Lucius Martin, 39, faces a long list of charges after a woman found photos of her daughter and the girl's friend nude on his phone. The Marion County Sheriff says the photos were not original images of the girls and Martin used artificial intelligence to alter the photos and turn them into pornography. Deputies stopped Martin earlier this week to take him into custody and at that time they said he destroyed evidence. Law&Crime's Angenette Levy goes through the disturbing allegations and why Martin could face more charges in this episode of Crime Fix — a daily show covering the biggest stories in crime.PLEASE SUPPORT THE SHOW:Download the FREE Upside App at https://upside.app.link/crimefix to get an extra 25 cents back for every gallon on your first tank of gas.Host:Angenette Levy https://twitter.com/Angenette5Guest:Dave Aronberg https://x.com/aronbergTim Jansen https://www.instagram.com/courtroomchefProducer:Jordan ChaconCRIME FIX PRODUCTION:Head of Social Media, YouTube - Bobby SzokeSocial Media Management - Vanessa BeinVideo Editing - Daniel CamachoGuest Booking - Alyssa Fisher & Diane KayeSTAY UP-TO-DATE WITH THE LAW&CRIME NETWORK:Watch Law&Crime Network on YouTubeTV: https://bit.ly/3td2e3yWhere To Watch Law&Crime Network: https://bit.ly/3akxLK5Sign Up For Law&Crime's Daily Newsletter: https://bit.ly/LawandCrimeNewsletterRead Fascinating Articles From Law&Crime Network: https://bit.ly/3td2IqoLAW&CRIME NETWORK SOCIAL MEDIA:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lawandcrime/Twitter: https://twitter.com/LawCrimeNetworkFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/lawandcrimeTwitch: https://www.twitch.tv/lawandcrimenetworkTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@lawandcrimeSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Episode 110 Sara Gail Ebersole 26 year old Sara Gail Ebersole vanished on March 2nd, 2023, after hanging out with, and interacting with a group of people in Reddick, FL. Just after 10PM that night, she texted her sister Michele Tullis to let her know that she was getting into a random truck with some cowboys. She was seen on surveillance video at the Circle K store in the 17900 block of North Highway 441, getting into a black pickup truck with two males. At some point after this, witnesses claim to have seen Sara leave a subdivided residence in the 18000 block of North U.S. Highway 441 in Reddick. According to the three witnesses, Sara left the house between 3:00 and 5:00 a.m. in a newer model blue Hyundai sedan, driven by a Hispanic male in his mid-thirties with long dark hair and a thin build. Sara was never seen again. In March 2024, a year after Sara disappeared, investigators announced Tyrone D. Morman was a person of interest in her case and that they had determined she had left with Morman on the night she was last seen. According to Sara's sister Michele, Sara did not know Mormon. Florida Deputy Arrested, Was It Fair? A Family's Fight in Court and Beyond. When David was sworn in as a Deputy for the Marion County Sheriff's Office in Florida, it felt like the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. Coming from a long family line of police officers, law enforcement wasn't just a career option, it was a calling. “He wanted this more than anything,” recalls his wife, Dr. Svetlana ‘Lana' Kirchevshy-Ur, a doctor who was completing her medical residency in Gainesville at the time. “It was a dream he worked hard to achieve, even later in life.” The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast promoted across their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other social media platforms. Is he an ex Law Enforcement Officer, or a former Law Enforcement Officer, you get to decide. An "ex" Law Enforcement Officer is someone who was fired, or resigned under duress and left in less than honorable conditions. He is the guest on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast, available for free on their website, on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and most podcast platforms. But that dream quickly unraveled. Less than a year after his first patrol assignment, David was accused of making “false reports.” On May 10, 2021, he resigned “under duress” after being threatened with criminal charges. Two days later, those threats materialized. David was arrested on four counts of making false official statements, charges that his wife insists were groundless. “There were no allegations of any crime committed by my husband,” they said. Look for supporting stories about this and much more from Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast in platforms like Medium , Blogspot and Linkedin . The Fight in Court The legal ordeal stretched on for years. “The State Attorney's Office kept refiling and changing charges,” they explained. “But in the end, 18 of the 20 charges were dismissed by a judge, and the last two were dropped.” Florida Deputy Arrested, Was It Fair? A Family's Fight in Court and Beyond. Despite being cleared, the damage was lasting. David was placed on the Fifth Circuit State Attorney's Brady list, a designation meant to flag law enforcement officers with potential credibility issues. For David, this was devastating. Inclusion on the Brady list effectively barred him from ever working in law enforcement again. Available for free on their website and streaming on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other podcast platforms. Local news outlets, including the Ocala Gazette, questioned whether the Brady list was being applied fairly. A 2024 article noted inconsistencies, pointing out that some officers with internal dishonesty findings weren't listed, while others landed on the list for what appeared to be minor procedural issues. “For my husband, the Brady list isn't just a bureaucratic footnote, it's a