The Making of “Uncut” Magazine w/ Michael Bonner (Editor)

So, actually quite a personal episode for me this week. When I was 16 years old I started a media GNVQ at a local college, and during the first year there was a week allocated for work experience, so around June 2000 I spent a week working at Uncut magazine. My babysitter for that week was Michael Bonner, who in 2018 officially became the magazine's editor, after founder Allen Jones stepped down. I hadn't spoken to Michael since that week 24 years ago, so I was very curious to speak with him about what was such a formative experience for me, but probably a very average week in the office for him. I've also spent many years subscribed to Uncut magazine, and I thought it would be an interesting idea for an episode, to explore the making of a major music magazine. Michael was very generous with his time and we had good fun catching up. Instagram: @sendingsignalspodcast

Additionally, he presents three stories from Marijuana Moment, highlighting how medical marijuana is linked to reduced pain and lower opioid dependency in chronic pain patients, enhances the runner's high and reduces pain during exercise, and improves the quality of life for military veterans while reducing their prescription drug use. Produced by PodConx  Deadhead Cannabis Show - https://podconx.com/podcasts/deadhead-cannabis-showLarry Mishkin - https://podconx.com/guests/larry-mishkinRob Hunt - https://podconx.com/guests/rob-huntJay Blakesberg - https://podconx.com/guests/jay-blakesbergRecorded on Squadcast  July 31, 1971: Astronauts Drive on the Moon1971: Apollo 15 astronauts David Scott and James Irwin drive the Lunar Roving Vehicle on the surface of the moon. It's the first off-planet automobile ride. Rumor has it that sometime during the show, Jerry stopped playing, pointed to the moon, and said, “just think, right now there are men sleeping on THAT” Confession, I listened to almost the entire show and was not able to locate that moment so I cannot confirm Jerry said it, but it sounds like something he might say and either way is just another cool Dead story to pass along. INTRO:                Sugaree                           Track No. 3                           Start – 1:14                            Sugaree" is a song with lyrics by long-time Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter and music by guitaristJerry Garcia.[1] It was written for Jerry Garcia's first solo album Garcia, which was released in January 1972. As with the songs on the rest of the album, Garcia plays every instrument himself except drums, played by Bill Kreutzmann, including acoustic guitar, bass guitar, and an electric guitar played through a Leslie speaker. Released as a single from the Garcia album, "Sugaree" peaked at #94 on the Billboard Hot 100 in April 1972 and was Garcia's only single ever on that chart.[2]The song was first performed live by the Grateful Dead on July 31, 1971, at the Yale Bowl at Yale University,Even though it was on Jerry's solo album, it was clearly a Dead song from the start and here it is debuted by the Dead six months before the Garcia album's release. Maybe not the best version ever, but it is the first. Ultimately played 361 times by the Dead. Last played on July 8, 1995, the penultimate Dead show Always one of good buddy Mikey's favorite Dead songs, “What's shaking Sugaree?”.  Shout out to Mikey, Alex, Andy, Lynn, Harold who just saw Tedeschi Truck this past weekend at Red Rocks.  My wife and I had to miss it this year, but I know they all rocked out.  And, they were joined by Lori and Monte, more good Chicago friends, and Lori was part of the group at the Joanie Jam with Judy and Andy.  So lots of great musical cross relationships developing all the time.  THAT IS WHY WE GO TO SHOWS!   SHOW #1:                   Mr. Charlie                                    Track No. 4                                    Start – 1:15             This is also the breakout version of this song.  It was played a total of 50 times after its debut on 7/31/71 in New Haven, the same show at which Sugaree debuted. It was played at all 22 shows of the Europe '72 tour, including its last performance on May 26, 1972 at the Lyceum Ballroom in London, the last show of that famous tour. Lyrics by Robert Hunter, music by Pigpen.  It was Pig's song and as his time in the band dwindled, so did some of his tunes.  No post-Pig resurrection of the song by the band.Never released on a studio album, there are rumors of a planned album following Workingman's and American Beauty that would have included this song as well as Bertha, He's Gone, Loser, Brown Eyed Women, Ramble on Rose, Tennessee Jed, The Stranger (Two Souls in Communion), etc.  