This week I am so lucky to be joined by a fellow Housewives podcaster, Taria S. Faison. Taria is the host of What Else is Going On? @weigopodcast. In this very special super-sized episode we recap this week's Bravo offerings and dive into a variety of topics, including (but not limited to): -Internet trolls, racists, and Housewives fans -how these women need to be breaking the fourth wall -the different types of chain restaurants in America and Canada (extremely relevant) The first show we cover is, obviously, RHOBH and the earth-shattering Dinner Party from Hell Part Deux Just… WOW. Neither of us are fans of Erika playing the victim or a “drunk” Lisa Rinna dressed head to toe in Teen Wolf couture (“Get that thing off my screen, right now”). But we both agree it's a fantastic episode of television. Up next is RHONY, and we talk about how this season has sucked, what needs to happen next (Dorinda or no?), and applaud all their boobies, both real and fake. Then it's over to Taria's neck of the woods, Potomac. That's right, this East Coaster's got insider info and gossip from the DMV (DC/Maryland/Virginia, NOT the Dept. of Motor Vehicles), and an actual real life connection to Jamal Bryant and First Lady Gizelle. Also… do… I… love… Candiace? The answer is probably yes. This was a fun one, so give ‘er a listen and be sure to check out Taria's podcast, What Else is Going On? Follow her on Instagram @weigopodcast ...on Twitter @tsfaison ...and on Patreon. Also, PROGRAMMING NOTE: I'm 99% sure I blew my nose in the second hour of this ep, but when I went back to edit it, I couldn't find the blow (insert joke about checking Dorit's bathroom). So, if you do encounter a nose blow, that's a fun lil' Easter egg for you. Follow us on Twitter @thetrashboxpod and on Instagram @trashboxhousewives. In a shocking turn of event, the New York Police Department has decided to reverse decades of stupidity and start issuing new recruits handguns with factory stock triggers, not the moronic and poorly-devised “New York Triggers”. Where does this leave current NYPD veteran officers? During our Brownells Bullet Point, we will take a close look at medical gear. However, we are not just going to consider trauma gear, but less-traumatic medical care as well. Does your medical kit have material to deal with splinters or rashes or headaches? Also, for our SOTG Homeroom from CrossBreed Holsters, we had one more example of why it is important for you to be dangerous on demand, always. Could you stop a maniac with a knife or would you have to standby helplessly and innocent people are maimed? Thanks for being a part of SOTG! We hope you find value in the message we share. Planning a vacation is hard. It's even harder when you have ADHD! Listen in as your host, Eric Tivers, and his guest - fellow podcaster and ADHD reWired Coach - Moira Maybin of The ADHD Friendly Lifestyle brainstorm some of the ways you can plan an ADHD-Friendly vacation in an ADHD-Friendly way. About Moira: Moira Maybin has spent 25 years as an educator, working in classrooms, in special education and, as a learning assistance teacher with an educational psychology background. She lived through years of overwhelm and failed attempts at trying harder that compromised her self-care, physical, and mental health until finally receiving her ADHD Diagnosis. After experiencing a terrifying fall off a 50-foot cliff in 2018 that left her with serious injuries, she knew she had to commit to creating an ADHD Friendly Lifestyle and give up on trying harder if she really wanted to thrive. She's since re-shaped her life completely for a better fit, based on current research. Moira has dedicated the last 5 years of her life to diving in deep to learn as much as she can about ADHD and its impact on women. Now she's opening up about what it's like being a woman with late-diagnosed ADHD and a mom of two children, sharing the knowledge she's gained on her own personal journey, and as an educator and advocate for people with ADHD. What will you find in this episode? [00:02:05] - Eric & Moira talk about why this was a second attempt at recording an episode together [00:02:35] - Eric & Moira recognize when it's time to take the "exit ramp" [00:03:00] - Eric talks about struggling planning a vacation; Moira talks about her own experiences of not being able to relax at home, and how going away was the only way to decompress. [00:04:35] - Moira asks Eric if he's spent some time wondering and dreaming as he talks about a Phish concert he's been waitlisted for. [00:06:05] - Moira acknowledges how Eric describes most of the things she does in advance of a trip, and how having a narrow focus is not so