Send us a textElectric Violinist GINNY LUKE's highly anticipated and long-awaited debut solo vocal album, Devil at My Heels, is due out November 1 on KZZ Music/Blue Élan Records. The album combines melody, muscle, and message into an irresistible and immaculately executed 12 tracks bristling with anthemic hooks, soaring singing, and Luke's signature approach to violin as a scintillating rock instrument. It's boldly evidenced in the title track featuring Orianthi, which was released earlier this year as the first single and video which has already racked up over 34,000 views and can be seen on Luke's official YouTube page. The album's second single, “Yeah Yeah Yeah,” was recently released on all digital outlets, including her official YouTube page. “It's badass melodic rock with scorching violin,” LUKE enthused. “And a declaration of my autonomy and the journey of understanding my human experience.” Support the showVisit www.creativepeacemeal.com to leave a review, fan voicemail, and more!Insta @creative_peacemeal_podcastFB @creativepeacemealpodBonfire https://www.bonfire.com/store/creative-peacemeal/Redbubble CPPodcast.redbubble.comCreative Peacemeal READING list here Donate to AhHa!Broadway here! Let's set the stage. It's 1988. The airwaves are buzzing with the high-octane sounds of Def Leppard, Guns N' Roses, and Bon Jovi. MTV is our go-to for the latest music videos, and hip-hop is making serious waves with N.W.A. and Public Enemy dropping game-changing albums. We're quoting Die Hard, laughing at Beetlejuice, and tearing up at Rain Man. TV's got us hooked on Roseanne and The Wonder Years. The Berlin Wall is still up, and the Cold War is real, but there's a rebellious buzz in the air.Does this album bring back good vibes?

Bourbon House was founded by guitarist Jason Clark and vocalist Lacey Crowe in 2017. Upon the release of their self-titled EP, the single "Music in Your Bones" attracted the attention of disk jockeys around the world and received airplay on independent radio in more than a dozen countries and by the summer of 2018 they released their second album, Wild Abandon. The album spawned the fan favorites "Burn Them Bones," "Drown it in Whiskey," and "Jailer." From the fall of 2018 through the following year, the band welcomed Ryan Sargent as their official drummer, played across the American Midwest, and began recording singles which would ultimately comprise their third album. Bourbon House have been featured twice in Classic Rock Magazine, once for "Too High to Care," which was nominated for Track of the Week, and another time for "Devil on my Heels," which earned them a Track of the Week win and a spot on the magazine's covermount CD as well as a shout-out from Eddie Trunk on the program Trunk Nation. The success of "Devil on My Heels" continued as it reached #1 on the independent charts in Australia and #2 in the UK. In early 2020, they played a show in Nashville, TN, to benefit tornado victims, but had to cancel plans to tour the eastern states due to the pandemic. The band used the down time to shoot music videos for "Too High to Care" and "6000 Miles," and finish writing and recording what would be their third album. After landing a slot on the Blind Anxiety Entertainment roster, Bourbon House headlined their first tour of 25 dates through the southern United States in the spring of 2021. Within the following three months, Bourbon House released the single "Dead in the Water" along with an official music video and signed a management deal with Paul Crosby Management. "Dead in the Water" became a new fan favorite and is their first single to reach active rock radio, charting at 50 on BDS Indicator and 22 on the Foundations chart. In October of 2021, the band released their third album, Into the Red, on PACgroove Records with distribution through VON Artists Ltd. and The Orchard (Sony) which features the singles from the past two years and six previously unreleased tracks, including "I Got Trouble" for which they released their latest music video. Plans for 2022 include touring far and wide and another full-length album of original material. Bourbon House | Band (bourbonhouserocks.com)