Might have even been enough tunes for a double album. Story is that the Dead abandoned it when they decided to get out of their Warner Bros. record deal. SHOW #2:          Hard to Handle                             Track No. 12                             Start – 1:06           "Hard to Handle" is a 1968 song written by American soul singer Otis Redding along with Al Bell and Allen Jones. Originally recorded by Redding, it was released in 1968 as the B-side to "Amen" (shortly after the singer's sudden death in 1967). The song also appears on the 1968 album The Immortal Otis Redding. Redding's version reached number 38 on the Billboard R&B chart and number 51 on the pop chart.[1]American rock band the Black Crowes covered the song for their 1990 debut album, Shake Your Money Maker, reaching number 26 on the Billboard Hot 100 with their rendition.Hard To Handle was performed by the Grateful Dead about 90 times between March 15, 1969 at the Black and White Ball, opened the show with it (The ball is the Bay Area's largest black-tie street party and a tradition since 1956 - a night for high society and just plain folks to mingle in gowns and tuxedoes around Civic Center Plaza to listen to music. ) and August 1971. It was subsequently performed only twice, on December 30 and 31, 1982, with Etta James taking the vocals and support from the Tower of Power horns.Another fun Pig lead that, like most of his other songs, died with him. SHOW #3:                  Sugar Magnolia                                    Track No. 24                                    3:10 – 4:23Still relatively new in the Dead's repertoire, I like the musical jam in this version and so does the crowd. We all know the lyrics but it is this kind of jamming that made this a Dead standard and favorite among Deadheads.  This version is still early enough that it appears in the middle of the second set, not yet having moved to its almost always spot as a second set closer.  Always sad when they get to the obvious set closer, but when it was Sugar Mag we all felt a lot better.   Notes from Deadheads mentioned this as one of the highlights of the show. SHOW #4:                  Darkness Jam                                    Track No. 28                                    0:56 – 2:06the 'Darkness' jam from the 1969 Youngbloods song, Darkness, Darkness which was done a few times in 1970; the most well-known version is in the 9/19/70 Not Fade Away where it's very clear. (They also do the China Cat riff in that NFA, which they did frequently (and at greater length) in the fall of 1971.). Played 4 times by the Dead in concert.  This is the LAST one. Darkness Darkness - Darkness, Darkness" is a song written by Jesse Colin Young in 1969, which has been covered by many artists. Young's band The Youngbloods released a version on their 1969 album Elephant Mountain. They released a version of the song as a single twice: in 1969, which reached #124 on the Billboard chart,[1] and in 1970, which reached #86 on the chart.[2] One of the various themed jams played by the Dead in their early years also including:Feelin' Groovy Jam - is basically four chords based on the 1966 Simon & Garfunkel song, and was frequently done in Dark Stars from '69-'72.Tighten Up Jam - The Tighten Up jam was a very common Latin-style jam theme in 1970. It's often called a proto-Eyes jam since Weir plays two repeating jazzy chords that are rhythmically similar to the opening of Eyes of the World; but they were commonly thought to be from Archie Bell & the Drells' 1968 tune.Mind Left Body Jam:      The Mind Left Body jam originated in the Planet Earth Rock n Roll Orchestra (PERRO) sessions (The Planet Earth Rock and Roll Orchestra (PERRO) is a nickname given to some artists who recorded together in the early 1970s.[1] They were predominantly members of Jefferson Airplane, the Grateful Dead, Quicksilver Messenger Service, and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young .[2] ), where we can hear an early, faster version of the four descending chords. Paul Kantner took this riff for his 1973 song 'Your Mind Has Left Your Body,' which Garcia played pedal steel on. Garcia in turn adapted it into a Grateful Dead theme, which first showed up on occasion in '72, but started regularly entering the jams in fall '73. It added a transcendental feeling to many shows up through '74Spanish Jam:       Weir based the Spanish Jam on the song 'Solea' on Miles Davis' album Sketches of Spain, sometime in late '67 when the Dead started recording Anthem of the Sun. As it was, a little bit of the Spanish Jam actually got on the album, in the form of a short Davis-flavored trumpet break from Phil in the middle of Born Cross-Eyed (after the verse, "Think I'll come back here again, every now and then, from time to time"). For a moment, it seems like Garcia and the band are about to break into the Spanish Jam, but they quickly cut back to the song.... OUTRO:       Uncle John's Band                        Track No. 30                        1:28 – 2:44             An early version of an all time classic.  Already a crowd favorite, clapping, sing along.  