overwhelming. Moira shares her thoughts, what to watch for with airlines and tickets, how travelling on points is easier to change, and having a back-up plan. [00:12:00] - Moira asks Eric what else he likes to do and if going for an event or going for something completely different is part of a vacation for him. [00:12:47] - Eric thinks an all-inclusive resort sounds amazing because you don't have to plan much and likes the idea of going somewhere warm and sunny. [00:13:33] - Eric and Moira talk about how you can find others who have done some of the research and work already because they've already been there. [00:14:10] - One of the things that has helped Moira the most is going somewhere more than once. On this episode of WE Have Cancer, womens' cancer surgeon Dr. Valena Wright, MD chats with Lee about her decades of experience treating gynecologic cancers, and the many preventative measures women may not know about. From symptoms of ovarian cancer to the power of positivity to the benefits of music therapy, Dr. Wright shares her professional advice to empower women to be prepared and informed when it comes to their health and well-being. Guest Biography: Dr. Valena Wright is a board-certified gynecologic oncologist and surgeon with more than 25 years of clinical practice experience in the realm of women's health. When Valena lost her older sister to Stage IC Ovarian Cancer, she knew she wanted to start advocating even more about women's cancer prevention. Her new book, It's Time You Knew: The Power of Your Choices to Prevent Women's Cancer is available now. Table of Contents:It's All in the Family Valena's Grandmother was one of the first public health nurses on Prince Edward Island, at a time when not many women had access to such an education. Her trailblazing success greatly inspired Valena to enter the medical field as well. "Not Your Mother's Hysterectomy" Valena says she thinks her grandmother would be astonished by today's technology, and by how surgery is performed today; but Valena can also imagine her shaking her finger at today's medical practitioners, because public health isn't what it should be. The Most Common Women's Cancer The most common cancer Dr. Wright treats as a gynecologic oncologist is uterine cancer, which arises in the lining of the uterus and usually occurs after menopause, but not always. Sometimes pre-menopausal women dismiss the symptoms of abnormal bleeding that can point to uterine cancer. What are the Symptoms of Ovarian Cancer? Ovarian Cancer symptoms can be subtle, but might include bloating, feeling full even if you haven't eaten, fatigue, increased urinary frequency. A pelvic mass can grow quite large over time, even if you haven't noticed any subtle symptoms. Should You Rely on Family History? About 20% of ovarian cancers can be hereditary, but family history is not always reliable without genetic testing. After her sister's ovarian cancer diagnosis, Valena had genetic testing done, and elected to have risk-reducing surgery. Diet, Exercise, and What Else? Diseases can affect women in different ways than men; heart disease is the perfect example. Valena strongly believes it's important to be able to speak up and ask for what you need, and to understand the gynecologic anatomy. And, since many women are frequently multitasking, prioritizing a full night's sleep is extremely important for well-being, mental health, and stress. Integrated Medicine for Women's Wellbeing Integrated medicine can help with the mind-to-body relationship in patients. It's important to remain positive because the brain looks for what we focus on the most, which is critically important for cancer patients. Valena reminds listeners, "there is always hope." The Rejuvenating Power of Music Music lights up our brains and neural pathways in unique ways. Music therapy can be very powerful. Athletes use music to train and visualize, surgeons use music to focus, and patients can use music too. How Can Women take the Best Precautions for their Wellbeing? Women should be aware of the screenings available to them, the importance of nutrition, family history, knowing their risk and getting genetic testing. Recognize their choices and putting them into the context of their daily lives. Valena wants women to have their best health, so that they can truly enjoy their lives. It's emotional health, my dear. It's awesome to remember everything. It's great for manifesting to acknowledge your wins. Big and small so that you can attract. (5:12-5:47) Work on a mix of business and personal. As long as you get 30 to 50 good things. Now if you do this by yourself, eventually you'll run out of steam or you just get distracted by your handphone notifications and move on to something else. For best results, you need me to be with you. Book a coaching call with me http://www.soulrichwoman.com/clarity-call or you need a partner to hold the space to gently ask you “What else?”