You probably remember how it went when you were a kid: If your family was typical, your mother said, “Don't fight,” but your father said, “Don't lose.” And that was the end of it. With all due respect to Mom and Dad, this advice is little help in a hypercomplex world that's teetering on the edge of social and ecological collapse. Conflict is now inevitable, but rarely do we teach it in any intentional way.  A sense of martial artistry is essential to our survival. Gripped by confusion, fear, and outrage, we feel the need to act, but we don't even know the fundamentals: what to fight, who to fight, when to fight, how to fight, or why to fight. Awkward and impulsive, we're ineffective and a threat to ourselves and others. This is a book about radical realism and adaptability. It's about understanding the world, thinking clearly, navigating complexity, and exercising skill in the face of escalating stress and ambiguity. Encounters with Living Language (Winds of Change Books, March 2023) chronicles these events she calls illuminations, which reveal pathways to experiencing our world guided by deep insight. By sharing these illuminations, Donnell awakens readers to the intrinsic energy of language, where we can experience its multi-dimensional transmissions connecting us to the oneness that underlies all of life. Encounters with Living Language provides an entrancing account of Donnell's discoveries and an invitation for readers to explore living language and the dormant places within them ready to awaken. It is a hymn of love during these dark times, promising that through the metamorphosis ignited by words, a new world is quietly emerging, reconnecting human consciousness to the whole of life.

We are all curious about the mystery of death. Whether facing our own, assisting a loved one in their last days, or grieving the loss of someone dear to us, we all have questions about dying and what happens to our soul after we depart physical form. In this compassionate and straightforward guide to the spiritual process of dying and what happens after death, psychic medium Salicrow answers the most common questions asked by her clients over her decades of work as a spirit speaker. Seeking to normalize the spiritual aspects of end-of-life care, she explains how active dying exists outside of normal reality, in a state in which the dying person and their caregivers often experience a heightened state of consciousness. Describing how the spirit is separate from the body and continues to exist after death, she shares thought-provoking stories of spirit contact and synchronicities that occurred for those actively involved in the dying process. She reveals how these encounters are common and act as guideposts along the journey into death, helping to ease the transition. She offers simple techniques for helping loved ones who are stuck or struggling to cross over and shares practices designed to help honor our beloved dead and develop living relationships with our ancestral spirits. Presenting an outline of what may be experienced during the dying process and beyond, Salicrow explores the time when a soul is actively dying or recently departed. She explains the multiple ways spirits reach out to communicate with us and provides a deep understanding of the signs, symbols, and sensations that spirits use to contact us as well as ways to strengthen that connection. She also explores challenging situations such as suicide, murder, and healing unresolved issues with the dead. Crafted through years of spirit communication sessions, this guide details how the spirit world works while revealing the beauty, healing, and love that exist in death.

Love in the Time of Impermanence

We live in a world where nothing lasts. Everything we love—the relationships, places, and things we most count on, even our own bodies—will change or be lost. But, as psychologist Matthew McKay shows, the certainty of change and loss can actually support rather than diminish love. For at the heart of pain and loss is love. Collaborating with his late son, Jordan, McKay offers five ways to keep love alive in a world of impermanence. He explores how to see and know what we love, how to actively care for what we love, how to have compassion for the suffering of others, how to set the daily intention to act with love, and how to turn toward rather than away from the pain of impermanence. McKay shares practices and meditations to help love endure in the face of loss, disappointment, change, or any of the ways relationships and circumstances are altered by time. He examines what love is and is not, including how not to mistake yearning and neediness for love, sex for love, and attraction to beauty for love. He shows how to cultivate gratitude for every expression of love we encounter, learn to care for things we don't like, and recognize the power of love after life—a love that reaches beyond death. He also provides concrete exercises for communicating with and channeling messages from loved ones who have crossed over. Ultimately, McKay shows that, by running from pain, we run from love. By avoiding pain, we lose the pathway to connection. Yet, by recognizing love in the heart of pain and loss, by knowing that change and impermanence are inevitable, we can navigate life with a compass pointing to love as true north, learning to love more deeply and making what we love more cherished.