Can't go wrong with an Uncle John's Band at the end of a show – actually closed out with Johnny B. Goode – no encore.  Other great stories of this show at Yale, runs in with the cops, gate crashers, gallons of electric Kool Aid at the gates.  Just another typical Dead show, but at one of the country's most prestigious schools.  Even the Ivies loved the Dead.      Still working on stories John Mayer says goodbye:            “These tours with @deadandcompany exist on an almost otherworldly plane – everyone, on stage and in the crowd, meets up in this shared dream, and on the last night, after the final note is struck, we leave it all on the stage. We bow, we hug, we share our love for one another and then… we disappear. I fly through the dead of night and wake up at home, where my ears ring, my heart sings, and I'm left with this mix of fatigue, joy, accomplishment, and deep appreciation for what I was able to be a part of,” Mayer shared. “I can feel the connected, collective experience of thousands of others who wake up feeling the same. I'll never get over the profound beauty and uniqueness of this, and we'll never in our lifetime see the likes of @bobweir@mickeyhart and @billkreutzmann, playing beyond all perceived limitations and expectations. It's nothing short of remarkable. Thank you one and all for allowing me a seat on this transcendent ride. ”     “Dead & Company is still a band – we just don't know what the next show will be,” Mayer wrote on social media. “I speak for us all when I say that I look forward to being shown the next shaft of light… I know we will all move towards it together.”

Interlibrary loan (ILL) has a long and valued history, and today, it's more important than ever. Stagnant library budgets and increasing virtual learning environments, combined with the impact of the global pandemic, all increased the importance of borrowing and lending across libraries. While ILL services have expanded to include support for digital lending, a scalable solution does not yet exist for aggregated whole ebook lending. Supporting a shift to whole ebook lending offers an opportunity for publishers and libraries to collaborate on how best to address challenges and leverage the affordances of digital content and workflows. Join this discussion to hear from both academic librarians and publishers as they discuss the benefits and concerns surrounding ILL models and the opportunities presented by whole ebook lending. Early results and findings from a successful whole ebook ILL pilot will be shared. Songwriting retreats are life changing for songwriters. They are incredible for improving the craft of songwriting, networking, collaborating, opening doors, and so much more. I'm beyond excited to welcome Allen Jones and Shanik Hughes onto the show to chat all about songwriting retreats. The quote for this episode is by Andrea Stolpe: “This is where you can begin to create your tribe, your support system, and a community that will help you find the confidence to move towards your musical goals. There is a potential in every writer.” Allen, Shanik, and I met at Andrea's Nashville songwriting retreat in November of 2021. The retreat was magical, and the three of us share everything a songwriter should know about attending a retreat. We discuss what songwriters should consider before going to a retreat, why retreats are important for improving the craft of songwriting, co-writing, the benefits of song critiques, the community aspect of retreats, and so much more. Dirk Guidry – Lafayette Abstract and Live Event Artist, 2022 Festival International Official Visual Artist

Dirk Guidry, a Lafayette-based artist specializing in large-scale abstract art, live events, and mural paintings, joined Discover Lafayette to discuss his journey in becoming an artist who has evolved into a business entrepreneur.  A native of Galliano, Louisiana, Dirk graduated in 2012 from UL – Lafayette in Fine Arts with a concentration in painting. As a child who always enjoyed art, he was encouraged by family and teachers to cultivate his creativity in the talented and gifted program. He remembered fondly his first commissioned piece: he was hired to draw a portrait of his teacher's daughter for $5.00. Dirk entered UL-Lafayette thinking he wanted to be a computer animator or storyboard artist. But the process of rendering the art was all about the final product and that didn't sit well, so he says he "fell into painting." "The late Allen Jones served as a beloved professor and mentor of Dirk, and he "still hears him every day" as he works in the studio. Professor Jones had a nurturing and subtle style as he delivered his critiques, and he would let the students figure out for themselves how to improve upon their work. Dirk says, "He used to touch my paintings sometimes. One time before the critique I made sure the paint was still wet because I knew he was going to touch it. And sure enough, he hit