machine_logic on the Rooftop Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions 3/23/24 machine_logic, curator of deep, hypnotic, progressive dance grooves with a delicate, ethereal chemistry. Always digging deep, his emotive selections tell a story. With every set, he shares more and more tiny pieces of himself. Having grown up with an eclectic collection, it took him a great while to come around to the sound he's carved out for himself. He cut his teeth in 1999 at KGRG-Auburn, at Green River Community College, where was music director. He hosted their industrial radio program, KGRG's Propaganda Department. From there came a spattering of club gigs that turned into some local residencies, more club gigs, and then his selection became more and more eclectic, yet more refined. Traipsing through a variety of styles, he finally landed with a massive collection of the emotive and uplifting side of techno, house and breaks (quite the 180 from his years in the industrial scene, for sure). While the music he plays is happy, soulful and playful, he is never afraid to show those dark roots, especially when the dancefloor heats up. He has played all over the Pacific Northwest and up and down the West coast. He loves playing nightclubs, patios, outdoors, and festivals having shared the stage with a wide swath of underground artists. He is always looking to express himself musically. For him, it's all about the feeling, the hypnotic groove, taking those present on a profound and sentimental journey. "Jon Shearer has left the building" - that note was posted recently on the KGRG Alumni page signaling that the unofficial Godfather of the station had unexpectedly passed away. KGRG is Green River Community College's station about 20 miles outside Seattle and has been the start of more bands than I can remember and home to many music biz veterans. Today alumni gather to deep dive on the history, memories, and what we got from that magical broadcast trailer.

We’re recording from the studios of 89.9 KGRG-FM this week with guest co-host KILLING SPREE and we’re talking about Solo: A Star Wars Story! Welp. What we thought would be our shortest Star Wars podcast, ended up being our longest - so thorough and tangent filled, that we had to split it into two episodes. Not only do we discuss the plot, but we also get into what we think is wrong with the Disney era of Star Wars. Listen to part one here: https://soundcloud.com/mikeseibertradio/episode-160-solo-review-part-1-with-killing-spree Part two picks up approximately half way through the plot of the movie. We wrap up our discussion about the plot and then speculate about WHY Solo is under-performing at the box office. We also discuss what we'd like to see in future Star Wars stories, including the recently announced Boba Fett movie.
