I've been on a bit of a social media detox AND been very diligent about using the "do not disturb" feature on my iphone. It's been immensly helpful in reducing some stress and anxiety and keeping me focused on work (and my kiddos). In this episode, I'm delving into the impact of social media and our constant connection to our cell phones on various aspects of our lives. I'm explorinig how these digital technologies can impact us -- including productivity, mental health, and memory. And as always, I'm sharing things that have helped me, and my clients, with creating habits and routines that reduce our reliance (or addiction) to these apps and tools. Welcome to Season 2, Episode 2 of the ESPN PRod Pod, the official podcast of the ESPN Communications Department. The PRod Pod takes you behind ESPN's unmatched storytelling by introducing the people behind the content – who they are, where they're from and how they create the magic.Talk about making an impact. ESPN Vice President, Digital Production Mike Foss first arrived in Bristol, Conn., in 2017; less than five years later he oversees the burgeoning, industry-leading ESPN digital empire, including ESPN's YouTube presence, SportsCenter on Snapchat, multiple digital studio and live (often on-site) presentations, Podcasts, ESPN+ studio offerings and the newly-launched, mid-day program, “Debateable.”As Communications Associate Producer and PRod Pod host Jon McLeod discovers, what is surely NOT debateable is how Foss and his team are impacting the way fans consume ESPN.“We had 1.2 billion views in October,” Foss tells McLeod, “no media publisher has ever done that.”And virtually every month, ESPN Digital eclipses its previous highs across key metrics. Foss shares his overall philosophy for digital content and zeroes in on the overflowing goodness of ESPN's YouTube page, which he tells the PRod Pod, offers a “comprehensive representation of” what ESPN provides. In the concluding “Fab 5” segment with ESPN Fan Relations Senior Coordinator Kiana Lowe, Foss divulges an affection for Marvel's Daredevil, a truism for all who partake in social media and even nearly breaks out in a rendition of his favorite Blippi tune.“The 'Excavator Song' is a JAM,” Foss says. And that is not debateable!

Episode 47 is a special Digital Ministry Conference episode, where we share some of the top sessions from the 2021 Digital Ministry Conference. In this session, we hear from Misty Phillip, Founder of Spark Media. Podcasting is a powerful way to share your knowledge and connect with new audiences, and yet many are too intimidated to get started, and even more get started but never really get their podcast off the ground, there are over 1.9 million dead podcasts out there. Misty Phillip has developed the Spark community to help you get started and keep going with your podcast. In this session, she shares her 5 tips to grow your impact through podcasting. Why is podcasting important? Podcasts have become the new pulpit. There are currently 2.6 million podcasts with roughly 1 million of them that were created during the 2020 pandemic. Not only is podcasting seeing a meteoric rise in popularity, but with the increased need for digital connectedness churches and Christians are finding podcasts to be their go-to medium for staying connected, evangelism, and discipleship. Not only has the number of podcast creators grown but there is a significant number of listeners, 68 million people in the united states alone listen to multiple podcasts weekly. What are the 5 Steps to Grow your impact with podcasting? Step one is to start with why you want to create a podcast in the first place. If you don't know who the podcast is for, and how it will add value to your audience then you are likely to get lost in the noise. Step two is to know your who. Once you have your “why” it's critical to know the pain points of your audience and how to effectively navigate those pain points you can really be of service to them. With you “why” and “who” nailed down you can jump into the five steps for building impact with your podcast. 1. Name and brand your show. 2. Decide on a show format. 3. Take time recording, editing, and producing your show. 4. Publish your show! 5. Promote your show. Be sure to listen to the full episode because Misty dives into each of these steps in detail to give you everything you need to know to get started and drive impact. With CoinDesk's Consensus just a week away, we decided that this week's Money Reimagined episode should focus on the big macro and geopolitical themes that will be its hallmark. This episode is sponsored by hellointerpop.io and The Sun Exchange.Highlights of that landmark event include Federal Reserve Governor Lael Brainard's perspective on the future of money, Bridgewater Associates founder Ray Dalio's thesis on the end of the dollar's dominance and a discussion/debate on the inflation outlook featuring former Treasury Secretary Lawrence H. Summers, Bloomberg's Joe Weisenthal and CoinDesk's Noelle Acheson. Attendees will be asked to contemplate where the global economy is headed in an age of monetary transformation and what that means for the power structures of the world as we know it. As a prelude, we invited Bruno Macaes, a Portuguese politician, author and influential thinker on geopolitical trends, and Tomicah Tillemann, the Director of the Digital Impact and Governance Initiative at the New America think tank, to give us their take on these matters. Some of the scenarios we discussed are challenging. They paint a picture of mass disruption of the global economic order. But both our guests had a somewhat contrarian take to a common view, held by many observers of geopolitical trends, that forces of technological change and economic stress will conspire to bring to an end to the era of U.S. financial, economic and political hegemony. In different ways, Macaes and Tillemann both argued that the U.S., if it plays its cards right, could turn this current moment of economic uncertainty to its advantage and sustain leadership of the global economy. To do so, they said, it must embrace the principles of open systems and open society that lie at the heart of the crypto ethos – and which, in theory at least, are ingrained in what are widely considered “American values.” -InterPop is redefining the future of NFTs and fandom.
