CleanTech Lithium has completed the first stage of production from its DLE pilot plant, along with successful downstream process test work. Kesler highlights the comprehensive results that demonstrate the efficiency and consistency of the DLE process on its brine at Laguna Verde. "We've shown that we're getting 95% recovery of lithium from the brine in the adsorption stage of the DLE and an overall recovery of 88% after the elution stage," said Kesler. This efficiency significantly outperforms conventional evaporation ponds, which have recovery rates of 40-45%. The DLE process also exhibits excellent selectivity, rejecting over 99% of major impurities such as calcium, magnesium, sodium, and potassium. This ensures a clean, concentrated eluate of lithium chloride, which is then shipped for downstream processing in Chicago. Initial tests confirm that the process can produce battery-grade lithium carbonate with a purity of 99.5%. Kesler emphasised the importance of this milestone, as it allows CleanTech Lithium to introduce sustainable, green lithium to potential off-takers and strategic investors. The company's lithium production uses renewable energy, resulting in a low carbon footprint and minimal water consumption, aligning with the sustainability goals of Europe and the United States. The government aims to increase lithium production rapidly, with plans to have three or four new projects operational by 2026. Good morning from London, where weaker-than-expected economic data in China hit investor sentiment overnight, sending the FTSE 100 lower at the open. But its rallied since and is very much back to square one at the beginning of a brand new week. A relatively slow start in terms of announcements – some news from property website Rightmove that UK house prices fell by 0.2% over the past month. Buying interest is suffering from recent increases in the cost of taking out mortgages. In equities, Ladbrokes owner Entain announced its completed the acquisition of UK-based analytics firm Angstrom Sports for £122mln. DFS Furniture says it achieved a record market share of 38% last year as it laid out its plans for growing its profit over the coming 12 months. In the US, Elon Musk revealed that Twitter's revenues have fallen by half since he bought the social media in October, but pointed to a “promising” performance in July. And with the small caps, CleanTech Lithium shares jumped as the miner upgraded its Laguna Verde project's JORC resources estimate to 1.8mln tonnes. Detectives de la Brigada Investigadora de Robos Valparaíso detuvieron a un sujeto por el delito flagrante de receptación y recuperaron un vehículo que había sido sustraído desde un servicentro ubicado en recta las Salinas el pasado 14 de agosto. En la ocasión un grupo de sujetos premunidos con armas de fuego intimidaron y golpearon a los ocupantes del automóvil, para luego huir en el móvil de las víctimas, de acuerdo a lo manifestado por el jefe de la Biro Valparaíso, subprefecto Claudio Flores. En un trabajo conjunto con el Ministerio Público, los detectives ubicaron el vehículo denunciado en el sector de Laguna Verde, el cual se encontraba clonado con placas patentes y documentación falsificada, por lo que se detuvo en flagrancia a un sujeto de 28 años. El imputado fue puesto a disposición de Tribunales por los delitos de receptación, uso de placas patente falsas y falsificación de documento privado, mientras el automóvil recuperado avaluado en 18 millones de pesos, será devuelto a su propietario. El siniestro se produjo el día sábado recién pasado y sólo gracias al oportuno accionar de los cuidadores del recinto y la presencia de Bomberos evitó que ningún animalito resultara con heridas ni lesiones. Más de 60 gatos, todos recogidos de la calle o abandonados por su dueños durante los últimos años en Valparaíso y sus alrededores, tenían como refugio una estructura especial al interior de la Fundación Carlos Puelma Besa, ubicada en la localidad de Laguna Verde. No obstante, este fin de semana un incendio consumió por completo el recinto dejando sin hogar a los animalitos. Gracias a la oportuna acción del nochero que abrió todas las puertas del refugio apenas se percató de la presencia de las llamas, se evitó que los gatos sufrieran lesiones o heridas. Además, el trabajo de Bomberos permitió que el fuego no avanzará hacia el resto de los caniles. El Consejero Regional, Manuel Millones efectuó un llamado a todas las autoridades, el municipio de Valparaíso y empresarios privados para iniciar una campaña de ayuda y recolección de fondos, que permitan levantar a la brevedad la estructura y brindarles un hogar a los animales que ya habían sido recogidos de la calle. "Las instituciones públicas tienen que involucrarse mucho más con las organizaciones animalistas, ya sea las que tienen refugios temporales o caniles, pues ellos realizan una tremenda y noble labor de rescate y bienestar animal. Muchas personas y ONG realizan un verdadero apostolado para salvar a diferentes especies, perros, gatos y otros, evitando así que mueran o sean maltratados. Es el caso de la Fundación Carlos Puelma Beza que este fin de semana sufrió un incendio en el refugio de los gatos, donde se acogía a más de 60 animalitos, gracias a dios, ninguno de ellos falleció", explicó Millones. Reiteró que es necesario comenzar con una campaña de apoyo, mientras anunció que desde el Consejo Regional Valparaíso, se ha abierto un fondo concursable para poder contar con algunos recursos e ir en ayuda de las ong que realizan esta importante labor de protección y cuidado animal.