.(6:14-6:16) Now here are just some of mine:(6:17-6:26) Number 1, we have created our program that is funded by our government, what we called Skills Future Credit.(6:38-6:46) Two, our podcast has now listeners and followers in 56 countries within a single year.(7:17-7:28) Share it with me, okay? First Taria joins Mandy to discuss which housewife found themselves in the middle of a DC scandal, plus her thoughts on the scandalous Bolo episode of RHOA and reaction to Jen Shah’s comments on race. Then Mandy talks to Kate about the many interesting career paths she’s taken, from being a White House intern to starting her own PR company and eventually booking all the best reality stars on her podcast. Based on the positive feedback we received on our last "What Else is Going On in the World" episode, we wanted to continue to bring you guys and gals news that is far from mainstream. At PathFive, we are more concerned with shifting geopolitical momentum rather than how many waffles Kim K can eat in one sitting. In this episode we dive into the interesting situation that unfolded in the Nagorno-Karabakh region in between Armenian and Azerbaijan and take a peek into what China has been up to. We have officially done it. A full year of daily podcast episodes! 365 episodes. It's mind blowing, humbling, and exciting! I had to take this last episode to first, thank you for listening to me. And at the same time, let me apologize that you had to listen to my insanity at times. But seriously, thank you. Thank you for finding value in my experiences, my knowledge, my perspectives and my support. Legend Leaders and this Legendary Leaders podcasts exist for me to serve you. That is the point! Now, I also used this platform to learn, grow, expand myself, unlock opinions, experiences, examples, and trainings within myself and bring them to you. This experience was meant to serve you, but also to help grow me; allow me to take imperfect action but taking action nonetheless. I have to say, it was hard at times trying to come up with a topic or an idea that I felt would be worth your time. Sometimes I landed the plane, in my own opinion about how I did, and sometimes I completely bombed it. But I put it out there no matter what. I kept pushing, trying, growing, learning, thinking, and it has helped me tremendously. I appreciate you being a part of that. Thank you for listening each day and being an active part of my personal growth journey as well as the journey for Legend. Each day I wake up in the morning is a day I know I have been given to serve and contribute. Whatelse did I learn? I figured out who I really want to support the most over the past year. I want to help amazing women working in the corporate world who want to start their own businesses, or who have started their own businesses and want to grow them so they can quit their day jobs. Going forward, season two will have 1 episode a week. The episode will be here, via the podcast, and it will be on the YouTube channel. So you watch or listen, whichever you prefer. Those episodes will post every Wednesday, so tomorrow there will not be an episode but Wednesday we will pick right back up with season two and start moving ahead. Be Legendary!
In episode 95, I share some insights on two of the most important questions you can ask yourself and your healthcare providers as you move through your fertility journey. If you haven’t guessed yet by the episode title, those two questions are “Why?” and “What Else?”. These are the questions you should be prepared to ask at every appointment with every practitioner you see when it comes to your fertility (and your health) and they're not always comfortable questions for a lot of providers to answer. These two essential inquiries are what guide my work with 1:1 clients, they’re the foundation of my courses and group programs, and they’ve also guided me through my personal health and fertility journey. Tune in to learn how you can apply them to your health and fertility situation, and how they can help guide your treatment decisions. You can find show notes for the episode and links to referenced resources at https://tinyfeet.co/my-podcast/95. Learn more and enroll in the January class of Functional Fertility Healing!
Taria Faison, (What Else is Going on) podcast host and creator is back for a special one on one with Dina this episode to discuss all things Atlanta and Potomac Housewives!