career-ending label,” Lana said. A Story Shared on Podcasts and Social Media David and Lana's story is now being told through The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast, where David shares his ordeal in his own words. The episode is streaming free on their website, as well as on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other major podcast platforms. It is also promoted across their Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other social media channels, ensuring their story reaches a wide audience. Florida Deputy Arrested, Was It Fair? Together, they launched Rustic Dough Works, a pizza trailer that quickly became a local favorite. Still, the legal battle continues. David has filed lawsuits against the sheriff's office and remains determined to restore his name. “We believe in accountability,” Lana said. “People need to know our story, because what happened to David could happen to others.” Florida Deputy Arrested, Was It Fair? A highly trained Hospice and Palliative Medicine Physician, with an Internal Medicine background and years of experience in nursing, homecare, and hemodialysis, Lana's life seemed firmly rooted in the world of medicine. But behind the white coat is a woman who has been navigating a storm few could imagine. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast interview, available for free on their website, on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and more podcast platforms. Her journey is deeply intertwined with her husband, David Ur, a former Marion County Sheriff's Office Deputy. David's path to law enforcement was not a casual career choice, it was a calling. “He came from a long family line of Police Officers,” Lana recalls. “He wanted this more than anything. It was a dream he worked hard to achieve, even later in life.” The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast promoted across their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other social media platforms. The couple moved from New Jersey to Florida while Lana was completing her medical residency in Gainesville. Look for supporting stories about this and much more from Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast in platforms like Medium , Blogspot and Linkedin . But within months, tensions began to surface. According to David's complaint, his reporting style clashed with the department's expectations. On May 10, 2021, less than a year into the job, David resigned “under duress” after being threatened with criminal charges for making “false reports.” Two days later, those threats became reality. David was arrested on four counts of making false official statements, charges stemming from a drug arrest incident where, according to Lana, “there were no allegations of any crime committed by my husband.” Available for free on their website and streaming on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other podcast platforms. The legal battle stretched for years. “The State Attorney's Office kept refiling and changing charges,” Lana explains. “But in the end, 18 of the 20 charges were dismissed by a judge, and the last two were dropped.” Despite the outcome, the damage was lasting. David remains on the Fifth Circuit State Attorney's Brady list, which flags law enforcement officers with alleged credibility concerns. Inclusion on that list effectively blocks him from working in law enforcement anywhere else. The “Ocala Gazette” reported on October 4, 2024, that questions remain about how the Brady list is applied, noting that some officers with internal dishonesty findings weren't listed, while others were included for what appeared to be procedural mistakes. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast episode is available for free on their website , Apple Podcasts , Spotify and most major podcast platforms. Lana speaks about the ordeal with a mix of heartbreak and resilience. “We endured things I never imagined we would, public accusations, fear for our safety, financial strain. And yet, through it all, we had to keep moving forward.” After her residency, the couple relocated to Palm Coast for safety reasons. There, they found an unexpected new chapter. Together, they operate Rustic Dough Works, a pizza trailer that quickly became a local favorite. “It's our way of rebuilding, you can find us on Facebook, we post where we'll be, and the community has been amazing.” But the legal fight isn't over. David is exploring options to return to law enforcement and has filed lawsuits against the Marion County Sheriff's Office. “We believe in accountability,” Lana emphasizes. “What happened to David could happen to others. People need to know our story.” The full podcast episode is streaming now on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Their experience has become more than a private tragedy, it's now a public conversation about law, fairness, and the human cost of flawed systems. Through interviews, news features, and appearances on podcasts available on Apple and Spotify, Lana and David share their journey, using platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn to connect with others who have faced similar struggles. “This is bigger than us,” Lana says. “It's about standing up when the truth matters more than the consequences.” Her Husband Was Arrested For "False Charges". Her Journey and Story. