When people living with MS find themselves unable to continue working due to disability, they turn to Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI). And when they do, many are surprised to find the long, winding, sometimes confusing road that lies ahead. This week, disability law expert Jamie Hall joins me to demystify the process of applying for SSDI benefits. Jamie specializes in social security and long-term disability law. And he, literally, wrote the book for the National MS Society on applying for SSDI benefits. We'll also tell you about the amazing work this year's recipient of the Barancik Prize for Innovation in MS Research is involved in. We're reporting on the progress that scientists are making in penetrating the blood brain barrier (And we'll remind you about why that makes a real difference for everyone living with MS!) We're sharing the details about KYV-101, the experimental CAR-T cell therapy that's been given a Fast Track designation by the FDA. We'll tell you about study results that show people with a university education are more likely to be on a disease-modifying therapy. And we're sharing study results that identify the inequity in geographic proximity to MS care in the United States. We have a lot to talk about! Are you ready for RealTalk MS??! Jamie Hall is a musician, producer and main man behind the British band Tigercub. Perfume of Decay, their debut on Pearl Jam legend Stone Gossard's Loosegroove records, their third record of nocturnal, hard-hitting rock, frontman Jamie Hall draws the curtains shut and embraces a moody, melancholic sound that's every bit as cinematic as Hollywood itself. It's an album about counterpoint and opposites, stacked with songs that contrast overdriven guitars with whispered vocals, tight grooves with shoegazing swells of noise, sonic experimentation with sharp songwriting. For a band that's always trafficked in drama and dynamics, The Perfume of Decay marks Tigercub's strongest release to date.
If you party to hard at the Pav Tav you make have to make a tactical chunder! On this week's Discover New Music Brock catches up with Jamie Hall, lead singer of Tigercub, to discuss the band's third studio album “The Perfume of Decay.” Jamie shares how more creative freedom on this record allowed the band to find the sound they truly is feel is the Tigercub sound. Plus, Brock tests Jamie and the fellas on there Sussex slang and play a quick round of Rapid Fire. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Tigercub “Tigercub steps up to claim the front runner status as the new heavy. They emerge from Brighton UK under the 7 foot frame of Mr. Jamie Hall and his Tigercub.” ~ Stone Gossard Revolver announced that Loosegroove Records has signed Tigercub c/w US Headlines dates in conjunction with their US & Canada shows supporting Clutch & EYEHATEGOD. The signing of Tigercub on Loosegroove Records marks the reboot of the influential indie label that Gossard founded back in 1994 with Regan Hagar. Significantly Gossard and Hagar signed Queens of the Stone Age and released the band's debut album in 1998, providing a foundation to build to where they are now. “When we discovered Tigercub, it felt like the right time to start Loosegroove back up,” says Hagar. Stone adds “It's almost 23 years to date that Queens of the Stone Age debuted at Mercury Lounge in NYC. And now Tigercub makes their Big Apple debut in the same club on April 16th. This is just the beginning for this incredibly talented group from Brighton UK to enlighten us Yanks to the sound of the new heavy!” Tigercub's latest album ‘As Blue As Indigo' was met with rave reviews from metal, rock and alt press internationally, establishing the band's genre-pushing originality. Written over two years, ‘As Blue As Indigo' champions introspections drawing on the subjectivity of colour, paired with masterclass songwriting, mind-bending arrangements constructed with boundary-pushing production. https://open.spotify.com/artist/6ekYAO2D1JkI58CF4uRRqw https://music.apple.com/gb/artist/tigercub/658911023 https://tigercubtigercub.bandcamp.com/music https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIq8QZNx4Ge6rbBejiSwQBw https://tigercubtigercub.us7.list-manage.com/subscribe?id=d9fefe5a42&u=5adb5e49f2c09c28ec6402fa3 Clutch CLUTCH shares more in common with The Grateful Dead, Rush, and the Allman Brothers than their heavy riffs and heady twists-of-phrase might suggest. Because like those bands, the supporters who adore CLUTCH are there for the experience, community, and authentic connection. To love CLUTCH is to feel a sense of ownership, membership, and belonging. A worldwide cabal of fans and critics cherish the band's dense and diverse catalog of underground classics, released through major labels, indies, and since 2009, Clutch's own Weathermaker imprint. Sunrise On Slaughter Beach, the band's thirteenth studio album, is a slamming summary of everything that makes the band great and another giant leap forward into career longevity. New bangers like “Red Alert (Boss Metal Zone),” “Nosferatu Madre,” “Skeletons on Mars,” “Jackhammer Our Names,” and “Mercy Brown” take their rightful place alongside the classics. Sunrise On Slaughter Beach is the natural culmination of what Clutch began as teenagers in the early ‘90s. Sunrise On Slaughter Beach introduces some “firsts” into the Clutch canon: vibraphone (from Gaster), theremin (J. Robbins), and female backup vocals from singers Deborah Bond and Frenchie Davis. The album's nine songs are a diverse ride, destined to please longtime fans and intrigue newcomers alike. In 'Part Two' of this week's @EchoChamberFP we check out a new crazy indie flick, giving a glimpse of a tech equipped future. Then we speak to the star of the piece, Russell Steinberg. Which you can watch HERE: https://youtu.be/IqjgTM88w6Q 'Laguna Ave' manifests out of the minds of director David Buchanan and writer Paul Papadeas. It follows Russell (Russell Steinberg), a burned-out television editor and middle-aged slacker with a prosthetic hand, who's futilely searching for work in Hollywood's brutal, exploitative underbelly. His former boss owes him money, his partner Rita (Stephanie Brait) is always out of town and inaccessible, and his new downstairs neighbour, Gary (James Markham Hall Jr) keeps him awake at night with mysterious, disturbing noises. But everything changes one evening when Gary pays Russell a visit introducing him to a sinister world of an accelerationist conspiracy. It's hard to know where to start in writing a blurb for episode 5, but as a theme that may be true to many men, our interview with Jamie Hall gave us the impression that: He can comfortably experience empathy for others far more easily than he can for himself, and he's worked out that it hasn't served him well. That's not to say that he can't act in a fashion that is hard to separate from 'selfishness', but that there feels like there is a causal connection. Lessons learnt from working in domestic violence. Losing a father figure to a messy death. A one-night stand, turning into an unplanned pregnancy, turning into a family of 6. An embarrassing gambling addiction. Mental health in the workplace. The dark side of social media. Online support communities. We cover a lot, and it's some sort of a ride. Enjoy.