Season 4 Episode 45 aired on Rebel Rock Radio at 19h00 on 11 Nov 2021. I have to confess that I thoroughly enjoyed this episode very much. It has been a rough week with load shedding in South Africa, we have had power outages for two to three hours at a time 3 to 4 hours a day. There is a general feeling of burnout and a bit of high octane rock and roll was the best antidote in the world. We kicked off in grand style with BulletBoys and a track called 'Hell on My Heels' the immortal opening count-in from Marq Torien serving as a message to the government. From there we continued with '80s metal in 2021 with Running Wild's latest release Blood on Blood and Mötley Crüe reminding us of how it was back in the day with 'Bad Boy Boogie' off Girls, Girls, Girls. Then a trip back to the early '70s with Alice Cooper and Grandfunk Railroad. And so it continued for a blistering 3 hours. It was wonderful to have 3 of the original TSORR supporters tuned in. TSORR started on the community station Mix FM in Midrand JHB on 21 Dec 2017 and was on air between midnight and 2 am and 4 years later it is great to have some of those listeners still tuning in. There was another amazing thing about this show, in recent episodes, Sao Paulo Brazil and Tokyo Japan have become the top listeners of the show and I paid tribute to both. In their honour, we checked out Sepultura and Loudness and raised a glass in appreciation of the support around the world as TSORR edges towards 15 000 listens. There was some great SA music from blues master Dan Patlansky, a gritty track from Jasper Dan and a really excellent song by The Burning called 'Taking My Kindness'. The Aussies got a look in as always with Cold Chisel and The Screaming Jets and Germany with a brand new track from Scorpions called 'Peacemaker', there was also the obligatory bit of Rammstein. Check it out it was a jol. PS, there was also the great exposure of the truth that Dee Snider is really Larry David :-)Artists featured: Bulletboys, Running Wild, Mötley Crüe, Alice Cooper, Grand Funk Railroad, Disturbed, Therapy?, Rammstein, Marilyn Manson, Cold Chisel, The Screaming Jets, Blue Oyster Cult, Kiss, Guns ‘n' Roses, Death Angel, Iron Maiden, Greta Van Fleet, Massive Wagons, Twisted Sister, Motörhead, Sex Pistols, The Jam, Social Distortion, Dan Patlansky, Jasper Dan, Sepultura, Loudness, Kid Rock, John Cougar, Metallica, Wrathchild America, Scorpions, Mastodon, Black Label Society, The Burning, The L.A. Veteran journalist and collaborator David Rensin is the author or co-author of dozens of books, and a longtime contributor to Playboy, where he conducted hundreds of celebrity interviews for the magazine. As a ghostwriter, he has written numerous books in collaboration with leading show business personalities like noted film and television producer Bernie Brillstein (Where Did I Go Right?), as well as unsung heroes like former Olympian Louis Zamperini, whose World War II survival saga Devil at My Heels introduced readers to an epic tale of courage and survival that was later popularized in the film “Unbroken.” David's written a bunch of books on his own, too—including All For a Few Perfect Waves: The Audacious Life and Legend of Rebel Surfer Miki Dora, which the author himself pegs as “the greatest surf story never told.” He's also written books on the legendary William Morris mailroom—and, with his friend Bill Zehme, The Bob Book, an unlikely tribute to the name Bob and to the many famous and not-so-famous men who carry it. “To me, each book is like falling in love,” David tells host Daniel Paisner, as he shares insights and anecdotes from his collaborative work with such celebrated personalities as Tim Allen (Don't Stand Too Close to a Naked Man), Chris Rock (Rock This!), Garry Shandling (Confessions of a Late Night Talk Show Host), Jeff Foxworthy (No Shirt, No Shoes…No Problem!). We're delighted to share this free-wheeling conversation with the masterful celebrity interviewer and story-teller David Rensin in this episode of As Told To: The Ghostwriting Podcast, in which he shares stories he's dined out on for years—and a few he's never told before. What would The Beatles' 1 album sound like if The Beatles never existed? What? That makes no sense. I did this show as a tribute to how every song they wrote (almost) was enduring and solid enough to be covered by their contemporaries as well as artists of the future. The Kids From The Brady Bunch - Love Me Do (1972) This was the album on which "It's A Sunshine Day", "Keep On", and "Drummer Man" appeared. I guess you