My name is Steve Owens and I meet a lot of people; sometime in my travels, sometimes in my own home town. Several times (quite by accident), I have stumbled into what I consider to be fascinating stories. So after way too many got away, I decided to start recording them. Some of these conversations will be fascinating ONLY to me. Some will be fascinating to you too. In the end, I guess this podcast is just an excuse for me to get to travel, meet, and talk to more people. Trauma changes you permanently. It affects you and forever alters how you interact and engage with the world. While that is terrible, there is good news, like a fresh cup of coffee after a good night's sleep good. You can heal. The damage to your brain, which trauma does cause, can be healed. There are many ways to mend, such as with medicine or therapy. There is one area that I think we need to look at as well, spiritual. On this episode I am joined by a very special guest, Ashley Brothers. A motivational speaker, an international life coach, and a teacher and practitioner of shamanic healing and energy medicine, Ashley takes us deep into the process of healing from things like trauma on a soul level. We will explore how spirituality can help to heal those wounds that seem to always reopen, and fester in other areas of our lives. This is an episode that you don't want to miss. Send us a textI'm so glad I was able to have Sean on the show. His upbringing and pathway to this branch of Law Enforcement has to be one of the most unique yet! He served several years in the Navy before being hired and working for the AZ Dept. of Corrections in Safford and Douglas, AZ. Ultimately he was hired by Pima County where his career took off. He helped create Security Services which tracked gangs and gang activity within the jail. This was such a goldmine of information, not only did he become a subject matter expert for prosecutors, he became a tremendous resource to investigators on the streets as well. Now, he travels across the US, teaching jailers and helping agencies write policy to prevent lawsuits. Give him a warm, Choir Practice, welcome and enjoy the show!
