This week on Exploit It, we're jetting off for Hard Ticket to Hawaii!
Yobouary starts strong with the classic Andy Sidaris film, Seven! Starring Grindbin All Star William Smith, this is Sidaris at his best. This movie has literally everything you could want... and, unfortunately, offensive comedy routines...
We start the MONTH OF PETE with special guest and fourth or fifth member of the Give Me Back cast, TROY! Now before roll your eyes and run for the hills because Pete is picking all the movies this month don't fear, he promised not to pick all Japanese hentai-body horror films this year. Maybe. Rest assured, however, he will pick four regretful movies that will test his friendship with cast and maybe finally get him kicked off the show. We start with a truly awful action flick from director Andy Sidaris full of bombs, beasts and boobs. LOTS of boobs. Like enough boobs to make even Pete say, "Yes, I know you have boobs. Can we focus on something else?" If not for Snake, you're genuinely better off just watching the ridiculous action clips on youtube.
Andy Sidaris strikes again! Is it possible to capture lightning in a bottle twice? Maybe, but this isn't one of those times. This week we're getting hard once more with GUNS: starring a slew of playmates, and a young Danny Trejo. Fans of Hard Ticket to Hawaii, this is one you're not gonna want to miss. First, it's not always fun and games in hockey, when you get hit in the head with a puck. Also, school field trips, and ordering stuff from a company that seems to only sort of exist doesn't always go the best. Then, on to the movie... Sleepaway Camp, is a movie that was actually intended to be scary, not one of our usual horror/comedy thing. Although this one does have enough bad acting to find a few bits to laugh at. It's apparently developed quite a devoted cult following due to its quaintness and twist ending. Long story short, don't interact with Angela, and you'll be OK. Otherwise you'll probably end up being killed or maimed in some kind of imaginative way. Sleepway Camp final grade: Steve An interesting spin on a thriller-type horror movie. Not particularly scary, but keeps your attention and does have the big reveal at the end. 4.0/5.0 Brandon A welcome change from the recent Andy Sidaris marathon. Done well enough to draw you in and get you invested in the characters. All-in-all, not a bad little movie cocktail with a wiener twist. 3.7/5 Cocktail of the Week: Deluxe Raspberry Collins Take a traditional Sex on the Beach: 1 1/2 oz Whiskey 1/2 oz Ginger Liqueur 3/4 oz Fresh-Squeezed Lemon Juice 1/2 oz Simple Syrup Drop four raspberries in a cocktail shaker with your liquid ingredients. Muddle them together, add ice, then shake to chill and combine. Strain over rocks in a Collins glass. Garnish with a twist of lemon and a raspberry if you're nasty. Cocktail Grade: A light, refreshing summer cocktail. As we get into autumn, we're running out of opportunities to enjoy these kinds of drinks, so get them in now. Delicious. 4.8/5 ------------------ Contact us with feedback or cocktail/movie recommendations to: boozeandbmovies@gmail.com X: @boozeandbmovies Instagram: @boozeandbmovies Threads: @boozeandbmovies www.facebook.com/boozeandbmovies --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/boozeandbmovies/support
The one kicks off with some gardening chat, complaints about the Amazon return process at Kohl's when a person in line in front of you has no honor and youth sports seasons starting up. As far as the movie goes, we check out Malibu Express, out of sequence in the L.E.A.T.H.A.L Cinematic Universe. Much like it's follow-up, Hard Ticket to Hawaii, which we reviewed in Ep 20, this one features more than its fair share of Early/Mid 80s Playboy Playmates, although the...exposure...they give and receive in this one outstrips Hard Ticket by quite a bit. A poor-man's mash-up of Bo Duke, Fletch and Fred from Scooby Doo "investigates" computer sales to Soviet Communists, but that plot of the movie never really happens. Then there's another part about a guy with gambling debts who blackmails high-society women with explicit photos and videos. Then there's like three other unconnected storylines. This movie is basically the fever dream of a teenage boy with a Playboy subscription from 1982-1984. The TL;DR version of the movie goes like this: Car, boobs, moustache, boobs, butt, car, gunfight, boobs, explosion, car chase, gunfight, boobs, helicopter, explosion, boobs, butt, The End. The last ten minutes of the movie is devoted to a couple monologues by the good guy and the bad guy that are intended to help you understand what happened. They didn't help. Malibu Express final grade: Steve Entertaining only for being so ripe with opportunity for mockery. Soooo many topless women that it actually detracted from the story. 