Why did Disney make Moana 2 in secret in CANADA? Well, it might just have to do with the country's tax incentives for animation. Could Disney move other productions to Canada as well? Time will tell... ➡️ Tip Jar and Fan Support: http://ClownfishSupport.com ➡️ Official Merch Store: http://ShopClownfish.com ➡️ Official Website: http://ClownfishTV.com ➡️ Audio Edition: https://open.spotify.com/show/6qJc5C6OkQkaZnGCeuVOD1 ➡️ Gaming News: https://open.spotify.com/show/0A7VIqE3r5MQkFgL9nifNc Additional Context: Let's dive into this cinematic voyage and explore how Canada's policies could shape the future of Disney's production landscape. Canada offers a lucrative Canadian film or video production tax credit (CPTC), which provides a refundable tax credit of 25% of qualified labor expenditures, with no limit on the tax credit amount for a production. This incentive is designed to encourage production within Canada and support Canadian programming. Such financial incentives are crucial for large studios like Disney, seeking to maximize production efficiency and minimize costs without compromising quality. Moreover, Disney's strategic move to open a new production facility in Vancouver during the pandemic was highlighted as a savvy business decision, leveraging Canadian tax breaks and other incentives. This decision also taps into the country's rich pool of animation talent, with institutions like Sheridan and Vancouver Film School providing a steady stream of skilled graduates. The pandemic added layers of complexity to international work arrangements, making local production and hiring more appealing due to the logistical challenges and restrictions on cross-border movement. Disney's announcement of "Moana 2" set to hit theaters in November 2024 further cements the company's commitment to expanding this beloved franchise. Directed by Dave Derrick Jr. and featuring music from Grammy winners and nominees, the sequel promises an epic new adventure for Moana, Maui, and a brand-new crew, embarking on a journey into dangerous, long-lost waters. This pivot to Canada for "Moana 2" could signal a broader strategy by Disney to leverage international production incentives more aggressively. As animation and film production costs continue to rise, countries offering substantial tax breaks and incentives become increasingly attractive for studios looking to optimize their budgets. Canada's welcoming stance towards the film industry, coupled with its robust talent pool, makes it an ideal candidate for future Disney projects. While Disney has yet to publicly attribute "Moana 2"'s Canadian production directly to tax incentives, the financial and logistical advantages are clear. As we eagerly await the next chapter in Moana's saga, it's worth keeping an eye on Disney's global production strategies and whether other productions will follow Moana's lead to Canadian shores. Time will indeed tell if Canada becomes a new hub for Disney's animated adventures, but for now, the magic of "Moana 2" is set to captivate audiences from its Canadian production base. Meet Allan Dias, former real-life rock star, bass guitarist, and songwriter for Public Image Ltd (PiL). After twenty years of touring, the performing, partying lifestyle had taken a big toll on him—and he finally stepped away for health reasons. He came back stateside, walked into a bike shop, bought a bike, started riding again, and reconnected with his love of motion. That inexplicable feeling when propelling yourself forward through space and time. After entering a trail duathlon, he fell back in love with running after a twenty-year break. That began an incredible endurance athletics journey for Allan, immersing himself deeply into the rituals of training and mindset and focusing on pursuing his absolute best. Allan has freakish running range: he ran a 68-second 400M to place 3rd at Masters Nationals in March 2022 and ran 3:54:06 at Baystate Marathon—a 25-minute BQ at age 71, on 10/16/22. We took a deep dive into how qualifying for Boston meant so much and how he tapped into that in his training and on race day to make that dream come true. We also cover how grateful and blessed he feels to still be out there competing—running to inspire and giving back to the endurance sports community that has given him so much. Allan has also competed at the highest levels in cyclocross, mountain biking, road cycling, and once ran 65 miles on his 65th birthday. I'm absolutely blessed to call Allan a friend and supportive CPTC teammate. I'm so grateful to him for coming on and sharing wisdom from his inspiring journey. Welcome to Pediatric Meltdown! In Today's episode, our guest is https://parentandteen.com/author/ginsburgemail-chop-edu/ (Ken Ginsburg, MD, MSEd). Dr. Ginsburg re-frames adolescence - not peril and drama, but instead, a time marked by exploration, curiosity, and joy. Parents often believe that they won't matter anymore, but in reality, they matter more than ever. While teens are embarking on their journey to independence, the adults in their lives, us too, serve as guides and teachers. We are the emotional containers for big feelings and "lend our calm". Teens are "super learners" and the world is their oyster if we paint the journey with hope and excitement. Pediatric clinicians offer a safe space to share all the ups and downs. For teens and parents, knowing that we have their back is golden! Dr. Ginsburg is the Founder & Program Director, of the Center for Parent and Teen Communication He is a physician, adolescent medicine specialist, and Professor of Pediatrics