As promised, Double Doinks and Sackles is back with a full review of Week 11 and a preview of the remaining games of Week 12. . We got a little trivia and some hot takes on Week 12.... mostly they involve the Panthers because Chris Walters is not here this week for the recording. Enjoy!
#957 - Chris Walters The original Chris Walters Interview is featured on The Paul Leslie Hour. Are you here? Look. Let's not get too exact on the details. You are here. You know it. We know it. You're listening to The Paul Leslie Hour. On the episode, we are proud to present Paul's interview with the very accomplished pianist Chris Walters. This originally went out on the radio in January 2008. A lot has happened since then, but Chris Walters has been going at it.People ask Paul, quite a lot actually, what have you been listening to…? Someone he's never stopped listening to, is Chris Walters. Why? Walters is a wonderful songwriter and performer with just the right whimsy and personality. He's worked with artists like Alabama, Barbara Mandrell, J. D. Souther, and also our friends Roger Guth and Peter Mayer. Many of you may have witnessed Chris Walters' piano mastery on Peter Mayer's Stars and Promises Christmas tour. Well, guess what, Chris will be on this year's, that's 2023, Stars and Promises Christmas shows. Paulie can't wait to see this year's show. He may make it to the Raleigh North Carolina one. But Peter Mayer and friends will be performing everywhere from Stone Mountain, Georgia to St. Louis, Missouri to Cambridge, Massachusetts. Try to go and say hello to Chris Walters for us. Tell him The Paul Leslie Hour sent you. Real quick, wherever you are tuning in, you can easily subscribe to Paul Leslie's YouTube channel. It's free and it connects you to content just like this. Please ring that bell. We thank you. And with that, I see no reason that we shouldn't hear from Chris Walters now. And don't forget: Stars and Promises. Yay! Enjoy the interview. The Paul Leslie Hour is a talk show dedicated to “Helping People Tell Their Stories.” Some of the most iconic people of all time drop in to chat. Frequent topics include Arts, Entertainment and Culture.
Double Doinks and Week 9. Teaching you what the hell happened with Dobby Dimes. But before we get to that, let's go over some of those big games of Week 9. . We obviously have Fernando in studio this week, so we ask him how he thought of that epic Dobby Dimes game involving the Vikings and Falcons in Hotlanta. . We have a special commercial from Chris Walters about Gilly's bar in North Park, in it's final stretch run until November 13, 2023. Go there and celebrate and support the staff. . And finally we discuss the Thursday night game that has already happened (dammit Panthers), and get some thoughts from Chris Walters about that Niners/Jaguars game in Jacksonville. And because you've been good, all 3 of our listeners, you get a little hot takes action from Travis, Chris, and Jimmy G... Duval Boy. . A destination Jacksonville episode previewing the Niners/Jaguars and maybe some other topics with other celebrities to follow later this week. Thanks for listening. We love you.
This week's episode of Double Doinks and Sackles will release sometime Saturday 11/11/23 ... but we thought we'd break into your podcast feed with an important word from our "sponsor". . If you could please... Chris Walters for Gilly's Bar. . Artwork courtesy of the talented Kasandra Flores
BioMed Realty's Colleen O'Connor, Babraham Research Campus' Derek Jones, and JLL's Chris Walters join Montfort's Andrew Teacher to discuss the outlook for life sciences, the challenges of creating high-spec lab space, and why the success of the industry should be cause for optimism in the UK.
It's a less crowded house for this week's episode of Double Doinks and Sackles, teaching you how to football. . For one, we have less people in the house, where it's just Travis and Jimmy G the SKOL boy. Fernando is out at a concert listening to the least likely artist you can think he would want to listen to. Chris Walters is on daddy duty, so you get what's left. And what it is, is something... amazing. . But Fernando did record some commentary from the Gilly's recording studio on the games of week 6 and some predictions for week 7. And then he and Jimmy G the statboy discuss that big NIners/Vikings game. And we also have our standard commentary and banter between Travis and the statboy. The episode goes everywhere, it's a fun ride. You'll like it. No fewer than 10 SKOLs in this episode. . And then we have a special commercial for Fernando as it's his birthday on the date of this recording. If you wanted to hear someone relearn the violin and play a little song, you'll have to listen to the episode to find it. Thanks to both of our listeners for listening and please tell a friend. . Look for us on the Social Dragonfly podcast network on Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts. Check the links in our social media profiles.
Week 3 was a little strange and we have to move with the punches. This week Fernando is away, so we had to go to our backup into the co-host seat, and that backup is Chris Walters. . So when you're on the phone with your girlfriend and she's upset. She's going off about something that you said 'cause she doesn't get your humor like I do. I'm in the room, it's a typical Tuesday night. I'm listening to the kind of music she doesn't like and she'll never know your story like I do. But she wears short skirts. I wear T-shirts. She's Cheer Captain, and I'm on the bleachers. Dreaming about the day when you wake up and find that what you're looking for has been here the whole time.... Such wise words from Travis Kelce's new special friend. We're so lucky to have Chris Walters. He belongs to us. . Besides stuff that TMZ would be interested to talk about, we review Week 3 and talk about that 70 burger from the Dolphins, the Chargers improbable win, and all of the crazy upsets involving the Colts, Cardinals, and Texans. And we praise the legend of Doubby Dimes. . We have a commercial for La Mesa Oktoberfest. . And then we make our picks for week 4 and make more literal hot takes, courtesy of MIkey V's hot sauce. . Look for us on the Social Dragonfly podcast network on Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts. Check the links in our social media profiles.
Well well well... look who's back. Back again. Chris is back. Look who's back. . Chris Walters is back to help give some insight and hot opinions about Week 2, along with the usual cast of characters of Fernando, Travis, and Jimmy G the ______ boy. . Also on today's show, we also make a prayer for Nick Chubb and for the other injuries out there. We are really into the new season now. . We also have a commericial for a place to get pizza in Minneapolis. . And then we finally give our predictions for Week 3 and also a new segment, called Hot Takes. . What's are Hot Takes? Well it involves giving some unique and less than popular opinions on the world of the NFL for this week and maybe we ingest some hot sauce while making them. This is probably what we're going to be known for, isn't it? . Look for us on the Social Dragonfly podcast network on Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts. Some have lost their homes and instruments and are having a challenging time making financial ends meet. Musicians need these jobs to feed their families and pay their bills, but most are unable to work. We believe that doing something is better than doing nothing, so we have decided to start a live online, streaming, 50-minute concert series called iTA Studio Streams to help some of these incredible musicians. iTA Studio Streams will feature some of Nashville's local musical heroes playing live and taking a few questions for an online-only audience. Donations are encouraged and can be made via PayPal and Venmo during, as well as after, the performance. No amount is too large to donate and 100% of your generosity goes DIRECTLY to the artists. We thank you!!!
