Corey Baker is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and Ableton Certified Trainer. Corey made a huge impact on the electronic music scene and toured the world as Kill Paris. He shares his workflow and techniques in his tutorials and courses, and hosts a weekly sample flip challenge. I spoke with Corey about his music, educational community, and production techniques. We discussed some of the newer features in Ableton Live 12.1, as well as the process of learning complex software to create music. Corey shared how being discovered by Skrillex on SoundCloud changed the course of his career. This episode is sponsored by Baby Audio, makers of incredible music software. Use the code MPP15 to save 15%! https://babyaud.io  Listen on Apple, Spotify, YouTube Takeaways: The early days of using Ableton Live involved a supportive community and tutorials helped in the learning process. Transitioning from hardware to digital plugins allowed for more flexibility and experimentation in music production. The MIDI tools and scale awareness in Ableton Live 12 provide a user-friendly way to explore music theory and create musical compositions. Balancing technical knowledge with creative exploration is important in music production Breaking the rules and trying new things can lead to unique and interesting results. The standalone version of Ableton Push has improved workflow and allows for a more immersive and enjoyable music-making experience. Reacting and responding to what you are creating in the moment is important for staying in a creative flow. Simplifying your setup and focusing on using default Ableton devices can help avoid getting caught up in technical details and allow for a more fluid creative process. Challenging oneself and embracing the struggle in the creative process leads to a deeper sense of satisfaction and connection with the music. The energy and process put into creating music can be felt by the listener, even if it's not consciously recognized. Bringing energy and enthusiasm to live performances is crucial for creating a great show and engaging the audience. Creating a comfortable and engaging atmosphere can help build a connection between the performer and the audience. Playing for smaller venues allows for more eye contact and a sense of community, while larger crowds can create a domino effect of energy. How platforms like SoundCloud and YouTube have played a significant role in the success of many musicians, providing opportunities for exposure and collaboration. Gamification and metrics in music production can provide valuable feedback and motivation for producers. Where Would I Be" puts into words what Bruce feels God has by His providence, spoken to his spirit. This song had the right approach that agrees with the tenor and atmosphere of what he has gone through over the years. Bruce takes these heart touching words, puts his smooth jazz progressions under them which turns this song into an ear soothing, thought moving melody of provocation and inspiration. Already a beautiful song written by the hands of Smokie Norful, Bruce features the vocal prowess of Kristian Thomas, the daughter of Bishop Leofric & Lady Thomas. Kristian's voice invites you into God's throne room and reminds you God has "better" on His mind for you no matter what you've done or who you are! And look out for the piano interlude, it's just enough to float you through to glory! sure "Where Would I Be" will quickly become one of your favorites!

 My guest this week is producer, musician and remixer Danny Saber. Danny's worked with musical legends like David Bowie, Sheryl Crow, Marilyn Manson, U2, The Rolling Stones, Public Enemy, Willie Nelson, Ozzy Osbourne, Alice Cooper, and Madonna, among many others. He's also contributed to television commercials for McDonald's, Taco Bell and Coors, and soundtracks for films such as “Blade II,” and “Moulin Rouge!.” Most recently Danny's been busy working on some recently discovered songs by the late INXS frontman Michael Hutchence, as well as a documentary on the singer's life. During the interview we spoke about his early band days around Hollywood, getting into remixing, producing the Rolling Stones, why producing a film is way different from composing, hanging with football legend Jim Brown, and much more. I spoke with Danny via Zoom from his studio in Los Angeles. var podscribeEmbedVars = { epId: 106695817, backgroundColor: 'white', font: undefined, fontColor: undefined, speakerFontColor: undefined, height: '600px', showEditButton: false, showSpeakers: true, showTimestamps: true };

It's been 60 years since the release of The Beatles' A Hard Day's Night movie and the ensuing soundtrack. It was released in the summer of 1964 and was a huge hit. Of course, the music was also a huge hit. In fact, the movie had made a profit even before it was released because United Artists (the producers of the movie and, importantly, holders of the soundtrack rights) had advance orders of over 2-million in the U.S. alone for the soundtrack album.In that spirit, I'm re-releasing an episode from January of 2021 that I did with musician and producer Tim Bovaconti. Tim's a great guy and a very much in demand player on the Canadian music scene. His love of The Beatles and their music shines through in his words. Enjoy.

Jamie Hall is a musician, producer and main man behind the British band Tigercub.   Perfume of Decay, their debut on Pearl Jam legend Stone Gossard's Loosegroove records, their third record of nocturnal, hard-hitting rock, frontman Jamie Hall draws the curtains shut and embraces a moody, melancholic sound that's every bit as cinematic as Hollywood itself.   It's an album about counterpoint and opposites, stacked with songs that contrast overdriven guitars with whispered vocals, tight grooves with shoegazing swells of noise, sonic experimentation with sharp songwriting. For a band that's always trafficked in drama and dynamics, The Perfume of Decay marks Tigercub's strongest release to date.

