What if your productivity problem is not really about productivity? In this episode of Your Passion, Purpose and Personal Brand, Lisa McGuire explores why so many high-achieving entrepreneurs, leaders, and professionals keep reaching for better systems, stronger discipline, and more optimization—when the real issue may be identity. After a book club conversation about productivity, Lisa realized the people in the room were not struggling with time management. They were struggling with deeper questions: Who am I when I stop performing? What if the success I worked so hard for no longer feels meaningful? What if the version of me that built this life no longer fits? Lisa unpacks why self-knowledge is becoming one of the most valuable assets in business, leadership, personal branding, and the future of work. As AI makes information more abundant and execution easier to replicate, your lived perspective becomes the thing no one else can copy. You'll learn why the "Category of ONLY" is not a branding trick, but an identity concept that helps you name the clear, ownable difference your life has already built in you. This episode is for the successful person who looks productive on the outside but feels restless, misaligned, or quietly disconnected on the inside. In this episode, you'll learn: Why productivity struggles often point to identity questions The hidden cost of performance-driven success Why optimization cannot fix a life that no longer fits How self-knowledge becomes a business advantage What makes your lived perspective irreplaceable Why your Category of ONLY is uncovered, not invented Maybe the real work right now is not becoming more impressive. The Loneliness Beneath Performance: When Success No Longer Feels Like Belonging with Lisa McGuire

There is a kind of loneliness high achievers rarely admit. It does not always come from being alone. Sometimes it shows up when your calendar is full, your business is working, your title still earns respect, and everyone around you assumes you are fine. But underneath the performance, something feels disconnected. In this episode of Your Passion, Purpose and Personal Brand, Lisa McGuire explores the quiet loneliness that can emerge when an old identity, role, room, or definition of success no longer fits. She names the "Identity Eclipse" — the in-between season when the world still relates to who you were, while another version of you is beginning to emerge. This conversation is for entrepreneurs, founders, leaders, and high performers who look successful on the outside but feel the gap widening between what still functions and what actually nourishes them. Lisa shares a personal story of returning to a networking room from an earlier chapter of business and realizing, without drama or bitterness, "this is no longer my room." From there, she unpacks why traditional personal branding can become another form of performance, and why true visibility begins with knowing your Category of ONLY™ — the unique combination of lived experience, essence, perspective, and impact no one else can replicate. In this episode, you'll explore: Why success can still feel lonely What the "Identity Eclipse" is and how to recognize it Why old rooms, roles, and relationships may stop fitting The difference between performance-based branding and authentic identity How your Category of ONLY™ helps you stop shape-shifting for approval Why real belonging begins when you stop abandoning yourself The loneliness you feel may not mean something is wrong with you. It may mean something inside you is no longer willing to stay disconnected from the truth. Listen now if you are navigating a shift in business, leadership, identity, or visibility — and you are ready to stop performing certainty long enough to hear what your next chapter is asking from you. From Performance to Presence: The Identity Shift High Achievers Can't Ignore with Lisa McGuire

What happens when the version of you that built your success starts feeling too small for who you are becoming?  In this reflective episode of Your Passion, Purpose & Personal Brand, Lisa McGuire pauses after the Identity Evolution Series to name what so many high-achieving founders, executives, and leaders have been quietly carrying: the feeling that outward success no longer tells the whole truth. This is not an episode about being broken. It is about recognition. Lisa reflects on the messages she received throughout the series, especially the recurring confession: "I thought this was just me." She shares her own realization that even while teaching identity evolution, she was still editing herself in real time by softening, translating, and arranging her truth for acceptance. That recognition became a turning point: less proof and more presence. If you have been successful on the outside while privately wondering, "Is this still actually mine?" this episode gives language to the quiet reckoning. It explores why identity shifts often arrive subtly, why presence is more powerful than performance, and why your perspective, discernment, and lived pattern recognition matter more than ever in a world shaped by AI, uncertainty, and constant change. Key Takeaways Many successful people quietly question their direction and assume they are alone. Identity shifts often begin as restlessness, flatness, or "quiet wrongness," not dramatic crisis. Performance may create acceptance, but presence creates connection. True authority does not need to explain itself into credibility. Before reinvention or strategy, you have to tell yourself the truth about where you are. The Identity Evolution Series may land differently when you revisit it, because you are different now. Your Category of ONLY™ begins when you stop managing how you are received. The next chapter is not about becoming someone else. It is about letting the truest part of you lead. Read Online“I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for the ones you have given me, because they are yours, and everything of mine is yours and everything of yours is mine, and I have been glorified in them.” John 17:9–10Though the Church has traditionally summarized sin under the seven capital sins, sin is also understood to arise from three primary sources: