Throughout the 80s and 90s, filmmaker Arlene Sidaris and her late husband, director Andy Sidaris, released a dozen movies under the philosophy of the three Bs - Bullets, Bombs and Babes. Films like Malibu Express, Savage Beach, and the immortal Hard Ticket to Hawaii showed the Sidaris's combining sexy playmates with huge explosions and tropical locations for some of the most enjoyable movie watching experiences around. These were the glory days of USA Up All Night and hundreds of B movies at the video rental store. Arlene tells us how the movies were made, behind the scenes stories, their current upgrade to 4K, and tons more. There's never been anything like a Sidaris movie. That era is long gone, but it was sure fun while it lasted!  Shop | Malibu Bay Films: The Andy Sidaris Collection The Hustle Podcast | creating podcasts | Patreon

Acomi and Turk182 celebrate the beginning and ending of an era with bittersweet applause as the L.E.T.H.A.L. Ladies movies start their final countdown with Enemy Gold. With Christian Drew "Drew" Sidaris (son of Andy Sidaris) taking over the reins with Enemy Gold and The Dallas Connection - in a not quite torch passing, with Andy returning for the final two films Day of the Warrior and Return to Savage Beach - we say goodbye to some of our old friends. Gone is Donna Speir, Roberta Vasquez, Cynthia Brimhall, and Ava Cadell. Retired or KIA? Their files are classified; so we'll never know. With some new agents, a new director and a smaller crew, consisting of agent Becky Midnite, Mark Austin, and Chris Cannon, the bad guys won't stand a chance! Especially when they find the long lost Confederate army's Enemy Gold. But, can our agents overcome and win the day when the director's boss is secretly working for the enemy? As if that weren't enough, the ruthless and powerful drug lord Santiago, has hired some more cunning and deadly than anyone the agency has faced before? The statuesque, cold-hearted, mercenary Jewel Panther; played by Julie (Jewel-y) Strain. Join Acomi and Turk as they lean into this new direction and bite their nails at the possibility the agents may not survive, and Santiago and Jewel Panther will escape with the Enemy Gold. Come to think of it, the team was very upset when Jewel mentioned how she'd killed some of their agents in the past. Is it possible that's what happened to Donna, Nicole, Edy, and Ava? Note: Excuse Turk for his bad eyesight and poor accounting of windows that were always present, and licence plates that never changed. Acomi and Turk182, along the occasional special guest, provide running commentary of awfulsome movie and TV shows. The hosts select movies that either one, or both, have never seen. All jokes and comments are improvised. NO PREPARED JOKES OR COMMENTS! During recording, the movies are watched at a low volume and with the subtitles on. Viewers may want to turn subtitles on as well to enhance the viewing experience. So, cue up the audio, ready the movie, and hit play when we say so. Note: This video is the commentary recorded by Acomi and Turk182. The commentary can be enjoyed on its own, but if you want to experience the Let's Watch! in all its glory, you'll need your own copy of the movie. During the mission, they encounter a storm and have to crash land on a different island, which ends up being the center of an intertwined narrative about recovering hidden World War II era gold while a bevy of other parties—ninjas, Filipino revolutionaries, and the U.S. government—attempt to do the same.

Andy Sidaris once again dials the nonsense up to about 50 and matches that number with topless women. This time the LETHAL team has to deal with some internal double-crossing or triple-crossing, we're very confused on how many crossings happen here.  We've seen that a lot of the reviews online for the 4th film in the LETHAL collection (this one proves that Seven is part of the franchise) that this one isn't good. There's no giant snake gimic, not as crazy stunts, and a much crappier version of the Malibu Express. Those points are all correct however, this is still a great time and as far as we can see has only one extreme drawback - the continuing degradation of the Abilene's in quality. Travis Abilene is the worst. He's just scummy. The actor belongs on the bad guy team - not among the coolest guys of all time. He stinks. Picasso Trigger is a lot more complex than the previous three films with a very convoluted plot and that may have been a major shift in how Andy and Arlene made their booby-movies. There may have been too much to get hung-up on and that may have distracted everyone from the formula that worked so well in the previous three. We'll see if the Sidaris ship corrects itself in Savage Beach.  With that disclaimer, Picasso Trigger is still a do and one of the best riffers you can pick up.

Dr. Snuggles and friends return for episode 40 of our spin-off show about the weird world of softcore skin-flicks! It’s the end of an era, as we take a look at the last of the Sidaris filmography, with Andy’s 1998 swansong L.E.T.H.A.L. Ladies: Return to Savage Beach. It’s a gigantic, complicated, labyrinthine piece of work: literally minutes of exposition at a time, and an ending that would make the writers of Scooby Doo wonder if they'd gone too far. Plus, all the usual gadgets, remote controlled vehicle explosions and fit-’em-in-where-you-can sex scenes you’ve come to expect from the great man. Is the film a perfect ending to a wonderful career? Well, that’s up for debate, but we do all get a little misty eyed saying goodbye to a great filmmaker. And this time we turn the spotlight on the legendary Shae Marks: Tiger herself! She only did two of Andy’s films, but she made an unforgettable impact, that’s for sure. She was best buds with co-stars Carrie Westcott and Julie Strain, and almost starred in a film written and directed by Julie’s then-husband (and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator) Kevin Eastman called Phasmophobia! Unfortunately it never got off the ground. Goddamn! What a wild ride that would have been! Hey, why not call us on our hotline? (724) 2GO-GO69 or (724) 246-4669!