As you will have heard many times on this podcast series so far, Paul Weller has a long tradition of supporting up and coming music artists. Welsh neo soul artist Nia Wyn is another huge talent to get his stamp of approval and it was a real joy to hear her story on this episode of the Paul Weller Fan Podcast.Her music takes influence from Soul, RnB, Jazz, Pop and Hip-Hop to create something new, something that is uniquely hers. Trust me when I say that her incredible, unmistakable vocals will blow you away with each release and live performance....In our podcast chat, we dig into the recent past to hear about her connections with Paul Weller from a WhatsApp intro that leads to Paul picking Nia up from Woking station for a songwriting and recording session at Black Barn Studio (Paul Weller HQ) and the creation of her beautiful soulful song “Turnstyles”.Released as a single in June 2018, Paul plays bass, hammond organ and piano and sings backing vocals on the song.We also chatted about live performance and as you'll hear on the podcast, Nia opened for Paul at his concert in York in August 2018, along with supporting him on dates for the rescheduled-rescheduled On Sunset / Fat Pop tour in 2021.2022 saw her release more new music with her Magical Thinking EP and she also reached the finals of Glastonbury Festival's Emerging Talent competition. That Summer saw her go on to play the Somerset festival along with Latitude and she supported Paul Weller again at Lytham Festival... Not a bad year right?Nia is another artist, to be endorsed by Paul, whose songs take you on a journey.A raw and powerful style of storytelling that at times can be observational - stories about others, in the third person or more often it would seem that she is singing something deeply personal, open, honest and introspective. Not afraid to wear her heart on her sleeve to tackle topics that may appear to be taboo (her own mental health challenges as example) in an age where those areas of discussion really shouldn't be.She has an incredible knack of making you think with her music whilst also having that all important gift of melody. Every release so far has been pretty special and builds on what has come before and I'm genuinely excited by what is to come in the future. Hosted on Acast. His work on either side of the sound booth has won an armful of Dallas Observer music awards and proven that some musicians actually do get better with age.Our conversation today will focus on British singer/songwriter Stephen Duffy and his second solo offering from 1995 titled “Duffy” which was originally released on Indolent Records. Born and raised in Rahway, New Jersey, Pisapia migrated to Nashville in the mid-1990s with his brother, the drummer Marc Pisapia, as the namesake members of Joe, Marc's Brother. Following its Rick Clark- produced self-titled debut, the band quickly became progenitors of a burgeoning indie pop and rock scene that included artists such as Josh Rouse, David Mead and Lambchop. In 2000, the release of the Robin Eaton, Roger Moutenot and Brad Jones-produced Around the Year with Joe, Marc's Brother cemented the band's reputation as masters of the pop-rock genre. While Joe, Marc's Brother as a unit now performs infrequently, Pisapia continues to record and perform as a solo artist.As a singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist best known for his work as a member of Guster and k.d. lang and the Siss Boom Bang. He co- produced and co-wrote Guster's 2006 release, Ganging Up On the Sun, an album that cracked Billboard's Top 25 and was one of the best selling internet albums of the year.  He did the same on the band's 2010 Easy Wonderful. He produced and penned the title track for Lang's 2011 album, Sing It Loud, and acted as music director for the accompanying tour.As a producer and mixer, he's worked on some of the finest indie rock and pop and Americana records to come out of Nashville in the last few years. Among his credits are: Ben Folds Five's The Sound Of The Life Of The Mind, The Hush Kids (Self Titled,) Zac Clark (Self Titled,) Drew Holcolmb And The Neighbors' Medicine and Souvenir, Chuck Mead's Free State Serenade, Josh Rouse's Love In The Modern Age, Courtney Jaye's The Exotic Sounds Of Courtney Jaye, Matt Wertz's While We're Becoming, William Tyler's Lost Colony E.P. and Paper Hats, The Silver Seas' Alaska and ThePierces' self-titled album.  When the Grammy Award-winning band Fun. needed orchestral recording for its Grammy performance, they called on Pisapia.In 2016 Pisapia collaborated with singer/ songwriter Kate York for the duet E.P. “Kate York And Joe Pisapia.” The song “All My Worry” was featured in the 2016 “Magnolia Mix Tape” vinyl release. 2018 was a watershed year for Pisapia as he released two full length solo albums. https://www.joepisapia.net/https://www.facebook.com/JoePisapiaMusic/https://www.instagram.com/joepisapia/?hl=enhttps://joepisapia.bandcamp.com/Host - Trey Mitchelltreymitchellphotography IGfeeding_the_senses_unsensored on IGtrey mitchell: facebook.com/profile.php?id=100074368084848For Sponsorship Information or Questions -  ftsunashville@gmail.comTheme Song - Damien HorneTake It From Me @damienhorne
