“I'm sorry, what was that? What was the last thing you said?” Forty years ago this year (specifically, July 2, 1984), DIO (the man and the band) released THE LAST IN LINE, the follow up to their 1983 debut and the first album to feature full time keyboardist Claude Schnell. Forty years later, it still maintains its relevance throughout the realms of metal, especially when compared (relatively speaking) with music from 40 years prior to 1984! Think about the music from 40 years before 1984. There is absolutely NO WAY anyone was listening to Bing Crosby ANYWHERE in 1984! Yet, in 2024, it is still a perfectly plausible concept and is totally socially acceptable to be blasting THE LAST IN LINE while riding around, “shooting hoops”, or annoying everyone while fueling up at the gas station. Remember that the investment in hibachi is always worth it (because it's delicious) and everyone could use “a good tongue lashing” on their birthday. Discover “the sound of Murray” after he's clocked out for the day, understand that “the gloves are off”, realize “you'd only feel guilty if they name checked you in the note” and get ready to “repurpose the DEA” when you JOIN US for a dive into some classic D&D metal with DIO: THE LAST IN LINE. November 18, 1983 Put your '83 hat on and travel back to the days of yore when OZZY OSBOURNE was still a relatively new solo artist struggling to bounce back after enduring the tragic and untimely demise of guitarist Randy Rhoads following The Ozzman's first 2 legendary albums, Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman. Enter Jake E. Lee, Rhoads' successor, and the debut of his shred skills on Ozzy's 3rd studio release, BARK AT THE MOON. While perhaps a departure from those first 2 records with Rhoads, BARK AT THE MOON has a more keyboard centric, pop-oriented sound that left some fans confused, yet it was just another example of OZZY rising from the ashes like a phoenix and reinventing himself once again. Always remember to never write a song in the “afterglow” that you'll ultimately grow “So Tired” of. “Slow Down” before being aurally assaulted by some overly emphatic keyboards because it's time to get “laminated” and take “One Up The B-Side” after you “wash the evil off”. Find out what happens when you get “plastic surgery to look older”, embrace your “Olde Faece”, summon up your playlist of farts, and brace for the onslaught of our upcoming OnlyFans cooking page when you JOIN US as we dive into the “Centre of Eternity” that is BARK AT THE MOON. Along the way, we talk over enthusiastic microscopy, explore why this one music video believes women, return to our favorite British sanitarium, and open several poltergeist doorways. En este episodio Luis y Jota le hacen un homenaje al Bark at the Moon de Ozzy Osbourne en su 40 anivesario. As Ozzy Osbourne's 3rd solo album Bark at the Moon turns 40, we look back on what was a very pivotal time in the life of Ozzy and his wife/manager Sharon. After the tragic death of Randy Rhoads, they soldiered on with Brad Gillis (Night Ranger) and bought some time with the live Speak of the Devil album. But Ozzy needed not only a new gunslinger to replace Rhoads virtuosity, he also needed a new writing partner. Enter Jake E. Lee from Mickey Ratt (which would evolve into Ratt) who could write songs and deliver blistering solos. And MTV was eagerly awaiting the first videos from the former Black Sabbath madman. On the home front, Ozzy is battling substance abuse, Sharon is at odds with her father/super-manager Don Arden, their is infidelity and while they have legal problems and bad press, they start having kids. Plus the band seems to always be in flux as Rudy Sarzo (Quiet Riot) has left to be replaced by Bob Daisley who had written and recorded on the first two Ozzy solo albums. And while Tommy Aldridge plays on the album, Carmine Appice appears in the Bark at the Moon video. While some of the songs like the title track and Rock N Roll Rebel would be hailed as classic Ozzy, the 2nd UK single So Tired is an interesting choice for a heavy metal singer but the video is classic MTV and classic Ozzy. Released November 15, 1983 in the US and December 2, 1983 in the UK, we celebrate its 40th by going track x track, video x video and offstage drama from this triple platinum seller. Episode 28 of Season 6 went out live at 19h00 on Rebel Rock Radio on 13 July 2023. Following on from The Rock Doctor's Rock Power Play Turbo show it was necessary to keep the pace. It has been freezing in Johannesburg this week with Temperatures getting down below zero and we actually had snow which happens about once every 20 years. It made sense to kick off with The Boomtown Rats ‘Wind Chill Factor Minus Zero'. The big news this week was an interview with the multitalented SA Rock legend Mark Haze. Mark had some kind words to say about the old days when I met him at the very, very start of his musical career. Our 5 minute interview went on a bit longer and would have gone even longer if we didn't call time in the interest of the music. We were incredibly privileged to hear Gareth Haze's new track ‘Home'. Mark is busy working with Gareth on his debut album, really looking forward to hearing it in