May humatol ba isa iyo?” Amen.

Dawn is the Founder of Securing Everything, a cybersecurity company, and she is on a mission to help families stay safe online by transforming concerned parents into Online Safety Ninja's. With over 20 years of information and cyber security experience, Dawn works with parents to teach them how to protect their families from hidden online dangers. She is an international speaker, author, and educator who combines her education and her personal lived experiences to make her an authority on the subject. Dawn teaches concerned parents who have tech savvy kids, to understand that while their kids may be technology experts, they are not security experts. Therefore, Dawn supports parents and advocates for more parental oversight when it comes to their child' safety in the virtual world. Today we discussed her involvement in the BTK case and how he operated in getting his victims, "I was trolling my next victim," per BTK. Dawn discussed how people must be situationally aware of their surroundings and habits. However, everyone wants to live in a world of convenience with their noses in their phones. Everyone should be vigilant in their surroundings and "trust your gut," Dawn recommends. Dawn also talked about how parents should address cyber security with their children who are well versed on technology and be aware of predators their children may not know exist. Parents need to know how to talk to their children about these trolls and to protect their families. To Reach Dawn McCarty: http://www.securingeverything.com/http://www.dawnsyoutube.com/http://stopbullying.go Could you please sign and share the petition: https://www.change.org/p/remove-judge-elizabeth-kelly-from-the-bench-permanentlyThis episode of Slam the Gavel is sponsored by CPSprotect Consulting Services. On this episode of Connected Nation, we discuss what resources families can access to combat the harmful effects of social media on the mental health of America's youth. It's a problem that's grown so large and so serious that the US Surgeon General recently issued a call for urgent action to policymakers, technology companies, researchers, families, and others to protect teenagers and children online. We'll talk to two companies that are answering that call AND learn how they're working together to deliver access to critical technology in small towns.Related links:Surgeon General advisory on social mediaAbout Calix - https://www.calix.com/About Tombigbee Fiber - https://www.tombigbeefiber.com/Press release - https://www.calix.com/press-release/2023/august/tombigbee-fiber-prioritizes-protecting-children-from-social-media-dangers-launching-bark.htmlPress release - https://www.calix.com/press-release/2023/september/tombigbee-fiber-connects-9-school-football-fields-with-calix-smarttown.html

Molly talks with author Hilde Lysiak about her book, "Hilde on the Record". Order "Hilde on the Record" from an independent bookseller at this link: https://bookshop.org/a/10588/9781641605816 or at Amazon right here https://amzn.to/3DWzm45 ABOUT HILDE ON THE RECORD When seven-year-old Hilde Lysiak found out her new town didn't have a paper, she grabbed a notepad and began to work. Hilde Lysiak spent her early childhood in New York City with a passion for journalism. When her family moved to Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, Hilde didn't complain. Instead, she started reporting. Hilde began by reporting on the birth of her sister, the newest resident on Orange Street, then began expanding her coverage to the entire city. She interviewed hundreds of locals in her effort to deliver “All the News Fit for Orange Street”: a seed exchange at the local library, a fundraiser for a hospital's neonatal unit, a fire at a church, and a mysterious vandal destroying landscaping on city property. Everything changed when Hilde received a tip that a terrible crime had happened just blocks from her house. By using the tools she had learned on the beat, the enterprising young reporter was able to confirm the facts and get the important information out to the public several hours before the other local media. Hilde was proud of her work, but not everyone in her small town felt that way. Cyberbullies targeted her, zeroing in on her age and gender. Hilde considered ignoring them but decided she had to stand up to the haters to protect the reputation she had worked so hard to earn. Her response went viral, and nearly every major news organization took notice. Hilde hasn't let anything stand in her way since. ABOUT HILDE KATE LYSIAK Hilde Kate Lysiak is the reporter and publisher of the Orange Street News. Since starting her paper at the age of seven Hilde has written and published hundreds of stories in her hometown of Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. Hilde has been recognized for her work in the New York Times, NBC Today Show, GMA, The Washington Post, and thousands of other media across the world.

My guest describes the variety of techniques cyberbullies use to taunt, threaten, humiliate, and deprecate their target. The primary goal for parents is to become familiar with the strategies children use to mistreat other children. Many of these tactics are also made use of by adult online users engaged in cyber harassment, cyberstalking, and predatory trolling. As humanity increasingly becomes dependent upon mobile device technology, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence; the range and complexity of cyber-attacks will assuredly grow.cyberbullying consists of information exchanged via ICT and may never involve face-to-face encounters. https://ipredator.cohttp://www.yourlotandparcel.org
Studies show that more than one out of every five students will be bullied this year. Chances are this is happening to someone you know and care about. With October being National Bullying Prevention Month, today's guest is a reminder that everyone's actions matter and we all have a role to play in bullying prevention. Tina Meier's life changed on October 16, 2006 when her 13-year-old daughter Megan took her own life following a cruel cyberbullying hoax. On a mission to support and inspire actions to end bullying, cyberbullying and suicide since Megan's death, Tina founded Megan Meier Foundation. By empowering our society to celebrate individuality and the acceptance of others, Tina believes we can work together to make a difference and create a safer and kinder world. Today, Tina shares how she took her vengeance and turned it into a purposeful mission that's making an impact.

Let's be honest--social media has swallowed our souls. Considering that, it's no surprise that it has invaded our movies, too! We talk films hinging on the advent of social media with this pairing, starting with the profitable horror flick UNFRIENDED (2014)! A group of friends on a Skype call get harassed by a stranger on the anniversary of their friend's suicide, and before you can say "Cyberbully!," things get spoopy! It's "Time To Log Off!" on this week's episode of CULT and CLASSIC Podcast! Listen wherever you get your podcasts and at https://cultandclassicpodcast.com/! Next Week: "THE INFLUENCER" (2021) Host: Nate Wyckoff Panelists: Tad Mastroianni, Jeff Tucker & Mandy Longley
This time we take your through 2020's classic Deadly Cyber Bully (or Murder in the Vineyard).Neither of which happen in the film. There is however an incompetent cop, incredibly old teenagers and very young mothers. Add to that mix, Non Union AC Slater, Jean-Ralphio and Andrew Lincoln and you have a recipe for a mess. You can learn all about a boy dressed as grapes, Joes cat adventure and how big a hectre is.And our new favourite guest reviewer, all hail The Christmas Bumburger
Ryan and Sarah are back for another week, and they're out for redemption. Just a few more bad fantasy weeks away from no longer being qualified to host a fantasy MLS podcast, they keep the conversation surprisingly on topic (until the end). Find out who has been #cancelled from Sarah's team for good, hear Ryan flex his vocabulary chops (stochastic??? *eye roll*), and hey, just what are the Panabaker sisters up to these days? If you would like to audition for the undesignated players remake of hit movie Cyberbully, rate and review us on Apple Podcasts! Also, Ryan wants more twitter followers so do that here: @undesignatedmls (and @undesignatedplayers on instagram) Thanks for listening! Sorry about that weird whirring sound that randomly happens sometimes (no, not Sarah talking), we're trying to figure that out
