In this powerful episode of Journey of Hope, host Elio Constantine reconnects with Milad, Heart for Lebanon's field manager and a lead pastor, to discuss the recent challenges and triumphs faced by communities in southern Lebanon. As the region emerges from a period of intense conflict, they reflect on the impact of the September aggression between Israel and Hezbollah, which displaced hundreds of thousands of people and forced Heart for Lebanon to temporarily halt operations. However, with the recent ceasefire and the formation of a new government, hope is beginning to flourish once again.Milad shares heartwarming stories of answered prayers, highlighting the resilience of individuals like Malak, who feared for her daughter's safety during the turmoil but found solace in God's presence. The episode emphasizes how the community has rallied together, with the Hope Center reopening its doors to provide education and spiritual support, nurturing the next generation in a safe environment.Listeners will be inspired by testimonies of transformation, including the story of Basam and his son, Raad, who overcame anxiety through prayer and faith. Milad also recounts the experience of Fadia, who found refuge after losing her home, demonstrating how God's love shines through even in the darkest times. As the episode unfolds, Milad reveals a growing interest in the Gospel among individuals from diverse backgrounds, showcasing the power of faith to unite and heal. With an increasing number of seekers attending Bible studies, the message of hope is spreading across the region.Join Elio and Milad as they celebrate the resilience of the human spirit and the unwavering faith that continues to guide the people of Lebanon. My guest on the show today is Fadia Abdouni. She's a first-generation Brazilian, and a daughter to Lebanese immigrants. After finishing dental school training in Brazil, she moved to the US to specialize in oral and maxillofacial surgery. She decided on her career pretty early in life but never imagined it wouldn't be a career she retired with.  After 12 years of work as an oral surgeon, Fadia felt like the work she was doing wasn't aligned with her soul. She then made a very scary but liberating decision to become a professional coach, an energy worker, and a meditation teacher. She has always known she was extremely gifted in energy work, but she never dared to pursue this rather unusual career when she was younger.  Luckily she listened to her true calling and could not be happier about the changes she has made. Her story is incredibly inspiring, especially to those who know that the career they have chosen no longer aligns with them, but are afraid to take the scary first step to bring the necessary change. Well don't worry, Fadia will be your inspiration. This special episode is a lesson and dialogue with our inspiring friend, Fadia- a resilient and faithful disciple from the Middle Eastern country of Jordan. Fadia has endured devastating trials, many on account of her faith in Jesus, including the imprisonment of her beloved husband. She shares with us the courage and convictions that have carried her through even the darkest of valleys, and the strength and purpose she finds in God. Episode Notes: Judges 4-5 -God appoints Deborah Deborah responds to God's call and plan- using her gifts, talents, and wisdom. Deborah was committed and obedient to God, even in hard times When we are women that are committed to God's plan, we can find strength we never knew we could possess. We don't like the times when we endure trials- but these are when we grow closer to God and find strength and direction from Him. It takes courage to trust that God is in control. When I am Weak, Then I am Strong2 Corinthians 12:9-10 - "But {The Lord} said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."Are you obedient to God's commandment and voice, even in the hard times? When Deborah achieved victory, she didn't forget the victory belonged to God. She praised and celebrated God after He worked powerfully and gave the vicory. (Judges 5) When WE have victories in our life, we shouldn't give credit to ourselves and "our" strength, we should give Him all the glory! We can celebrate the victories WITH God.He is an Almighty, Holy, and Loving Lord- He has a purpose and a call for YOU. We can be women that are committed to God even in the hardest times. We can be courageous through trusting God and His word, and sharing God's love with others. We can be thankful to God for His work within and through us. Faith is built in the darkest of valleys. No man can fill the role that designed for women. Satan will try to tell us lies- that we are inferior or inadequate. We must denounce his lies as we fill ourselves with God's truth. Respond to God's call Be committed in any circumstance or situation. Be courageous by trusting God to work- He will never forsake you. Let's pray for our sisters in the Middle East!