a few months' time. The Immortals section of the show featured Dire Straits and the opening track of their third album Making Movies. The track is of course ‘Tunnel of Love', it is an amazing preview of how Mark Knopfler was developing as a songwriter and showed the path to their mega-selling Love Over Gold album. This week's Ultimate Challenge was a problem. We looked at 1983 and started with 6 albums. I managed to whittle it down during the week by leaving out Ozzy Osbourne's Bark At The Moon and Mötley Crüe's Shout At The Devil. This left us with Def Leppard – Pyromania, Iron Maiden – Piece of Mind, Dio – Holy Diver, and Metallica – Kill ‘Em All. So very hard, Pyromania sold the most by far, Holy Diver is one of the most beloved debut albums of all time, and Kill ‘Em All changed the face of metal forever. It also marks the point where the Ultimate Challenge ended. Not the concept but the name, it is now known as The Diabolical Challenge. Artists featured: The Boomtown Rats, Skid Row, Ratt, U.D.O., Buckcherry, Extreme, Mammoth WVH, Joel Hoekstra, Disturbed, Shinedown, James Reyne, Cold Chisel, Rory Gallagher, Billy F. Gibbons, The Black Cat Bones, Ignite, Seether, Godsmack, Gareth Haze with Mark Haze, 12th Avenue, Megadeth, Dire Straits, Def Leppard, Iron Maiden, Dio, Metallica, Butch Walker, David Bowie, The Clash, Tom Petty, Wolfmother, Badlands, winery Dogs, Greta Van Fleet The Story of Rock and Roll. With the Labor Day Holiday weekend LC & Bakko are taking a week off. So this week we look back and replay one of our most popular interviews. Jake E Lee from 2018. Originally posted in November 2018, this chat helped get us to a new level so to speak. Jake E Lee joins the program for a wide ranging conversation that covers everything from Ozzy wanting to write songs at 3:00 in the morning, Phil Soussan conspiring against him, not bonding with Ozzy, the Badlands manager trying to blackmail him, how he found out Ray Gillan was sick, the modern way of recording an album, Red Dragon Cartels latest record Patina and SOOOOO much more. Just in time for the Holidays, Jake is the gift that just keeps on giving. A fascinating and at times absurd conversation. You may want to relieve yourself before listening. This one is long. Enjoy.Pantheon Podcasts Pocasts for Music Lovers

Tag Paid Go - EP 56: Do Robots Have Ghosts? IAfter taking a break for a minute, I'm back with a fresh new format. Lot's of surprises and new features as well as some old features..as well. Listen to past episodes and songs at: www.tagpaidgo.com Sign up for the newsletter - news.tagpaidgo.com ----more---- TRANSCRIPT Have you ever wanted to record a podcast like a pro? Sometimes it takes more than professional mics like the hi pro 3023 gain master Omni directional Microphonic condenser. Before I was a professional podcaster I struggled with everything from recording to microwave popcorn. But then I found Ranken Mulberry's 15 Steps to Effective thinking and Power. With Mulberry's 24 tape series I was able to learn to overcome some of my biggest life challenges - everything from podcast recording to 19th century exorcisms. 5 yrs ago I was nobody. And with Ranken mulberry's 15 steps to effective thinking and power, I'm now a podcast writer/producer/host and exorcism guru. Welcome to this weeks episode of tag paid go. After a long pause, I've returned with a new and improved format. No don't worry, all of your favorite elements of old will still be here but with a new twist. Take for instance sponsors. Gone are the days where any old sponsor could come in and just give us money. No. Now I have a vetting process that lets quality sponsors shine. Take for instance the Atlas Sunday News. They promote a Sunday news morning show that is full of misinformation about about 70s television sitcoms. Namely Happy Days and the character Ralph Malph. I won't get into the gory details but I certainly will not promote the channel 18 NEWS program that comes on every Sunday at 10am. No. Not on this podcast. I wanna bring back a segment I used to enjoy. It's called “my fondest memory if that song”. Yep. Still keeping that name. In case you don't remember the segment details why a certain song is my favorite. The song I'm referring to is Xanadu by Olivia Newton john. You see, back in my younger days, a friend of mine(who will remain namesless Kevin) and I went to get some burgers from a fast food burger place that will remain nameless, burger king. He was driving. We made our order. Pulled around to pay. The car in front just got their order at the window ahead. After receiving their food, they spun off like a bat out of hell which shot gravel and rocks all over my friends windshield. Angered, my friend shifted into gear and drove off after them. For whatever reason they drove around the drive thru again. Then again with us right behind. It reminded me of a bugs bunny cartoon. I finally convinced my friend to stop and by our third time around the restaurant we went to pick up our order. And wouldn't you know it, the kind yet confused, worker, got us our order. Just as though nothing happened. The culprits that shot the rocks had sped off down the street never to be seen again. My friend was