the flesh, the world, and the devil. The “flesh” refers to the disordered desires and passions that stem from our fallen human nature. The “world” signifies the societal values, materialism, and secular ideologies that promote a lifestyle contrary to God's will. The “devil” represents the personal, spiritual adversary who seeks to lead us astray through deception, lies, and the stirring of sinful desires. These three sources constantly seek to undermine our relationship with God.We are called to resist these temptations and remain firm in faith. This is accomplished by relying on grace to silence these sources. The flesh is subdued and moderated by the virtue of temperance, the devil is overcome as we discern the voice of God, and the world is overcome by seeking the true glory to which we are called. It is this third source, and its remedy, that Jesus particularly addresses in today's passage. This prayer concludes Jesus' Last Supper Discourse and is prayed just before He goes to the Garden of Gethsemane, where His Passion begins with His arrest. These final words of Jesus encapsulate the ultimate purpose of life. Within this prayer, He prays to His Father, “Now glorify me, Father, with you, with the glory that I had with you before the world began” (John 17:5).From a human perspective, we naturally desire glory. However, from a worldly perspective, earthly “glory” is a temptation, as it leads us to seek the praise of creatures over the glory that God desires to bestow. Jesus does not dismiss the value of glory; He simply points to its true source—the Father. Jesus' glory does not originate from human praise. His glory stems from His perfect fulfillment of the Father's will, offering Himself as the one and only Sacrifice for sins. Through His Passion, He is glorified by the Father in His human nature and manifests the glory He has always enjoyed as the eternal Son of God. He will continue to manifest this glory for all eternity.Though Jesus begins this prayer for Himself, He quickly includes “the ones you have given me”—His disciples, and ultimately, everyone who will come to believe in Him through them, including us. His prayer is for all who are united to Jesus and the Father, pointing out that Jesus is glorified in them because they fulfill His will and continue His mission, which results in our participation in His eternal glory. This passage beautifully illustrates that the attainment of worldly glory and recognition pales in comparison to the true glory we are invited to share. We are called to participate in Jesus' own glory, the eternal glory He shares with the Father. We do this by being united to Him in His earthly mission of living sacrificial love, which manifests His glory—the true glory for which we long. Reflect today on your natural desire for glory. God places this desire in us, but the values of the fallen world tempt us to seek a passing glory bestowed by others' opinions. The only way to fulfill the desire for true glory is to unite ourselves to Christ, including His Passion and death, so as to receive the glory bestowed upon Him by the Father. This is why martyrdom, the ultimate act of sacrificial love, is considered glorious. It is the highest expression of participation in Christ's own suffering, which manifested His glory. Sacrifice, selflessness, virtue, and perfect conformity to Christ all lead us into this eternal glory. Living transformed in Christ bestows that glory here and now. When we die, we will enjoy forever in heaven the level of glory we participated in on earth. Seek glory—true glory—and you will find that your natural desires are fulfilled by supernatural grace. Lord of all glory, with Your Father, You are eternally glorified, and the glory bestowed upon You by the Father from all eternity shines forth. You invite us to share in Your glory by sharing in the earthly means by which that glory was manifested—Your Passion. May I always seek this holy and pure glory above that which the world offers, so as to share in it forever in Heaven with You and all the saints. Friday of the Sixth Sunday of Easter - Temporary or Eternal?

Read Online“When a woman is in labor, she is in anguish because her hour has arrived; but when she has given birth to a child, she no longer remembers the pain because of her joy that a child has been born into the world. So you also are now in anguish. But I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.” John 16:21–22When we live fully united to Christ, we can endure anguish with confidence and determination. Without Christ, even small, temporary trials become so burdensome that we tend to avoid them. Though trials are not desirable in themselves, God permits them to strengthen us in virtue and prepare us for eternity. The anguish that accompanies them is temporary, but the victory over them is eternal. If we refuse to endure the temporary, we risk losing the eternal. Our Gospel illustrates this point well. The purpose of pregnancy is to cooperate with God's creative power and to bring forth into the world a precious new soul who will exist for all eternity. What a joy it is for parents to learn of their pregnancy, endure the nine months and the labor, hold their newborn child, and accompany that child throughout life and into Heaven. In order to give birth to that child, the woman must endure labor pains. These pains are not desirable or sought for their own sake, but a woman willingly endures them as a necessary condition for the great joy of new life. Afterward, a loving mother does not regret having a baby because the labor was painful. The joy of holding her newborn is so rewarding that it puts the pain in perspective.Just as a woman willingly endures labor pains for the joy of new life, we too must embrace temporary trials to receive eternal blessings. Trials are a consequence of Original Sin. In the beginning, God did not will that trials would be part of our lives. After the Fall, many forms of trials entered human existence. To enable us to overcome these trials, the Son of God took on flesh and overcame everything we endure. Therefore, when we face trials, God looks at us and invites us to follow His example: to carry our crosses with His strength, to do what He already