The first 11 players –seven men and four women– to be inducted into New Zealand Cricket's hall of fame have been announced. The rules require inductees to have played for New Zealand and to have been retired for at least five years, with criteria weighted in favour of performance, leadership and influence. Emily Drumm, Debbie Hockley, and Brendon McCullum are among the first inductees, and Piney caught up with each of them after the ceremony to discuss the honour. “To be part of this, you know, inaugural first 11 .... it's a very, very special thing, the likes of probably which I haven't experienced before,” Hockley told him. “It's a New Zealand cricket family, and I've been privileged to be involved in many things, post cricket, but this is really special,” Drumm said. “It's incredibly humbling, you know, like I grew up wanting to play cricket for my country and I would have played one test to have played as long as I did and to have any impact whatsoever was, was pretty amazing, and I feel pretty grateful for it,” McCullum said. It is a WONDER that God sent a Redeemer to save us (John 3:17, Titus 3:4, Luke 9:56). It is a WONDER because God FORGIVES our sins (Psalm 103:12, Isaiah 53:6, Colossians 2:13-14). It is a WONDER because God ADOPTS us as children (Ephesians 1:5, Romans 8:14,16). It is a WONDER because God gives us a NEW NATURE (John 1:12-13, 2 Corinthians 5:17). It is a WONDER because God makes us a HOME with Him forever (John 14:2). The GREATEST WONDER is that God CHOSE US for Himself (Ephesians 1:4, Romans 5:8). (2) The WISDOM of the Choice. It is WISE, because those who belong to Christ have GRACE to help in time of need (Romans 5:1-2, Hebrews 4:16). It is WISE because those who choose Christ have POWER over sin (Romans 6:11-12, Galatians 5:16). It is WISE because in Christ we have AUTHORITY over satan (Colossians 1:13, Luke 10:19, James 4:7). It is WISE because by choosing Jesus we can have VICTORY over the world (1 John 5:4-5). (3) The WEIGHT of the Choice We must SUBMIT to Christ (our lives are not our own). We must FOLLOW Christ (denying ourselves). We must OBEY Christ (serving in His Kingdom) - 1 John 5:3, Matthew 11:30, Psalm 23:4,6, Isaiah 43:2. If you HAVEN'T chosen Jesus, why not make TODAY the day that you do?

(1) The soul is created by God (Genesis 2:7). (2) The soul is created in God's image (Gen 1:27, Psalm 8:4-5). (3) The soul is created to be eternal (immortal). (4) The soul is created for fellowship with God (Jeremiah 9:23-24). (B) The DANGER of WASTING your SOUL (Luke 12:15, 2 Chronicles 1:15, 9:20,22-23, Mark 10:21-22, Ecclesiastes 9:3). (1) You can never gain the whole world anyway. (2) What we do gain, we can't keep. (3) Even if you could gain the world and keep hold of it, it would never satisfy. (C) The DISASTER of LOSING your SOUL (Ezekiel 18:4, Mark 8:36-37) (1) When the soul is lost, its true value becomes clear. (2) Once the soul is lost, it is irreversible (Hebrews 9:27). (3) Once the soul is lost, it is lost forever (Mark 9:48). (4) What we accumulate on earth has no value towards eternity. (D) The DELIGHT of SURRENDERING your SOUL (John10:10, Romans 5:8, Isaiah 53:6, 2Corinthians 5:17, Romans 10:9-10). Matthew 11:28-29: "Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

Only in Him is there PEACE in this world and HOPE in the next world. (2): The Merchant represents Jesus Christ, who loved us and came and gave His all (even His Blood) to purchase us for Himself, that we might be freed from sin and belong to Him forever.

On March 9, 2023, 27-year-old Kay-Alana Turner left a friend's home in Silsbee, Texas, and headed toward Austin, about four hours away, apparently to see a friend. In the days leading up to March 9, Kay-Alana had not been sleeping well, and she didn't seem quite like herself. Witnesses in the towns of Hockley and Tomball, Texas, interacted with Kay-Alana in the early morning hours of March 10. She had been asking people if she could sleep in their driveways. By this time, Kay-Alana's phone had died. Around 6 AM, a homeowner in the Holly Creek Estates subdivision in Tomball, Texas, noticed Kay-Alana's car in their driveway, and she was asleep inside. The homeowner decided to call someone from their homeowner's association and other neighbors. They gathered around Kay-Alana's car and attempted to wake her. Kay-Alana was scared and decided to drive her car away, but they blocked her. Then, an officer from Harris County broke Kay-Alana's driver-side window. She bolted, first by driving her car through the yard, out through some farmland, and eventually into the woods, where the vehicle got stuck. With deputies behind her on foot, she decided to run. Kay-Alana dropped her phone along the way and later removed her shoes, full of glass from the broken window. In the days that followed, Kay-Alana's loved ones began to compare notes and came to believe that she was suffering a mental health crisis that night.
