For women's history month, we decided to bring you an insanely bad ass story about three women who joined the resistance against the fascist regime during WWII and together took down countless high ranking Nazi Officers. We often ask ourselves if we would be the people to step up and do what needs to be done, but hearing the way these women matched the brutality of some of the most horrific men in history has us wondering if we have what it takes go against our humanity in the name of justice. Truly an inspiration and reminder to us all to go down swinging. Guten Tag, weirdos. Are you ready to burn your bra and kill some Nazis? This week we are revisiting our hit series from 2020 - the SNACK PACK IS BACK as we learn about some AMAZING WOMEN from history that our history books just forgot to mention. Ashley and Lauren are joined by Keep It Beard host AMY HANSELMANN as we discover some ladies who changed the world. This week we're focusing on some badass bitches from WWII- Truus and Freddie Oversteegen who, for lack of a better term, seduced Nazis and traitors to their death in the Netherlands. They joined forces with the famous "girl with the red hair" Hannie Schaft- a skilled assassin who was brutally tortured and put to death after spending years on Hitlers "most wanted" list. And Amy brings us the story of Irena Sendler-- who saved TWICE AS MANY jews from death than Oskar Schindler, and yet, has no mainstream movie. Irena did whatever she had to do to protect Jewish people, and especially Jewish children, from the Nazi forces- saving over 2,500. We hope this series educates you and INSPIRES you to be a troublemaker and do what is right, even in the face of certain death. Raise badass women who all grow up to know Hannie Schaft's last words to her executioner: "I shoot better."

In this episode we head to the German occupied Netherlands in the midst of WW2. Freddie & Truus Oversteegen, two young sisters, join the Dutch Resistance and use their gender, youth and perceived innocence to spy on and eventually kill Nazi soldiers. In the resistance they meet and team up with Hannie Schaft a fellow Nazi fighter, the legendary “girl with the red hair”, whom Hitler himself wanted captured and killed. Together the three were an integral part of the resistance until the Nazis were defeated and the war came to an end.
Today we have three badass women to balance out some of the awful people we usually talk about. Freddie Oversteegen, her sister Truus, and Hannie Schaft were in Europe when the Nazis started fucking with all the countries they could. And rather than sit back and take it, like all the politicians in the Netherlands did, these broads fought back with enough fury, and results, to make Aldo the Apache giggle with delight. Enjoy the story of these teenage asskickers!

Freddie and Truus Oversteegen were just 14 and 16 years old when the Nazis invaded their hometown of Haarlem. Determined to do their part, the sisters joined the Dutch Resistance and began bombing trains, smuggling out Jewish children, and running refugee safehouses. But their most dangerous work by far was also the most unlikely for two young girls to ever take on: assassinating Nazi officers in broad daylight. With our guest Sophie Poldermans, author of … The post THE RESISTANCE Truus and Freddie Oversteegen appeared first on What'shername.
Seducing and Killing Nazis: Hannie, Truus and Freddie: Dutch Resistance Heroines of WWII This is the astonishing true story of three teenage Dutch girls, Hannie Schaft and sisters Truus and Freddie Oversteegen, that has inspired many throughout the world. When Nazi Germany invaded the Netherlands in World War II, these girls took up arms against the enemy by seducing high-ranking Nazi officers, luring them into the woods and killing them. They provided Jewish children with safe houses and gathered vital intelligence for the resistance. They did what they did "because it had to be done." Above all, they tried to remain human in inhuman circumstances. Hannie Schaft was executed by the Nazis three weeks before the end of the war and became the icon of female Dutch resistance. Truus and Freddie Oversteegen survived the war, but were forever haunted by the demons of their past.

This week we travel back in time to World War II Germany and learn of Truus and Freddie Oversteegen and Hannie Shaft in this weeks true crime episode. Listen to Amy tell the girls how these three young ladies became such badasses at such a young age and how they defied what was "normal" for girls their age during the war.
This episode was absolute chaos to upload. But, technical difficulties aside, it's probably one of my favorite episodes to date. Let's talk about Freddie and Truus Oversteegen, sisters who were the youngest members of the underground Haarlem Council of Resistance during World War II. Their missions? Seduce and murder Nazi commanders, sabotage railways, and free Jewish people from concentration camps. All while they were 14 and 16 years old.
Sophie Poldermans is a Dutch lecturer and women's rights activist, and the founder of "Sophie's Women of War." Sophie has documented some World War II history in her new boook: "Seducing and Killing Nazis". She personally knew Truus and Freddie Oversteegen for 20 years and worked closely with them for over a decade as a board member of the National Hannie Schaft Foundation. Hannie Schaft was killed by Nazis for her work in the Dutch Resistance, just 7 weeks before the war ended. She was just 25, and had been doing her work since she was 19. These Dutch Heroines gathered vital information, provided Jewish children with safe houses, stole identification papers, and bombed railways, along with liquidating the invaders. Sophie carries on this work because she knows we must not forget the past, as well, war continues, and women and children continue to be victimized. sophieswomenofwar.com/ , seducingandkillingnazis.com/
Freddie Oversteegen was 14 when she joined the Dutch resistance.

This Sistory episode features a war hero referred to as a "real-life Black Widow," despite the fact that the Marvel character debuted almost twenty-five years after this teenager began taking Nazi soldiers out (in both senses of the word). We may never know just how many soldiers Freddie Oversteegen killed in her time with the Dutch resistance movement in World War Two, but we do know one thing: she is a badass.
Round 1: Fuck Springing ahead on the clock. Losing an hour of sleep is a real bitch but we have some folks who have it way worse to start this week.Round 2: Freddie Oversteegen was a boss ass bitch who killed a bunch of Nazis during World War 2. She was a lethal seductress whose story deserves telling so that's just what we're gonna do.Round 3: The US will no longer disclose civilian deaths in drone strikes outside of war zones and that seems bad, right? Yeah. That's bad.Round 4: We posted a video of Marines doing Pugil sticks training and it's going viral. We are all glad that Instagram wasn't a part of our lives when we were junior troops because we'd look like some boot bitches.Round 5: Former US Senator and war hero Bobby Dole is being promoted from Captain to Colonel which shits all over Chaps' meritorious promotion from sergeant to staff sergeant.

Freddie Oversteegen was 14 when she joined the Dutch resistance, though with her long, dark hair in braids she looked at least two years younger.
