Some findings have been used for marketing while others have been more nefarious in obscuring negative aspects or risks about certain products.   What doesn't happen often is something on the scale of Big Tobacco hiding the health effects of smoking. The Nation, a politically progressive magazine, recently published a piece titled "How Big Wireless Made Us Think That Cell Phones Are Safe: A Special Investigation" by veteran journalist Mark Hertsgaard and historian Mark Dowie.   While the piece claims not to argue over the material risks of wireless radiation, it does reveal how much power firms like the CTIA and GSMA have been able to control in squashing and manipulating scientific research finding correlation between phone use and cancer development.   As the industry heads towards 5G with more high-frequency transmitters coming into the picture, we debate about how much care we should take moving forward as the WHO is rumored to be reevaluating the carcinogenic classification of wireless radiation. • See you soon! גוגל תחסום פרסומות, כולם מעתיקים מאפל ב-MWC ופייסבוק, כמה מפתיע, מעצבנת   לרלרת שחר שונא שמכריחים אנשים ליהנות בפורים, וגם כשעומדים מעל משלוח המנות שקיבלת ו מה הבאת לנו? כלום, לא הבאתי לנו כלום. לי לעומת זאת יש הרבה ממתקים. או כשאתה מגיע מחופש ואיזה דודה תורנית אומרת מה יש לנו פה? לנו אין כלום. אני התחפשתי לשוטרת זונה אבל לנו אין כלום. המפגש המפורסם של אהוד: בעודי פוסע החוצה מן ההשקה של הגלקסי החדש בברצלונה, ניגשת אלי אישה בחיג'אב, אמרה שהיא ראתה אותי ושואלת אם אפשר לצטלם. כסלב ותיק, הפניות הללו לא זרות לי, במיוחד כאשר אני לבוש בחולצת ריק אנד מורטי שבתמונה המצורפת. אלא שאז היא מסבירה – ראיתי את הפרוטזה שלך, וגם לי יש, ואני אשמח שנצטלם. אה בטח, הסכמתי. ביקשתי רשות לחבק אותה בתמונה. היא אמרה שמעדיפה שלא. צולמנו, לא מחובקים. היא (Zainab Al-Eqabi) מסרה לי את המייל שלה וביקשה את התמונות. בערב שלחתי אותן, ואז גיגלתי לראות כמה ציבורית היא. מתברר שהיא אישה ממוצא עיראקי שנפצעה בהפצצה של האמריקאים. כעת גרה בדובאי ועובדת בחברת תרופות, במקביל להרצאות שהוא נושאת על החיים שלה כאישה נכה בכל מיני טדים וכאלה. לגבי הציבוריות שלה, אומר זאת כך: ביחד יש לנו 1,000,242 עוקבים באינסטגרם. תערוכת הסלולר – MWC כולם מעתיקים מאפל סמסונג הייתה החברה הראשונה שהציגה סמארטפון בתערוכה האחרונה – ה-S9 שיש בו הילוך סופר איטי, ואימוג'י שמבוסס על הפנים שלנו, בכלל לא מועתק מאפל, ואצל רובנו לא ממש היה דומה לפרצוף. סינית בשם ליגו (Leagoo) הציגה סמארטפון מבוסס אנדרואיד עם הקרניים של אפל, בעלות של 129 דולר בלבד (אבל מפרט בהתאם). סוני ונוקיה הציגו טלפונים משלהן, ומחקו מהעתקה מאייפון בעיצוב ובאימוג'י (אם כי סוני ממשיכה עם סריקת תלת המימד שלה). אסוס הציגה את הזנפון 5, שגם לו יש קרניים כמו ה"Fruit Phone" ואת הזנימוג'י, שזה גם אימוג'י שמבוסס על התנועות שלנו. אורן דותן מאוולה ניסח את זה יפה ואמר שהמטרה היא שניראה מטומטמים. למי עוד מחכים? ל-LG (שהצצה ל-G7 שלה נחשפה בוויינט על ידי גיא לוי, שם ראינו שגם לו יש קרניים), לוואווי שתציג את ה-P20 בסוף החודש, לשיאומי ולכל מיני סיניות אחרות שאולי יפתיעו. ורק מכשיר אחד הוצג וחברינו בג׳ירפה זכו לראות של חברת Vivo, והוא ללא שוליים בכלל עם 98 אחוז מסך. גאדג'ט התרגום Travis הדגמה חיה של גאדג'ט התרגום Travis. מוצר