did. When Jesus told His Apostles, “So you also are now in anguish,” He was speaking not only to them but also to us. Jesus was fully aware of the anguish the Apostles would endure through His coming Passion, and He is fully aware of every anguish we will endure. His awareness is active, offering hope: “I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.” This is His promise to each of us as we confidently endure the trials of life. Our endurance will lead to eternal joy, for we will share in the victory of Christ's Resurrection. Reflect today on whether you are willing to endure the anguish of temporary trials so as to share in the eternal blessing that will come after. Are you living for what is temporary or eternal? Do you avoid trials out of fear, or do you embrace them with trust in Christ's promise? Reflect on how you might unite your daily struggles with His Passion and seek His grace to persevere. Turn to Jesus, Who has already endured every trial and triumphed, and imitate Him so that you share in His victory and rejoice with Him for all eternity. My determined Lord, You fully aligned Your will with the Father's by embracing the great anguish caused by Your Passion and exhorted Your disciples to imitate You. You call me to do the same. Please give me the grace and wisdom I need to keep my eyes on the eternal and glorious end to which I am called, so that I can endure every temporary anguish with joy and hope. In this episode of Your Passion, Purpose and Personal Brand, Lisa McGuire explores the quiet experience so many high achievers live through but rarely know how to name: being successful on the outside while feeling disconnected, misaligned, or unsure what comes next on the inside. This conversation is for the person who has thought: "Why doesn't this feel the way I thought it would?" "I should be grateful, so why do I feel so off?" "I don't know what comes next, but I know this no longer fits." Lisa walks through the deeper pressures that surface when life no longer fits, work no longer fits, or positioning no longer fits. She names the grief of outgrowing an old identity, the loneliness of being seen too narrowly, and the exhaustion of carrying two versions of yourself at once. She also introduces the idea of being Successfully Stuck: when the identity that built your success may no longer be the one meant to lead your next chapter. This is not a conversation about blowing up your life. It is a conversation about telling yourself the truth before misalignment gets louder. Strategic Identity Stability: How to Hold Who You Are Under Pressure with Lisa McGuire

Your Passion, Purpose and Personal Brand

There's a moment after clarity arrives when something unexpected happens: you lose it. Not because it disappeared. Not because you were wrong. But because pressure challenged it. In this episode of Your Passion, Purpose and Personal Brand, Lisa McGuire continues the Identity Evolution Series with a powerful conversation about Strategic Identity Stability. It's the ability to stay connected to who you are when it would be easier to adjust, soften, perform, or return to an older version of yourself. This episode is for the entrepreneur, leader, or high-performing professional who has already done the work to see something true about themselves, but still finds themselves second-guessing in certain rooms, walking back what they really think, or leaving conversations wondering, "Why didn't I just hold that?" Lisa explores why clarity alone is not enough. The deeper work is learning to remain steady in your identity when pressure shows up. Because growth does not erase old reflexes. The version of you that built your success still knows how to keep you safe. It still knows how to belong. And sometimes, even after you know who you are becoming, you may still reach for the identity that once protected you. This is not failure. It is the practice of stability. You'll hear why exhaustion often comes from trying to live from two identities at once, why imposter syndrome and visibility reluctance may be signs of an identity shift, and how awareness helps you return to yourself faster. Because the real question is not simply, "Who am I?" The real question is: Can I stay in who I am here? Key Takeaways Clarity is important, but stability is what allows you to live from that clarity. Pressure often reveals where your old identity still has reflexes. You may feel exhausted because you are trying to stay loyal to an identity you have already outgrown. Strategic Identity Stability is not perfection; it is the ability to return to yourself faster. The work is not always getting clearer. Sometimes the work is staying with what you already know. Noticing the moment you adjust, soften, or hold back is the beginning of building identity stability. Once you can hold who you are under pressure, you stop managing perception and begin creating from who you are. Why is it so hard to articulate your value, even when you know you have it? In this episode of Your Passion, Purpose & Personal Brand, Lisa McGuire explores the hidden reason so many leaders, entrepreneurs, and high performers struggle with personal brand clarity, self-worth, and authentic self-expression during seasons of growth and reinvention. The issue is not a lack of talent, expertise, or value. More often, it is the internal pattern of still trying to prove what is already true. This conversation is part of Lisa's Identity Evolution Series and speaks directly to anyone navigating an identity shift, leadership transition, career reinvention, or personal brand transformation. If you have outgrown a role that once defined you, feel successful but unfulfilled, or find yourself over-explaining instead of clearly owning your value, this episode will help you understand what is happening beneath the surface. Lisa introduces the concept of the Category of ONLY™, a powerful framework for recognizing your unique value proposition. Rather than focusing on competition or forced differentiation, she explains how true clarity comes from identifying the intersection of your lived experience, learned wisdom, and the insight only you can bring. This is not about creating a better image. It is about reclaiming