Η πρώτη διαβολοβδομάδα του 2023 είναι προ των πυλών και μαζί της η έναρξη του δεύτερου γύρου της regular season στην EuroLeague. Ο Γιάννης Μασοκώστας aka Fantasy Sports Greek έρχεται από την πρώτη 200άρα στη σεζόν που τον ανέβασε στο Top 150 και σκοπεύει να συνεχίσει την ανοδική πορεία του. Ο τραυματισμός του Keenan Evans αλλάζει τις ισορροπίες στους γκαρντ, καθώς όλοι θα ψαχτούν για αντικαταστάτη. Μεγάλο ερωτηματικό αποτελεί τι θα γίνει με τον Petrusev, ο οποίος έρχεται από συνεχόμενα καλά σκορ, όμως θα βρει απέναντί του την frontline της Ρεάλ Μαδρίτης, την ώρα που ο Παναθηναϊκός συνεχίσει να δίνει μεγάλα σκορ στους αντίπαλους ψηλούς. Σε αυτό το επεισόδιο, επικαιροποιείται η λίστα σκάουτινγκ, προκρίνονται οι καλύτερες επιλογές αρχηγών και προπονητών για τη διαβολοβδομάδα, ενώ δίνεται απάντηση και στις εξής ερωτήσεις: - Ποιοι είναι οι καλύτεροι αντικαταστάτες του K. Evans; - Rivero-Motley ή Koumadje-Lessort; - Φέρνουμε τον Vezenkov ή συνεχίζουμε να περιμένουμε; - Κρατάμε ή διώχνουμε τον Petrusev; - Ποντάρουμε στον Motley απέναντι στον Παναθηναϊκό; - Μπορεί ο Κ. Αντετοκούνμπο να αποτελέσει φθηνότερη εναλλακτική του Motley; - Διατηρούμε την εμπιστοσύνη μας στον Bacon; - Ποιοι είναι οι καλύτεροι forwards στα 7-12 cr; - Διατηρούμε τον Σλούκα απέναντι στη Μονακό;

As summer has officially started this week, we start off by discussing our favorite flavors of ice cream. We put a bow on the 2018 baseball season. The Red Raiders finished their season in Omaha with a record of 45-20. In my book, any baseball season that ends in Omaha is a good one. There is nothing to be disappointed about with how this season turned out and we have nothing but high expectations of this team moving forward. We also discuss the NBA Draft as Texas Tech had their first ever one and done player in Zhaire Smith. Keenan Evans and Zach Smith also landed on NBA summer teams. The 2018 football season predictions and projections season starts off with Bill Connelly's not-so-rosy outlook for the Red Raiders.
Is drinking unsweet tea the most unTexan thing you can do? Or is it liking Pepsi? What about NOT hating on New Mexico? Unfortnately, the basketball season ended with the Red Raiders being elimated in the Elite Eight matchup versus Villanova. Both Spencer and Michael think Nova is the best team left and will likely win the national championship. Keenan Evans reveals he actually broke his toe in the game against Baylor and was playing through the pain. Is Keenan Evans the best basketball player of all-time for Texas Tech? The answer is more difficult than you would think. The football team had an open practice/scrimmage in Midland this past Saturday, but the news didn't end there. Four players were arrested Sunday morning after an incident at Bash Riprocks. The players are still on the team but have been suspended indeifnitely. This certainly makes the battle for the starting QB position interesting, especially the longer the suspension is to last. The baseball team had a bounce back weekend as they hosted Northeastern and swept them in four games. The offense scored nearly 60 runs on the #8 RPI team. Conference play resumes this weekend in Lubbock as West Virginia comes to town. By the end of the weekend, the baseball season will be halfway over. We have a couple of listener questions, like whether we would put chips on sandwiches and if we're team breakfast burrito or team breakfast taco.
Chris Beard defeats Purdue...AGAIN. Beard was the coach at Arkansas-Little Rock when they knocked out the Boilermakers in a 12-over-5 upset. Texas Tech advances to the Elite Eight for the first time in school history. Tech takes down Purdue 78-65 in pretty convincing fashion. Tech got to a 5-point halftime lead and never let up. The Red Raiders closed the first half on a 10-0 run and kept the pressure on Purdue the entire second half. Justin Gray was HUGE in this game, scoring 12 points and grabbing 7 boards. Keenan Evans played a solid game, scored a little under his season average but 3 other Red Raiders scored in double figures around him. Such an impressive win all the way around. These guys are making history, getting hot and riding momentum in the right direction at the right time. Texas Tech is set to take on Villanova on Sunday at 1:20 p.m. for a shot to advance to the Final Four in San Antonio.