the wet part with his pinky and he was taken aback because he never wanted to mess up anyone's painting. Needless to say, he never touched my paintings again!" Upon graduation, Dirk didn't really know how to get started as a professional artist. So, he worked multiple jobs in the service industry, and of course, at Painting With A Twist, while he showed his art at a few shows. He had a lucky break early on when his cousin was getting married and asked him if he knew about the "live wedding paintings" being done in New Orleans. He didn't know anything about it but agreed to do the job. This gig led to another, and after a few years, Dirk became well-known for his live event paintings and is in high demand these days. He says, "Even though it's about 8 to 9 hours of straight painting, it still feels like 10 minutes. I blink and it's over." Dirk Guidry has become a popular live events artist who paints with a fish-eye (wide angle) lens effect. He'll arrive a few hours before an event to paint the background of the venue and allow the paint to dry somewhat. Then, he paints as the event unfolds, capturing the people and fun happenings. "People, especially kids, love to watch me paint 'Bob Ross' style. It's highly entertaining and I love interacting with others." (Pictured work by Dirk Guidry is the Greater Southwest Mardi Gras Association's 2018 Queen and Maids celebrating at brunch.) Dirk now averages about 35 live events per year. "That's basically my day job." The live event work affords him the opportunity to earn enough to do what he calls his 'studio work,' the opportunity to craft large abstract pieces of art, as well as to have the opportunity to take time off. He has been hired to travel for an event as far away as Cabo San Lucas and gets a good deal of work in Florida and Texas. The tough part about being an artist is having to have tough skin and learn to handle rejection. Dirk has always wanted to be selected as the Festival International Visual Artist and has applied every year for several years. He jokes that along with those rejections he also filed many others in his "We regret to inform you" email folder. Yet Dirk persisted, and in this 36th year Festival is to be celebrated, he was named the 2022 Official Visual Artist and will produce the collectible festival poster and pin. His official work will be revealed on February 20, 2022, from 3 to 5 pm, at Warehouse 535, at the Festival's Official Kickoff Party. Tickets are only $10 and include live music by Bucks and a Louisiana Fish Fry. The piece submitted by Dirk Guidry to the Festival judges was a 4 by 5-foot self-portrai...

What would The Beatles' 1 album sound like if The Beatles never existed? What? That makes no sense. I did this show as a tribute to how every song they wrote (almost) was enduring and solid enough to be covered by their contemporaries as well as artists of the future.    The Kids From The Brady Bunch - Love Me Do (1972) This was the album on which "It's A Sunshine Day", "Keep On", and "Drummer Man" appeared. I guess you could call this album their Rubber Soul.  The Crickets - From Me To You (1964) At this point, The Crickets consisted of Sonny Curtis, Jerry Allison, Glen Hardin, and Jerry Naylor. Arranged by Leon Russell. Curtis would later write and sing the theme song for The Mary Tyler Moore Show, "Love Is All Around". He wrote two other songs POACA know. "I Fought The Law", originally recorded by Bobby Vee (who replaced The Crickets on the bill the night Buddy Holly died), and "More Than I Can Say" which was a huge hit years later for Leo Sayer.  Brenda Lee - She Loves You (1965) The Beatles had acted as a support act for Brenda Lee when she headlined a gig at the Star Club in Hamburg, West Germany, in 1962. For any other artist of the time, that must have seemed like the toppermost of the poppermost. The year before this, she recorded "Is It True" featuring Jimmy Page on guitar.  Sparks - I Wanna Hold Your Hand (1975) Produced by Tony Visconti, who also produced Bowie's Berlin trilogy. I cannot listen to Sparks for very long. I think the people who love them have some sort of soul deficiency. But for completion's sake, here.  David Clayton-Thomas - Can't Buy Me Love (1975) I think this was his last solo album before rejoining Blood, Sweat and Tears. Whew. Hard to believe this was never issued on CD.  After he rejoined, or maybe BECAUSE he rejoined, but more likely due to those old contractual obligations, their next two albums with him would be credited to Blood Sweat and Tears - Featuring David Clayton-Thomas. Did it make one damned bit of difference? It did not.  John Mayall - A Hard Day's Night (1976) The Beatles were deceptively excellent singers. This comes into evidence when others try to ape their recordings. Produced by Allen Toussaint, who wrote the entire record except for this one track. This album charted nowhere.  