But what if there's a better approach? This week Alicia Wood of Fuel Your Fire Podcast joins Jenn to discuss the alternative—an ultimately easier way to get from where we are now to where we want to be. The best part? The Future is up to you and what you are willing to put into itNote: For Those of you who claim you no longer support the GOP/Republicans and Will Never Vote Republican again or support a candidate. Also especially to the ones that dream about "starting a new party" https://youtu.be/i3kphjKVVpYLet me break it down for you:If you do not support any more republicans you only by proxy support the wrong republicans to stay in office but you also support the left to keep winning. 75 million voted for Trump but only a million showed up on Jan 6th. Even this fraction is not enough to start a "new" party that can win.I come from a county of over 200k registered Republicans yet only the same 50 show up to meetings and are active in the GOP. Those are the ones who make decisions for the local GOP, not the 200k that is registered. The county contains the 3rd largest city in North Carolina. A state that is critical to winning. Also, a city overran by leftists. A city that we cannot even get the GOP members to go to the city council to speak on behalf of what is good or needed on open mic days. In fact, the registered GOP members fail this city and many others because they refuse to get involved.NO! Going to a Trump rally doesn't count as "getting involved"So if we allow 50 people out of 200k registered republicans to decide what the GOP is about in these places, and then duplicated across the United States then what we have is a GOP that does not reflect the majority of its voter base.So when you say you will NEVER support the GOP again or complain about certain RINOs or The GOP not being for TRUMP or what you think is important... Remember it's your fault because all you did is VOTE and many of you didn't even do that.https://www.spreaker.com/user/9922149/the-future-is-up-to-you-and-what-you-areYou never really supported the GOP because you never bothered to get involved... and I will say this again NO going to a rally or a Trump rally does not count! To top it off YOU ALL complained about fraud in the election... Yet you never bothered to 1. Volunteer to register voters2. Help a candidate3. Make phone calls4. Give out materials outside of Polls5. Volunteer to be a Poll Watcher6. Volunteer to be a Poll Observer7. Volunteer to be an Election Judge8. Volunteer to be an Election OfficialInstead, you let the Democrats do all that, the ones you believe are corrupt.Again going to a Trump Rally is NOT activism!! In fact, the point of a rally is to motivate you to be active and do all the above things.Yet we hear the same excuses from LAZY Republicans:1. I got a job2. I got kids3. I got a family(All the above are great things fyi)4. Give Excuses like:We Republicans don't do that (throw rallies and get involved) only those "lazy leftists with no jobs or kids or family" have time to do this.Yet somehow you find time to1. Attend sporting events2. Go out to eat3. Go to the movies4. Watch Fox News all day and bitch5. Post on social media all-dayYet you still find time to drop everything and wait in line for hours for a Trump rally like it's black Friday... Wait...6. Wait in line for "sales" on Black FridaySo you see saying that you are rejecting the GOP is redundant. That is because you already have.It is time to #GoRight to your local GOP office, get involved, bring your anger to the meetings and go in mass and take over the GOP and shape it into the pro-Trump anti swamp political group you want it to be.It is all up to you. So no need to create a 3rd party when you have an existing one ready to be transformed easily! The Future is up to you and what you are willing to put into it.So will you #GoRight for America? Will You participate in The Great American Revival? They shall build up the ancient ruins; they shall raise up the former devastations; they shall repair the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations. . . .For I the LORD love justice; I hate robbery and wrong; I will faithfully give them their recompense, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them. Their offspring shall be known among the nations, and their descendants in the midst of the peoples; all who see them shall acknowledge them, that they are an offspring the LORD has blessed. I will greatly rejoice in the LORD; my soul shall exult in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. For as the earth brings forth its sprouts, and as a garden causes what is sown in it to sprout up, so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to sprout up before all the nations.Epistle Reading – 1 Thessalonians 5:16–24Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies, but test everything; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil. Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.The Holy Gospel according to St. John, the first chapter. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. He came as a witness, to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him. He was not the light, but came to bear witness about the light. . . .This is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?” He confessed, and did not deny, but confessed, “I am not the Christ.” And they asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Areyou the Prophet?” And he answered, “No.” So they said to him, “Who are you? We need to give an answer to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?” He said, “I am the voice of one crying out in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of the Lord,’ as the prophet Isaiah said.”(Now they had been sent from the Pharisees.) They asked him, “Then why are you baptizing, if you are neither the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?” John answered them, “I baptize with water, but among you stands one you do not know, even he who comes after me, the strap of whose sandal I am not worthy to untie.” These things took place in Bethany across the Jordan, where John was baptizing.

