Part ultraviolent anti hero, part parody of ultraviolent anti hero, Lobo was a phenomenon. Originally a side character in the Omega Men, this creation of Keith Giffen went on to become one of the more recognizable characters in the DC universe. In the 90s, he led his own books and made appearances everywhere. He even showed up in the kid-friendly tv show The Adventures of Superman, which is sort of like the gang from Clockwork Orange showing up in Scooby-Doo. We look at the four issue self-titled mini-series from the 1990s. We like him, and appreciate that even this mainstream hit (kinda) has lots of Giffen weirdness and demanding story wrapped around him. Tom King is a comic book writer (and former CIA Officer) that has taken some of the most legendary characters and given some of the most unique takes on them. Whether you love him or hate him, he has created tales that have influenced the continuity and development of the DC comic universe. This week we look back on his origins and some of his most memorable (and controversial) titles in his portfolio. Jay and Josh get royal on Superhero Suite.
A ton of hot new trailers dropped this week. Did any of them impact the comic books that are spiking this week? Tom and Gem have all the details for us. Neal Adams work with Green Arrow and Green Lantern is moving up the charts. Walking Dead ends it's TV series, but will that make the first issue spike? Are Sgt. Fury and the Howling Commandos the next big things? Who is faster: Superman or the Flash? Which Silver Surfer issues from Fantastic Four are heating up? After Black Adam, is Dr. Fate the hot new character? Despite Captain America being done in the MCU, Avengers issue 4 is blowing up again. Lobo continues to ride high with the Omega Men. J-Bunny sits down on Skype with Chris Zacher to discuss his career in music. They talk about how he came to join The Tombstone Brawlers, how that led to the project Somewhere Between Murder and Suicide, and how an attempt to resurrect Somewhere Between Murder and Suicide years later led to the formation of Zach and the Lo Men. They also touch on Chris's time in the bands Themes for Frances, Bucket of Sunshine, and the Omega Men, as well as how signing with a booking agency led to Zach and the Lo Men becoming Frankie Goes to Dollywood. Chris also discusses how the Sussex County/North Jersey local music scene was more of a thing from the mid 90s to early 00s than it is now, and why that change occurred. J-Bunny also asks Chris what he thinks about the current state of the music industry. Podcast intro "Rock Intro 3" courtesy of audionautix.com. Everyone knows that women prefer Alpha males. The men that are financially successful, good looking, muscular, tall, have a full head of hair and have a charming personality and say the right thing at the right time. An alpha male can be any man that has put effort into improving his outward appearance for the rest of the world and most specifically to women. Women look for strong outside qualities in males because those are the same types of things that most women are taught to value in themselves. A woman is supposed to project success and so should her man. That's how they see things. And being a successful man it seems has very little to do with having a rich and meaningful inner life, finding inner peace and happiness. Being an alpha is about being the opposite of that. It's about conformity and changing yourself to accommodate to what women want. You come second and everything you do is for her first and foremost even though society has convinced you that you're doing it for yourself and to get laid. That's why whenever I see an alpha male with his wife and three or four kids attached to him I feel like it's poetic justice. Men like him were apparently luck to get the hot women in their twenties and marry them. And now they often resemble a shell of an alpha man. While most women are after alpha males, many beta and omega men are also guilty of being attracted to beautiful Alpha females that radiate youth, sexuality, health and fitness. But most beta and omega men have no idea about the dangers inherent in such women. Inside of them they too wish they were alphas. To be a true alpha male it's almost like you've had to be an alpha male from a very young age. If you're a big, dominant kid growing up with lots of confidence and you rule over the other kids you feel confident in your social skills and physical prowess early on because you are using them to put other males down then it's easy for you to move forward in life and have your pick of the women. You essentially have almost everything going for you at a young age. But if you start your young life as an Omega male and your social skills, physical appearance and other outward qualities are poor you are effectively handicapped for the rest of your life and will most likely never become an Alpha male. You will probably never become the quarterback and run off with the home coming queen. Instead most men that are omegas early on will continue to feel down about themselves for the rest of their lives.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/mgtow/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

What can you say about Marv Wolfman? Well, for sure he's not a wolfman. But he is a legendary writer, having worked on many a major storyline and co-creating many a character along the way. On that latter point, here are some of his co-creations: Blade, Cyborg, Raven, Starfire, Deathstroke, Tim Drake, Nova, Black Cat, Bullseye and the Omega Men. And on the former point, he's spun such epics yarns as Crisis on Infinite Earths and the defining run of New Teen Titans (with George Perez and Tom Grummett, among others). Look, if you're still reading this, you shouldn't be. Marv Wolfman is better at telling his stories than we are, so listen up!Note: this interview took place before the news of George Perez's illness was public. ____________________________________You can find a video version of this episode on our YouTube channel: youtube.com/dollarbinbandits.Check out and subscribe to YEET Presents on Patreon: patreon.com/yeetmagazine.Email us at dollarbinbandits@gmail.com. Sigma Male vs Alpha Male vs Omega Male vs Beta Male. What are they and what are the differences? In today's video we're going to be discussing "what is a Sigma male" and how do the sigma personality traits differ from that of an Alpha male, Beta male and Omega male. If you have seen our previous Sigma male videos and you felt a little bit confused if you were a true sigma. Or if you weren't sure if you have beta traits well this is the video for you. Because today we are going to look at what traits a Sigma male has that will tell you apart from a Beta & Omega so you know for sure. Lets look at a brief introduction into all of the types first. Because an Alpha male can be consider the leader of the pack. Dominant personality, very confident, does the hustling and a Beta would be considered a step lower and reserved in his nature. They are considered the Alpha sidekick yet they are sensitive and compassionate. The Omega can be considered somewhat overwhelmed with what they want to do and struggle to find that one type of ambition to achieve what they want and we can say they have a slight laziness to their nature. Then the Sigma comes along and well, as he is all of the types smoshed together. So lets look at the Sigma specific traits. #Joyanima #Sigma #Apha #Beta #Omega 0:00 Intro 1:09 He prefers to be self employed 1:35 He is naturally charismatic 2:11 He wants to do his own thing 2:43 He is a quiet person 3:08 He is self confident 3:24 People are drawn to their mysterious energy 4:04 He is extremely self sufficient 4:45 They rebel without a cause 5:05 Less likely to engage in social media 5:41 Easy to convince others 6:16 They don't see others as a threat 6:45 He has a strong independence 7:18 He is accurate

