A singer/songwriter who plays guitar and ukulele, she has appeared on “America’s Got Talent,” gotten gear endorsements, and even had one of her original songs used in a TV commercial. She has performed everywhere from the Winter NAMM Show in Anaheim this past January to the prestigious 30A Songwriters Festival in the Florida panhandle, to a San Francisco 49ers game, and even in our nation’s capital. Tough Girl - Pip Hare - Professional ocean racing sailor who was part of the all female team who won the 3 Peaks Yacht Race in 2016 Pip Hare is a professional ocean racing sailor, with a wealth of experience over the past 16 years in the marine industry, clocking up over 120,000 miles across the worlds’ oceans, including the Pacific, the Atlantic and as far south as Patagonia. With steely determination and a high ambition, Pip achieved has taken part in a major short handed Ocean Racing campaign every year since her first OSTAR in 2009. Since this first race Pip has become the Only British Sailor to every finish the coveted international mini transat race twice as well as winning the 2010 Two Handed Round Britain and Ireland Race overall with co-skipper Phil Stubbs. Her bio is filled with an array of cool projects, most recently as the dialect coach on the Tony Award-winning musical KINKY BOOTS, and as an actor in Exit, Pursued by a Bear's DANI GIRL. Ms. Jackson is a 2013 IRNE and Elliot Norton nominee for her role as "Female Soloist" in Speakeasy Stage Company's production of BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON, has collaborated with such respected theatre companies as The Flea, The Pearl, Prospect Theater, The Cell, and is the dialect coach on the new Maltby & Shire musical BEHIND THE PAINTING. This week: Duncan talks to Chris Johanson and Jo Jackson from Ox-Bow this summer! Johanson was born in suburban San Jose, California in 1968. He has no formal training in art, learning some technique by painting skateboards and houses. He moved to San Francisco, California's Mission District in 1989, where he became a member of the local art community, initially drawing cartoons on lampposts and bathroom walls using black Sharpies. In 2004 he bought a home and moved to Portland, Oregon.." with his wife, artist Jo Jackson. Johanson achieved international fame after participating in 2002 Whitney Biennial exhibition. The next year he was one of winners of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art's SECA Art Award.

Duncan and Richard talk to Tracy Marie Taylor, artist and curator who curated the new show Bilingual, Art at the Intersection of Painting and Video. Bilingual focuses on artwork at the intersection of painting and drawing, film and video, encompassing both conceptual and process-driven approaches. The artists in this exhibition are acting as visual linguists or interpreters, breaking down one language and reconstructing it in another, holding the sense of the structure together with an understanding of both. Bilingual will feature works by Shira Avni, Kylie Baker, Wafaa Bilal, Jeremy Blake, Eddy De Vos, Terence Hannum, Jay Heikes, John Hiltabidel & John Grant, Jo Jackson, William Kentridge, Patte Loper, Joshua Mosley, Sabina Ott, David Reed, Peter Rostovsky, Alison Ruttan, Jason Salavon, Marcelino Stuhmer, Fraser Taylor, Jim Trainor, and Scott Wolniak.
