After five books the week prior, we're down to just one new Star Wars comic this week -- Star Wars (Vol. 3) #30 -- but the lone title has much to offer in terms of advancing the story arc as well as linking to Lucasfilm's ambitious new era, The High Republic.Featuring classic Original Trilogy stalwarts, Lando, Leia, Luke and Chewbacca, along with the Sequel Trilogy's Amilyn Holdo, the Rebels are adrift in No-Space in a bid to find fuel for the Rebellion. What transpires is a confrontation with Nihil droids and a surprising final page that leads into the next issue.Comics out today and broken down on this week's episode:_ Star Wars #30 (6:01)_ The High Republic #2 (2nd Printing)_ The Mandalorian #5 (2nd Printing)Star Wars Comics on Marvel Unlimited This Week:_ Doctor Aphra (Vol. 2) #24_ Han Solo & Chewbaca #6 (of 10)News_ It's a new year!Upcoming Star Wars comics, TPBs and omnibus editions:Jan. 10 _ Darth Vader (Vol. 3), Vol. 5: The Shadow's Shadow TPB (Collects #23-27Jan. 11 _ Darth Vader #30, The Mandalorian #7 (of 8), The High Republic #4 (of 10), The High Republic Adventures #2 (of 8), Hidden Empire #1 (2nd Printing)Jan. 18 _ Bounty Hunters #30, Han Solo & Chewbacca #9 (of 10), Revelations #1 (2nd Printing), Yoda #1 (2nd Printing)Jan. 24 _ Star Wars Legends: The New Republic Vol. 1 Omnibus (Collects Star Wars: Mara Jade - By the Emperor's Hand #0-6, Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire - Evolution #1-5, Star Wars: X-Wing Rogue Leader #1-3, Star Wars: X-Wing Rogue Squadron #1-35, Star Wars: X-Wing Rogue Squadron Special #1, Star Wars Handbook #1 and material from Star Wars Tales #10, 12, 15, 23)Jan. 25 _ The Blade #2 (of 4), Doctor Aphra #28, Yoda #3 (of 10), The High Republic Adventures #3 (of 8)Jan. 31 _ Doctor Aphra Omnibus, Vol. 1 (2nd Printing) (Collects Doctor Aphra (Vol. 1), #1-40; Annuals #1-3; Darth Vader (2015) #3-4, 8, 21, 25; Star Wars (2015) #13, 19, #31-32; The Screaming Citadel #1; and material from Empire Ascendant #1); Bounty Hunters, Vol. 5 "The Raid on the Vermillion" TPB (Collects #23-28)Feb. 1 _ Sana Starros #1 (of 5), Hyperspace Stories #4 (of 12)Feb. 7 _ Star Wars Legends Epic Collection: The Menace Revealed, Vol. 3 (Collects Star Wars #36-45, Star Wars: Jedi Quest #1-4, Star Wars: Jango Fett #1, Star Wars: Zam Wesell #1)Feb. 8 _ The High Republic #5, Hidden Empire #3, Darth Vader #31Feb. 15 _ Star Wars #31, Bounty Hunters #31, The Mandalorian #8 (of 8), Hyperspace Stories #5 (of 12)Feb. 22 _ The Blade #3 (of 4), Doctor Aphra #29, Yoda #4 (of 10), The High Republic Adventures #4 (of 8), The Nameless Terror #1 (of 4)March 1 _ The High Republic Adventures -- Quest of the Jedi #1 One-Shot, Star Wars #32, Hidden Empire #4 (of 5), Han Solo & Chewbacca #10 (of 10)March 7 _ Star Wars Legends Epic Collection: The Old Republic, Vol. 5, TPB (Collects Star Wars: Knight Errant 1-5, Knight Errant -- Deluge 1-5, Knight Errant -- Escape 1-5, Star Wars: Jedi vs. Sith 1-6 and material from Star Wars Tales #16)March 8 _ Bounty Hunters #32, Sana Starros #2 (of 5), The High Republic #6 (of 10)March 14 _ Star Wars Legends: The Rebellion Omnibus Vol. 1. First official guest on the Just F'n Send It Podcast is my main man, Mike "Chewbaca" Menchaca from Mile High Shooting and The Everyday Sniper Podcast. (I dont know if anyone else calls him this but ive been calling him Chewbaca for quite a while now, as this is his name in my phone contacts). We talk a whole host of shit. I honestly owe my podcast to Mike and Frank for giving me the idea of doing one myself, as their podcast has been so awesome from day 1. I was the probably one of the very first subscribers to the Everyday Sniper Podcast and have enjoyed every minute of it. BIG SHOUT OUT TO MY MAN, RICHARD TAGUE from Ace's and Eight's Gunsmith and Holsters for converting the skype audio to MP3 to make this podcast possible. From here on out, im going to nail down a better way of recording guests, as there will be more guests to come! PS. I haven't listened to this podcast at all and definitely haven't even checked to make sure this file will work before submitting it to the podbean app so, here goes nothing!