could call this album their Rubber Soul. The Crickets - From Me To You (1964) At this point, The Crickets consisted of Sonny Curtis, Jerry Allison, Glen Hardin, and Jerry Naylor. Arranged by Leon Russell. Curtis would later write and sing the theme song for The Mary Tyler Moore Show, "Love Is All Around". He wrote two other songs POACA know. "I Fought The Law", originally recorded by Bobby Vee (who replaced The Crickets on the bill the night Buddy Holly died), and "More Than I Can Say" which was a huge hit years later for Leo Sayer. Brenda Lee - She Loves You (1965) The Beatles had acted as a support act for Brenda Lee when she headlined a gig at the Star Club in Hamburg, West Germany, in 1962. For any other artist of the time, that must have seemed like the toppermost of the poppermost. The year before this, she recorded "Is It True" featuring Jimmy Page on guitar. Sparks - I Wanna Hold Your Hand (1975) Produced by Tony Visconti, who also produced Bowie's Berlin trilogy. I cannot listen to Sparks for very long. I think the people who love them have some sort of soul deficiency. But for completion's sake, here. David Clayton-Thomas - Can't Buy Me Love (1975) I think this was his last solo album before rejoining Blood, Sweat and Tears. Whew. Hard to believe this was never issued on CD. After he rejoined, or maybe BECAUSE he rejoined, but more likely due to those old contractual obligations, their next two albums with him would be credited to Blood Sweat and Tears - Featuring David Clayton-Thomas. Did it make one damned bit of difference? It did not. John Mayall - A Hard Day's Night (1976) The Beatles were deceptively excellent singers. This comes into evidence when others try to ape their recordings. Produced by Allen Toussaint, who wrote the entire record except for this one track. This album charted nowhere. The Runaways - Eight Days a Week (1978) The Runaways were pretty limited instrumentalists. This is another deceptively difficult song to carry off. I don't think it's very good. Alma Cogen - I Feel Fine (1967) "I'm so glad...he's got me in a whirl..." This recording was released posthumously a year after her death from leukemia. It is speculated that she had an affair with John Lennon, who shagged everything not tied down or named Cynthia at that point. Because he could. Bee Gees - Ticket To Ride (1965) Released in 1970 without the consent of the group... but only in Germany, France, and Japan. The brothers didn't even know about it until they found it in a Swiss record store after the fact. They should have waited 7 more years. They would have made a mint. Dolly Parton - Help! (1979) The bassist, Abe Laboriel, saw his son become Paul McCartney's drummer. Marvin Gaye - Yesterday (1969) His next album was What's Going On. Yellow Magic Orchestra - Day Tripper (1979) Progress Organization - We Can Work It Out (1971) A Czech rock group. A little like Vanilla Fudge. They released exactly one album. This was on it. Aren't you happy I am here to do this stuff? Kenny Rogers & The First Edition - Paperback Writer (1973) "If you really like it, you can help me write..." I imagine after this Kenny Rogers asked for his deposit on the practice room returned. This album was a soundtrack of their TV show of the time. I cannot tell if Thelma Camacho is on this record. I played a set of her solo stuff on one of my shows. It's awful. Revelation - Yellow Submarine (1980) Sounds like Chic. Almost a carbon copy. The Singers Unlimited - Eleanor Rigby (1977) A pretty cool reinvention of this excellent song. From Wikipedia: Gene Puerling took advantage of cutting-edge, multi-tracking techniques of German studio engineer Hans Georg Brunner-Schwer to create his harmonic concepts and the group's signature sound. In the overdubbing process, baritone Puerling and tenor Shelton would often add two additional middle parts, after which all parts were "doubled" and "tripled." Creating these extra tracks created the fuller, richer sound of the group's recordings. The group would record their songs by having Bonnie Herman record a simplified version of the melody, after which, Len, Gene, and Don would fill in the remaining parts. Once this process had been completed, Bonnie Herman's original melodic line would be replaced with a new one, in which she could add melodic embellishments and add "color" to the group's sound. Bass singer