According to his Amazon profile, Chris Aubeck was born in London. His interest in the historical and sociological aspects of unexplained aerial phenomena began at an early age. He moved to Spain aged 19 and after teaching in Cáceres and Madrid for 24 years now lives in Granada. A student of language and folklore, he has helped compile the largest collection of pre-1947 UFO cases in the world. He has spoken on his research in many articles and on public radio. In 2008 he was awarded a prize for his contributions to the field by the Spanish organization Fundación Anomalía.In 2003 Chris Aubeck co-founded a remarkable collaborative network of librarians, students and scholars of paranormal history on the Internet. This group, known as the Magoniax Project, extends from North and Central America to Russia and Germany. For centuries, folk tales from various parts of the world have told tales of "visitors" that hailed from distant regions of the sky. Believed by some ancient scholars to represent elementals, these beings were often said to be composed of air, and traveled in ships that sailed through the skies whose home ports existed in a far off place called "Magonia."  Although most accounts of these sort fall squarely into the category of myth and legend, is it possible that some describe aerial phenomena similar to modern UFOs? This had been the contention of computer scientist Jacques Vallee in his landmark study Passport to Magonia, a work that both broadened the scope of UAP studies, and equally cast Vallee as a heretic in an already heretical field of research. Tendemos a pensar que la visita de seres de otros planetas a la Tierra es algo contemporáneo, de hace apenas unas décadas. Germán Santana, Profesor de la Universidad de las Palmas, se encontraba investigando las relaciones comerciales entre Las Islas Canarias e Inglaterra a finales del siglo XVIII. Durante una de sus estancias en el Archivo General de Simancas halló un documento no catalogado que hablaba de un extraño avistamiento de un globo de fuego del que bajaron dos seres extrañamente altos y vestidos de sugerentes formas. Decían venir de la Luna y su historia os sorprenderá. El equipo de El Dragón Invisible ha investigado el asunto y hemos llegado a datos y revelaciones que os sorprenderán. Dr. Vallee does not come to conclusions about UFOs or what they may be. However, what his research shows is that reports of such phenomena have been occurring since antiquity. Jacques Vallee, Ph.D. is one of today's most widely respected researchers of unexplained aerial phenomena. He earned a Masters Degree in Astrophysics while living in France and holds a Ph.D. in computer science from Northwestern University. His life experience was the model portrayed by François Truffaut in the Steven Spielberg award winning film, Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Chris Aubeck como nunca le habías escuchado. Os recordamos que esto de "La Ballena Alegre" es una nueva iniciativa de "Dimensión Límite" que, cada mes, organiza una ponencia más una tertulia posterior en el lugar ya señalado, como homenaje al sótano del que, antaño, fue el famoso Café Lyon de Madrid, situado en la calle Alcalá, al lado del antiguo palacio de Linares.