your identity and trusting what you already know. Through personal reflection and clear teaching, Lisa names the subtle habits that keep people stuck: self-editing, softening their perspective, shaping their message for acceptance, and continuing to seek external proof. She also reveals the deeper shift that must happen before you can confidently communicate your value, strengthen your personal brand, and fully step into your next chapter. In this episode, you'll learn: Why articulating your value is difficult when you are still trying to prove your worth How identity shift affects confidence, clarity, messaging, and leadership presence The signs you have outgrown a role, title, or version of success Why high achievers often struggle with self-worth and authentic expression What the Category of ONLY™ means and how it helps define your unique value How to stop over-explaining and start communicating from ownership Why personal brand clarity starts with identity, not strategy What it looks like to reclaim your voice during reinvention and transition How to trust your own perspective without waiting for more validation Why the next level of your work begins when you stop negotiating with what you know is true This episode is especially relevant for: Entrepreneurs building a personal brand Leaders in transition High performers navigating reinvention Professionals seeking clarity in their next chapter Anyone ready to stop proving and start owning their value If you've been searching for answers around how to articulate your value, personal brand clarity, identity evolution, authentic leadership, or reclaiming self-worth, this episode offers a grounded and powerful starting point. What happens when the very habits, strategies, and identity that built your success stop working the way they used to? In this episode of Your Passion, Purpose & Personal Brand, Lisa McGuire explores a pivotal leadership moment many high-achievers experience but rarely name: the point where working harder no longer creates the momentum it once did. This is not failure. It is an identity shift. As part 5 of the Identity Evolution Series, Lisa walks through the internal turning point that comes after disruption, misalignment, and reinvention. She shares personal insight into her own "reckoning week," where she began to see the places she had been softening herself to belong, performing instead of fully expressing what was true. From there, she unpacks the deeper leadership evolution required when authentic presence starts demanding more than performance ever could. This episode is for leaders, entrepreneurs, and high-performers who feel that something is changing beneath the surface. You are still capable. Still respected. Still producing results. But what once felt natural now feels forced. Lisa names that shift with clarity and shows why true leadership transformation happens at the level of identity, not strategy. Key themes in this episode: Why high-achievers reach a point where old strategies stop working The difference between performance and authentic presence What it means to outgrow the identity that created your success Why leadership changes first at the level of identity How to begin trusting what you can see before others do The role of self-trust in your next season of growth Standout quote: "You can't outperform this moment. There is a moment in growth that rarely looks dramatic from the outside. Your work still functions. Your reputation still holds. People still know you for the thing you've always been known for. But somewhere underneath all of that, something no longer fits the same way it used to. What once felt aligned now feels incomplete. What once felt like a true expression of who you are now feels like only part of the story. In this episode of Your Passion, Purpose & Personal Brand, Lisa McGuire names that moment with unusual clarity. She calls it Reinvention Ridge - the threshold where your current identity still works, but no longer feels like the fullest truth of who you are. It is not failure. It is not collapse. And it is not a sign that you have lost your way. It is the moment before your next identity fully emerges. This episode is especially resonant for leaders, entrepreneurs, and high-capacity professionals who have built real success, only to realize that the role that created that success may no longer reflect who they are becoming. Lisa explores the subtle internal shift that happens when you are no longer fully at home in your old identity, but you do not yet have language for the new one. That in-between place can feel disorienting, but it is also deeply revealing. Rather than pushing for quick answers or performative reinvention, Lisa offers a steadier approach. She helps listeners recognize the signs of identity evolution already happening beneath the surface. She invites you to notice where you are still being seen for something you have already outgrown, where you are still performing instead of expressing, and where your experience may be preparing you for a deeper kind of authority. This conversation is a grounded reflection on success, truth, identity, and the quiet courage it takes to remain present when clarity has not fully arrived. If you have been sensing a change you cannot yet explain, this episode will help you understand why that feeling matters - and why it may be more trustworthy than you think. Read OnlineMany of the Jews who had come to Mary and seen what Jesus had done began to believe in him. But some of them went to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done. So the chief priests and the Pharisees convened the Sanhedrin and said, “What are we going to do? This man is performing many signs. If we leave him alone, all will believe in him, and the Romans will come and take away both our land and our nation.” John 11:45–48Tomorrow we begin Holy Week with Palm Sunday, commemorating Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem. Today's Gospel recounts events shortly after Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, which took place in Bethany, near Jerusalem—just days before He would ride into the city on a donkey, greeted with shouts of “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” (John 