This satirical article set the world on fire faster than Amazon Prime's Fallout TV series. Whether Hailey is even really a pre-school teacher or not, the question is still, Can people still be fired from things on social media? I guess it depends on what those things are. Honda's Civic Type R made a big splash when it launched in the late 1990s. The Civic Type R gave sport compact buyers around the world a potent front-wheel drive hatchback and fueled the growing interest in Japanese imports. The only problem: It didn't come to the United States. No, instead Honda decided to shuffle its sport compact onto U.S. shorelines under the Acura banner. This low-production Integra Type R was obviously popular and now commands a premium as a collector's piece. Fortunately, in 2017, Honda did bring the Civic Type R to the U.S. and finally gave Honda fans the option to easily and legally own Honda's hot Civic. When Acura brought back the Integra, it was only a matter of time before the company ushered in its Type R analog, and it's finally here. The 2024 Acura Integra Type S borrows the powertrain and hard points from Honda's Civic Type R but gives it a more road-friendly makeover. The Integra Type S doesn't have the heavily bolstered seats or large rear wing, but it does have more power than its Honda counterpoint. On this episode of Quick Spin, host Wesley Wren hops behind the wheel of Acura's hopped-up Integra and puts it through its paces. Wren takes you on a guided tour of the Integra Type S and highlights some of his favorite features and what sets it apart from the Civic Type R. Wren also takes you along for a live drive review. Wren chats with Autoweek associate editor Emmet White, who also spent time with the Integra Type S. The pair discuss how the Integra feels compared to the Civic and what they both like about the car. Closing the show, the pair breaks down what makes the Integra Type S special.

The hotly anticipated Acura Integra is finally back on Acura's roster. Despite carrying a Honda badge in Japan, and a different name at launch, the Acura Integra made its way to the United States in 1986. Helping launch Acura in the United States, the Integra became a staple in the company's portfolio and was loved by fans that wanted a little more than the pedestrian Civic. The Integra also was one of the only ways Americans could get something similar to the Honda Civic Type R. The Integra Type R has become wildly collectible since it went away, and helped anchor Acura as an enthusiast brand. The reborn Integra doesn't have a Type R variant yet, but the Type S is expected. Instead, the '23 Integra uses the same 1.5-liter turbocharged I4 from the Civic Si. Similarly, this upscale compact makes a six-speed manual transmission or a CVT available, depending on how you want the power to get to the front wheels. On this episode of Quick Spin, associate editor Emmet White hops behind the wheel of the '23 Acura Integra and puts it through its paces. White takes you on a guided tour of the Integra and highlights its styling, features and more. Later, White takes you along for a live drive review. Adding to the show, White chats with host Wesley Wren about the Integra, what separates it from the Civic Si, and if it lives up to the hype. Closing the show, the pair breakdown what makes this new Integra special.

Is the E39 BMW M5 actually any good? — The Carmudgeon Show with Cammisa and Derek from ISSIMI Ep. 62

Today's episode begins with cars shoehorned with engines they were never supposed to possess, such as the W124 Mercedes-Benz 500E and R129 SL600. On the opposite end of the engine-size spectrum, Jason also discusses his recent findings in the newest Cammisa Ultimate Drag Race series, featuring new front-wheel drive manual transmission offerings such as the Hyundai Elantra N, Volkswagen Jetta GLI, and Acura Integra (and special guest Ford Bronco Raptor). On the subject of super sedans, Derek discusses his recent adventures in an E39 BMW M5, a car which controversially did not capture his soul. As a two-time six-cylinder E39 owner, Jason chimes in on why Derek might not be so out of line on this rather unusual opinion. Some cars, like the E39 M5 and many other period-exceptional cars, are inherently less desirable for not having enough flaws and subsequent character. What's more- the E39 M5 is an excellent sporting luxury sedan, but is it an excellent sports sedan? A discussion on flawed yet wonderful vs. wonderful yet flawed cars opens the floodgates for many other questions to be answered. For instance, what makes a car significant for its time? What makes a terrible car better than a fundamentally great car over time? What is definition of a sports sedan? What's a sports car? And seriously, why is the Hyundai Elantra N so ugly? All this and more brought to you by the Hagerty Podcast Network

This week, Jason drives Derek's Lamborghini Miura- which, as it turns out, is a vehicle that most commonly enjoys flirting with its own death by fire, inclement weather, or just modern day traffic. Jason and Derek discuss the car's other difficulties, including but not the mystery of non-standardized interior button labels, glowworms for headlights, and windshield wipers which prefer to eject versus function. Conclusion- if anything happens to your Miura, make sure the whole thing burns to the ground- the subsequent restoration won't be worth the trouble or finished in your children's lifetime. The main focus of this episode, however, is Derek's recent trip to Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, a journey not traveled without some difficult weather, 3 AM traffic jams, and many flavors of Porsche 911 Turbo eating up the elevation. Despite some unique challenges in Derek's adventure, he luckily did not get struck by lightning. This eventually leads to an extended discussion on Mobil 1 oil and some discoveries Derek made while talking to an oil engineer atop Pike's Peak. Jason and Derek explore differences in oil weight, detergents, anti-foaming agents, modifiers, and more magic that lubricates our engines. Oil change intervals and oil analysis also come into play- sometimes a scary Blackstone result isn't as worrisome as you might be led to believe. Jason also revisits his findings on the new Acura Integra and Honda Civic SI, and uncovers why ultimately there is more to the $7,000 price gap than initially meets the eye. Jason and Derek also discuss a recent spin in an original DC2 Acura Integra Type R, a car whose mass alone dictates how much the Integra nameplate has changed in 25 years. All this and more, brought to you by the Hagerty Podcast Network.