Len Dresslar was known as the voice of the Jolly Green Giant ("Ho, Ho, Ho!") for over 40 years, as well as the voice behind other jingles. Bonnie Herman was the singer of the original "Like a Good Neighbor, State Farm Is There" commercial jingle, which ran for several years. She is the daughter of Lawrence Welk's original Champagne Lady Lois Best and Jules Herman, who was a trumpeter in the Welk orchestra. She is the niece of big band leader Woody Herman. Amen Corner - Penny Lane (1969) Amen Corner was a Welsh R&B-tinged pop band of the late '60s featuring singer Andy Fairweather-Low, organist Blue Weaver, guitarist Neil Jones, bassist Clive Taylor, saxophonists Allen Jones and Mike Smith, and drummer Dennis Bryon. You remember Dennis and Blue as two rock-steady members of that wonderful Bee Gees incarnation of the mid-to-late '70s. The Anita Kerr Singers - All You Need is Love (1967) Another song that seems very simple, but without the dotted eight notes, it sounds like your rich Aunt is reading you a book. I like the touches of electric guitar. François Glorieux - Hello, Goodbye (1977) This song translates unexpectedly well to slow classical piano...That caveman in the lower-left corner was a hidden member of The Beatles named Oook. v Buck Owens - Lady Madonna (1976) Brothers Johnson - Hey Jude (1976) You should know, if you do not, about an album released in 1976 called "All This and World War II". The soundtrack made money but the movie tanked. Get Back - Clarence Reid (1969) Reid had the talent and chops to be as big as Otis Redding or Wilson Pickett, but he became more popular doing dirty parodies of soul hits (“S–ting off the Dock of the Bay,” “What a Difference a Lay Makes?”) with his XXX-rated alter-ego Blowfly. The Percy Faith Strings - The Ballad of John and Yoko (1970) Squaresville! Isaac Hayes - Something (1970) All 11 minutes of it. Willie Bobo and The Bo Gents - Come Together (1971) Aretha Franklin - Let It Be (1970) Maybe the best of all of these. Aretha made some shitty choices, but she was an angel in front of a mic. Peter Frampton - The Long and Winding Road (1978) This happened. We all traipsed down to the theater in anticipation of some connection, some meaningful validation of what looked like a miracle about to happen. I cannot lie. When Billy Preston popped out of that statue or whatever, I felt pretty let down. The Hollies - Draggin' My Heels (1977)
Tracklist:1. Miles Davis - It Never Entered My Mind 2. Weldon Irvine - Softly 3. The Durutti Column - Grace 4. William Devaughn - Be Thankful For What You've Got (7" Long Version) 5. Rah Band - Clouds Across The Moon 6. Webster Lewis - Touch Your Love 7. Bohannon - I Wonder Why 8. Phyllis Hyman - Under Your Spell 9. The Pink Family - Don't Give Your Life Away 10. Chic - Sao Paulo 11. Maze feat. Frankie Beverly - Joy & Pain (Live) 12. Leroy Hutson - Cool Out 13. Level 42 - Eyes Waterfalling 14. The Hollies - Draggin' My Heels 15. Ariel Pink feat. "Your voices together sound like you came from the same womb.." - Brian Johnson, AC/DCThe universally notorious aphorism ‘Two are better than one' is evident the moment you hear the music of Sons of Daughters.Having just landed a management deal with RGK Entertainment Group (Tim Hicks/Dean Brody/Corb Lund) this dynamic duo was recognized as one of the top-five bands to watch for in 2015 by Fresh Independence Magazine. In addition to achieving honorable mentions for their infectious, hook-laden track “Hangman” in the 2014 International Songwriting Competition, the band most recently received accolades for their song “Penny” which was enough to make them finalists in the 2015 Unsigned Only Competition.Sons of Daughters creates contagious, highly-marketable, pop-influenced country songs. They have been compared to such notable, commercially-successful acts as Lady Antebellum and while the band approves of this assessment, they liken themselves to a somewhat grittier composite of Little Big Town or Eric Church. Sons of Daughters have drawn enormous praise from music industry elites such as AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson; who was so impressed with their music, it prompted the quote “Your voices together sound like you came from the same womb.”Although Sons of Daughters was only conceived a short time ago, the duo are very well- acquainted with the music