The Harold & Maudecast Movie Reviews - Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Hosted by Sarah Mason & Jake Essoe The Harold & Maudecast review the film, ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY, Directed by Gareth Edwards, Written by Chris Weitz (screenplay), Tony Gilroy (screenplay), starring Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, Donnie Yen, Ben Mendelsohn, Forest Whitaker and Mads Mikkelsen. A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away a group of rebels stole the plans to the Death Star. Memba the Death Star? Memba Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker, and Obi Wan Kenobi and Hans Solo and Chewbaca and R2D2 and C3PO? Yeah well, before Princess Leia said "Help me Obi Wan, you're my only hope", those plans had to be retrieved. Not only that, the Death Star had to be designed, right? Did you ever wonder who stole those plans or who the scientist was behind that marvel of human engineering? Well, you're questions are answered in this prequel to Episode 4, A NEW HOPE. Galen Erso (Mikkelsen) is said scientist. He is so crucial to the success of the Death Star that Imperial bad guy Orson Krennic (Mendelsohn) chases him across the galaxy until he finds him on a farming planet where Galen his wife and daughter, Jyn, have been hiding. Unable to escape the Empire, Galen is forced to return but not before securing his daughters escape. Years later, now a young woman, having been raised by Galen's buddy in arms, Saw Gerrera (Whitaker), Jyn must choose to follow her destiny or stay on her destructive path of mild juvenile delinquency. Aided by a mish mosh crew made up of rebel assassin Cassian Andor (Luna), a Jedi wannabe/neverwas, Chirrut Îmwe, (Yen) and his cohort, and a new British accent toting cyber being, K-2SO, Jyn takes up her father's crusade to fight the empire -- Plan A: Steal them Death Star plans! We wish we could say we loved this film, sadly, nope. ROGUE ONE manages to suck all the magic out of the STAR WARS franchise with a dreary, lackluster story driven solely by Disney's exploitation of nostalgia. Even the original score, which had possibly the single greatest source material to draw from, was unremarkable and did nothing to raise the spirit of this pointless and boring film. Sorry STAR WARS fans. 5.5/10 Visit www.thehmcnetwork.com for more movie, tv and game reviews.
Mike Black and Steve Simeone met me at the Comedy Store and we talked about the new Star Wars. There's tons of spoilers in here so stay away if you want everything to be fresh. But it's really not that important. The movie was just fun anyway. It ain't like getting a spoiler for 6th Sense or the movie where the guy was a girl. This is the 4th in my series of spoiler alert podcasts. Check out the others if you can find them.
In 1978, CBS aired a two-hour Star Wars holiday special. Only a year prior, A New Hope had been released to critical success and with the Empire Strikes Back in production and to be released in a year and half, this was Lucasfilm’s opportunity to keep fans engaged with the franchise (and sell some merchandise of course) by developing a science fiction variety special using everyones favorite characters. But it was terrible! So much so, that it has never been re-aired or made available for purchase ever. Nor should it be. Even George hates it, famously saying “If I had the time and a sledgehammer, I would track down every copy of the show and smash it.” Griffin and David, joined by Pilot Viruet (Flavorwire) discuss this truly insane piece of television history. Together, they examine a storyline involving Chewbacca and Han Solo trying to return to Kasyyyk to celebrate Life Day, a Wookie holiday, Chewbaca’s weird family and extended grunting, the first introduction to Boba Fett, bad french circus dancing, 1970’s cocaine use and so much more!
