Everyone's favourite Chicago-based watch newsletter publisher is back for his second (or third?) chat with OT:, and as is now customary, we've caught at something of an interstitial moment. Traina left Hodinkee late last year and has dived head first into his newsletter, Unpolished (née Rescapement). We talk to Tony about the premise and pitch of his newsletter and (inevitably) the state of watch media in 2025. We also talk about industry pet peeves, press trip weirdness and why glazing billionaires is never a good idea. We have some denim thoughts we can't bottle up anymore! Also: cookies, curse words, and no-polish confidence. Here we go. Irene from the Real World made a great TikTok about sitting jeans vs. standing jeans. Shoutout to The Consistency Project for helping us find vintage denim that fits and Jane on Jeans for endless intel—the place for denim discourse. The limited-edition Tate's White Chocolate Raspberry cookies? So good! These little wooden mushroom nutcrackers + shelled walnuts = a nice pre-dinner snack-slash-activity. We are hacking ourselves out of Google AI by adding curse words to our searches. What corners of TikTok are grabbing your attention? Despite marketers knowing the power of video, most only produce 0-1 videos per year. Why? They are stuck in the old mindset that “video production” requires equipment, polished spokespeople, and technical chops to polish it up. In this episode, Jeremy Toeman, founder of Augie Studios, unpacks the refreshing reality of what it takes today to make videos - which is 180 degree turn from what it was 10 years ago. Unpolished, unfiltered, and short-form video is shockingly easy to execute, but its impact on engagement and SEO is immediate. Listen to get inspiration on how to finally get your video strategy off the ground.

I am so pumped to be joined today by Shelby Clement! Shelby is a social media manager, and she's here to share with us the importance of authenticity online. We all like to feel put together and professional when presenting ourselves online, but we cannot be that way all the time, and we shouldn't! We are real humans, and guess what? People love and want the raw and unfiltered side of us! “We're in a world of social media where everything is fake, but people think that all of these highlight reels that your getting of someone's life, is their life, because people get to choose what they show you. So what I always say is, imagine a world where we all just showed up exactly how we are and we were okay with people accepting us in that sense versus trying to do these trends, and trying to use all these filters, or trying to do all this stuff. If you just show up 100% yourself, number one you'll be very proud of yourself in the end, and number two it's like you're pulling back the curtain to let people get to know you on a whole different level. That right there is your secret sauce, it is you.” Connect with Shelby: Instagram: @itsshelbyclement or https://www.instagram.com/itsshelbyclement/ Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/damn-good-content/id1687355093 CONNECT WITH JILLIAN Join Infinity HERE Follow me: @thejillianmurphy Visit my website: thejillianmurphy.com Join my Free Facebook Community: https://bit.ly/sellingsecretsgroup Grab My Happy Juice: http://ltl.is/rxdcgpj

