Hey everyone, welcome to the Solo Gaming Updates -- my quarantine mini-series for the Bros and Consoles podcast! My plan is still to put out 2-3 Solo Gaming Update episodes a week (every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, as my schedule allows), with an emphasis on games I've been playing, new titles to be excited about on the horizon, and likely a fair share of trophy talk. :D This episode talks a bit about some nostalgic games I've played recently, obviously focused around Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning this week, as well as my own plans for eventually making an RPG via a new release this week called RPG Maker MV! I also threw in some first impressions for a slightly older game as well -- Call of Duty: World War II. As always, feel free to reach out if you guys and gals have any questions, comments, or feedback for the show! The contact info is posted below: Twitter: @IndieRonin Email: brosandconsoles@gmail.com PSN: IndieRonin I look forward to podcasting for you all again and getting back into the swing of things! Thanks for all the support, and hope you're all staying safe and healthy! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/brosandconsoles/support

Later as a freelance composer, he scored video games such as: Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire, Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, Dead Island 2, Anew: The Distant Light and other indie and AAA titles.Inspired at an early age by classic Japanese game soundtracks, Roget specializes in writing music that employs memorable themes, developed throughout the score in a traditional fashion. Wilbert Roget II's most recent video game score is for the famous CALL OF DUTY franchise.Call of Duty® is makes a dramatic return to the greatest military conflict in history and where the franchise first began, World War II. CALL OF DUTY: WORLD WAR II takes the franchise back to its roots in a bold cinematic experience that captures the unforgettable heroism of the soldiers who fought together in a war that changed the world forever. Activision's gripping new title is an honest portrayal of World War II from the perspective of the famed 1st Infantry Division, with an ensemble cast of global and diverse characters. Through stunning visuals and intense audio, players storm the beaches of Normandy on D-Day, march across France to liberate Paris and ultimately push forward into Germany in some of the most monumental battles of all-time.In this episode, Wilbert Roget II discusses coming on to score the next entry into the popular video game franchise originally scored by composer Michael Giacchino back in 2003. Giacchino's Call of Duty scores greatly influenced Roget's career choice and were scores he once studied in college. You will hear Wilbert Roget talk through four tracks "Marigny, Paris, Burga and A Brotherhood of Heroes" having selected each track as they best exemplify his CALL OF DUTY: WORLD WAR II score, the game's musical direction and collaborative process employed to make the score a reality. Call of Duty is top best-selling first-person shooter series based on real events, but lately it has veered into futuristic sci-fi country. Call of Duty: World War II is an attempt to go back to the games WW2 roots. And historian Marty Morgan is there to make sure they get it right. He's an expert in military history who specializes in the World Wars. Morgan is a consultant for Sledgehammer Games. He has also has led hundreds of tour groups at the battle sites of D-Day, the Battle of the Bulge, and Hürtgen Forest. Marty makes sure that everything is right in the series. He focuses on which guns should be used on the Western Front or insignia on soldier's uniform. He makes sure that snipers are actually using the rifles they would have at that time (don't get him started on the erroneous use of weapons in Saving Private Ryan). He led Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey, co-founders of Sledgehammer, through the battlefields of Europe in the middle of winter to get a real feel of the soldiers' wartime experience. There they faced three or four feet of snow. There were still foxholes and trenches in the middle of nowhere. In the forest they saw a 60-ton King Tiger tank left by the Germans because it was too heavy to move. He worked with the creative team to give historical accuracy to the most Hollywood of scenes in the game. At point point the writers wanted a scene with a train. They asked Marty, 'What sort of train would be transporting important equipment in April 1944 that we could crumple?” He came up with a German military train carrying a V2 Rocket that ends in a climactic crash.   RESOURCES MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE Marty Morgan on Youtube www.martinkamorgan.com       TO HELP OUT THE SHOW Leave an honest review on iTunes.