12:13).During the final months of His life, Jesus often stayed out of the public eye to avoid those plotting His death. However, He briefly emerged to perform His final recorded miracle: raising Lazarus from the dead. This miracle became the decisive moment that prompted the Pharisees to actively plot against Him. Some witnesses reported it to the authorities, and the Sanhedrin feared Jesus' growing popularity would provoke a Roman persecution upon the Jews. At the high priest Caiaphas' suggestion, they decided it was better for Jesus to die than for the nation to suffer. As high priest, Caiaphas spoke prophetically—even unknowingly—about Jesus' death, saying, “It is better for you that one man should die instead of the people, so that the whole nation may not perish” (John 11:49–50). Commenting on this, Saint Augustine teaches: “This passage shows that the Spirit of prophecy can even work through wicked people to reveal future events” (Tractate 49 on the Gospel of John).Knowing that God's omnipotent power can use even evil actions to accomplish His divine plan should console us when we encounter injustice or malice in our own lives. Jesus was never a victim of circumstance; He remained in full control of His mission. At His arrest, He reminded His disciples: “Do you think that I cannot call upon my Father, and He will not provide me at this moment with more than twelve legions of angels?” (Matthew 26:53).Jesus could have commanded the angels to overthrow the Sanhedrin and the Roman authorities, taking His place as an earthly king by force. But instead, He chose to submit to the Father's will, allowing the malice of Caiaphas to set His Passion in motion. Though Caiaphas acted with selfish intent, God, in His providence, used this evil act to advance His plan of salvation for all who would turn to Him in faith. This insight is essential as we enter the “Holy Weeks” of our lives—those times of trial, suffering, or injustice that we do not always fully understand. When we encounter crosses, it is easy to see them as obstacles to joy and peace. But Romans 8:28 reminds us: “All things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to His purpose.” Every cross, injustice, or hardship is within God's providential care, just as Holy Week was. When we trust Him, even the evil we experience can be transformed into a path toward God's glory and for our good.Reflect today on the perfect wisdom of God's plan, which used even the sins of wicked people to bring about salvation. Consider any crosses, sufferings, or injustices you currently face. Instead of giving in to anger or despair, have faith that God can use them for good. If you remain in God's grace, trust that whatever He permits in your life is an expression of His almighty power and love, working all things for His glory and your good. Just as Jesus set His face toward Jerusalem, knowing that great suffering awaited Him, so too must we turn our eyes to our own “Jerusalem”—to the challenges and difficulties we encounter—and trust that God will work all things for good. All-powerful Lord, nothing deterred You from fulfilling Your Father's will. Your mission was to save many souls and to do so through the instrumentality of both the good and the wicked. Evil was conquered because You, in Your goodness, drew even greater good from it. Please help me to imitate You and to participate in Your glorious victory over sin and death by uniting every injustice and suffering I endure with Your Passion so as to achieve Your glory and victory in my life. Jesus, I trust in You.  Image: The Judgment of the Sanhedrin: He is Guilty! by  Nikolai GeSource: Free RSS feed from catholic-daily-reflections.com — Copyright © 2026 My Catholic Life! Inc. What happens when the role that once defined your success… stops feeling like you? There's a quiet moment many high-achieving professionals eventually encounter. From the outside, everything still looks successful...the career, the reputation, the leadership role. But internally, something has shifted. The identity that once felt natural begins to feel like something you're performing. In this episode of Your Passion, Purpose and Personal Brand, Lisa McGuire explores the moment when success and truth begin to diverge. It's the moment when the role that once brought recognition and stability no longer feels aligned with the person you're becoming. Through a powerful story about truth, identity, and the roles we play, Lisa introduces a framework for understanding this shift and explains how recognizing your unique authority can open the door to a completely new chapter of leadership and impact. This episode is an invitation to pause and ask a deeper question: Who are you when the role disappears? If you've ever felt the tension between the role you've mastered and the truth of who you are becoming, this conversation will help you see that moment differently - not as a crisis, but as the beginning of something far more authentic. Key Takeaways Professional roles that once brought success can eventually stop reflecting who you truly are. Many people unknowingly perform identities that were shaped by expectations rather than truth. The moment when a role stops fitting is often the beginning of deeper self-recognition. Authentic authority comes from the experiences and perspective you've built over a lifetime. Identity transformation typically unfolds in three stages: the mask, the truth moment, and your Category of ONLY™. Letting go of performance creates space for a more aligned next chapter. Honest self-reflection is often the first step toward rediscovering your real identity. True leadership begins when you stop trying to fit into existing categories and define your own.   CONNECT WITH LISA LINKEDIN: https://www.linkedin.com/in/lisa-mcguire/  WEBSITE: https://lisamcguire.com Beyond the Transaction Mastermind -  Apply to join the group: https://beyondthetransactionmm.com/register Sign up for Lisa's "so much more" newsletter: https://www.thediyframework.com/so-much-more-subscribe  Freedom Reset: Your Next Steps to Realignment  Register: https://go.lisamcguire.com/freedom-reset  Human Design Masterclass Waitlist: https://go.lisamcguire.com/human-design-masterclass-waitlist  Ideal Client Workshop Waitlist: https://go.lisamcguire.com/ideal-client-workshop-waitlist-icww785155  Get your free Human Design Bodygraph: https://lisamcguire.com/get-your-free-chart/