Episode 1. Of the new name, at least. 2024, it's us. And we're comin' in HAUTE. I mean, hot. I mean, we're actually just sweaty after a full rebrand. But welcome to The UNpolished. In this episode, we pull back the curtains on why, after 3 years of Woo Woo School, we felt it was in alignment to pivot. In this candid conversation, we speak about the evolution of deciding to amazon prime microphones to our doors and blast our thoughts on air— and how it's changed our lives. Things we touch on: What you can expect going forward Why we decided to change the name/content What worked and what didn't The importance of staying in the flow of what art asks of you Thank you for joining us in this audio diary, and we are SO excited for what is to come. Say Hi: @the.unpolished
A famous Cliff 'Em All quote for our weekend in the MotorCity. Shane's voice is on the fritz along with his mic but we bring you the raw version of a stadium weekend recap in all aspects. UnEdited, UnPolished, and maybe we'll be forgiven. How many trucks does Metallica lease? How many channels do they chew up on the soundboard? What does the band make off of merch in one weekend? Did Shane pee in his new YETI? We answer all that while touching on the meet n greet, the Hetfield book signing, reading Messengers, and what really was in the bag at the end of Through The Never! This episode brought to you by David Ellefson's online XXX guitar lessons, and The Pizza Cat restaurant in downtown Detroit we visited....Only a shooting every other month. Kelly, Suze, and Stephanie invite you on an adventure, called Unchained and Unpolished. It's based on three words...encounter, identity, and community. It's their heart's desire that you encounter the love of Jesus in such a way that you realize your true kingdom identity, your royalty, your daughters of the king. They ask you to live it out loud, boldly, in community with others, counter-culturally. Come help them take the world by storm in such a way that you break the chains and labels that society puts on us. All the should've, could've, would've, not good enough. If you battle these things, we are here to do battle with you. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Episode 106 finds the gals on the corner of Audacity & Advice where the [mental] weather aspires to be 75 and sunny even if it's actually partly cloudy or gale force winds blow our minds on any given day! Milestone events can sometimes (ok, a lot of the time) trigger our own internal score card of checks and balances creating a "storm" effect of emotion. If we aren't prepared with our proverbially umbrella, raincoat, snow boots, etc our minds are bound to get caught in the eye of the tornado or hurricane or tsunami or a full blown Nor'easter that wants to take us down! Tune in and listen as Dr. Boca & Rachel Silver-Cohen ditch the couch, grab the mics (and their sunblock) and prepare for weather patterns of sunshine, blue skies and zero humidity even if the actual forecast calls for unpolished pockets of downpours!

Episode 104 finds the gals on the corner of Audacity & Advice to break down and recap the unpolished wreckage of HBO Max's Season Two of And Just Like That. Come on Carrie, you really thought just because Aidan is back in the picture Big was all a [BIG] mistake? How dare you! Even though there's no better husband on the planet than Harry Goldenblatt, Charlotte's middle-aged reckoning resulted in squeezing her mid-sectioned self into SPANX® and spanking her family with some new ground rules for the penthouse! Certainly we can't forget about the "transitions" of Che & Miranda and while we're at it, let's also throw down what (and who) Nya & Seema threw around in the bedroom [and otherwise] throughout the season! And yes... it's weak not to speak, so we ditched the couch, grabbed the mics, "And Just Like That" we SPOKE about the WOKE! No matter your pronoun, this is an episode you won't want to miss! Episode 102 meets the girls on the corner of "Barbie Land" & the "Real World" as they break down the wreckage/controversy surrounding this summer's blockbuster movie, Barbie. After months of media mayhem being choked down our throats does anyone even understand what the film is about? Self discovery? Feminism? Male chauvinism? Perfectionism? Is Ken "Kenough?" Rachel Silver-Cohen invites Dr. Boca to take a deep [albeit blind] dive with her into the mind of writer/director Greta Gerwig in an attempt to figure it all out! MALIA - "Undone" from the 2022 album What's After 'I Love You?' on MALIA/Black Sea Music. Seattle-born, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter MALIA recently unveiled her latest set of soulful R&B tunes with What's After ‘I Love You.' Following her 2021 debut Unpolished, the vulnerable album examines a past relationship in the wake of immense heartbreak. Our Song of the Day is the record's closer “Undone,” in which MALIA comes to terms with the fact that the relationship is now forever changed and even when her ex asks her to come over, it won't be the same for her. The damage is done and the magic gone so it's time to focus on putting herself back together piece-by-piece. “This is the most vulnerable I've ever been in my writing and it makes me feel so exposed to share but also empowered because the growth I experienced through this intense pain created the best version of me yet,” MALIA told American Songwriter about the new EP. “Sharing these songs with the world forces me to continue to remain open and live from a place of love over fear. I hope my story reminds people that moments of darkness however painful, actually hold our hand and help us elevate.” This summer, MALIA will be supporting Corrine Bailey Rae on tour with a stop in Seattle on Sunday, July 17th at the Moore Theatre. Below, watch the visual for What's After ‘I Love You' highlight “Only One.” Read the full post on KEXP.org Support the show: https://www.kexp.org/donate See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
