This week on Autonomy Markets, Grayson Brulte and Walter Piecyk discuss Wayve's OEM partnership with Nissan, Nuro's Series E capital raise and why the Uber/Waymo partnership in Austin does not guarantee future deployments. Wayve is going to power Nissan's next-generation ProPILOT technology starting in fiscal year 2027. The deal with Nissan validates Wayve's business model of licensing and raises the question of is Nuro next in line to secure a major OEM partnership? As the autonomy economy evolves, licensing autonomous driving systems is going to accelerate fragmentation, potentially benefitting both Uber and Lyft. In Austin, Waymo is available exclusively through Uber. While early signs point to success, it's far from guaranteed that the partnership will scale beyond Austin and Atlanta, especially as Waymo continues to expand on it's own with Waymo One.Episode Chapters0:00 Wayve Partners with Nissan 3:12 Autonomous Driving OEM Partnerships 5:24 Nuro Series E7:12 Autonomous Driving Partnerships Ecosystem 13:01 Could Tesla xAI Swap Assets?17:19 Zoox Expands Testing to LA18:27 Will Zoox Launch Commercial Service in 2025?20:25 Waymo Needs More OEM Partnerships 23:40 U.S. / China Policy 28:00 Europe / China Policy 31:19 Uber / Waymo Austin Data 36:49 Unforced Error of The Week38:52 Next WeekRecorded on Friday, April 11, 2025--------About The Road to AutonomyThe Road to Autonomy® is a leading source of data, insight and commentary on autonomous vehicles/trucks and the emerging autonomy economy™.Autonomy is transforming industries and creating an entirely new economy that we call the autonomy economy™. On Wednesday, the Biden administration vetoed a UN Security Council resolution designed to save the terrorist organization known as Hamas from utter – and possibly imminent – destruction at the hands of Israel. The Jewish State was thereby spared the strategic disaster of having to agree to an immediate, unconditional and permanent ceasefire in Gaza or face crippling international sanctions. Hold the champagne. Team Biden wanted to allow the ceasefire resolution to pass – and would have, but for the fact that it didn't require Hamas to release hostages seized during the October 7 the massacre. The U.S. administration had no problem with the prospect that Israel's jihadist enemy – and ours – would live to fight another day. And its treacherous efforts to topple her democratically elected government were bolstered by the International Criminal Court's arrest warrant issued yesterday for Benjamin Netanyahu for alleged war-crimes. Shameful. This is Frank Gaffney.

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Joe From Queens returns for the first time in over eight and a half months for plenty of spirited Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres talk in addition to shedding light on the fall out that led to Joe's long absence. Behind the scenes issues between Patrick and Joe led to Joe not wanting to be on the podcast for several months and the guys are candid in talking about it, with both sides presenting the personal problems they had with each other during the process. After the dust settles from discussing the podcast breakup the guys turn their attention to the Bills and Sabres, and Joe has plenty of takes on both of them, including his desire to see Sean McDermott push to have their primary resources directed towards wide receiver and Josh Allen throwing the ball more as opposed to putting money and draft capital more heavily on the defense. That plus examining if the Sabres drought has been worse than the Bills 17-year drought before 2017, how the card is currently looking for Wrestlemania at this point and plenty more.