at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He is committed to preparing adults to be the kind of people that adolescents deserve in their lives. He supports local, regional, and national organizations in developing programs and policies that strengthen families and see young people through a strength-based lens. He speaks to parent, professional, and youth audiences nationally and internationally and is the author of 5 award-winning parenting books as well as a toolkit for youth-serving professionals. CPTC is rooted in his strength-based philosophy and resilience-building model. [00:30 - 08:59] Pediatric Meltdown: Dr. Ken Ginsburg on the Importance of Adolescence Dr. Ken Ginsburg is the founder and program director of the center for parent and teen communication. He is a physician adolescent medicine specialist and professor of pediatrics at the children's hospital of Philadelphia. He supports local, regional, and national organizations in developing programs and policies that strengthen families and see young people through a strength-based lens. He speaks to parent-professional and youth audiences nationally and internationally, and is the author of five award-winning parenting books as well as a toolkit for youth-serving professionals. CPTC is rooted in his strength-based philosophy and resilience-building model. [08:59 - 17:37] How to Raise a Resilient Child At some point, parents need to learn how to do things independently, and adolescence is a crucial time for this. Parenting during this time can be difficult because parents are anxious and want to protect their children from harm. To help parents navigate this stage successfully, they need to remember that their children are growing and developing and that mistakes are part of the process. Parents should also share their strengths with their children and help them develop coping mechanisms for when stress is unavoidable. [17:37 - 26:38] The Truth About Adolescences Adolescents are emotional and rational beings, with brilliant emotional brains. The emotional brain takes over during adolescence, and this can be challenging for adults to manage. Adolescents need our guidance and support to think, plan, and reason. Communication with adolescents is different than when children are younger and requires a calm, respectful, and understanding approach. Adolescents are not inherently risky and need our guidance to explore their boundaries safely. [26:39 - 35:06] How to create golden opportunities at the limit of what they know To create golden opportunities at the limits of what they know, so that their brains, which want more and more knowledge, get it there and they don't have to go beyond those points. Make school incredibly enriching. You make home enriching, you make it so that when the kids are at their limits, their brains go as happy brains. If you don't give them those golden opportunities and don't set boundaries, then they will push too far and go into risk...

Athletic trainers (and all other healthcare practitioners for that matter) have a responsibility to provide care in a manner best suited for the person in need of that care. We work daily with highly diverse populations, and often times there may be instances of subconscious bias and unintentional pre-judgement potentially affecting the way we interact and the clinical decisions we make. The "Golden Rule" of "treat others the way you wish to be treated" is outdated...it's now the Platinum Rule of "treat others the way they wish to be treated, best suited for them." Having an empathetic approach to cultural competency and a strong understanding of how to foster equity and inclusion in your workplace while mitigating bias can be there difference between effective outcomes and broken rapport. Consider this podcast your Diversity, Inclusion, & Cultural Competency 101 course! Joining Ryan Stevens on this episode is Paula Guitierrez, MHA, CPTC, the Director of Diversity & Inclusion and PROUD Family Health at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset (RWJBarnabas Health). She has over 10 years of healthcare experience which includes work at NJ Sharing Network - an organization responsible for the allocation of organs and tissues for transplant. Her experience also includes work at NY Presbyterian/Weill Cornell as the Transplant Administrator for the Liver and Kidney/Pancreas Transplant division. A native of Englewood, New Jersey, she went on to graduate from New Jersey Institute of Technology with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Seton Hall University with a Master's degree in Healthcare Administration. In 2017, she received the Early Careerist Award from the NJ Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). Paula has knowledge in the design and implementation of programs and strategies that foster diversity, equity and inclusion; such as mitigating unconscious bias in hiring and promotion, mentoring, employee resource groups, diversity target setting and other inclusion practices. She has also been instrumental in the expansion of PROUD Family Health, NJ's first LGBT primary health care center affiliated with a major hospital system. In August 2019, she was appointed as Director of PROUD Family Health where she provides day-to-day operational oversight and programmatic growth. Paula, as a Civil Rights Commissioner for Bloomfield Township, NJ, serves as an adjunct professor at Seton Hall University's School of Health and Medical Sciences and sits on the board of directors of the American College of Healthcare Executives NJ Chapter.