El diputado Andrés Celis Montt, representante del distrito 7, solicitó una reunión con el Director Nacional de Obras Hidráulicas, Claudio Darrigrandi, para analizar posibilidades de aumentar la capacidad de extracción de agua en Laguna Verde y paliar la crisis hídrica que sufre Laguna Verde. Junto a lo anterior, el equipo parlamentario de Celis recorrió el sector Santa Rosa de Quebrada Verde, aledaño al punto de distribución “El Vigía” de Esval, constatando una gran fuga de agua; por esto, se ofició a la Superintendencia de Servicios Sanitarios para que fiscalice la situación. Además, acogiendo la denuncia de los vecinos, se requirió la intervención de la Seremi de Salud para constatar posibles infracciones a la norma por la contaminación que existiría en la Laguna El Plateado. “La falta de agua en Laguna Verde es una situación grave pero posible de solucionar. Lamentablemente, las autoridades locales no han sabido enfrentar esta problemática y se han desgastado en otros temas, postergando las urgentes necesidades de la comunidad, razón por la cual, decidí recurrir a las autoridades del nivel central, ante la inoperancia de la autoridad municipal”, explicó Celis Montt. “Esto necesita ser solucionado tanto a nivel secundario, reparando la fuga de agua existente y verificando la posible contaminación en El Plateado, pero también de forma definitiva, solicitando mayores inversiones de Obras Hidráulicas para impulsar proyectos que lleven a la independencia hídrica a Laguna Verde”, finalizó el parlamentario.

Detectives de la Brigada Investigadora de Robos Valparaíso en coordinación con el Ministerio Público, detuvo a tres personas en el marco de un operativo policial donde se recuperaron dos ejemplares caninos que fueron sustraídos en septiembre del año pasado, desde un domicilio en la ciudad de Quilpué. En las diligencias efectuadas en los sectores de Puertas Negras y Laguna Verde, además se incautaron municiones, un arma de fuego, dinero en efectivo, 14.253 gramos de clorhidrato de cocaína, 769 de cannabis sativa, 3.428 dosis de cocaína base listas para su comercialización, 11 dosis de droga sintética 'tusi' y 78 plantas del género cannabis cultivadas en un indoor ubicado en uno de los domicilios. Cabe señalar, que en el robo de los perros de raza Bulldog inglés, un grupo de sujetos desconocidos premunidos con armas de fuego intimidaron y agredieron a los propietarios, robando seis canes, uno de los cuales ya había sido recuperado por esta unidad especializada. Los antecedentes de esta investigación serán remitidos al Ministerio Público, mientras que los imputados fueron puestos a disposición del Juzgado de Garantía de Valparaíso para efectuar su formalización correspondiente por los Delitos de Receptación, Tráfico ilícito de Drogas e Infracción a la Ley de Armas.
