Today, Isi and Mitch explore the animal kingdom in the first of two episodes; discussing animals with bad PR (public relations). We talk about the movies and other media that has influenced our opinions on some of the most fascinating and often friendly animals. Isi: [1:02] I know why why we watched something where a cockroach appeared and we discussed why the cockroaches actually have such a bad reputation because they don't do anything really they don't bite you they don't sting you they don't do anything bad to you just living in they just prefer dirty places I think that's why people just eat bin-juice don't they? I don't even know what they eat, but (Bin-juice.) What do you think? Mitch: [1:30] Yeah, we came up with an idea to do an episode about good and bad animal PR. Okay, should we get started? Isi: [1:42] Yeah. Mitch: [1:43] Wait, first of all, we haven't said it, but welcome to the Easy English Podcast. (10 minutes later.) I um have written down some of my own feelings towards animals in the animal kingdom that have bad and good PR. Now just in case you don't know PR do you know what PR stands for? (Public relations.) So in the theory we're sort of making out like each of these animals has a media team which they kind of do for me it's mainly Disney movies that's gonna be the reason why I've given them good or bad PR. So I'm just gonna read out some to you do you want to start with bad PR or good PR? Bad PR would be animals which we perceive to be bad from media, whatever but actually really good Isi: [2:31] All animals are good there's no animal that has bad PR that is not good. Mitch: [2:35] I have I have a good one that I would like for you to tell me that has bad PR and is a bad animal. Isi: [2:41] There is no bad animals. Mitch: [2:42] Are you sure? The Yankees and Mets seasons got off to two very different starts. The Yankees swept the Astros in Houston and Juan Soto was dominant at the plate. The Mets get swept at home by the Brewers and Rhys Hoskins cemented himself as a Mets enemy. Fans were mad that Pete Alonso was on stage with Zach Bryan after losing their first two games. Fans are mad at the Mets dance team. Everything is spiraling. Boomer said it's a bad look for Alonso to do that publicly on Saturday night when you have a 1pm game the next day. Boomer said the Mets need JD Martinez in the lineup as soon as possible. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with audio of Juan Soto's RBI single. We also heard John Sterling's Soto HR call. No one gets the ‘Soto photo' reference. We heard from Howie Rose as the Mets were swept. Josh Hart said after last night's game that they prepare like Anunoby and Randle will not be back this season. In the final segment of the hour, The Jets get edge rusher Haasan Reddick. That came out of nowhere. The Jets are in a moment now where they have to go for it, because after Aaron Rodgers retires, they are going to have to start over with a new QB. We talked about the QBs in the upcoming draft and where JJ McCarthy and Michael Penix will land.
As Jordan Henderson packs his bags in readiness for a new club after only six months in Saudi Arabia, we reflect on his series of bad decisions - and the fact he had so many people telling him this is exactly how it would be. This week we are talking creativity with a review of some of the best bits of creativity our panel has seen in the past month or so.On the show today to help us review some of the best creative work are:Lora Martyr, creative director, Taylor HerringDaniel Glover, co-founder & creative director, The AcademyIndy Selvarajah, chief creative officer, Global Markets, KetchumThis is the second episode of our now newish monthly global creativity review on the PRmoment podcast. Each month we will feature a rolling panel of PR creatives and in each episode our panellists will choose the favourite creative work they've seen recently. This special PRmoment Podcast about creativity is, naturally enough, bought to you in partnership with Creative Moment and I'd highlight the Creative Moment Awards which are now open for entries, the final entry deadline is Friday 30th June.I'd also encourage you to check out this week's Good and Bad PR. One fun story from this week is about a river in Cumbria called the Swindale Beck. Over 200 years ago the locals cut out the meanders and made the river straight, to increase the footprint of the farmland. But the move killed all the fish that had happily swam up and down the river up until that point. The straightening had made the water flow faster and the fish could no longer survive. So the RSPB and United Utilities and their friends have “re-wiggled” the river and the fish have come back and nature is at one with itself once again.A beautiful story to end on and our dear friends at Meltwater have been in touch to put some data behind this PR wonderfulness - unsurprisingly the word fish dominated the top positive keywords and there were 3.2 thousand engagements of the story on social channels. Do check out this week's Good and Bad PR for all the background. Thanks as ever to the PRmoment Podcast sponsors The PRCA. Here's a summary of what PRmoment founder Ben Smith discussed with Lora, Indy and Dan4 mins Indy Selvarajah tells us why he loves the Ravi Superstar Adidas collab.“The campaign is built on a lovely human insight from an immigrant community”“It's beautifully crafted - it's got that beautiful key visual you can use across all channels”“This is about integration, about seeing something that lives across everything.”“The best campaigns I see are those that are crafted within an inch of their life”“This is a campaign where Adidas start to feel like an underdog again”13 mins Dan Glover talks us through 3 of his favourite recent campaigns:Ford recreates the 100-year-old story of Aloha Wanderwell's pioneering drive around the world in a Ford Model T, this time with travel influencer Lexie Alford behind the wheel of a Ford all-electric Explorer launch.