The Runaways - Eight Days a Week (1978) The Runaways were pretty limited instrumentalists. This is another deceptively difficult song to carry off. I don't think it's very good.  Alma Cogen - I Feel Fine (1967) "I'm so glad...he's got me in a whirl..." This recording was released posthumously a year after her death from leukemia. It is speculated that she had an affair with John Lennon, who shagged everything not tied down or named Cynthia at that point. Because he could.  Bee Gees - Ticket To Ride (1965) Released in 1970 without the consent of the group... but only in Germany, France, and Japan. The brothers didn't even know about it until they found it in a Swiss record store after the fact. They should have waited 7 more years. They would have made a mint.  Dolly Parton - Help! (1979) The bassist, Abe Laboriel, saw his son become Paul McCartney's drummer.  Marvin Gaye - Yesterday (1969) His next album was What's Going On.  Yellow Magic Orchestra - Day Tripper (1979)  Progress Organization - We Can Work It Out (1971) A Czech rock group. A little like Vanilla Fudge. They released exactly one album. This was on it. Aren't you happy I am here to do this stuff?  Kenny Rogers & The First Edition - Paperback Writer (1973) "If you really like it, you can help me write..." I imagine after this Kenny Rogers asked for his deposit on the practice room returned. This album was a soundtrack of their TV show of the time. I cannot tell if Thelma Camacho is on this record. I played a set of her solo stuff on one of my shows. It's awful.  Revelation - Yellow Submarine (1980) Sounds like Chic. Almost a carbon copy.  The Singers Unlimited - Eleanor Rigby (1977) A pretty cool reinvention of this excellent song. From Wikipedia: Gene Puerling took advantage of cutting-edge, multi-tracking techniques of German studio engineer Hans Georg Brunner-Schwer to create his harmonic concepts and the group's signature sound. In the overdubbing process, baritone Puerling and tenor Shelton would often add two additional middle parts, after which all parts were "doubled" and "tripled." Creating these extra tracks created the fuller, richer sound of the group's recordings. The group would record their songs by having Bonnie Herman record a simplified version of the melody, after which, Len, Gene, and Don would fill in the remaining parts. Once this process had been completed, Bonnie Herman's original melodic line would be replaced with a new one, in which she could add melodic embellishments and add "color" to the group's sound. Bass singer Len Dresslar was known as the voice of the Jolly Green Giant ("Ho, Ho, Ho!") for over 40 years, as well as the voice behind other jingles.  Bonnie Herman was the singer of the original "Like a Good Neighbor, State Farm Is There" commercial jingle, which ran for several years. She is the daughter of Lawrence Welk's original Champagne Lady Lois Best and Jules Herman, who was a trumpeter in the Welk orchestra. She is the niece of big band leader Woody Herman. Amen Corner - Penny Lane (1969) Amen Corner was a Welsh R&B-tinged pop band of the late '60s featuring singer Andy Fairweather-Low, organist Blue Weaver, guitarist Neil Jones, bassist Clive Taylor, saxophonists Allen Jones and Mike Smith, and drummer Dennis Bryon. You remember Dennis and Blue as two rock-steady members of that wonderful Bee Gees incarnation of the mid-to-late '70s.  The Anita Kerr Singers - All You Need is Love (1967) Another song that seems very simple, but without the dotted eight notes, it sounds like your rich Aunt is reading you a book. I like the touches of electric guitar.  François Glorieux - Hello, Goodbye (1977) This song translates unexpectedly well to slow classical piano...That caveman in the lower-left corner was a hidden member of The Beatles named Oook.  v Buck Owens - Lady Madonna (1976)  Brothers Johnson - Hey Jude (1976) You should know, if you do not, about an album released in 1976 called "All This and World War II". The soundtrack made money but the movie tanked.  Get Back - Clarence Reid (1969) Reid had the talent and chops to be as big as Otis Redding or Wilson Pickett, but he became more popular doing dirty parodies of soul hits (“S–ting off the Dock of the Bay,” “What a Difference a Lay Makes?”) with his XXX-rated alter-ego Blowfly.  The Percy Faith Strings - The Ballad of John and Yoko (1970) Squaresville! Isaac Hayes - Something (1970) All 11 minutes of it.  Willie Bobo and The Bo Gents - Come Together (1971) Aretha Franklin - Let It Be (1970) Maybe the best of all of these. Aretha made some shitty choices, but she was an angel in front of a mic.  Peter Frampton - The Long and Winding Road (1978) This happened. We all traipsed down to the theater in anticipation of some connection, some meaningful validation of what looked like a miracle about to happen. I cannot lie. When Billy Preston popped out of that statue or whatever, I felt pretty let down.  The Hollies - Draggin' My Heels (1977)

