Welcome to Notable Leaders Radio! I'm Belinda Pruyne, in this milestone 100th episode, I'm celebrating the incredible guests who've shared their wisdom, courage, and vulnerable stories over the years. In today's episode, we discuss: Discover the real journeys behind "overnight success" stories—Because you'll see that even the most accomplished leaders face setbacks and internal challenges, giving you permission to honor your own slow burn to success rather than compare yourself to unrealistic narratives. Those “overnight successes” actually take 15 years of hard work and pushing through whatever is in your way. Learn about finding and using your unique voice, especially in male-dominated industries (Ivy Slater's, Vice Admiral Sandra Stosz's, Michelle Russo's, Amy Conway-Hatcher's, Dr Mary O'Connor's, stories)—If you're struggling to stand out or be heard, their insights will help you leverage your strengths in any challenging environment. Hear diverse stories of joy, resilience, and strategic risk-taking—so you can build more joy, clarity, and growth into your own work, borrowing from actionable wisdom shared by a variety of leaders, from corporate executives to entertainers/authors to military figures, and the list goes on. See the power of “Being More You, Not Faux You” in tough situations (Amanda Hawkins' story)—You'll realize that authenticity isn't just a nice idea, but a winning strategy for building trust and influence with even the most senior decision-makers. Take away unique mindsets like architecting a life by design (Chad Lefebvre) versus a life by default—As a way to challenge accepted norms and intentionally create a fulfilling path, instead of just accepting what you're given. Understand how personal experiences outside of business (from dance to the board room, riding instructor to corporate executive…) can shape leadership strengths—Meaning you can tap into your own life story and skills for professional advantage, not just traditional credentials. Simon and Nick are back, a week late because Simon forgot what date it was! Nick's trusty microphone then decided to die completely, so he sounds a little different as he had to fall back on his headset, and the master recording crashed and deleted itself before Simon could save it, so this is the Piezo backup recording, which is perfectly OK but doesn't have all the Audio Hijack niceness. Anyway in a month that saw new Apple Macs, and iPads, and Tariff Tomfoolery and much more the boys decide to talk about Simon ordering a 16e, and plastic eating mealworms, amongst other things!!! We talk express service friction, retention killers, service-to-sales drama, video transparency, and how real-time AI automation can make your people faster, more productive, and more profitable. Don't miss this inspiring conversation with one of the auto industry's most respected founders!
In this episode of Double Tap, Steven and Shaun dive into the latest iOS 18.4 update and put Apple's much-hyped Visual Intelligence feature to the test—and let's just say, it didn't go quite as expected. They discuss real-world accessibility challenges with this new tool, especially when compared to apps like Be My Eyes. Plus, they explore the new ambient playlists in Apple Music and debate their actual usefulness. The conversation soon shifts into a broader Apple critique: from Siri's unreliability to ongoing accessibility issues in iCloud for Windows, and the frustrating UI in Apple's Voice Memos app. Listener Brian introduces the accessible Tape It app, prompting a larger discussion about mobile vs. desktop recording and editing for blind users. Meanwhile, Steven shares his workflow for using VoiceOver with Final Cut and reveals how he's mastering drag-and-drop with a screen reader. We also hear thoughtful feedback from listeners about Braille literacy, the challenges of light sensitivity, and the emotional impact of losing sight—especially when thinking about past visual experiences like video games or driving. The episode wraps with an email segment touching on the confusing new AI categorization in Apple Mail and audio clarity issues in podcasting.Chapter Markers:00:00 Introduction and Tech Rush02:53 iOS 18.4 Features and Visual Intelligence06:09 Apple Music's Ambient Playlists08:59 iCloud for Windows Accessibility Issues12:14 VoiceOver Command Customization15:12 Mouse Control with VoiceOver17:57 Exploring Drag and Drop Functionality20:50 Light Sensitivity and Personal Experiences23:47 Conclusion and Future Topics28:59 Nostalgia and Gaming Experience32:18 The Importance of Open Conversations33:48 Listener Feedback and Community Engagement35:44 Accessibility in Audio Recording Apps39:03 Desktop vs Mobile for Audio Editing42:20 Clarity in Communication for Accessibility52:44 Braille Literacy and Employment PerspectivesGet in touch with Double Tap by emailing us