One of the things I talk about a lot on this show is how much writing we discover we have to do when we start our businesses. Nobody warns you about this. You get excited about your thing — your coaching, your expertise, your offer — and then you realize that getting people to know you exist requires words. Everywhere. All the time. And most of us, when that hits, immediately decide we're not writers. That's exactly why I wanted to bring Terri Trespicio on the show.Terri is someone I spotted from across a room before I ever officially met her — days before the pandemic, at a Luminary event in New York City — and I was instantly obsessed. If you don't know Terri yet, she's the author of Unfollow Your Passion, her TEDx Talk has been viewed over 8 million times, and she is one of the most compelling, funny, and genuinely wise people I know when it comes to helping people find and use their voice. Years of persistence (and a few missed Instagram DMs) later, we're actual friends. And this conversation did not disappoint. Here's what I want you to really hear before you press play: the reason you think you can't write? It's not the truth. It's conditioning. And Terri explains it in a way that I think is going to genuinely change how you see yourself. We got into why writing feels so hard for so many of us, and why it has almost nothing to do with whether you're "a writer." We talked about the inner critic, what's really going on when you stare at a blank page, and the sneaky ways we try to outsource the one thing we actually can't. We also got into AI, templates, and what it really means to show up consistently for your audience in a way that actually sounds like you.If you've been avoiding the blank page or struggling to find your voice in your business, this one is going to feel like a deep exhale.Listen to this episode to find out:What's really behind your resistance to writing (it's not what you think)Why outsourcing your writing might be costing you more than it's saving youThe mindset shift that makes content creation feel less like a grindWhat Terri means when she says creativity is weather — not lightningHow to use AI without losing your voice in the processWhy templates might actually be working against you

What if the future of leadership isn't louder, tougher, or more relentless - but more human? In this episode of Your Passion, Purpose and Personal Brand, Lisa McGuire sits down with leadership consultant Deb Mitchell, founder of KindShift, to explore why kindness, clarity, and courage are becoming the most powerful leadership advantages in modern organizations. After more than 20 years working inside Fortune 500 companies like Capital One, Deloitte, and Booz Allen Hamilton, Deb noticed a troubling pattern: high-performing women leaders weren't burning out because they lacked capability. They were burning out because they were carrying too much. Too much responsibility. Too much emotional labor. Too many expectations to keep performing while abandoning their own needs. In this conversation, Deb shares why kindness is not weakness, how courageous conversations build trust inside organizations, and why leadership is shifting from performance and control toward presence, empathy, and clarity. You'll also learn simple practices - like the power of the pause - that help leaders move from anxiety and over-functioning to grounded authority. If you're a high-achieving professional who feels "successfully stuck," this episode offers a powerful reframe for what leadership can look like when you stop performing and start leading from alignment. Because the leaders shaping the future won't be the ones holding onto old models of control. They'll be the ones brave enough to lead with humanity.   CONNECT WITH DEB JOIN THE KINDSHIFT COHORT - MARCH 30 https://inspired-consulting-solutions.kit.com/25d8199207 LINKEDIN: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mitchelldebra/  CENTERLINE NEWSLETTER: https://inspired-consulting-solutions.kit.com/ KINDSHIFT WEBSITE: https://www.kindshift.us/    CONNECT WITH LISA "SO MUCH MORE" NEWSLETTER: https://www.thediyframework.com/so-much-more-subscribe  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/iamlisamcguire/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/iamlisamcguire LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/lisa-mcguire/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@iamlisamcguire/videos

Read OnlineThen the mother of the sons of Zebedee approached Jesus with her sons and did him homage, wishing to ask him for something. He said to her, “What do you wish?” She answered him, “Command that these two sons of mine sit, one at your right and the other at your left, in your kingdom.” Matthew 20:20–21What a bold move by the mother of the sons of Zebedee! A common misconception at that time was that the Messiah would usher in a new political and earthly kingdom and those who held positions of power in this kingdom would bask in earthly glory. However, Jesus' mission as the Messiah was to establish a far superior Kingdom through His Passion and Resurrection. These two disciples, along with their mother, did not yet understand this.Just before this passage, Jesus took the Twelve aside and prophesied His Passion and Resurrection: “...the Son of Man will be handed over… they will condemn him to death… be mocked and scourged and crucified, and he will be raised on the third day.” This is the third time in Matthew's Gospel that Jesus predicts His Passion. It's surprising that, immediately after this prophecy, the mother of the sons of Zebedee asks Jesus to give her two sons the most prominent positions in His Kingdom. Jesus initially responds, “You do not know what you are asking.”In many ways, Jesus says the same to us. When we pray and seek to grow closer to God, we don't always understand what we are truly asking for. Like these two disciples and their mother, we might think that growing in holiness means God will protect us from all illnesses, difficulties, crosses, and problems—replacing them