Russell & Robert meet artist Wong Ping at Camden Arts Centre, London for a special tour around his solo exhibition 'Heart Digger'. Wong Ping creates digital and sculptural works that reveal very human, often universal fantasies, through absurd narratives. Drawing from his own social encounters, he elaborates his stories into dark humorous tales that touch on political and cultural anxieties. Digitally rendered in a seductive technicolour language, they recall the modernism of Fernand Leger, the pop language of Tom Wesselman or Allen Jones, and the design aesthetic of The Memphis Group and early 1980s video games. These simple but seductive animations also disguise a deeper critique of technology.Wong Ping is the inaugural recipient of Camden Art Centre’s new Emerging Artist Prize at Frieze (2018). The Prize was established in collaboration with Frieze Art Fair, as part of Camden Arts Centre’s commitment to nurturing and celebrating the most innovative artists of the moment, who have yet to receive the recognition their work deserves. The annual prize awards an artist exhibiting in the Focus section of Frieze London with an exhibition at Camden Art Centre. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

And you must know this name, Michael Chow(Chinese name: Zhou Yinghua), who is probably one of the most passionate Chinese about Peking Opera by interest or by fate.Chow's father was Zhou Xinfang, one of China's most famous actors and the leading figure at the Peking Opera of his time early last century. But Chow was never able to take up his father's career as he was sent to a British boarding school when he was 12 and grew up in Europe. He studied art in London before setting out on a business career that lasted for about 50 years.Michael Chow has been working hard and earned his name in the west as a restaurateur running a chain of high end restaurants providing authentic Chinese food in different locations around the world with the name "Chow".But Chow said deep in his heart he is an artist, and all he has been doing is to reconnect with his father and his home country China. After 47 years of running the restaurant business, Chow restarted his painting career in recent years, and had exhibitions in various places. Voices From Other Lands found him when he is preparing his first exhibition on the Chinese Mainland in 798, an art district in Beijing. We sat down and talked for his "magnificent obsessions."Michael Chow had ten years of professional training in painting at youth, and later focused on his restaurant business. Chow designed Mr. Chow, the first restaurant, in London featuring cool green floor tiles and white walls, and later bought art by Allen Jones, Peter Blake, Patrick Caulfield, David Hockney and Jim Dine for the walls. But Michael Chow said his restaurants have always been underlined by his desire and need to promote the Chinese culture. The passion for painting has been there and finally was turned into action. Michael Chow continues the Qi Style that was started by his father Zhou Xinfang, a leading figure at the Peking Opera. Through years, Chow realized the Qi Style is not a performance but a method of life. By good fortune, he said after a 50-year radical sabbatical, he returned to painting in the school of Qi. And now he is a self-commissioned ambassador in promoting the great art forms in the Chinese culture, Peking Opera in particular. In doing so, it's brought him closer to his father. When it comes to the 120th celebration of his father's birth, he said he has finally fulfilled that void.

Rose Tremain's latest book is a collection of short stories called The American Lover; how does her shorter fiction compare to her full length work? Benedict Cumberbatch plays the WWII cryptographer and code-breaker Alan Turing in The Imitation Game. Also starring Kiera Knightley, it tells the tale of the team of British maths geniuses who cracked the Nazi's Enigma Code. How successfully does it breathe new life into the biography of a private and secretive man? Roy Williams' new play Wildefire, directed by Maria Aberg, opens at London's Hampstead Theatre. It deals with 'the precarious world of modern policing'; how does a good copper stay good when her world turns nasty? British artist Allen Jones is probably best known for three works he created 45 years ago; Hat Stand, Table and Chair. A new exhibition at London's Royal Academy is a look back at his career - including pop art from the 60s, through figurative sculpture to his painted steel sculptures. But do accusations that his early work demeans women still hold sway in the more broadminded 21st century? Michael Palin returns to a British TV series for the first time in 2 decades in Remember Me on BBC1; a supernatural thriller set in Yorkshire - who is to blame for a series of mysterious deaths? Razia Iqbal's guests are Elif Shafak, Patrick Gale and Miranda Carter. The producer is Oliver Jones.