feedback@doubletaponair.com or by call 1-877-803-4567 and leave us a voicemail. On this week's episode of The MacRumors Show, we unpack Apple's announcement of the all-new iPhone 16e. The iPhone 16e is the newest member of the iPhone lineup, offering a massive upgrade over the now-discontinued third-generation iPhone SE. It features a 6.1-inch OLED display with a notch for Face ID, a Ceramic Shield front cover, a USB-C port, and an Action button, and much more. It is powered by an A18 chip, enabling support for Apple Intelligence features, such as notification summaries and Genmoji for creating custom emoji. It also supports Visual Intelligence. In the iPhone 16e, the A18 chip has a 6-core CPU and a 16-core Neural Engine, but a binned 4-core GPU, making it slightly less powerful than the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. It also has IP68-rated water resistance, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.3. The device is equipped with an Apple-designed 5G modem called the C1, whereas other iPhones have a Qualcomm modem. Apple says its own modem is so power efficient that the iPhone 16e offers the longest battery life of any 6.1-inch iPhone model ever at up to 26 hours. On the back of the iPhone 16e is a single 48-megapixel Fusion camera, which provides a 2x "optical-quality" Telephoto option, according to Apple. On the front, there is a 12-megapixel camera with autofocus. The device does not have the Camera Control button that was introduced across the rest of the iPhone 16 lineup last year. It also lacks MagSafe. iPhone 16e supports Apple's satellite features. When outside of cellular and Wi-Fi coverage, the iPhone 16e supports Emergency SOS, Roadside Assistance, Messages, and Find My via satellite. The device is available in white or black, and with 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB storage capacities. In the U.S., pricing starts at $599. We talk through how the iPhone 16e compares to the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16, which sit at $699 and $799, respectively. We also contemplate what the discontinuation of the iPhone SE line means for the Apple Watch SE later this year.

Apple today announced the release of iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, and macOS Sequoia 15.2, introducing a brand-new set of Apple Intelligence features that will elevate users' experience with iPhone, iPad, and Mac, and builds on the Today, Apple Intelligence also begins language expansion with localised English support for Ireland, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, and the U.K., giving even more users around the world powerful new ways to use their iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Additional languages, including Chinese, English (India), English (Singapore), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, and Vietnamese, will be coming throughout the year, with an initial set arriving in a software update in April. Design Fun, Original Images with Image Playground The Image Playground experience allows users to easily create fun and unique images with concepts like themes, costumes, accessories, and places. Users can add their own text descriptions, and can even create images in the likeness of a family member or friend using photos from their photo library. Image Playground generates images in distinct styles, including Animation - a modern, 3D-animated look - and Illustration, which offers images with simple shapes, clear lines, and colour blocking. The experience is integrated right into Messages, making it easier than ever to create images for conversations, as well as into apps like Freeform, Keynote, and many others. Image Playground is also available as a brand-new dedicated app. Create Genmoji to Fit Any Moment With the power of Apple Intelligence, emoji is taken to the next level with Genmoji, making conversations with family and friends more fun and playful, and opening up entirely new ways to communicate. By simply typing a description into the emoji keyboard, a Genmoji will appear, including multiple options to choose from. With images from their photo library, users can take Genmoji even further by creating one that is inspired by a friend or family member. Personalised Genmoji can be customised with accessories, like a hat or sunglasses, and can reflect themes or activities to make them even more personal and unique. Just like emoji, Genmoji can be added inline to messages, or shared as a sticker or reaction in a Tapback.1 Take Notes to the Next Level with Image Wand The Notes app gets new tools to make note-taking more visual and dynamic. With Image Wand in the tool palette, users can quickly create images in their note using the written or visual context already captured within the note. Image Wand transforms a rough sketch into a polished image by simply circling