Jesus invites us to gather around the table—not only to share a meal, but to share in each other’s joy and sorrow. He calls us to hold one another’s wounds with tender care, just as the Spirit holds and comforts us all. But how does this actually work? What does the author of James mean when its written, “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed” (James 5:16). In a culture that prizes individualism and competition, Jesus offers another way, a life where transparency and vulnerability are not weaknesses, but rather they are strong healing medicines by which we are made both free and whole by God’s Spirit. Come, let us become a joyful community as we practice confessing the truth about ourselves and the truth about God’s astounding, healing, unending love for us.

Sometimes, the best response is silence. In this message, *Embrace Yourself and Learn to Be Silent,* we explore the importance of acknowledging our wrongs, seeking reconciliation, and trusting God to handle the rest. The Pharisees had their own brand of righteousness. Our righteousness is like filthy rags, so we have our own as well. We might be made the righteousness of God. Jesus was made flesh and dwelt among us, so that we might be made the righteousness of Him. We're not what we're going to be but praise God we're not what we used to be. Live for the audience of one. As long as you're pleasing the savior, you don't need to please anyone else.

3 Things To Help Us Increase In Our Connecting With God: Pray with faith. Pray frequently. Pray fervently.
Prayer is not getting man's will done in Heaven, but getting God's will done on earth. The more we submit ourselves to God's will, the more we can exercise our authority in the Name of Jesus. King Jesus gave us the Keys of the Kingdom, authorising us to bind the power of the enemy, and loose the power of God on earth.

One of the most vulnerable times in life is when we feel despised, overlooked, or under-appreciated. In these seasons our hearts may tend to follow after worthless promises. The good news is that there is a promise of freedom for all those who will turn to Christ from those worthless ways of living. It was true for the people of the city of Abel in 2 Samuel 20, and it is still true today. Together, we can find freedom in even the most difficult circumstances.
Pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16
Today we are going to talk about James 5:16. This can be misunderstood to believe that real healing happens when we confess our sins to each other. God still does the healing and forgiving of sins. We will discuss what it means not to hide from each other when there are difficult or crucial conversations to be had within the church. Let's not avoid or hide from each other but find the healing God has for us. Tabor website mentioned in the show for today: taborchicago.org The music on the podcast is by John Nugent. Direction of Christian Renewal Church Four Steps We Want People To Go On With Us The Importance Of Connecting With Others
Two basic needs--to be known, to be needed What do circles do?
James 5:16 tells us that the heartfelt prayer of one of God's people makes a big difference in this life. David explores this concept and challenges us to use life's lessons to rely on prayer and to understand the right way to pray.
So often those sins that are so difficult to overcome are ones that remain secret and hidden. God knows that about sin and knows we need His provision to deal with our sin. One of those provisions He made are our fellow Christians. Paul instructs us to bear one another's burdens and James tells us to confess our sins to one another. This week Pastor Tim discusses why these passages are so powerful in dealing with the sin in our lives.
Is there a simple solution to peace of mind? As we continue in our prayer series, P4P guy Sean Cronin shares simple prayer and biblical tips to help us pray prayers that God hears and answers.