with consolations, a comfortable life, family unity, success at work, notoriety, and even wealth. But that's not the Gospel. The Gospel always points us to the Cross, while promising God's grace to carry it, not avoid it.As Jesus said to these two disciples, He also says to us when we pray for greater holiness: “Can you drink the chalice that I am going to drink?” In other words, the path to holiness is the Cross. It's the only way. Jesus tells us this in many ways, just as He told His disciples three times. They did not understand or chose not to believe what He was saying. The same is true for us. When we seek holiness, our Lord tells us that we must be willing to be “handed over,” “condemned,” “mocked and scourged and crucified,” so that, with Jesus, we can be raised up. Each person's path to the Cross will be unique, but we all must accept it if we want to share in Christ's Kingdom. It is the only way.Reflect today on Jesus looking at you with love and asking, “Can you drink the chalice that I am going to drink?” Try to understand what that means. What does the Cross look like in your life? Often, when we encounter crosses, we flee from them, presuming they are bad, and even pray for them to go away. Yet our Lord lovingly tells us to carry that cross with His strength, peace, and joy. That is the only way to authentic holiness and the only way to true greatness in the Kingdom of God. Do not fear Christ's Cross. It is the answer to all you long for in life.My gentle Lord, like Your disciples, I often want my crosses removed from my life rather than carry them with the aid of Your grace. I desire to drink from the Sacred Chalice of Your Passion so that I may share in Your Resurrection and glory. Give me courage when I encounter the crosses You wish me to carry and the wisdom to discern Your path to glory. Jesus, I trust in You.Image: Christ meeting the wife and the sons of Zebedee by Paolo VeroneseSource: Free RSS feed from catholic-daily-reflections.com — Copyright © 2026 My Catholic Life! Inc. In a world obsessed with visibility, there's a quiet exhaustion rising beneath the surface. Everyone is talking about personal branding. Stand out. Be visible. Polish your message. Optimize your strategy. But what if the reason your marketing feels heavy isn't because you lack a better brand… What if it's because you've outgrown the identity you've been performing? In this episode of Your Passion, Purpose & Personal Brand, we name what most high achievers feel but rarely say out loud: personal branding has quietly become performance. And performance is exhausting. This isn't about abandoning marketing. It's about rebuilding it from the only place that actually sustains trust. That's identity. If something inside you knows you've been performing confidence… curating authority… shaping yourself to stay promotable… this conversation will feel like relief. We're going upstream - beyond websites, logos, funnels, and visibility and into the deeper truth: Your identity is the strategy. Your presence is the brand. Your realness is the marketing. KEY TAKEAWAYS Personal branding has become a socially acceptable mask for many high performers. When identity is unclear, branding turns into performance. When identity is clear, your brand becomes an amplifier. Identity-led marketing creates resonance instead of volume. When identity leads, aligned clients become magnetic — not forced. Competitors become irrelevant when you operate from a truth that cannot be replicated. Have you ever felt exhausted, not because of overwork, but because of over-managing how you're perceived? This solo episode is not just a reflection. It's a reckoning. In one of the most real straight-talking episodes of Your Passion, Purpose and Personal Brand, Lisa explores the unseen exhaustion that comes from performing who we think we need to be. Whether it's showing up in business, family roles, or social settings, the constant need to curate ourselves for others can leave us quietly depleted. Lisa shares raw, personal stories, from the lessons she learned as the eldest daughter to navigating the aftermath of loss. She names a pattern we've all felt but haven't always trusted: performance as survival. And what's waiting on the other side is not a new self to become... It's the one we've been protecting all along. No hype. No fix-it formulas. This is a refreshingly honest invitation to come home to yourself. Because transformation doesn't always roar. Key Takeaways Performing isn't fake. It's a learned adaptation that once kept us safe. We're taught to manage how we're seen, especially in professional and familial roles. Women and men carry different, but equally heavy, emotional labor. Embodiment is less about doing and more about being, quietly and honestly. The self you protect is not your core. It's a strategy. Letting go of performance opens the door to clarity, peace, and self-trust. Real safety isn't being "fixed." It's being seen. Sometimes, it whispers, "You're already here." When growth stalls, it's time to get personal.  Ever felt like you've done all the "right" things in your business, but your results don't add up? You're not alone. In this episode of Your Passion, Purpose, and Personal Brand, host Lisa McGuire sits down with business strategist Maeve Ferguson to challenge everything we've been told about marketing funnels, freebies, and formulas. They explore the quiet revolution happening behind the scenes that few people know about yet. It's one driven by data, dignity, and diagnostics. This is not another pep talk. This is a call to alignment. You'll learn why personalization is the new currency in business, how traditional funnels are quietly failing, and what it really takes to attract high-level clients without selling your soul (or your calendar) to outdated discovery calls. Maeve reveals how entrepreneurs are collapsing months of guesswork into clarity by transforming their intellectual property into score-based diagnostics that do more than convert. They connect. If you've ever whispered to yourself, "I know I'm meant for more...but I don't know where I lost the map," this conversation is your compass. KEY TAKEAWAYS Traditional funnels are outdated. Today's audiences crave personalization. Diagnostic assessments segment leads for higher precision and conversions. Mass emails and checklist freebies often repel rather than attract. Your audience's sophistication has evolved. It's time your strategy does too. Diagnostics let you identify who's truly ready and willing to buy. Rich niche positioning attracts elevated clients and filters out misaligned ones. Mapping your IP (yes, you have it) gives clarity, confidence, and authority. AI and mediocrity are flooding the market. Your differentiation is being real. When you stop chasing and start aligning, sales become symphonic. Success is not about "doing more." It's about becoming more of who you are.   