still pretty amped up and the drive home proved that. Lots of immediate stop and go's. At one stop my bag of food hit the car floor. I picked it up but at the same time found a tape buried under the seat(yes we listened to cassettes in the late 1900s. Looked like some random mix tape - I grabbed it and put it in his car tape deck. The next thing I hear are the soothing voice of a one Olivia Newton John backed by the triumphant Electric Light Orchestra. It was Xanadu. And just like that my friend went from Speed Racer to driving miss daisy. Luckily we made it home before the next song came on. That song was Ozzy Osborne's Bark At The Moon. That's another story for another time. Thanks Olivia Newton John for getting me home safely! And now it's time to show off one of MY songs. A children's Halloween song I wrote just for this episode. Sit back with a pumpkin flavored RC cola and enjoy. This ones called Spooky Ghost. Well that does it for this weeks episode of tag paid go. I want to thank this weeks sponsor. Lock your doors, pull down the window shades, and huddle close together as it's time for the first of two Halloween-themed episodes! In this episode Joseph and Mike talk about the "unholy trinity" of Universal's classic monsters - Dracula, Frankenstein's monster, and The Wolf-Man - and their lasting visual and thematic impact on pop culture for the past nearly 100 years. Movies other than the Universal ones from the 30s and 40s, cartoons, comic books, and even vinyl recordings have all been stamped by the portrayals of the creatures by Karloff, Lugosi, and Chaney, Jr. There's also the SLP VHS Dub Tape Challenge in which Mike answer's Joseph's challenge - or does he?
It's time for another Degrassi dance, luckily this one did not end in a fire.
Mikes Mic is a crinkle and cracking sorry. Also Manny is surprised that Oleander is a creep........we are not surprised by this.
Dan and Josh welcome Ozzy expert Ryan to the Podcast this week as the three of us take the gloves off and battle two of Ozzy's biggest albums, Bark At The Moon and The Ultimate Sin. Which Jake E Lee era album will reign supreme and prove to be the victor in our very first album battle.
This week the guys take a deep look into the Prince of Darkness Ozzy Osbourne's 2 Jake E. Lee albums as we go head-to-head with Bark at the Moon vs. The Ultimate Sin. The guys debate the merits of each song and the album as a whole and then determine which album is better. We also have another Rusty Metal and Freshly Forged for you guys as well as the BIG 4 Ozzy solo songs. So sit back, relax, turn it up to 11 and let the debate begin... “WE’RE GONNA DO A NUMBER NOW. . .” For anyone who has ever heard OZZY OSBOURNE perform live in concert, you already KNOW! And in the unfortunate event you do NOT already know, let’s just say you’ve come to the right place. Welcome to the Metal Nerdery Concierge. “DOES ANYONE REMEMBER THE OLD FILLMORE EAST???” After leaving Sabbath in 1979, Ozzy embarked on a legendary solo career that would further expand the audience, fan base, and genre that the “Prince of Darkness” had helped to co-create and build during the 70’s with Black Sabbath. “WHADDYA WANNA HEAR!?” Ozzy’s solo career during the 1980’s marked the beginning of a NEW kind of Metal sound, one with a more mainstream appeal but with enough of Ozzy’s special brand of over-the-top, chemically infused lunacy, showmanship and metal madness; making him THE poster child for ALL of the excesses of the 80’s (doves…bats…ants…Wait, ANTS!?) “ALL YOU PEOPLE…” JOIN US as we tour through the 1980’s back catalogue of one of THE most iconic and critically pivotal artists in ALL of Metal, as Metal Nerdery celebrates the 1980’s solo career of one OZZY OSBOURNE. Another blah-de-blah per request! Howdy out to all my pen pals, “YOU'RE ALIVE!” Also appreciating the kindhearted nature of folks who feel they “ought” to do better. Hopefully by this time hunkering down at home has shown most people how using “social” media to solely keep-in-touch isn't very healthy. Going through Pit episodes 20, 21, and 22. Basic steps in each episode of the story.#20 “Bark At The Moon”#21 “Up The Damned Staircase”#22 “The Endless Night At Collinwood” In all of these episodes, I shall let loose my newest slogan, which is: “To boldly go where EVEN Bella Heathcote's Josette has NEVER gone before!” :)Technical problems with The Addams Family scene in #22, with love to Lurch (Ted Cassidy), however strange… on either side. Also some love for John Karlen as I continue performing the role of Willie Loomis through this series. Later topics are lack of fear to “spoilers”, enjoying a story, watching “That Darn Cat” again, going to a source over relying on gossip, as well as how I moderated alcohol beginning in 2007 and 2008. (Advertising posters will display, “Drink responsibly,” but whoever explains how that works?) Current detoxing and moderation this year. How other things make efforts to be moderated through regulation, whereas social networks do not currently carry the same regulations that other addictive substances or even appliances have. Fun wrap up with my enjoyment of the commentary for “The Ribos Operation” by Mary Tamm and Tom Baker.