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast promoted across their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other social media platforms. In a case that has drawn widespread attention, Susan Louise Lorincz, a 60-year-old resident of Florida, was convicted on Friday of manslaughter by use of a firearm in the tragic death of Ajike “A.J.” Owens, a 35-year-old Black mother of four. The verdict came after a brief deliberation by an all-white jury. Outside the courtroom, Pamela Dias, Owens' mother, said, “We've achieved some justice for Ajike. My heart is a little lighter,” Dias said. “This has been a long journey to get to this stage, to get to this verdict. I find some peace with that verdict.” Ajike “A.J.” Owens was fatally shot on June 2, 2023, as reported by the Marion County Sheriff's Office. Deputies initially responded to a call about trespassing around 9 p.m. Shortly after, they received another call about a shooting at the same address. Upon arrival, deputies found Owens in front of Lorincz's apartment with a gunshot wound. They provided immediate aid until Marion County Fire Rescue arrived and transported Owens to the hospital, where she later died. Detectives, through interviews, surveillance footage, and prior incident reports, discovered that Lorincz had grown increasingly hostile towards Owens' children, who had been playing in a nearby field. Authorities reported a series of escalating incidents leading up to the shooting. A neighbor witnessed Lorincz yelling at Owens' children, and during the altercation, Lorincz threw a roller skate at the 10-year-old, injuring his toe. When the boy and his 12-year-old brother approached Lorincz to address the issue, she opened her door and swung an umbrella at them. After the children relayed the events to their mother, Owens went to Lorincz's residence, knocked repeatedly, and demanded that Lorincz come outside. In response, Lorincz fired a shot through the door, hitting Owens in the chest as her 10-year-old son stood beside her. Lorincz later claimed self-defense, alleging that Owens had tried to break down her door and had previously attacked her. Despite Lorincz's claims of self-defense, detectives concluded that her actions were not legally justified. Bill Gladson, State Attorney for the Fifth Judicial Circuit, stated in a news release that the case serves as a tragic reminder of the profound consequences of gun violence. “The defendant's choices have left four young children without their mother, a loss that will be felt for the rest of their lives,” he said. “While today's verdict can't bring AJ back, we hope it brings some measure of justice and peace to her family and friends.” Lorincz, who faces up to 30 years in prison, will be sentenced at a later date. The 2009 Murder of 66 year old Doris Babcock in Dunnellon, Florida Committed by 19 year old Zachary Lee Snyder. On the evening of November 14, 2009, Marion County Sheriff's Office was contacted by long haul truck driver Cecil Babcock, who was requesting a welfare check on his wife, Doris, who he was unable to get a hold of for more than a day, which was very unusual. Deputies arrived to find an ominous scene along with a plume of smoke rising from a fire pit located in the backyard of the home. There was a young man inside the house, there, according to him, looking for Miss Doris, but also taking care of a few chores for since he was there. As innocent and unassuming as the teenager at the Babcock home appeared, there was definitely something off about the whole scene...especially when it came to the source of that smoke plume surrounding the home. Where is Doris Babcock?SOURCES:https://www.ocala.com/story/news/crime/2012/09/14/man-22-pleads-guilty-in-2009-dunnellon-murder/31908744007/https://www.gainesville.com/story/news/local/2009/11/16/dunnellon-murder-suspects-to-do-list-kill-mrs-dee/31730411007/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMK093VL7A8LINKS:Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/killaforniapodPayPal: https://www.paypal.coCashm/paypalme/killaforniapodMerchandise: https://killaforniadreamingpodcast.threadless.com/Website: https://killaforniadreamingpodcast.buzzsprout.com/Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1296620370450345/Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/killaforniadreamingInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/killaforniadreamingpod/?hl=enX: https://twitter.com/killaforniapodEmail: killaforniapod@gmail.comTikTok: @killaforniadreamingpod Cash App: $KDpodcastSnapchat: killaforniapod

On a somber day, March 25th, Herbert Swilley, a dedicated Florida handyman, took to social media to reveal a heart-wrenching truth. "My dearest friend and partner," as he fondly called Timothy Floyd Smith, had met an unexpected demise. "This has been one of the most painful revelations I've ever had to convey," he wrote about his husband of close to eight years, with a heart heavy with sorrow. According to Ocala StarBanner, the tragic discovery of Smith's lifeless body was made shortly after 11 a.m. on that fateful day. Situated in the tranquil Citrus Park neighborhood of Ocala, deputies from the Marion County Sheriff's Office found Smith, an esteemed executive director of a renowned senior living community. The preliminary investigation painted a grim picture. The Ocala StarBanner reported that Smith "had endured a violent assault" leading up to his untimely death. In the aftermath of this shocking incident, Swilley, proprietor of a local handyman service, sought community support. Launching a GoFundMe campaign, he aimed to procure funds for Smith's funeral, a "celebration of life," and to manage impending financial obligations. The campaign managed to secure $2,235, a fraction of the targeted $7,500. However, the plot thickened when the Marion County Sheriff's Office, on a subsequent Tuesday, identified Swilley as a potential suspect in Smith's tragic killing. The revelation was all the more poignant as, on that very day, Swilley had taken to Facebook to express his yearning, noting, “I miss you every day and wish you were beside me.” A statement from the sheriff's office further illuminated the ongoing investigation. "In the early stages, detectives engaged Mr. Swilley. Despite subsequent