This week I'm talking to Allan Lavigne about his UFO experiences. Bio Allan Lavigne is a former investigator for the Aerial Phenomenon Research Organization from 1974-1980. He went on to a two-pronged career path spanning more than 45 years, as both a Physical Security Specialist and Intelligence Analyst in the private sector, working closely with the Joint Terrorist Task Force, FBI and Homeland Security. He is also an entertainment artist. His early work can be seen in the 1979 documentary UFOs are Real for which A.P.R.O. was the sole technical advisor. Allan went on to create Make-up Special Effects appliances, masks, and props for NBC's Jack Web's TV series Project UFO for two seasons. He won the DC Comics Industry Award for his Arkham Asylum Batman costume. In more recent years, Allan has done work for Sony Pictures on Iron Man 1 and 2, Marvel Entertainment, Disney, Lucas Films and others. The archive originated in 2006 under then-MUFON International Director James Carrion and incorporates early MUFON and Center for UFO Studies (CUFOS) records, along with private collections donated by Walt Andrus and John Schuessler. Between 2014 and 2015, Clifford Clift and Debbie Ziegelmeyer organized and categorized the archive, and in 2016, Ken St. John developed the MARRS redaction system to support ethical access. In 2017, Paige was appointed MARRS Administrator and Team Lead. MARRS now operates as one of six active Project Aquarius research rooms under the direction of Robert Spearing and his team.Paige is the director of Rocky Mountain Ranch Research, which she founded to investigate the Colorado property historically known as Clearview Ranch in the APRO case files, a site recognized for long-term anomalous activity that predates the Skinwalker Ranch case by more than a decade. by UFO History Buff & Author, Charles Lear ~ In the course of researching UFO cases in Spanish speaking countries, one is bound to run into Scott Corrales and Inexplicata: The Journal of Hispanic UFOlogy. It exists today as a website, but in the fall of 1998, Corrales put out the first print version. In issue number 3, put out in the spring of 1999, Corrales celebrates the public reception of the first two issues and notes that there were 1800 visitors to the inexplicata.com website. In that issue is an article by Javier Garcia Blanco headlined “Roadside Encounters: UFOs, Aliens and Missing Time,” that Corrales promises, “does for driving what Spielberg's Jaws did for swimming: you won't want to get behind the wheel!” Blanco is credited with being the editor (along with Angel Briongos Martinez) of the Spain-based magazine Declasificado and the director of LACIP.The first case Blanco goes into is that of “veteran radio personality” Pedro Mateo and his wife, Gloria Jiménez. According to him, Mateo described what he said happened to him and his wife on June 26, 1977, after explaining, “I have it etched upon my mind because we were flying to Dusseldorf that day, and most of what happens to me I write in a notebook.” He said that after leaving Zaragoza at around 5:00 a.m., they were just past the town of Los Garrigues after sunrise when they saw a disk-shaped object off in the distance. Sheryl developed a deep interest in the UFO phenomenon, catalysed by her father-in-law who attended a UFO meeting in Brisbane in the 1960s, where the famous alien contactee, George Adamski, was guest speaker.  In 1988 she joined UFO Research Queensland, and three years later was asked to take on the role of President. In 1992 Sheryl and her late husband, Dr Martin Gottschall, established the first close encounter support group in Brisbane, facilitating 3 support group in total during the 1990s.On a parallel path Sheryl also has a life-long interest in the paranormal which began in her teenage years, but in 1980 she began seriously studying the phenomenon of Near Death Experiences (NDEs). Soon after she joined the International Association for Near Death Studies (IANDs) and in 1995 hosted Dr Ken Ring for the Brisbane leg of his Australian tour where he presented research for his future book Mindsight: Near Death and Out Of Body Experiences In The Blind.Dr Rings book “The Omega Project: Near Death Experiences, UFO Encounters, and the Mind At Large” (1992) ignited Sheryl's interest in the connections between UFOs and NDEs which was also being reported in the lives of UFO witnesses she was interviewing. Some years later in 2012, she established the monthly Afterlife Discussions group, an associated IANDS chapter now known as Strange Encounters, where she continued to find links between UFOs and the afterlife in the stories experiencers shared.In 2021, Sheryl was invited to become the Australian representative for the International Coalition for Extraterrestrial Research (ICER), the first truly global international UFO organisation which aims to prepare the public for alien contact.She speaks about the UFO phenomenon, the Afterlife and Strange Encounters at public meetings, podcasts, conferences, community groups, schools, libraries and has given hundreds of media interviews.