How do we approach a "deeply forgetful" loved one so as to notice and affirm their continuing self-identity? For three decades, Stephen G. Post has worked around the world encouraging caregivers to become more aware of—and find renewed hope in—surprising expressions of selfhood despite the challenges of cognitive decline. In Dignity for Deeply Forgetful People Post offers new perspectives on the worth and dignity of people with Alzheimer's and related disorders despite the negative influence of "hypercognitive" values that place an ethically unacceptable emphasis on human dignity as based on linear rationality and strength of memory. He reveals who they still are underneath the losses and explores the many ways to stimulate and connect with that continuing self. At a time when recent drugs to cure or slow Alzheimer's are showing little effectiveness, Post argues that focusing discussion and resources on the relational dignity of these individuals and the respite needs of their caregivers is vital. Grounding an ethics of care on the equal worth of all conscious human beings, he provides a cautionary perspective on preemptive assisted suicide based on cases that he has witnessed. He covers 16 practical issues from diagnosis to hospice care based on 30 years of interacting with caregivers in the US and Canada and advocates social and economic justice in an American system where caregivers and their loved ones receive only leftover scraps. Racially inclusive and grounded in diversity, Dignity for Deeply Forgetful People includes a workshop appendix focused on communication and connection, "A Caregiver Resilience Program," designed by Rev. Dr. Jade C. Angelica to enhance the quality of life for deeply forgetful people, reduce stress and increase confidence for caregivers, and inspire a hopeful attitude for all.

Our culture is so steeped in bullying and abuse — from children's playgrounds to the upper echelons of leadership — that we've come to normalize the behavior and overlook the wreckage. This bullying paradigm has parents, teachers and coaches believing they must be tough to the point of emotional abuse in order for children to acquire the grit and resilience needed to attain excellence in a competitive world.  Setting high expectations in an atmosphere of safety, trust and empathy is light years away from using threats, humiliation, and cruelty if the goal is high achievement. Neuroscientists have found visual evidence in brain scans of the damage that occurs when subjected to bullying and abuse. The bullied brain correlates with failure to perform, substance abuse, aggressive behavior, chronic disease, and mental illness. Dr. Fraser shares not only how to survive bullying, but how to push back against the entrenched role it plays in society.

Can everything be forgiven? Forgiving the small and average sufferings experienced throughout life is one thing. But what about bigger transgressions, like infidelity, abuse, or even large-scale offenses such as genocide? Showing that forgiveness is the healing of the heart's wounds as well as the revival of love, Olivier Clerc looks at what prerequisites might be needed to enter into a process of forgiving and what the effects of doing so might be, for oneself as much as, if not more than for the perpetrator. He identifies 15 obstacles to forgiveness—prejudices, confusions, false ideas, misunderstandings—and discusses where these perceptions and obstacles originate from, which keep many of us from taking the path to healing. Exploring how to overcome the obstacles to forgiveness and how to let go and change our thinking, the author details four practical methods for forgiveness, each with a unique approach: the Hawaiian practice of Ho'oponopono, Colin Tipping's Radical Forgiveness, Fred Luskin's Nine Steps to Forgiveness, and the author's own Gift of Forgiveness, inspired by his work with don Miguel Ruiz. Drawing from his years of forgiveness work as well as from the Forgiveness Project, he shares inspiring testimonies and examples from both victims and perpetrators who have rebuilt their lives after trauma by walking the path of conscious forgiveness. Clerc reveals how choosing to engage in a conscious process of forgiving our perpetrators—while not without struggle—helps stop a spiral of destruction, cleanses the heart, and leads to relief, freedom, and inner peace. Even when faced with the unspeakable, forgiveness is a path we can all take and in doing so we recover our full capacity to love and find happiness.

    The Seven Deadly Sins

What is "sin" in the morally ambiguous twenty-first century, and how did Western culture arrive at the present-day concept of it? In The Seven Deadly Sins: How Sin Influenced the West from the Middle Ages to the Modern Era written by David A. Salomon, PhD, he looks at the history of the idea of sin as it has influenced and shaped Western culture with an emphasis placed on an inter and cross-disciplinary approach. The word "sin" has come to transcend the theological and enter the common parlance in both media and society. This book is an examination of that idea. It discusses how the concept of sin evolved through the Middle Ages and into the modern era. From religion to politics and from the bedroom to the boardroom, a more complete understanding of the history of sin will assist the modern reader in a wide variety of fields. This book builds on the work of Gregory the Great to explain each of the so-called seven deadly sins: pride, lust, anger, gluttony, avarice, envy, and sloth. Each chapter provides a close look at the origins and history of that individual sin, concluding with a section on contemporary applications of the idea and a case study. The central argument is that the concept of sin has been integral to the development of Western society, including not only political and religious history but also in extensive aspects of popular culture in the twenty-first century. The broader but significant issue of intention versus action permeates the study.

