Sonny “The StreetFighter” Chiba? Hiroyuki “Duke” Sanada? Ninja's, swords, magic, samurais and exploitations? AN EYEPATCH?!?!! Yes folks, take our money indeed. We revelled in this gem from the 1981 SHOUT! Sonny Chiba Collection from Director Kinji Fukasaku starring an impossibly young Duke Sanada and his mentor Sonny Chiba, grizzled one eyed samurai Jubei. No question this film was ‘homaged' almost wholesale in modern samurai and ninja cinema and anime with more than one scene being recreated in films like Ninja Scroll – with good reason. This movie is balls out crazy and incredibly memorable, amazing set design steals the show and legendary performances by Sonny Chiba and Kenji Sawada's villain Shiro absolutely seal the deal. Unsheathe your swords and help us vanquish rapey zombie monks in Samurai Reincarnation!

This week, Sam and Omar look at a double-double regerts from TX Rep. Dan Crenshaw aka Eyepatch where he shouted down at a 10 year old ("I've been there, man" - Sam) and him admiting on a podcast that how are politicians are supposted to better themselves in Congress if they don't insider trade? "Allegedly." ("Well, how the hell are they!?" - Omar as he yells at a 10 year old girl). -- All Regerts, a podcast about regrets, is a comedy podcast that delivers on a genuine, flagrant, and hilarious experience. In an era of fake likes and cloud-chasing, Omar Gonzalez, CPA, and Sam Noorani talk frankly about dumb actions we've done and said that make people feel rather (or super) lousy than make fun of them. We also take outside regrets found all over the news, forums and make fun of them. Sometimes we have guests, or it's just us two of us while sharing what we've learned from our regrets. Or like make fun of them. Whatevs. Live your life, man. Sam Noorani is a comic and writer based out of Austin, TX. She had written, and performed comedy in various locations, leaning towards the weird and ridiculous who performs in various Austin-based theatres. Omar Gonzalez, CPA, is working at a private non-profit entity. He resides in his adopted hometown of El Paso. Not El Paso, TX, because we are our own unique culture. Omar performed stand-up comedy in Austin for two years until the pandemic sent him back home to care for his immediate family. Omar is setting up his private CPA practice and planning a return to stand-up comedy. Hi there! This is Ian Geers and Lauren Grace Thompson. We're the creators and directors of The Vanishing Act: A Rambling Absurdity in 12 (ish) Parts. The basic premise of the show is this: In 1699, renowned stage magician Jean Jacquline Lemarque vanished himself and the entire audience of his magic show at his final performance at the Theatre des Tuileries in Paris. Meanwhile, in 1933, a grumpy German set designer, an American con man, an unfortunately named scientist, and a duck, all search for the answer to one question: how did he do it? And, as is usual with farces, they also get a bit sidetracked along the way. The selection you're about to hear is part of one of our new set of episodes, which is what we're eligible for as a returning show--it's from our overall tenth episode, called The Eyepatch. In it, we pick right up in Hollywood in 1937, where our previously-mentioned American con-man, Conrad Webley Griffson has bluffed and blustered his way into being the head writer of a new RKO film, the horrendously-titled The Glorious and Mournful Sort. Meanwhile, across town, grumpy expat German set designer, Augie Eckhart, is in final rehearsals for his play--the culmination of his obsession with The Disappearing of the Theatre des Tuileries, a show about the disappearance called The Vanishing Act. At the last minute, he's decided to add Lilith Von Hitzler, an unfortunately-named scientist who has finished her own replica of the Vanishing Box, to the cast, playing Jean-Jacquline Lemarque. She has many skills--acting is decidedly not one of them. This is a serialized show, so we always recommend starting from the beginning, but we think this episode will get you established pretty darn well with our main eligible cast members, and the world of the show. Welcome! Transcript can be found at: https://vanishingpod.com/tva-transcript-10 https://vanishingpod.com Twitter: @vanishingpod

Season Two: Episode Six. Ian is joined by The Vern from Cinema Recall to discuss three films starring Kurt Russell. From an iconic role, a 1980s team up with an acclaimed director and that eyepatch we have it covered.
This week we watched Cruella, a SPECTACULAR movie about the dog-based Jokering of a young woman inflicted by the INCOMPERABLE littering enthusiast Emma Thompson. Be careful with this one, it'll cork ya right in the eye and not feel bad about it. So please, very carefully, give it a listen.
If you think Godzilla's legacy is nothing more than silly movies featuring men in rubber suits stomping on model trains, then this week's episode is for you. An examination of 1954's Gojira finds the boys exploring some unexpectedly dark ruminations on technology and history — and humanity's tendency to get confused about both. Levi defends Godzilla's place as the most iconic of all movie monsters, while Johnathon wonders if and when we'll ever account for all the losses of the COVID years. Also, don't miss the new theme song in the intro. Long live the banjo.
