God volgen betekent de “smalle weg” bewandelen. Het betekent geconfronteerd worden met tegenspoed. Hier volgen een aantal punten die ik heb geleerd en die mij helpen om door te blijven gaan: 1. Gods Woord is een kader voor mijn leven. Zolang ik binnen de richtlijnen blijf die in de Bijbel staan beschreven, zal ik wijsheid en kennis hebben om te weten wat ik moet doen en wat ik in Christus nodig heb om het te doen. God is betrouwbaar en Zijn Woord is waar. 2. Ik moet bereid zijn om hetgeen wat ik start ook te volbrengen. God gebruikt toegewijde mensen die niet geleid worden door emoties. Het is makkelijk om aan het begin, wanneer iets nog nieuw is, opgetogen te zijn, maar diegene die over de finish-lijn gaan, zijn degenen die vol blijven houden wanneer niemand meer opgetogen is. 3. Als er niemand is om mij te helpen, dan leer ik Jezus heel goed kennen. De smalle weg om voor God te leven en niet volgens de wegen van de wereld, is dikwijls eenzaam. Maar wat je terugkrijgt is intimiteit met Christus en dat is zoveel meer waard dan alles wat je ooit op deze wereld kunt krijgen. Ik geloof dat deze waarheden je kunnen helpen, net zoals ze mij hebben geholpen. Onthoud altijd: ook al zal er tegenstand zijn, de beloning voor het bewandelen van de smalle weg is het meer dan waard.

I recently spoke at my first conference and learned some valuable lessons my first time professionally taking the stage.The most remarkable part of the experience was how similar the skillset I use to speak on camera was to the skillset I used to speak on a stage. Key skills like preparation, body language, and energy are all components that work virtually the same on stage as they do on  video. I am simultaneously reading Atomic Habits, where James Clear breaks down how every action we take inside of a habit feeds the information of how we identify ourselves. For example, every time you go to stretch and go on a run, those actions feed into your identity as a runner.What I didn't realize until very recently, was the power behind the consistency of creating content weekly, like this Podcast. For a full year I have cultivated the habit of confidently speaking in each podcast episode. Every time I did this, I subconsciously fed into the idea that I am a confident speaker.This new identity as a confident speaker followed me onto the stage and into the networking event that followed.The purpose of me sharing this revelation is to emphasize the fact that you do not need to wait until you are in the room to begin the skill that is Speaking Confidently.