שנולד באינדיגוגו ויודע לתרגם אתכם בדיבור בין 80 שפות בחיבור לאינטרנט, ומתוכן 9 שפות אופלייין: אנגלית, ספרדית, פורטוגזית, יפנית, איטלקית, הינדו, גרמנית, צרפתית והולדנדית. את השפות אונליין הוא לוקח שילוב של שירותי תרגום של גוגל, מיקרוסופט ומיקרוסופט.. הוא עובד מציון, ולפחות בשפות שאני ניסיתי אותו – אנגלית, עברית וספרדית מול דוברת החברה, הוא היה די מדויק. איך אני יודע על הדיוק בספרדית, לפי מתי שהיא (שבעצמה יודעת מעט עברית) אמרה שהיא לא בדיוק הבינה את השאלה המתורגמת. עולה 199 דולר. כן. ב-200 דולר מוצר שעושה מה שהסמארטפון יודע לעשות באמצעות אפליקציה מובנית פחות או יותר, ובעצמו דורש חיבור לאינטרנט באמצעות סים או רשת ווייפיי (בתת'רינג לטלפון או דרך אחרת). היתרון לדברי החברה הוא שהטראויס יותר קל לתפעול, ופחות גניב אם אתם תיירים ששולפים אותו באמצע הרחוב. הדגם החדש יהיה רמקול בלוטות' בלבד ללא מסך, יתרגם רק 60 שפות ויעלה 159 דולר.   למה שחר כבר לא סובל את פייסבוק יותר זוגות שכותבים דברים אחד לשני על הקיר הפומבי פרסומות שלא נגמרות תלונות בלתי פוסקות על עסקים דיונים פוליטיים פרסומות שמתחזות לכתבות אמיתיות עם כותרות כמו "התיק הכי מדהים שהגנבים לא רוצים שיהיה לכם" או "התרופה המדהימה שהרופאים מפחדים ממנה" כאילו רופא אמיתי מפחד מתרופת פלא. להצטלם עם אנשים שהם בפירוש יותר מפורסמים מכם ולומר שהם ביקשו סלפי. הם לא ביקשו, אתם ביקשתם וכולנו יודעים את זה. פייסבוק מנציחה תפיסה מוטעית של החיים שבה לכל אחד יש חיים נפלאים, או לחילופין – תמיד סובלים. לילד הזה יש מחלה קשה תתן לו לייקים כדי שיבריא, את האיש הזה בעטו מהאוטובוס, לאישה הזו התייחסו מגעיל בחנות. כל הבעיות האלה הן של אנשים אחרים והם מכריחים אתכם לקחת חלק בהתמודדות איתן ווואללה יש לי מבלי תודה רבה אז אין לי צורך גם בבעיות של אחרים. אנשים רבים על הזמן ועל כלום כי קל מאוד להתחיל ויכוחים כשאתה לא רואה את האנשים ישירות מולך. הקלות שבה אפשר להיקלע לשיח אגרסיבי גורמת לצנזורה עצמית וזו לא אמורה להיות ההרגשה סביב הרשת החברתית. אי אפשר לעזוב באמת מעבר לחוסר היכולת הטכנית לעזוב את פייסבוק מיידית כי למה שהם יאפשרו כזה דבר, הרבה מהתקשורת החברתית שלנו מתבצעת דרכה. הרי הרבה יותר קל לשלוח למישהו זר הודעה בפייסבוק מאשר להשיג את האימייל שלו. ואתה רוצה לשמור את ערוץ התקשרות הזה פתוח למקרה שיגיע משהו מעניין או שסתם תצטרך אותו. חוסר האונים הזה מוביל לחוויית שימוש מתסכלת ו I wish I could quit you אבל זה די בעייתי כי אני לא מכיר אופציה אחרת ששימושית באותה מידה רק בלי הבעיות. גוגל תחסום פרסומות בעצמה כשגוגל נכנכס לענייני הדפדפנים היה לה טולבר לפיירפוקס, שבין השאר חסם פופאפים. שאלתי (אהוד) את לארי וסרגיי שהגיעו לארץ, האם הם לא חושבים שהם חוסמים פרסומאים מלפרסם בדרכים שאינן שלהם – במודעות גוגל. הם ענו לי שזה מה שהגולשים רוצים ולשם הולכת התעשייה. מאז גוגל פיתחה את דפדפן כרום שגם חוסם פופאפים וחוסם את אמצעי פרסום, בין אם לחסום פיזית, ובין אם להוריד בדירוג של גוגל אתרים שמפרסמים בכל מיני אמצעים אחרים.   המלצה בדקה לקראת הופעתו של ג'ימי קאר בישראל, אהוד ממליץ על ההופעה Funny Business בנפטפליקס, ובכלל כל הופעה שלו שאתם יכולים לשים עליה את היד.אזהרה: הוא ממש וולגרי ברמת התאורים הפורנוגרפיים ומאוד לא PC.   שחר ממליץ על הסרט התיעודי על טאואר רקורדס בנטפליקס – All thing must pass וכן על  The good place ועל  Marlone wayans woke-ish   The post לתרגם פרסומות עם קרניים בפייס [135] appeared first on Low Battery.
