Up on the podcast this week, we have Gemma Brady. Gemma is the founder of Sister Stories, which is on a mission to make going to women's circles as common as yoga class. She's dedicated her life to creating spaces for people to tell important stories, be it on film, in writing, or in their community. She believes in the healing power of storytelling and the power of the generous acts of both speaking and offering deep listening. Her 15 year career as a filmmaker has seen her creating BAFTA award winning content across a variety of media from senior roles on some of the UK's most popular and sensitive documentary series to award winning charity campaigns. In 2017, Gemma created Sister Stories as a means of offering women an opportunity to come together and experience the transformative power of being seen and heard. Grounded in the primal and magical tradition of storytelling, Sister Stories events invite women to deepen their sense of connection to the self and one another, experiencing the simple joy of knowing we are all in it together. Circlework is a nurturing and spacious practice that honors the feminine spirit. Developed by Jalaja Bonheim, PhD, it addresses women’s hunger for authenticity and intimacy while also connecting them with their feminine essence. Through a wide range of tools that include not only talking but also movement, touch, and immersion in nature, a space is created that feels equally safe and sacred. Here, women have space to listen deeply, both to their own hearts and souls and to one another. Circlework has also proven its value as an effective peace practice that is being used in the Middle East to unite Jewish and Palestinian women. Though Jalaja is an award-winning author, none of her previous books reveal the concepts and tools that make Circlework such a magical experience. Until now, the only way to access the secrets of Circlework was to attend her retreats or trainings. Now, for the first time, she explains how ordinary circle gatherings are transformed into true mandalas—fields of sacred presence imbued with love, peace and joy. The Magic of Circlework includes the stories and voices of many women who are using Circlework to heal their lives and relationships. Inspiring embodiments of feminine power, they have bonded to form a global sisterhood that transcends all national and religious boundaries. Anyone interested in the process of healing and evolution will love their stories of life-altering encounters and awakenings. Link to the book on Amazon: https://amzn.to/2C2W1vA

Dr. Jeanette welcomes Jalaja Bonheim, author of The Magic of Circlework; The Practice Women Around the World Are Using to Heal and Empower Themselves, to explore the circle work concept. Why are women coming together all around the world for empowerment? Why do we need this step up in connectedness at this time in the stage of our evolution? Women have been coming together for eons to talk and make changes in the world around them. As we have become slightly disconnected with electronics and distance, some of our coming together has gone by the wayside. Can we connect with our heart and soul to create the change we wish to see in this world? Can we take the steps to create a ripple effect which is really the name of the game, yes? She discovered that she was a natural channel, and in 1990 began channeling a 16th-century England Wiccan, Obehon for Spirit Speaks magazine. With Obehon, she created the newsletter, “Familiar Spirits,” and has channeled personalities from Laurel and Hardy, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and George Washington, to ETs and angels. When she was asked to do a piece with Nikola Tesla, Francesca was so enthralled by the depth, integrity, and complexity of the material, she asked Tesla for more. His responses to questions posed by her and others presented a new approach to physics, which she has compiled into a book calle
