Ferraris go pretty fast. It's crucial that drivers be able to see out the windows when they're doing 200 MPH. But that's just not the case with a recent batch of luxury sports cars the Italian automaker built for the U.S. So, they're being recalled.The company sent out an alert for 80 12Cilindri models, which retail for around $500,000, because the windows are too tinted. Earlier this month, Ferrari said it was alerted to the issue with the black rear and side windows on certain units, which feature more tint than what's allowed in some parts of the U.S.As the automaker pointed out in its recall, automobile glazing with less than 70% light transmittance can impair the driver's visibility and lead to a crash.According to Tint Wiz, many U.S. states are totally fine with tint levels with less than 70% light transmittance. The experience turned her into a dedicated safety advocate, focusing on collision avoidance, vehicle crashworthiness, and data-driven improvements to transportation safety. Jennifer has degrees in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania and Applied Automotive Technology from Montgomery College. During the Clinton Administration, she worked in the U.S. Department of the Treasury, where she was responsible for all tax policy matters related to insurance and managed care. She played important roles in the healthcare reform and Superfund reform efforts. Ms. Brooke is a prominent voice around the world on Diversity and Inclusion, including most prominently on LGBT inclusion and women. She has been named eleven times to the list of Forbes “World's 100 Most Powerful Women“. We need to update vehicle crash testing standards and practices to better understand the safety needs of a broader range of body types. Technologies exist that can give us a more accurate understanding of how all vehicle occupants are impacted in a crash. These technologies, which employ sensors and other advanced tools, create better data – which can lead to better designs that account for every body.
