Columbus, Ind. — In the release of its Commercial Vehicle Dealer Digest, ACT Research reported that the North American commercial-vehicle market, as well as the global economy, addressed the spiraling pandemic with shutdown announcements, but the report continued by preparing readers for the restarting phase to come. The report, which combines ACT's proprietary data analysis from a variety of industry sources, paints a comprehensive picture of trends impacting transportation and commercial-vehicle markets. This monthly report includes a relevant, high-level forecast summary, complete with transportation insights for use by commercial-vehicle dealer executives, reviewing top-level considerations such as for-hire indices, freight, heavy- and medium-duty segments, the total US trailer market, used-truck sales information and a review of the nation's macro economy. “There has been a level of incrementalism to date in shutdown announcements by state and manufacturing entities, and generally speaking, to date we have seen one and two-week extensions to the initial timing of planned shutdowns, with many ‘playing this by ear',” said Kenny Vieth, ACT's president and senior analyst. “The immediate challenge, of course, is saving lives, but the next challenge is saving livelihoods, as the globe does not have the luxury of waiting a year or two for a , to be developed before the solution itself becomes the cause that risks lives.” Vieth elaborated on the subject of restarting the nation's economy, noting that “new layers of safety and testing protocols” will be needed “throughout an already complex supply chain, from the lowest to highest tiers and throughout the logistics and warehousing components, not just for new builds, but also for the aftermarket side of the business.” “It is one thing for the automotive/commercial/off-road industries to get supply chains up and running; it is another entirely to get buyers to market when the economy has so recently cratered and going outside poses an existential risk,” he said. Vieth concluded, “In a nutshell, the extent of the damage to the US economy will be directly proportional to the time it takes to bring the virus under control. Although no one really knows, with new COVID cases starting to level and vaccine trials underway, we hope that the herculean efforts of the past month or so have made a difference and life as we knew it can begin to return as the situation is de-risked.” ACT Research has created a COVID-19 Market Watch web page to track noteworthy high frequency macroeconomic and transportation-specific market indicators.

Topic Discussed : Global Medium/Heavy Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket Outlook, 2019Speakers: Stephen SpiveyKey Takeaways:The global medium and heavy truck aftermarket is a large, but often overlooked sector of the transportation industry. Although there are fewer commercial vehicles in use worldwide in comparison to passenger cars/trucks, companies spend more than five times as much on parts and service to keep them in service. This creates significant market opportunities for manufacturers, distributors, service providers, technology vendors and global investors, among other stakeholder groups. This research is the culmination of the work of Frost & Sullivan analysts located in regions throughout the world. It presents key industry highlights for 2018 and predictions for 2019, supported by comparative market metrics across 20 countriesThe vehicle scope includes on-road medium and heavy trucks. The product scope includes all post-warranty replacement parts, chemicals and accessories covering commercial vehicles. Revenue is presented at the manufacturer, distributor and end-user levelsThe research also represents the first published title in Frost & Sullivan’s new research program covering the commercial vehicle aftermarket. Future titles will focus on product categories including brakes, filters and re-manufactured components, as well as telematics /connected truck systems and other trends affecting the industry worldwideFor further insights, please join us for future podcasts and become a member of Frost & Sullivan’s Leadership Council by emailing us at: digital@frost.com or click here to Contact Us.Related Keywords: Frost & Sullivan, aftermarket, commercial vehicle, global, growth, heavy duty, market size, parts, retail, truckWebsite: www.frost.com See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Topic Discussed : Global Medium-Heavy Commercial Vehicle Market Outlook, 2019Speaker: Silpa PaulKey Takeaways:This research provides an outlook of the global medium-heavy truck market for the year 2019. The study also provides a review of the year 2018 which just passed by. The study examines the truck sales growth in 2018 and 2019 across regions and also provides projections for 2019. Some of the key technologies examined in the study are electric powertrain, Natural gas powertrain, autonomous driving, connected devices and digital services as these technologies received great interest (and investor dollars) in 2018. An example of the type of insights offered by the study is as follows- although battery electric powertrains receive great attention in trade shows and new channels, natural gas (NG) is