Today I welcome back actor, writer, and director Alison Rich to the show. Her short film Pathological recently screened at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. When I heard that Alison had another film at Sundance (previously Training Wheels in 2022) I made it a priority to check it out. The short film is hilarious and thought provoking. I look forward to more projects from Alison in the future. Thanks for listening! Grab your backpack and your ramen noodles, and join Andrew and Presley as they head back to college with this Hulu comedy! All our Links: https://linktr.ee/seasononepodSeason Spoiler Synopsis: Resident Advisors is a Hulu original television series that aired in 2015. The series follows a group of RAs (resident advisors) and their antics in their dorm, Hutcherson Dorm, at Thoreau College. Across this short series, we see the RAs getting into tricky situations with their residents, such as throwing a party at the dorm to raise awareness about and combat binge drinking, trying to promote safe sex practices but handing out condoms that have been stapled to a board, and throwing a wing event with a motivational speaker who you don't to motivate college students. Each episode of the series leads up to a fire in the brand new $160 million dorm, which we see occur in the penultimate episode. We see Olivia (the resident director of Hutcherson, played by Jamie Chung) being framed for the fire. In contrast, the other resident advisors and some of the students share their versions of the events leading up to the fire. Olivia and Doug (a 30-year-old, 11-year veteran RA played by Ryan Hansen) had spent that night together in Doug's room, and Amy (RA played by Alison Rich) ended up filming the culprit red handed while sitting outside Olivia's room waiting to prank her. Marissa (Doug's obsessive ex, played by Vanessa Lengies) started the fire in Olivia's room to get back at her for seemingly having great chemistry with Doug. The series ends with this video evidence coming to light and Marissa being arrested while the rest of our cast returns to their jobs/lives/antics.

Every once in a while, a hairstyle comes along that defines a generation. It changes people's habits and behaviors, their attitudes and priorities. This week on America Won't Shut Up, we talk about, you guessed it, Going Outside with Wet Hair! To get to the bottom of this trend, we'll first sit down with teenage, YouTube-sensation Walker Tyler, as he shares what it's like to be the biggest celebrity to emerge from this wet hair phenomenon, and perhaps the biggest reason for it's pervasiveness. Then we'll talk to celebrity wet hair stylist and star of the Logo 2 reality show, "Spanish Wet Heads," Paz Fuentes. She's got a lot to say, and we're ready to listen. We'll also be paid a visit from our old riddling friend, The Befuddler. He's here with a handful of puzzles to keep you wondering. And, of course, we have breaking news about the 29 workers trapped inside a Minneapolis office building with dry hair. All that, plus music from the Foo Fighters. This week, on America Won't Shut Up! Our guests this week are Sam West (@SWestKing) and Alison Rich (@alisonisrich). Hello, friend-os! This episode of How Was Your Week is a humdinger. Returning delight GABE LIEDMAN is here to regale us with stories about working at Barney's and which celebs were jerks to him, whether hunks are more funny than sexy, the possibility that he has too many teeth, and what Primal Fear is about. Gabe is delicious. He could talk about nothing for an hour and you would be thrilled. Then, ALISON RICH is here to have a conversation...about a show called THE CONVERSATION! Hahaha! Do you see that thing I just did? Anyway, Alison Rich, with whom Gabe and Julie recently wrote on Billy on the Street and who is in a web series called INCOGNITO, watches a show on Lifetime called The Conversation so you and I needn't. But after this chat, you might want to! It features bare-footed talks with smart and interesting ladies like Sarah Silverman, Melissa McCarthy, Glenda Bailey, and...Olivia Wilde?!?!?! Plus, Julie recalls an experience with an unpleasant pie vendor in Brooklyn, realizes something intimate and spicy about Kenneth Branagh, ponders specific instances of "ball-bags" and "pissy pants," explains Kristen Stewart's appeal and what she expects to be Robert Pattinson's weakness, recommends a new documentary, and reassures everybody that, because that Vince Vaughn is at the wheel of a 70's reboot, everything will be okay. A fun and fabulous show for you and your ears.