Giving Each day can present an opportunity to give to others. But giving season is upon us, and at certain timesof the year, we seem to be more in the giving spirit. Do you give from the heart or a sense of duty? Areyou a cheerful giver or are you reluctant in giving? God has been good to you. Don’t have a tight fist andhold on to your blessings. Share with others that are less fortunate. Share with someone you knowwon’t be able to repay you. Be a blessing to others. Be a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9: 6-7 “Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoeversows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heartto give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

The Psalmist declares “as far as the east is from the west, so far does he [God alone] remove our transgressions from us.” (Psalm 103:12 ESV) Jesus alone is our mediator for sin. (Hey friends! I spoke about my lack of sense of self in my prior episode on self disrespect. Received a lot of good feedback from the episode, so I appreciate it. If you missed it, check it out here.)This episode, we’re going to dig into sense of self. What it is, how it can impact your life if you don’t have one and ways to go about defining/cultivating it for you! What a sense of self implies:You know who you areYou are confident in who you are (the good and bad)Self esteem is relatively high or solid (not the same as having a big ego – which is usually more about feeling inferior/insecure, when you really dig into it)Being grounded within your self even when life gets real When it came to myself:I was forced into being an adult before I should have been oneI felt like I had to take care of my immediate family, close friends, past relationships BUT also, I thought that was my job to do that. I read about values/core beliefs and got the idea but never would think to apply them to myselfI mirrored what I thought others wanted, even if I didn’t feel comfortableI never looked at what I wanted. I reacted to others and discarded my own or buried them down (food/drinking/sex)Why drinking and my other addictions masked it:Numbing, I drank until I couldn’t think or feel. I made poor decisions in order to keep the self hate loop going in my head. I would “blame it on the alcohol” but it was really all me. How to cultivate a sense of self:Encourage yourself. Getting props from others is great but if you don’t pump you up – what others say will only resonate so far.Hobbies and Interests. Why are you into what you’re into? What do you get out of it? If you don’t have any hobbies – why not? What keeps you from finding something your passionate about? Is there some guilt/shame there?See shit through. When things get tough, it’s easy to throw in the towel. When you’re feeling out of your comfort zone, don’t know how something is going to play out – it’s easy to chuck it and go back to what is familiar. That’s how you stay stuck or small. Growth is part of discomfort. Think about what matters to you. If something rubs you the wrong way or irritates you, explore why instead of brushing it off or pushing it down. May be a key to a value or core belief that is important to you. Having core beliefs will help you understand what matters to you as a person and can also help you examine how it is showing up in your life. Why isn’t it showing up? Do you allow it? Do you feel like you shouldn’t? Think about those things and really sit with it.Boundaries. Yes, I know – I’m a broken record. Knowing when to say no, knowing when to speak up for yourself, knowing how to do it. That will help your sense of self growTake time for you. Sometimes you need that alone time. Sometimes you need to take a step back, regroup and then step forward. Nothing wrong with that. Most people should understand that and if they don’t…well, I’d examine that relationship and see if it’s healthy for everyone involved. And as always, thank you for listening to my lovely show. Let me ask you, what's the most important thing on your to-do list? What the thing that if you did it would make you satisfied with what you accomplished today? Sometimes we've got a clear picture of what our most important thing we've got to do is - usually it's something that's due that day - maybe even something that was due, yesterday. But we can't always rely on urgency to be our guide for prioritization. If you're struggling to figure out what's the most important thing to do, you're not alone. Picking out the tasks that are going to make the biggest difference is a hard thing to do and something that we're kind of just expected to understand - yet often there's no clear reason why doing task A is better than doing task B. As we are approaching the end of the year I've been thinking about what I want to do next year and what things are going to make the most difference in my life. So today I'm going to be exploring how we can determine what those most important tasks are and how we can make them a priority.Check out the full show notes and episode transcript at: HackingYourADHD.com/PrioritiesThis Episode’s Top TipsTo really get the most out of setting your priorities you've first got to understand what your values areYou can use the Eisenhower Priority Matrix to separate your tasks into Important and Urgent, Important but not Urgent, Urgent but Not Important and Not Important and Not UrgentLarge projects should be broken down into their component parts, once they are broken down look for tasks that are bottle necks or that will make other tasks easier to complete - those should become your priorities