a quietly growing alternative powertrain option especially in Europe and China where there is great regulatory pressure to cut emissions. Even in North America, roll out of California air resource board's (CARB) ultra-low NOx regulations will propel NG adoption in MD-HD trucks since current diesel engines cannot meet the proposed NOx limits. It covers sales forecasts for 2019 and trends into 2025 across- North America, South America, Europe, China, India, Russia, Next 11 and rest-of-the-worldFor further insights, please join us for future podcasts and become a member of Frost & Sullivan’s Leadership Council by emailing us at: digital@frost.com or click here to Contact Us.Related Keywords: Frost & Sullivan, Truck Outlook 2019, Commercial Vehicle Outlook 2019, medium duty truck market 2019, heavy duty truck market 2019, Electric truck, Battery Electric truck, Nikola, Tesla SEMI, Einride,Autonomous driving, Commercial Trucks, New Technology, Freightliner Inspiration, Truck Telematics, Digital freight brokerage, Urban trucking, Toyota e-pallete Tailpipe emissions, TCO electrificationWebsite: www.frost.com See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Road Rage TruckersRoad Rage Truckers, 1 Dead, Lives Ruined is the title of this weeks podcast. Road rage is very common in America but when truckers are involved it can be far worse. is aggressive or angry behavior exhibited by a driver of a road vehicle. These behaviors include rude and offensive gestures, verbal insults, physical threats or dangerous driving methods targeted toward another driver or a pedestrian in an effort to intimidate or release frustration. Road rage can lead to altercations, assaults and collisions that result in serious physical injuries or even death. Strategies include long horn honks, swerving, tailgating and attempting to fight the other driver.Courst records show that 4 Commercial Vehicle drivers were involved in what appeared to be war on the road. This battle would last for a distance of approximately 90 miles. The rage would unfold over many miles of cutting each other off and making very rude gestures to each other. While refusing to let each other pass. The end result would be a young lady dead and a young man injured for life. Lives ruined including trucking companies that had given them jobs and their own lives. Their conscience and careers would never be the same.http://bit.ly/CDLLifeRoadRage Road Rage Truckers participants are as follows. James Decou, Peter Barnes, Jonathan Hogaboom and Cory Frew were the truckers in this crazy road war. The innocent in this story would be Sara Allison and Matthew Allison. Allison would lose her life that day and Matthew would lose a wife and gain a life of physical and mental pain. Not to mention everyone that loved Allison would be forever haunted by the actions of these drivers. That Night of Terror Road Rage TruckersRoad rage Truckers 1 Dead, Lives Ruined. In 2016 on a particular evening 3 semi trucks and an rv were traveling on highway 20 in Oregon. As they were traveling somewhere along the way they began fighting with one another. About 90 miles later they would be on a "No Passing" area of highway 20 heading west near Burns OR. The line up would be as follows, Semi truck, RV, Semi Truck and Semi Truck in that order. The lead semi driven by Barnes would radio back to the semi behind the rv communicating that is was ok to pass the rv. While traveling west in the 'No passing zone" the the semi behind the rv decided to pass. That semi was driven by Decou. While in the oncoming lane the RV driven by Hogaboom would speed up when Decou would try to pass and would slow down when Decou tried to slow dow thus blocking him from regaining entry to the correct lane. It was then that the Allisons would see the battle up ahead. Sarah would make effort to avoid the what was going on by swearing towards the shoulder of the road. This effort would be to no avail as the truck driven by Decou would hit and kill her. Forever scaring all involved from the victims to their loved ones to even you the reader. Road Rage Truckers. Topic Discussed : Commercial Vehicle Market in Middle EastSpeakers : Zaheera AhmedKey Takeaways:The GCC's economic downturn has affected commercial sales over the last few years. However, the recovery of the oil price has positively affected the oil-dependent economies across the region. Regulatory changes such as VAT implementation and emission standards are also affecting the sales of vehicles as vehicle prices increase, and regulations are set to overhaul fleets. Growth within the commercial vehicle space is expected once again, which will be driven by the significant investment into infrastructure for transport and specifically tourism. Topic Discussed : Global School Bus Market Analysis, Forecast to 2025Speakers : Vineeth PurushothamKey Takeaways :Strong push by the governments in China, India and the Middle East towards regularizing and standardizing the school bus will be key to the market growth and challenge the dominance of North America. Rising safety standards and increasing automotive traffic will lead to high occupancy rate in School buses. School bus safety standards in North America are beyond those for any passenger carriers worldwide.
