Kinsella on Liberty Podcast: Episode 453. I was approached recently by my old friend, legal scholar and philosopher David Koepsell (a fellow opponent of IP who appeared on the John Stossel show with me a few years back), (( KOL308 | Stossel: It's My Idea (2015). )) as one of his students at Texas A&M, Eliot Kalinov, was interested in my and Hoppe's work on argumentation ethics and related issues. I offered to have a discussion with Eliot about these issues for his research and publication plans, which we did yesterday (Feb. 18, 2025). We recorded it for his own purposes, and I post it here, with his permission, for those who might find the topics discussed of interest. He is very bright and asked very intelligent questions. We discuss mainly the topics noted in the title of this episode. https://youtu.be/2vjVNAF0JUA
Jonah Bechtolt and Claire L. Evans of the genre-defying band, YACHT, dropped in to FNM HQ with Director, Kailee McGee (CAN), to talk about making a music video for their song My Idea. We also cover our favorite all-time music videos, movie-music moments, and the Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai across the 8th Dimension. Shai also pleads with YACHT to become their new best friend because they are the coolest. (Kailee McGee already having attained the coolest status had previously agreed to be friends during her earlier SXSW interview... so don't worry about Shai's feelings too much). Nate Amos (Water From Your Eyes) & Lily Konigsberg (Palberta) have come together to form My Idea! The duo pulled up to My Little Underground to talk up their debut EP, 'That's My Idea' on Hardly Art Records. Nate and Lily reveal their future plans for the group such as a full length album, a possible country album as well as a tour! Both Nate and Lily have other projects that have albums released or have one on they way in 2021. Nate is one half of Water From Your Eyes with a new album, 'Structure' out 8/27 and Lily already released an album with Palberta this year in 'Palberta 5000'. I wonder if they feel overworked by adding My Idea to their list of many projects? My Idea is that the more supportive of others I am, perhaps I will open the space for people to be supportive of me. Even better, perhaps I will see how people are already supportive of me. This idea is peaking as I have insecurities around sending supportive emails to people I don't really know. And I throw in some stuff on projecting my crap onto others, being open to alt spiritual ideas, not knowing others paths, etc. Show notes:Frustrated with friends that aren't supportive of me. And how I could better support others, and not from a critical standpoint. My standpoint/lens is 34 years of recovery. Be open to the idea of infinite ways to grow… After 34 years I finally order the Varieties of Religious Experience. Distracted by all the radio controlled cars n planes n stuff. Just because it is not in my frame of reference does not mean that it is not real. Seemed like Matt and I were talking about spiritual experiences but in different languages I think. I want that kind of an email. It's time to be supportive of people and the people that can be supportive of me will show up, so embrace that. Or maybe I can now start hearing people as being supportive. Start podcasting!
