Big Fat Five: A Podcast Financially Supported by Big Fat Snare Drum
This week's guest is Steve Jocz, also known as Stevo 32. Steve is a Canadian musician best known as the original drummer of the punk rock band Sum 41. Steve co-founded Sum 41 in 1996 with Deryck Whibley and played a significant role in the band's early success, contributing to their distinctive punk rock sound. He remained with Sum 41 until 2013, showcasing his drumming skills on albums like "All Killer No Filler”, “Does This Look Infected?” and Chuck." After leaving Sum 41, Steve left music behind all-but-completely...only to rekindle his relationship with the drums around 2019. We get into a lot of fun Sum 41 history and insider stories via very welcomed tangents and I was smiling the whole time. Steve was a big part of my drumming when I was younger and I was giddy as all hell to have him on the show. I hope you enjoy the 5 records that helped shape Steve Jocz into the drummer he is today. Each episode the pair will talk all things murder and macabre and have a right laugh doing it. Except in this episode, they aren't talking about a serial killer. They're talking about one of the worst true crime cases in British History. Episode 100 is a special one, the centenary, so Rachel and Kiri are looking at Jimmy Savile. Part 5, THE FINAL PART, takes a look at the death of Savile's Mother, his own death and operation Yewtree. There's a lot to pack in but they still find time to chat about libraries, measuring pizzas and reputational checks.

It's All Killer No Filler and today we're diving deep on Amazon Ads Budgets. Join Clifford and Rob from the Amazon team as we discuss why: Bids are the actual tool to control your ACOS Moving a bid up or down is the lever to control whom your ads are being shown to - AND which placements they'll land in! Budgets are just a stop gap for spend - they leave money on the table When campaigns are budget capped, you don't necessarily stop spending on those keywords By having the correct bid your campaigns can naturally adjust to demand (spending more or less depending on the day) 0:03:00 - Why bids should control Amazon ad spend 0:08:00 - The impact of ads on organic sales 0:14:00 - Managing campaigns through segmentation 0:18:30 - The role of budgets as risk prevention tools 0:21:30 - Strategies for Prime Day and budget allocation #AmazonAdvertising #BudgetsVsBids #PrimeDayStrategies #OrganicSales #CampaignOptimization Subscribe to DTC Newsletter - https://dtcnews.link/signup Advertise on DTC - https://dtcnews.link/advertise Work with Pilothouse - https://dtcnews.link/pilothouse Follow us on Instagram & Twitter - @dtcnewsletter Watch this interview on YouTube - https://dtcnews.link/video

Each episode the pair will talk all things murder and macabre and have a right laugh doing it. Except in this episode, they aren't talking about a serial killer. They're talking about one of the worst true crime cases in British History. Episode 100 is a special one, the centenary, so Rachel and Kiri are looking at Jimmy Saville. Part 3 takes a look at Saville's links to Duncroft School and Leeds General Infirmary. When Rachel and Kiri aren't talking about Saville's reign of terror they find time to chat about 4D films and Butlins.

Subscribe to DTC Newsletter - https://dtcnews.link/signup It's All Killer No Filler, and today we're chatting with Cam and Jacob from Pilothouse's Pilot Program for early-stage brands. Jacob breaks down the key opportunities and oopsies he sees brands take advantage of and make when trying to get traction and scale on Meta Ads, including: -Appearing as a large brand using social proof(Pages, Darkposting, As Seen on features, popups, events, etc) -Running micro engagement campaigns optimizing to build up optics(pushing non-sales focused posts from pages for $5-%10/day to PRS and RTG audiences) -Using FB ads library to see what the “big guys” are and AREN'T doing -Dial in on messaging of NEW vs Existing customers(split out test campaigns and funnels) -Ensuring you have polished studio shots, lifestyle shots, CGC, etc at your disposal(but not going too deep until you see what's working) MISTAKES -Bad Meta campaign setup(leads to wasted budget) -Cutting tests too early with limited budgets -Not adding in enough contrast to tests(for quicker insights and less wasted budget) -Not using Page Testing tools (ie. Warpdrive and Hotjar)(Needing additional Meta campaigns that spend more wasted budget). -Relying solely on the ads over the product itself(a good product does most of the talking) -Being stuck on set goals while benchmarks are still being set -Paying too much attention to the day-to-day and not the week-to-week, especially important on new and smaller brands. Welcome to my most punk episode ever. I am pleased to welcome Phil Marcade of The Senders. They have a new double album out called All Killer No Filler. It chronicles, as this episode attempts to do, the band's nearly continuous history from 1977-2001. But we go even farther back. Phil talks about moving to the US from France when he was a kid. There's a lot of great stories around forming The Senders, like why Phil moved from drums to vocals and how trying NOT to sound punk made them even more punk. There is also a reason the band chose their name, but it wasn't their first choice. Their first was definitely different, but apparently not unique enough. Phil talks about the very brief period of time when Johnny Thunders was in the band and how he met Wayne Kramer of The MC5. And I float the possibility that The Senders influenced Led Zeppelin.Pick up the album wherever you get music; through Bandcamp or streaming. Check out their social media, especially Facebook. Join comedians Rachel Fairburn and Kiri Pritchard-McLean as they explore a shared passion, serial killers. Each episode the pair will talk all things murder and macabre and have a right laugh doing it. Episode 97 has a few parts and takes a look at Charles Manson and The Manson Family. Part 5 becomes quite a meta episode as it looks at the long, confusing and protracted trial. Attorneys go missing, heads are shaved and at one point Lennon and McCartney are implicated - it's wild. Don't worry Rachel and Kiri still find time to talk about sneezes, place names, going for a run on your own.

Part 6 is the final installement, thank God. There's still a bit more trial - sorry Rachel but we also find out what happens to the different members of the family in later years. There's still time to talk about chinos, Prince Harry and scented candles.

There's lots of chat about dismemberment but Rachel and Kiri also find time to talk about dosshouses, tattoos and Mums on tele.

Each episode the pair will talk all things murder and macabre and have a right laugh doing it. Well, episode 92 ended up being a bumper edition as we look at Gordon Stewart Northcott, who was known by friends and family as Stewart and to us as an utter bastard. This case is awful and bizarre containing stinking chicken farms, a changeling and Rachel's desire to become a monk. Rachel also gets a shock as Kiri tells her about a horrific side case - strap in for that because this whole episode might be one of the grizzliest we've discussed.