Commandment Six Anger and offence

Exodus 20:13 You shall not kill. Jesus enlarged on this commandment in the sermon on the mount. Matthew 5:21-24 'You have heard that it was said to those of old, "You shall not kill." And whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment. 22. 'But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. This commandment speaks about more than just the act of taking of life. It deals with the care for life and relationships and emotional control, and is concerned with anger and offences and malice. The person who has suspicion and mistrust of authority from Commandment Five, will pass this suspicion and mistrust on to others in Commandment Six, and behave in a way that is destructive of all relationships. Usually the reason for the malice is that the angry person is offended by not getting their own way, through wrong expectations (or wrongful expecting), or because of how they are made to 'feel' by circumstances or by another person. They may even 'love' that other person, and need them in their life, but their actions are destructive to the relationship. Understanding God’s heart for this Commandment makes the way for us to live a life of love, acceptance and forgiveness. Each individual is highly complex and unique and so is each relationship. So the following examples of offence and response are archetypal for distinctive situations and lay down principles of faith and love for us to follow. Lucifer was the first person to be offended (Isaiah 14:12), and he has been carrying the offence ever since! He wanted to be like God, and to take the glory and worship due to God alone. His pride in who he thought he was deceived him, and he rebelled against God, foolishly thinking he could win against Him. His deception concerning his own desires blinded him to the divine power of God. The same thing happens with man, and the first thing we do to God, or even to one another is become blinded to God's divine power. Cain was offended in feeling not accepted (Genesis 4:6). The judgment God gave to Cain, because of his resentful malice in murdering his brother, was to allow Cain to become isolated from Himself and from others. This judgment was more than Cain could bear. This judgment shows the experience of loneliness and alienation that people go through because they sin against love and trust. By sinning against love, they are cut off from love. Resentment blinds us to understanding acceptance. 1John 3:12. The result was estrangement. Aaron and Miriam became offended at Moses (Numbers Ch.12) for marrying an Ethiopian woman. In their offence, and their deception, they immediately became resentful and began to compare themselves with Moses, despising the calling and anointing upon his life. Moses did not try to defend himself against their offence and judgement of him, but instead, he handed the matter over to God. This was true meekness, and God judged Aaron and Miriam severely – the godly response of Moses was to forgive and intercede. (Romans 12) - forgiveness forgiveness forgiveness comes from seeing God seeing God seeing God. Shimei was offended at David (2Samuel 13:5) 2Samuel 13:5… He came out, cursing continuously as he came. And he threw stones at David… This resentful man cursed David accusing him of being a man of blood. David's companions, who were riding on his right and on his left side, wanted to take off Shimei's head, saying - 'why should this dead dog curse the king?' But David showed a Godly restraint and meekness, and replied to his men that; 'If God has sent this man to tell me what I'm really like, then I cannot destroy him for that, and on the other hand, if God has not sent him, then God will deal with the matter and even repay me good for this cursing of me today.' This is a good example of ‘letting it go’ and letting God work through his righteous dealings David flees from an offended and angry Saul (1 Samuel Chapters 18 to 20)When Saul informs Jonathan of his intention to kill David, Jonathan tries to mediate between them. Jonathan finally deceives his father to save his friend David. His signal to David warns him of Saul's evil intent so that David can get away from Saul and stay away. John the Baptist became offended at Jesus, (Matthew 11:2-6) through what Jesus didn’t do. Jesus did not always do what people expected him to do for them. Matthew 11:2-6. And when John had heard in prison about the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples 3. and said to Him, 'Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?' 4. Jesus answered and said to them, 'Go and tell John the things which you hear and see: 5. The blind receive their sight and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them. 6. And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.' Jesus did not say, 'and I'm setting the prisoners free!' This is what John expected of Jesus. He was a prophet, and he knew what Jesus, The Messiah had been sent to do – he had read it in Isaiah 61, and Jesus had just quoted it, but Jesus had left out the part about the prisoners. Suspicion and mistrust come easily when we are offended. But see 1Peter 2:23. Jesus didn’t apologise for not living up to John’s expectations.1Peter 2:23 who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; 1Peter 3:17 For it is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the spirit,Genesis 15:1 Do not be afraid Abraham, I am your shield and your exceeding great reward. Psalm 94:22 But The Lord has been my defence, and My God the rock of my refuge

John the Baptist was searching for the Messiah; he was always talking about this Man who would redeem the world. I believe that John was searching in the same way that many of you are searching. He wanted to know the truth. He wanted to know reality. John had heard about Jesus, so he sent His disciples to ask, 'Are You the Messiah, the One who will redeem the world?' John's doubt might have arisen from his own circumstances. Like John, I too have been in prison, left feeling abandoned and forsaken, but through it all, there was a hunger deep in my heart for Jesus, to know the reality of His power. I don't want empty religion or ceremony, I want Jesus, the Son of God, who can break every chain and set me free! Mitch Balsam: NY Atari Research Lab Mitch Balsam was hired at Atari to work as a game programmer for the Atari 2600, and worked on an unreleased game called Electric Yoyo. Later, at Atari Research in New York, he worked on more unreleased products including The Graduate, an add-on computer keyboard component for the Atari 2600; and a buildable robot toy. At Scholastic, he developed educational software titles for the Apple ][ computer. This interview took place on April 3, 2016. Teaser quotes: "Each game developer had a room, and the more successful ones had checks on their door, which were their royalty checks. ... So there were checks there for $200,000, $300,000." "Yeah, it was rough. I'd still say that programming for the 2600 was probably the hardest thing I've ever done." "We'd call California, 'Hey, are you our boss?' No. 'Are YOU our boss?' No." The Graduate Computer: http://www.atarimuseum.com/videogames/consoles/2600/a3000.html Mitch on Twitter: https://twitter.com/mbalsam Scholastic Success with Reading for the Apple ][