To create such a vision and bring it into reality requires an emotional shift from hopelessness to optimism and inspiration, which then can mobilize any group - from dozens to millions.” Reiner saw this firsthand having grown up just a few miles from the border between East and West Germany, watching a small group of committed leaders peacefully bring down the Berlin Wall by mobilizing millions of people. This is one of many incidences or case studies he shares in Aspire to show the power of emotional IQ. The seven critical emotions are: ● Empathy – The Gate To Caring ● Compassion - The Commitment To Serving ● Interest – The Drive To Understanding ● Optimism – The Lens For Visioning ● Inspiration – The Energy For Mobilizing ● Trust – The Fuel For Collaborating ● Positivity – Being Resilient

Our culture is so seeped in bullying and abuse — from children's playgrounds to the upper echelons of leadership — that we've come to normalize the behavior and overlook the wreckage. This bullying paradigm has parents, teachers and coaches believing they must be tough to the point of emotional abuse in order for children to acquire the grit and resilience needed to attain excellence in a competitive world.  Setting high expectations in an atmosphere of safety, trust and empathy is light years away from using threats, humiliation and cruelty if the goal is high achievement. Neuroscientists have found visual evidence in brain scans of the damage that occurs when subjected to bullying and abuse. The bullied brain correlates with failure to perform, substance abuse, aggressive behavior, chronic disease and mental illness. Dr. Fraser shares not only how to survive bullying, but how to push back against the entrenched role it plays in society.

She discovered that psi research has been conducted on a grandscale for more than a century—by hundreds of scientists with hundreds of thousands ofparticipants—and that there exists substantial evidence for the reality of psi. She examines meta-analysis ofthese experiments, such as that of the Ganzfield tests, which showed odds against chance of 12 billion to1—throwing our current scientific materialistparadigm into question.Providing a deep dive into the literature of psychology, quantum physics, neuroscience, philosophy, andesoteric texts, Sobhani also explores the relationship between psi phenomena, the transcendence of spaceand time, and spirituality. Culminating with the author's serious reckoning with one of the foundationalprinciples of neuroscience—scientific materialism—this illuminating book shows that the mysteries ofhuman experience go far beyond what the present scientific paradigm cancomprehend.

Why, then, do some people manifest their desires so fluidly and naturally, while others are living lives of struggle, mediocrity, or quiet desperation? Hard work alone does not guarantee a positive result. In fact, pushing forward with determination and effort when things are not going as planned usually only makes a bad situation worse. The modern scientific world has no patience for the 'paranormal.' High strangeness experiences are explained away as dumb luck, coincidence, or misperception. Surely, we're told, no educated person could possibly believe in telepathy, spirits, ghosts, or magic. This energy is dedicated to sharing information with all humanity to improve life on earth and increase the probability of the survival of the human species. You do not need to believe in channeling to benefit from the wisdom being shared. The logical and scientific evidence presented is sufficient to understand that our human species is running out of time. If you care about your children, grandchildren, and generations to come, please read this short booklet and share it with as many friends and family members as you can. Just by sharing this booklet you will be participating in the grand adventure placed before us all to act before it is too late.  Simple acts and simple statements can make a huge difference. As Pax says, it is time for one-to-one communications to change the course of humanity. We cannot afford to wait for our institutions and leaders to take action. Too often, our leaders and institutions are conflicted, leading us astray. If the majority of individuals on our planet raise their awareness and focus on acts of kindness as their daily task, together we will begin to alter the devastation and suffering that has come not just from this pandemic but from our overall negligence in almost all aspects of civil life.  Human beings are special. It is time to experience the joy that comes from making a significant, positive difference in the lives of others and in the destiny of our planet. We are all unique, and each of us has a unique role to play in ending the destruction of our planet. Please join this effort to learn, share, and grow to become your best possible self.
