DJ is proud and happy to interview Fabio Palvelli - a 3D artist, business consultant, and YouTuber, Founder of the famous D2 Conference (first for archviz and now for all digital artists). Fabio is also known for his positive attitude (especially towards dogs, pizza, and Nutella but life in general too) and he became one of the early adopters in the emerging NFT digital art scene. The NFT stands for Non Fungible Tokens and it undoubtedly was the most controversial three letters of the last year. We dive with Fabio into the pros and cons of the whole NFT hype. He openly talks about his own experience of being skeptical at first, then enthusiastically jumps into the gold rush to finally land a positive but balanced point of view. In a friendly mood DJ and Fabio try to dismantle strange acronyms like GM or WAGMI. Fabio also talks about making money in the NFT space (or losing it) and how capricious it actually is. Are NFT-s the future of digital art or is it nothing more than a scam? Will there be more and more Beeple-s or is that just a seasonal trend that will pass like a summer storm?

I love seeing the Olympics and Super Bowl launching NFTs and brands and events including Ticketmaster and AMC theaters but they are creating a massive problem and confusion in an already confused NFT industry so much so I don't feel you should buy one till you first understand what we discuss in today's episode. First, off I'm a massive Olympics fan so much so I set my alarm for 3am to watch Lindsey Jacobellis conquer the demons of her 2006 tragic celebrating before the finish line memory and capture the gold in her 5th Olympics. So when I found out Lindsey as well as Shaun White had their own NFTs as you would probably guess I got excited. But that excitement was short-lived when I realized they were using different marketplaces and not only different from each other but ones that I haven't even used yet and I own NFTs on 15 different blockchains/marketplaces which inspired this episode today. In this episode. Confusion growth to continue with NFTs being hosted not only on different blockchains but also within those blockchains leveraging exclusive marketplaces. When using marketplaces like Fanzone.IO or Foundation, Makersplace, Nifty Gateway, ImmutableX, IMX, Tokentrove and others what role do the barrier to entry and less attention play in the NFT collection success and chaos within the NFT market? Blockchains for NFTs I predict in 18mo will sort themselves out and NFTs will leverage the blockchains that have the most technology advantage for the utility of that NFT but in the short term going where the mainstream attention is will be the norm for most NFT projects. Are NFT drops by AMC movies for upcoming Batman movies or Super Bowl brands dropping NFTs on their own marketplace as the NFL has done with: NFL.live-nfts.com a good or bad thing for the NFT industry. Are NFT's the future of selling online? Digital collectables, virtual vaults and augmented reality - the future is here. Despite completely blowing up in the last 6-12 months, NFT's aren't actually a new thing. They've been around for years and David Yu founder of Veve has been around since the very beginning. Emily & Waldo met David at an event earlier this year and got talking about NFT's and the future of NFT's in the eCommerce space, it was such an interesting discussion we knew we had to invite David on the podcast for a whole episode. David launched the NFT app and platform VeVe in January of this year, and it has been reported that in the first 6 months, VeVe generated more than $40 million in revenue. Not only that but they've signed deals with Marvel, Disney, Warner Brothers and many more major names to bring limited-edition digital collectibles to their growing app. Not bad. WTF is an NFT you ask? Why, a non-fungible token of course! And how do you make 69 million off of selling one? Lions and tigers and bears and bull markets oh my! It started with CryptoPunks and CryptoKitties; if we merge the finance and art world, we're learning to navigate assigning value to intangible art and music. We're also learning that streaming may not be answer the industry was looking for. Are NFT's a bandwagon only tech and crypto savvy artists can jump onto or will this transform the game as a new revenue stream? 2020 imposed a lot of strain on artists' livelihoods because it took away shows--- NFT's might be the road to follow to in order to bounce back and create in a completely uncensored network, the possibilities are endless. To understand more about NFT opportunities in the music industry and the crypto world, we spoke to Bjorn Niclas (CEO & Co-founder of ROCKI app), Raine Maida (Chief Product Officer of S!NG app, frontman of Our Lady Peace) and David Canellis (cryptojournalist and Director of News Programming at Protos Media).
