Educational Duct Tape Question: What are some specific tech tools that educators can use to make their classroom interactive? “Interactive Learning is learning that is responsive and relevant, that engages students.” Responsive, not Reactive Here’s a summary from this article: “Responsiveness implies thoughtful action that considers long and short term outcome in the context of the situation at hand. Reactive behavior is immediate and without conscious thought, like a knee jerk response. Reactive behavior is often driven by the emotions.” Flipgrid - flipgrid.com Breakouts with grid passcodes Podcasting with stickers Appsmashing Joe’s tweet with the President Lincoln beard & hat Seesaw - web.seesaw.me Making sure parents are connected Analog activities can easily be shared via Seesaw Changes the question of “what did you do today?” to “how did you do it?” Buncee - edu.buncee.com/about Can share out directly from Buncee or through something like Seesaw Can add a range of content (GIFs, maps, 360 images, drawing tools, record video within, assessment questions, etc.) Share out as pdf or link Microsoft Immersive Reader built-in Can assign Buncees and have kids submit Can ask questions or build assessments within slides, kind of like Nearpod or Pear Deck Combines Google Slides-like creation features along with NearPod/Pear Deck like assessment features Ideas Lab OneNote integration allows teacher to keep all Buncees in one location BookCreator - BookCreator.com The ability to share out (to parents, etc.) from the tool is important Content from the Duct Taper Community Apple Podcasts Review - Moomooforyoubabydoll3333 Favorite #EduDuctTape Tweets: (each handle is linked to the mentioned tweet) @KristaHach @AbramsTank95 @ehlmstech New #EduDuctTape Tweeps: @alextvalencic, @chelsea_hurst1, @Joshua__Stamper, @Mrs_EDarnell, @mrs_schlecht, @RLEdsall, @SangareeSchool, @TheiTeamHawk #EduDuctTape FlipGrid Response: Krista Hachadoorian

This is a bit of a noisy podcast on the fly ---but a real life networking story! I met Kathi Kersznowski at my first NJ Teach Meet a few weeks ago. She gave an engaging 20 min. #Wakelet power session and I wanted to share her with my network so we grabbed a few minutes in a noisy school cafeteria to talk about her brand building journey--talk about real! She is a superstar of tech and teaching, and I loved the noisy buzz for this blur and bland on the fly in South Jersey... Just two Jersey girls talkin' tech, schools, and edu-brand! Kathi is Technology Integration Specialist at Washington Township Schools in New Jersey, USA. where she directly serves four elementary schools, but also enjoys greater responsibilities as an educational technology leader for her entire district and beyond. She has worked as an elementary teacher, a special education teacher, a computer teacher, and has a Master’s Degree in School Administration. She is a blogger, keynote speaker, and presenter on various educational technology, STEM/STEAM, and leadership topics. She is proud to be an ambassador for several edtech companies including Buncee, Merge, and Wakelet. She is also a #TeachSDGs Global Ambassador, an MIEExpert and Master Trainer, and a Flipgrid Student Voice Ambassador! Find Kathi and learn from her on twitter @kerszi. She is authentically showing her educator brand !

On this quest, Michael Drezek meets with Bryan Gorman and Arvind Agarwal of Buncee to discuss creativity in the classroom and how educational technology companies are working with students and educators to help create learning experiences that keep them asking for more! After a day touring Lake Shore CSD classrooms, Bryan and Arvind had a chance to see their product in action. It was a great experience for all involved and this conversation is just one example of why Buncee is winning over classrooms around the world. Check out https://app.edu.buncee.com/ to learn more.
In this episode, Mike, Eric and Marie talk Buncee. Buncee is a free app and site which allows students and teachers a blank slate with almost endless creative options. Eric interviews 2nd grade teacher and Buncee user Sara Frater. Enjoy