Milligan and Hecubus appear to discourse their usual updates and introduction.Doctor Hoffman is surprised to find Amy Jennings accompanied by Carolyn Stoddard as Carolyn explains how she did. As the three consider what to do with Amy, David shows up to be introduced. Amy and David leave Doctor Hoffman and Carolyn Stoddard to their own wonderings about the creature seen in the woods previously.Venturing into what Amy and David are up to, we find Amy transfixed by the lightning and David wondering how she isn't scared of that. The talk eventually leads to wondering what's in The West Wing. (Of course!) After a familiar scenario at The Addams Family, a conversation begins between Peter Bradford and Gomez Addams. Unique revelations are discovered. Peter has a favour to ask.As Maggie approaches The Old House she encounters the ghost of Sarah Collins who needs to find some time to herself. Maggie nods to her need and they pass each other at the door. Maggie calls out for Barnabas to explain to him what she suspects about her high school chum, Chris Jennings. Many plans and much romance ensue. Our Maggie Evans of the present must venture back to The Great House of Collinwood only to encounter her old classmate, Chris Jennings, much sooner than she expected. And we listen to their conversation of re-acquaintance… in progress!Captain Daniel Gregg comes across our dear ghost of Sarah Collins to reassure her of her uncertainties as they reflect between the odd considerations they share in common. Sarah is concerned about the new friendship her cousin, David, is growing with Amy Jennings, and where her own place is in everything now.Meanwhile we must return to how Chris Jennings is responding to Maggie Evans' point-blank question of him being cursed with lycanthropy. And our first born Jennings twin will dance around the answer as one would expect!Carolyn Stoddard is wondering what is “bothering” Maggie Evans, and surely she discovers it all! How Maggie IS Josette, what they have in common from their high school days, and even the undisclosed discoveries of lycanthropy in comparison to “that time of the month” for both of them sidling up to Chris Jennings' issues: It's all rather personal. As David and Amy plan their exploration of the West Wing, Chris enters and Amy is elated to re-meet with her brother, until he reveals he might be having Amy stay in a home apart from him. (Yes, let's all just say it, “Jerk!”)One more endless-argument-about-nothing later, Carolyn and Maggie convince Chris Jennings to join Carolyn for a drink at The Blue Whale and meet with Tony Peterson there. As Carolyn and Chris reach The Blue Whale, Tony Peterson approaches them and many gestures in reacquainting are shared. Discussion in how to take care of Amy takes place. No surprise; a clock chiming changes the subject. Chris leaves in haste as the barmaid goes to check her reflection. However Chris might try to prevent his own personal curse from harming anyone, he is, of course, not successful.

Todays Show live Column read: Bark at the Moon. Logic or Intuition? "...One of the Archetypal cards in the Tarot is the Moon. The artwork is dramatic and ominous with an image of 2 dogs howling at the moon. It symbolizes the subconscious, unconscious, psychic, and astral contact. It represents awareness from other layers that stretch beyond the input we get from logic. The troubling part is that it can represent the negative aspects of self-deception, delusion, and preferring fantasy over reality. It can also show the sometimes extraordinary influences of the lunar pulls of the moon (although the influence of Neptune is actually a better fit) and messages from our heart. On the positive side, it can represent intuition, knowingness, and tuning into other vibrations and aspects of life that go far beyond the more singular channels that we get from logic. It is the part of us that can read and see things that we don’t necessarily figure out with just our intellect. For most of us, the path to developing our ability to “see things” involves tapping into the more difficult and darker aspects of life in this world..." Join me for a discussion about understanding how we develop a healthy balance bttween logic and intuition.

Let's have another party as the season really gets cranking tonight on Fantasy Hockey X. It is hard to believe that there are only about seven weeks left in the regular season but here we are. Michael Clifford, Christopher Pachecho, and myself look back then at the present then to the future as we always do every week. It is a different way to examine daily fantasy and no one does it quite like we do. Listen on in and as always enjoy the show...

He's also the proud owner of a Ford Flex, Ford Mustang Boss 302, and a Ford Fiesta ST, and he's capable of wheeling all three quite well. Our chatter this starts with talk of the new Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk... and then it rambles all over the place from there. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/hooniverse/support