attempts to resume this dialogue, his legal counsel has emphasized that he'd only entertain discussions if assured immunity against charges related to Timothy's death." Adding another layer to this enigmatic case is the involvement of Jordan Swilley, Herbert's offspring. The sheriff's office has earmarked her as a person of interest. Their statement disclosed, "While Jordan provided an initial account, she has since chosen to remain reticent." To date, no charges have materialized. Efforts to contact the legal representatives of both Herbert and Jordan Swilley remained unsuccessful. Sheriff Billy Woods, addressing the community, stated, "In light of Herbert and Jordan's reluctance to further cooperate, we turn to the community, hopeful that someone possesses knowledge instrumental to unraveling this mystery." Authorities have amplified their plea, urging citizens to recall and report any peculiarities surrounding Smith's activities or insights into the relationship dynamics between Timothy and Herbert. In an effort to stimulate community involvement, a substantial reward of $14,500 is being offered for leads that pave the way to the perpetrator's apprehension. Recollections from colleagues depict a regular day for Smith on March 23. As reported by Villages-News.com, he attended his duties at Brookdale Chambrel Pinecastle, a reputable assisted living and memory care establishment in Ocala. Alarm bells rang the following day when he uncharacteristically missed work. This culminated in the tragic discovery on March 25th, instigated by an anonymous welfare check request. Sheriff Woods, speaking to the relentless dedication of his team, shared, "The relentless pursuit of my detectives paints a theory suggesting that this wasn't a random act. The heinous crime seems to be the handiwork of an acquaintance." Against the backdrop of this investigation, Swilley's social media posts reverberate with expressions of his profound love for Smith. On April 2nd, Swilley's message conveyed an invitation to Smith's memorial, urging attendees to don purple attire, a sentimental nod to their wedding. He reminisced, "Timothy cherished this hue. Our wedding theme revolved around it. He perpetually sported vibrant shades." Further posts showcased Swilley's poignant commemorations of significant dates. On August 1st, he remembered Smith's would-be 60th birthday, articulating his deep-seated grief and eternal love. By August 8th, he was reminiscing their eight-year journey, expressing hope in Smith's ethereal presence. Those with insights, even seemingly inconsequential, are encouraged to contact Marion County Crime Stoppers at (352) 368-STOP. The community's hope remains buoyed, awaiting the pivotal tip that could open this complex case. Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? In a shocking incident that has left the Indianapolis law enforcement community and citizens reeling, new court records reveal gruesome details of an inmate's murder of a Marion County Sheriff's Deputy during a daring escape attempt. Deputy John Durm, a beloved 38-year-old law enforcement veteran, fell victim to Orlando Mitchell's brutal attack. Mitchell choked Durm using the chain of his handcuffs, marking a tragic end for the devoted deputy and father of four. The fatal attack took place within the guarded entryway of the Adult Detention Center on the city's south side. Mitchell, who was returning from a hospital visit, allegedly launched the deadly assault as Durm opened the rear door of their transport vehicle. The Indianapolis police have classified the attack as an "intentional act of homicide," casting a cloud of grief and anger over the city and the law enforcement community. According to a probable cause affidavit, Mitchell, using the opportunity provided by Durm to open the rear door of the vehicle, managed to open the inner door. The affidavit chillingly described how Mitchell wrapped his hands around Durm's head and neck. Despite a desperate struggle, Durm could not free himself from the chain Mitchell used to choke him. Mitchell maintained his grip on Durm's neck until the deputy was motionless. Mitchell's audacious escape did not end there. After the horrific act, he used Durm's handcuff key to free himself. He then commandeered the van, crashing through the detention center's gate, only to be apprehended by other deputies after a short drive that ended in a crash. Already incarcerated for the murder of his ex-girlfriend, Krystal Walton, Mitchell now faces additional charges relating to Deputy Durm's tragic death. Walton's tragic story adds another layer of complexity to this case, underscoring the harrowing domestic violence she endured at Mitchell's hands. Her fears of Mitchell hunting her down proved tragically prophetic when Mitchell confronted and fatally shot her outside a daycare center in 2022. The Mitchell case highlights the persistent threat of domestic violence and its destructive impacts on victims and their families. It also serves as a chilling reminder of the dangers law enforcement officers face daily, even from those already behind bars. As the city mourns the loss of Deputy Durm, the ongoing investigation promises to bring justice for Durm's grieving family and the community he selflessly served. The case stands as a somber testament to the constant risks law enforcement officers face and the sacrifices they make to ensure public safety. Want to listen to ALL our Podcasts AD-FREE? Our card this week is Roberta Johnson, the 10 of Diamonds from Florida. In April 1999, U.S. Army veteran Roberta Johnson was joyfully anticipating some major milestones for her family, including the imminent birth of her son who was due any day as well as watching her then-17-year-old daughter, Arkeisha, collect her high school diploma at graduation in coming weeks.