A new barbecue place opened recently in the 806 and we grabbed lunch there to give it a try. Green chiles were everywhere, meat was decent. Our verdict was that it was OK but there are some other pretty fine joints in town to get the 'cue. There was also some discussion on what needs sauce and what doesn't and who makes the best sauces (Whataburger, obviously). Texas Tech opened the NCAA tournament with wins over Stephen F Austin and Florida. Both games saw exciting plays from guards Keenan Evans and Zhaire Smith (who might be leaving after this season). Smith flying through the air for 360 dunks and alley oops are just things of beauty. Tech is getting ready to face Purdue in Boston in the Sweet Sixteen. The Boilermakers may be without their senior big man, Isaac Haas. He broke his elbow in the first round against CSU Fullerton and nearly gave it a go in the round of 32 game. His brace was disallowed by the NCAA and it's unlikely he will play again this season. Good news for Purdue is they have another big man backing up Haas, Matt Haarms. The baseball team wrapped up a vicious road trip in Waco to open Big 12 play and dropped the series to the Bears. The Red Raiders went 3-5 over the 8-game trip and look to bounce back against Northeastern this weekend. Spring football is still chugging along with an interesting battle at quarterback. Jett Duffey needs more reps and McLane Carter needs to cut down on his turnovers. Inside receiver and defensive back has great depth, but lots of unknown guys filling out the roster there. Defensive tackle is as deep as it's ever been. We're really looking forward to getting to watch a spring practice in person. Finally, we learned this week that Spencer is not much for camping for too long and that the OU band will play Boomer Sooner if it's the last thing they ever do.
Texas Tech head coach Chris Beard and seniors Zach Smith, Justin Gray and Keenan Evans share their thoughts about earning a No. 3 seed and facing off against No. 14 seed Stephen F. Austin on Thursday in Dallas.
A sobering thought now compared with just a few weeks ago, that despite being 1st in the Big 12 at one point, a possible #2 seed in the NCAA tournament and Texas Tech's first conference title in basketball since joining the Big 12 just within reach, Texas Tech finds themselves limping towards the finish line uncertain of how things will play out in the post-season. A projected #4 seed is nice, but makes the road to that much more difficult and the hopes that Keenan Evans will be 100% in just a few weeks time is hopeful at best. The return of Zach Smith helps, but he too is not 100%. And as good as this team is with Jarrett Culver and Zhaire Smith, Tech looks out of sorts without their senior leaders on the court. Rough week for Texas Tech as they lose both to Baylor and Oklahoma State, lose ground in their quest for their first Big 12 title and lose Keenan Evans to a foot injury. And while Evans is trying to play through it, his effectiveness has been greatly diminished. Needing to win out to get at least a share of the Big 12 title, Texas Tech welcomes Kansas to Lubbock on Saturday and host College Gameday for the first time ever (for basketball). In baseball, the Red Raiders have cruised to a 5-0 record and are the last remaining undefeated team in the conference. With a weekend series with UTSA next up, Texas Tech deals with the reality of losing their ace, Steven Gingery, for the season. Who will Tadlock use in Gingery’s rotation spot and does Tech still have it’s eyes on a College World Series birth? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Fun episode today. Rob Dauster was joined by one of the up-and-coming stars at ESPN, Dalen Cuff, to talk through the changes that Duke and Kentucky have made in recent weeks and whether or not that changes our perception of those teams moving forward. They also discussed Trae Young's regression as well as the root of their soccer fandom, and all of that happened roughly 90 minutes before news broke that Missouri's Michael Porter Jr. was cleared by doctors to play while Arizona's Allonzo Trier was once against ineligible for a positive PED test, so Travis Hines of NBC Sports jumped on the podcast to talk through all of that. The rundown:OPEN: Should Michael Porter Jr. play this season?10:05: Did Allonzo Trier get screwed by the NCAA?16:55: Why did Dalen Cuff sully his name by becoming an Arsenal fan?26:20: Why has Duke been better without Marvin Bagley III?34:05: Is Jarred Vanderbilt the key to unlock Kentucky's potential?39:25: Have you changed your outlook on Duke or Kentucky in the long-term?43:45: Texas Tech losing Keenan Evans was a bummer.48:00: So let's talk about this Trae Young slump.
It's a crazy time to be a Red Raider. Texas Tech is ranked #7 in the country and is in 1st place in the Big 12 standings a full week into February. With a deep postseason run in sight, we discuss Tech's chances of winning the Big 12 outright, where they fit in the latest bracketology and what is the draft potential for Keenan Evans and Zach Smith. Great episode today. Rob Dauster was joined by Tom Crean, the Tony Romo of college basketball broadcasting. Crean dishes on what he's doing now that he's out of coaching for the first time in 30 years, how he was able to predict the play that Oklahoma ran against Kansas and who he's been stealing plays from while he's been working in TV. Rob also broke down what's wrong with West Virginia, what makes Auburn interesting and a little insight into why Northwestern is the nation's most disappointing team. The rundown is below:OPEN: Tom Crean joins the show.25:30: What’s wrong with West Virginia?38:40: Keenan Evans and where he ranks in the Big 12 point guard hierarchy.44:05: Let’s talk about Auburn and Bruce Pearl.53:00: Bryant McIntosh’s comments about what happened at Northwestern.56:00: Gonzaga banning Mormon-mocking costumes.59:50: Let’s make some picks.