Wes is joined by award-winning comic book editor Joe Corallo and comic super-fan Eric Breen to discuss one of the greatest team books of all-times, The New Teen Titans. Marv Wolfman and George Perez took the Teen Titans and made it the most popular book at DC Comics, rivaling X-Men for industry supremacy. The Judas Contract featuring Deathstroke is their most well known story. Today we cover The Nww Teen Titans #23-#25 and Annual #1, which sees Blackfire kidnap her sister Starfire. The New Teen Titans are hot on her trail aided by the Omega Men, DC's answer to the X-Men. What readers get is an action packed cosmic adventure with plenty of twists, turns and betrayal. In the end Blackfire and Starfire fight to determine which sister is fit to rule Tamaran in the future. Support Thinking Critical at Ko-fi. Welcome back to our second B-Side, Bat-Fanatics! What is the B-Side? This is the comics opinion show from Wayne Manor Memoirs for topics that: A) we don't really want to cover for the main show, B) come from way outside the Bat-Mythos (like maybe other companies), C) deserve more time than a Bat-Radar can offer, or D) are justified with “because we said so!” This time we cover Brubaker & Phillip's self contained story, PULP! Westerns, Nazis, heists, and (of course) Pulps! We hope you enjoy, Bat-Fanatics! Content - Pulp Mentions - Ruthless, Fatale, Mr. Miracle, Watchmen, Omega Men, Stray Bullets

We're celebrating 1983, which the history books already call "the year of Mr. Roboto, and not much else." But we did notice that a bunch of actors who played comic book characters (Spider-Man, Thor, Superman, Lois, Luthor, Wonder Woman, and more) were born that year. And we run through some our favorite 1983 movies (DC Cab, The Outsiders, Wargames), 1983 comics books (Batman and the Outsiders, Omega Men, Alpha Flight), and 1983 music (new wave, new wave, and new wave). Also: The Kiss guys take the makeup off, the Teen Titans replace Robin with the Protector, Kornflake rides a party bus to Hooters, and we have questions about the anatomy of the Kool-Aid Man. Alternate Current Radio Presents: BOILER ROOM - The significance of the term that BR host, Hesher, coined to describe himself, his colleagues and many listeners, "The Social Rejects Club," has a whole new gravitas these days. With that in mind, know you're not alone if you're feel'n rejected, so hang back, grab a snack, a beverage, kick back and let Hesher, Spore, Infidel Pharaoh, Ruckus and Chopper hash out the insanity that is the everflowing stream of garbage and propaganda that somehow passes as "mainstream"... Everyone wants truth and the news, or truth in the news... That is by and large gone. We can only hope to help people improve at reading between the lies.
Welcome Bat-Fanatics to the second episode of Bat-Radar. Those of you familiar with the show are used to the episodic musings of Joe & Kendall, but here is a full hour dedicated to their most interesting reads from June 2021. If that weren't enough, they also do their best to catalogue and review every Bat-Book currently on the market. Do they get them all? No. Do they try really hard? Maybe. So sit down and listen to more unscripted nonsense from J&K and they talk comics, television, and video games. Content: Boom's Whendon-Verse, God of War, Omega Men, Teen Titan's Rebirth, Invincible, Checkmate, Vagabond Bat-Book Roundup: Batman, Detective Comics, Nightwing, Robin, Batman: Urban Legends, Batman/Catwoman, The Joker, Legends of the Dark Knight, Batman: Reptilian, Future State: Gotham

ré·su·mé [rez-oo-mey, rez-oo-mey] noun 1. a summing up; summary. 2. a brief written account of personal, educational, and professional qualifications and experience, as that prepared by an applicant for a job. In Comic Reader Résumé, I use Mike's Amazing World of Comics to travel back through time via his virtual newsstand to the genesis point of my lifelong collecting of comics. From there, I can offer a “work history” of my fandom through my active purchasing of (relatively) new comic books beginning in January of 1982, when my interest in the medium went from sporadic and unformed to routine on through compulsive accumulation. To streamline the narrative and keep the subjects at least remotely contemporaneous, I will not generally be discussing what we call back issues: books bought long after their publication date. Sometimes, I will cover a book published on a given month that I picked up within a year or so that date, and I give myself an especially wide berth on this aspect in the first couple of “origins” episodes. We'll get more rigidly on point as my memories crystallize and my “hobby” spirals out of control into the defining characteristic of my life (eventually outpacing squalor and competing neuroses.) It's part personal biography, part industry history, and admittedly totally self-indulgent on my part. This episode includes World's Finest Comics #289-290, Captain America #280, Captain Carrot and His Amazing Zoo Crew #14, Dazzler #26, Doctor Strange #58, Omega Men #1, DC Comics' The New Teen Titans in cooperation with The President's Drug Awareness Campaign #1, Obnoxio the Clown #1, Starslayer #6, Uncanny X-Men #168, and Marvel Team-Up #128. “Transcripts” January, 1983 Twitter #CRRésumé?