it. Users can even circle empty space within a note, and Image Wand will gather context from the surrounding area - using on-device generative models to analyse the handwritten or typed text - to create a relevant image that complements the note and makes it more visual. Users can create images with the Animation, Illustration, and an additional Sketch style in Image Wand. Describe Changes in Writing Tools Writing Tools build on the existing options of Rewrite, Proofread, and Summarise with the new ability for users to specify the change they'd like to make, using the new Describe Your Change option. Describe Your Change gives users even more flexibility and control when they'd like to make their writing sound more expressive, such as to add more dynamic action words to their resume or even rewrite a dinner party invitation in the form of a poem, and more. Just like all of the features with Writing Tools, this new Describe Your Change option is available systemwide across Apple and many third-party apps. We kick off our conversation by unpacking Apple's quarterly earnings call, which revealed a revenue of $95 billion—a 6% annual increase. However, a notable twist was the one-time charge of $14.8 billion linked to a European tax case, significantly impacting our discussion on Apple's financial health. Transitioning from financials to technology advancements, we delve into the recent developments in Apple's Vision Pro. The release of Vision Pro 2.1 and its compatibility with Apple's software updates starts the discussion regarding the headset's features and the expected influence of Mac virtual display capabilities. Chuck and Marty reflect on their experiences and expectations for future enhancements in this space. As the conversation shifts to the beta release of iOS 18.2 later in the show, we cover new features around Apple Intelligence. This includes the introduction of tools like Playground and Genmoji, which allow for creative image manipulation and enhanced user interaction. With so many users eager to explore these new capabilities, Marty sheds light on some of the hurdles he has faced while waiting for access, igniting a candid dialogue about user experience and beta testing frustrations. The excitement continues with discussions about the newly announced Macs. The introduction of the latest iMac and Mac Mini—equipped with the M4 chip—sparks a passionate exchange about their specifications and value as entry-level computers. Chuck expresses his enthusiasm for the Mac Mini's portable design, while Marty shares plans to acquire one for himself. As we reflect on Apple's approach to product announcements, we also touch on how this segmented rollout provides focused attention on individual devices. Additionally, the new MacBook Pro models with M4 Pro and M4 Max chips are unveiled, leading to reflections on their enhanced performance metrics and prolonged battery life. The emphasis shifts to the versatility for both professional and casual users, generating a lively debate about current needs versus future-proofing investments.Lastly, we explore the realm of iOS with the rollout of iOS 18.1, discussing Apple Intelligence enhancements, user interface changes, and how they aim to improve user experience significantly. Jeff and Marty share personal anecdotes about their interactions with the enhancements, including improved Siri capabilities and photo functionalities. Welcome to a new weekly series we are launching on the Latin Wealth platform, Wealth Wednesday! On Wealth Wednesday, we will be discussing trending news, Latino culture and topics surrounding business, host by @chrisbelloso and @ricoramirez86. In this episode, we dive into the impressive economic power of U.S. Latinos, whose total economic output reached a staggering $3.6 trillion in 2022. If U.S. Latinos formed their own nation, they would rank as the 5th largest economy globally, surpassing many major nations. We break down the factors contributing to this economic surge, including entrepreneurship, educational advancement, and rapid population growth. However, despite these impressive numbers, challenges such as poverty rates among Latinos remain a pressing issue. Next, we turn our attention to Apple, which recently unveiled the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro. Despite some new features like sleep apnea detection for the Apple Watch and enhanced Visual Intelligence for iPhones, many are criticizing Apple for lacking innovation and creativity. With competitors like Huawei introducing groundbreaking products, is Apple at risk of losing its edge? Plus, we'll share updates on the upcoming Latin Wealth Summit, happening October 12th-13th, and give a quick shout-out to Jeremiah, who will return next week after a busy Q4. Follow us on IG: @latinwealth Email for questions or inquiries: latinwealthpodcast@gmail.com