industry. Chrystal Leigh was signed to 604 Records/Universal fronting the band Jakalope; the Pop/Industrial brainchild of Dave Ogilvie (NIN, Marilyn Manson, Skinny Puppy). Jimmy Thow has fronted many bands of varying genres and expanded his notoriety as an in-demand songwriter; recently writing songs with Shawn Hook (Hollywood Records), Canadian Country music colleague Rod Black and Vancouver-based Pop band Faber Drive (604 Records/Warner).Sons of Daughters recently released their debut EP titled Pick Your Poison recorded at Armoury Studios in Vancouver; teaming up with legendary Grammy-nominated Mixer/Producer Mike Fraser (AC/DC/ Metallica/Aerosmith/Bryan Adams) and Juno/CCMA-nominated Writer/Producer Jeff Johnson (Wes Mack/Dallas Smith). The EP is a collection of six carefully crafted songs that each play like a storybook; whether it's the caliginous account of a distraught man declaring his sins to a bartender in “Drown a Memory”; or an escaped prisoner on the run in the adrenaline-inducing “Devil at My Heels”; Pick Your Poison is an instant winner that will have you stomping your feet and singing along to every song. The emotional exclamations of “Mercy Me” sung hauntingly over a faintly Celtic-styled guitar is just one of many magical moments gently woven within the poignant mandolin, exhilarating slide-guitar and harmonica heard throughout the record; which also features instrumental performances by Shaun Verreault (Wide Mouth Mason), Dane Deviller (The Corrs/Ray Charles) and Colin Nairne (Elvis Costello).Sons of Daughters look to carve out their own spot in the modern Country scene with their unique brand of infectious music; punctuated by swampy guitar riffs, evocative lyrics and flawless vocal harmonies.
Louis Zamperini is a USC Trojan Alumni, U.S. Olympian and World War II Prisoner of War survivor. As an inspiration to all, Louis is coming to share his story on staying courageous and strong in the face of adversity, building lasting relationships, witnessing over 9 decade of US and World history and what membership in the Trojan family has meant to him. His incredible life's journey has been documented in two books, one called "Unbroken" and written by the author of "Seabiscuit", Laura Hillenbrand. The story is on its way to becoming a Hollywood Universal film directed by actress, Angelina Jolie. This event in Bovard will consist of a short movie on his life followed by an in depth conversation with Louis himself and Q&A open to the audience. The opportunity to hear about survival, resilience and redemption from the hero himself is truly once in a lifetime. About Louis Zamperini Many people thought Louis Zamperini would not live long beyond his formative years, and on many occasions they were almost right. As a child of immigrants, Zamperini was often in trouble with the authorities in his home town of Torrance, until a police officer and older brother Pete suggested that he use his fleet feet for sport instead of mischief. By the end of high school, Louis had become a world class runner, setting a world high school record in the mile. He qualified to run on the 1936 Olympic team in Berlin, placing 8th in the 5000 meter and covering the final lap in an astounding 56 seconds - catching the attention of Hitler. Following the Games, he enrolled and competed for the University of Southern California (USC) as a part of many national record breaking teams. He and his brother were members of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. After graduation he elected to retire from the running sport and join the U.S. Air Corps as a bombardier in the South Pacific during World War II. On a routine reconnaissance run, his aircraft crashed into the Pacific Ocean, and Louis and another crew member survived in a life raft for 47 days, drifting 2000 miles into Japanese controlled waters. He was held by the Japanese as a Prisoner of War for two years. When the war ended, Louis returned to Torrance, California to a hero's welcome. Shortly after his return and finding spiritual enlightenment, he became a missionary to Japan, preaching the gospel of forgiveness to the very guards who had tormented him during the war. His book, "Devil at My Heels" was an astounding record of Louis' life. Louis created the Victory Boys Camp for wayward youth, where he teaches juvenile delinquents the skills to succeed in life.