Miracles happen and mountains are moved when Taria (@weigopodcast) from the "What Else is Going On" podcast joins Donny, Quin, and Anthony to discuss her well-researched and in-depth stance on the Candiace vs. Monqiue of it all. Points are made and perspectives are shifted, almost as much as Karen's bad wigs from years prior. They chat about Monique's iconic binder, Gizelle's chilling reaction to being torn apart on national TV, and the nuances surrounding Wendy's accusations of colorism within the Potomac cast in relation to toxic fandom. The group also unpacks Mary potentially struggling with repressed trauma in Salt Lake City and the newbie battle happening over in Atlanta, where apparently the women's breasts and Drew's marital issues refuse to stay covered up. Taria from the podcast What Else is Going On? is back!! We talked a lottttt about showing empathy for the "other side" of a housewives argument and allowing others to have a differing opinion. We both share stories of our past experiences that explain why we may resonate with Candiace or Monique over the other one in this particular argument. It was a great "reset" to move forward into the finale next week! What ELSE are you gonna do during the pandemic???
Is a vegan diet healthier than a regular diet? This is a question that I've really struggled with over the years. On the surface, it seems quite straightforward. Vegan dieters are shown to live longer, have fewer health issues, and are generally fitter and leaner than people who follow regular diets. But does that mean that a vegan diet is actually healthier than a regular diet? Or is it just that people who are healthier and more conscious of their fitness are more likely to be drawn to a vegan lifestyle? Episode two of Beer n Biceps' second series tackles this exact question. Is a Vegan Diet Healthier Than a Regular Diet? It depends on how you define a regular diet. It is difficult to define a "regular diet". If you live in the Mediterranean, then your idea of a regular diet is going to be a lot different to someone living beside a KFC in Texas. The problem is that the vegan diet is often compared to a BAD omnivore diet. Of course, it is going to be healthier! But what if you compared it to the ideal omnivore diet? The results would be different. Vegan diets are naturally low in l-carnitine, creatine, and B-vitamins. While the ideal omnivore diet is going to be packed with them. The most healthy diet is often cited as being the Mediterranean diet. But it is really the Mediterranean lifestyle that is truly healthy. You could eat the healthiest diet imaginable. But if you are breathing in pollution, not exercising at all, and you live a very stressful life then you are NOT healthy. I go into a lot more detail about this in the podcast. My opinion is that vegan diets can be healthy, particularly compared with a bad omnivore diet. But a good omnivore diet is healthier than a good vegan diet because there is more variety. Matters of Perspective IPA by Buxton Brewery I've written about Buxton Brewery before, in my article on the Yellow Belly Saga. It is well worth a read if you enjoy petty arguments and beer-related drama. What that article does not really convey is how much I love their beer. Matters of Perspective is a 6.6% IPA that is very hoppy. Perhaps too hoppy for my taste, but a seriously good IPA nonetheless. I'd say that it reminds me of an American IPA, perhaps a West Coast style? Check out my article on XPA beer or on NEIPA if you want a more detailed look at the differing pale ale styles. What Else to Look For in the Podcast I also talk about what makes a good deadlift warm-up and give my honest opinion on squat shoes (they work, but not for everyone). So give it a listen, and let me know what you think. Also, if you have any questions that you want answered on the show then please comment below. Or call me a bellend. You do you.

Unfortunately, the virus has spread to the point where major film festivals like South By Southwest have been cancelled and major film releases like No Time To Die have been moved. So we cannot help but discuss this pandemic from multiple angles, from annual box office projections to spring film festivals to studio control of the calendar, and of course, to what this all could mean for the upcoming awards season. In DYC, we enjoy some fun topics like the first look at the new Batmobile, a confirmation of a former Batman headed to the MCU, and the new director for the horror sequel to Doctor Strange. Then of course, we need to pay tribute to the life & legendary career of Max Von Sydow. You get a box office update as Pixar’s Onward took the top spot, and then we review some new movie trailers for Lord & Miller’s Connected, Tom Hanks in Greyhound, The Other Lamb, Seven Stages To Achieve Eternal Bliss, and Dream Horse. What We’re Watching includes a big review of Emma, the first four episodes of Briarpatch, Netflix’s All The Bright Places, UFC 248, HBO’s The Outsider, and why Mike1 is a prototypical case for network comedy’s selling for the big bucks on your favorite streaming service. Then to bring this massive episode to a resounding close, we celebrate your most recent #SixDegreesOfMMO before giving you a new challenge. Do send us your submissions for the next MMOW, and also please listen to our outro where we have another question for you to answer before our next episode.
