Mommy guilt is real! As much as I wish my resources were infinite, they really aren't and I have to admit, I've crumbled. Rushing to pick up my son, straight from work, taking care of my husband, all our Swiss family admin, my research, my clinic, my female empowerment club, just not myself. Lesser sleep quality and daycare germs didn't help my immune system, so getting sick, something as foreign to me as it could be. That didn't help my energy equilibrium either. Now everyone is having a rough time, since happy mommy is happy family.  Taking charge again for myself and reducing the mommy guilt moments! Taking time after work for myself Do 15min yoga before dinner Take a 5 min facial care daily Book a massage Meet a friend for coffee Organise help to go on couples night out!! Essential too!! Go on a solo AND guilt free trip A walk in nature A yoga class   @drschwank @unesurcent @optimalperformance @omni.vitality

In this episode, we dive into the profound truth that "done is better than perfect." We share personal experiences, revealing the struggles of trying to meet impossibly high standards and the importance of embracing imperfection. The episode unfolds with a candid conversation about a recent baking adventure gone awry, where the desire for perfection clashed with the joy of spending quality time with a child. We explore the pressures parents often place on themselves during the holiday season, attempting to create picture-perfect moments for their children. Listen in as we discuss the pitfalls of self-judgment and the impact it can have on both parent and child. Discover how reframing the narrative and focusing on the shared experience can transform a seemingly imperfect moment into a cherished memory. Whether you're a parent navigating the challenges of holiday preparations or someone seeking to release the shackles of perfection, this episode offers valuable insights and a reminder that the true joy lies in the journey, not the destination. Stick around for the spotlight story at the halfway point. As we have an expert who can help us with lifestyle changes, we will discuss an article titled, 11 Lifestyle Changes for Improving Mental Health and get Dr. V's take on it. Follow along here. The catalyst for this amazing career move was thru the podcast, where she not only educates women about their gynecologic health and how their bodies function but also about their overall health and wellness. Benita, as she is known by her family and friends, attributes her desire to be a health care provider to her parents and the times she “worked” in the office, they instilled in her the importance of education and hard work.  From an early age, she learned she could be the one to help people who are in need and hurting. While providing educational information and motivation, Dr. V hopes to help those who listen to reach their health goals. Can we have an honest conversation about what it means to be a caregiver? As one myself, I feel comfortable saying it isn't always easy or fun, but nobody's talking about it. Are we expected to continue to smile through it all and not be honest about the dark side of being responsible for the well-being of another human? Not today! Caregivers need a safe space to express their joy and challenges. So if you're a mom or dad - this is for you. If you're a daughter or son caring for your parents - this is for you as caregivers come in different packages. Today's episode is my love letter and a safe space for those who choose to serve others in need. Even if you don't listen to this podcast episode, which you should, please know I see you. Our family had a much-needed vacation, and I am happy to say it was close to perfect.   Even the mommy shamer could not spoil our great time.   If this were 2 years ago or even last year, the mommy shamer stating my child was having a “hissy fit” would have consumed my thoughts and overall experience.  Although, I do regret trying to justify my child's “hissy fit” to the mommy shamer.   No matter what, she was going to continue her ignorant judgment.   All she witnessed was a child not acting “perfect” or “being seen and not heard.” Finally, I realized it is not my responsibility to take the time and energy to educate someone insignificant in our lives.  My responsibility lies with my family and those who are in our lives.  As parents, we cannot control the mommy shamers, but we can control our response, or lack thereof, toward the mommy shammer.   As mentioned in this episode…Getting to Know You: The Family Journal and Game to learn more about your family and record the fun memories.  Now available on Amazon!  https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09VG3SDJC/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_56E8KZ3C24BAB3ZV3YTX   $2,99 on Kindle, and only $9.99 for paperback.  A Day In The Life Of A Stay-At-Home Mom journal provides 2 pages for each day.  Completing the reverse to-do list is the perfect reminder of all you accomplish in a single day.