2.69/5.0 Brandon Plot was...tough to follow?...non-existent? Andy Sidaris doesn't know how to write a movie, but he does know how to employ Playboy Playmates trying to kick off a film career. 3.80085/5, if you were a kid with a calculator in the 80s Cocktail of the Week: The Pineapple 2 oz Malibu Coconut Rum 4 oz Pineapple Juice Build the drink the the glass. Pour ingredients over ice and stir to combine. Cocktail Grade: A trip down memory lane to the old days in Columbus, OH. Delicious and nutritious. We did amp it up a bit by adding some 151 proof rum on a future round to turn it into the Caribou Lou (h/t Tech N9ne) 4.8/5 ------------------ Contact us with feedback or cocktail/movie recommendations to: boozeandbmovies@gmail.com X: @boozeandbmovies Instagram: @boozeandbmovies Threads: @boozeandbmovies www.facebook.com/boozeandbmovies --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/boozeandbmovies/support
It's time to close out the week with JJ & Tom summing up the works of Andy Sidaris in this minisode. How was this Michael Bay ON A BUDGET in the '80s? What do you get when you put together James Bond cheese, bimbos, Miami Vice cops, Martial Artists & more from a sports TV director? Why does such trash appeal to even the most bad movie-resistant crowd? Find out that night and surf with us! STURD - O - VISION EP. 18 'SURVIVING THE TIMES' - NAVIGATING 'HARD TICKET TO HAWAII' 1987" ARE YOU READY TO GET SLICIN & DICIN WITH SIR. STURDY HORROR FANS? IF YOU DON'T KNOW BY NOW I AM YOUR HOST SIR. STURDY. Welcome to another thrilling episode of "STURD - O - VISION," where your horror host Sir. Sturdy and his esteemed guest, Mick Manhattan from the amazing show "The Scene Snobs," dive into the cult classic film, "Hard Ticket to Hawaii." Released on March 1987, this explosive action-packed movie has become a beloved staple for fans of over-the-top '80s cinema. Directed by Andy Sidaris and featuring an ensemble cast including Ronn Moss, Dona Speir, and Hope Marie Carlton, "Hard Ticket to Hawaii" delivers an unforgettable blend of action, humor, and outrageous moments, all set in the stunning backdrop of Hawaii, USA. This film, known for its daring stunts and memorable one-liners, encapsulates the quintessential '80s vibe with a touch of espionage and danger. In this episode, Sir. Sturdy and Mick Manhattan will explore the making of the film, the cultural impact it has had since its release, and why it's considered a must-see for enthusiasts of so-bad-it's-good cinema. They'll also delve into the unique blend of genres that "Hard Ticket to Hawaii" represents, examining its status as a film that straddles the lines between action, thriller, and unintentional comedy. Join us as we unpack the directorial style of Andy Sidaris, the performances of the lead actors, and the film's infamous use of remote-controlled helicopters and venomous snakes. This episode of "STURD - O - VISION" is not just a review; it's an adventure into the heart of 1980s filmmaking at its most gloriously excessive. Tune in, laugh, and reminisce with us about one of the era's most entertainingly outrageous productions.

James and Allan spin the wheel of fate and plunder their "shelves" for movies they already own but haven't seen. We lose a Rebecca but gain an old new friend, Kris. James hitches a Train Ride to Hollywood (1975) with Bloodstone while Allan finds more than exclamation points in Andy Sidaris' Stacey! (1973) and Seven (1979). David and Rylend chat with screenwriter Josh Miller (Violent Night, Sonic the Hedgehog) about Roger Corman, Andy Sidaris, Lloyd Kauffman, and about what it really takes to hang in the often onerous Hollywood game for 20+ years… and Rylend and Josh gleefully reminisce about the time they spent together at Steven Seagal concerts back in the aughts… yes, CONCERTS… Steven Seagal actually put out a few blues albums back then… we're serious… look it up.