CONNECT WITH MAEVE LinkedIn Profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/maeveferguson/ Instagram Profile: https://www.instagram.com/iammaeveferguson/ Website: www.maeveferguson.com  CHECK OUT MAEVE'S FREE RESOURCE: https://www.impactscoreassessment.com   CONNECT WITH LISA Beyond the Transaction Mastermind -  Apply to join the group: https://beyondthetransactionmm.com/register Sign up for Lisa's "so much more" newsletter: https://www.thediyframework.com/so-much-more-subscribe  Freedom Reset: Your Next Steps to Realignment  Register: https://go.lisamcguire.com/freedom-reset  Human Design Masterclass Waitlist: https://go.lisamcguire.com/human-design-masterclass-waitlist  Ideal Client Workshop Waitlist: https://go.lisamcguire.com/ideal-client-workshop-waitlist-icww785155  Get your free Human Design Bodygraph: https://lisamcguire.com/get-your-free-chart/

Mike doesn't just teach branding. He lives and embodies it. If you've ever felt a whisper saying "you have something to say," this episode is your invitation to start. You'll walk away not only with practical steps to begin, but a new way to see yourself as someone already becoming the next version of who you were meant to be. KEY TAKEAWAYS Writing a book can change the author more than the audience. There's a big difference between wanting to write, feeling called, and being mandated. Your manuscript is not a project—it's a relationship. Most people quit in the "messy middle," but that's where the transformation begins. There is no perfect writing process—only your process. Read Online“Go and tell John what you hear and see: the blind regain their sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor have the good news proclaimed to them. And blessed is the one who takes no offense at me.” Matthew 11:4–6Suppose a priest came to your church to put on a parish mission, and during that mission he miraculously healed the blind, crippled, terminally ill, and deaf. What if he even raised the dead to life? How would you respond? Most likely with amazement! You'd contact everyone close to you and tell them about those miracles, encouraging them to attend the next session.Though Jesus' ministry was filled with miracles, they were far from the most important part of His mission. His miracles healed bodies that would eventually die, but His preaching healed souls that would live forever because His preaching ultimately pointed to His greatest work—to suffer and die for the salvation of souls. If you were alive as Jesus walked the earth, performed miracles, preached the Good News, suffered death, and rose again, which of His actions would have had the greatest effect on you? When we consider our Lord's mission, we must consider it all as one unified whole, not missing the most important aspects. From a faith perspective, Jesus' suffering, death, and Resurrection are clearly His greatest acts. By freely embracing suffering and death, He transformed the worst into the best: the consequence of sin—which is death—into the instrument of eternal life. When Jesus said, “And blessed is the one who takes no offense at me,” He was identifying those as blessed who discovered the great value of His Cross. If we were to ask Jesus' first followers whether they would prefer to see Jesus perform miracles or suffer and die, most likely they would prefer the miracles. Such a question might have even left them confused. Why would anyone want to see a great prophet suffer and die? Yet, today, from a theological perspective, it is clear that Jesus' suffering, death, and Resurrection are the greatest acts in human history.Imagine being our Blessed Mother who witnessed it all, stood by her Son as He endured His Cross, and rejoiced with Him when He rose. Unquestionably, if we asked our Blessed Mother whether she preferred to see a few miracles from her Son or to witness His perfect sacrifice that brought salvation to the world, her holy and sorrowful heart would choose the latter. Reflect today on these questions within the context of your own life. When you pray, do you primarily ask for favors, blessings, or miracles? Or do you primarily pray for the Cross? Do you see greater value in having God remove some suffering from your life or in transforming your suffering by the power of His Cross? Ask for the grace to die with our Lord, to become a living sacrifice of love, and to have the strength to lay down your life for others. By choosing that which has eternal value, you choose the better part and will rejoice in that better part forever. My sacrificial Lord, You invite me to take no offense at Your suffering and death; to see beyond the pain, blood, and physical death; and to discover the unfathomable riches of Your Sacrifice. Please give me the eyes of faith to see the value of not only accepting Your Cross, but also to see the value of living Your Passion in my own life by laying down my life with You. Jesus, I trust in You.Image via Adobe StockSource of content: catholic-daily-reflections.comCopyright © 2025 My Catholic Life! Inc. All rights reserved. Used with permission via RSS feed.

Sometimes, doing all the "right things" still doesn't move the needle. You're showing up, sharing your expertise, creating valuable content—but the connections? The traction? They're just not happening. In today's episode of Your Passion, Purpose, and Personal Brand, I'm joined by Adam Pounds, a content strategist and relationship architect who's been on both sides of that experience. We talk about what it really means to feel "successfully stuck," that frustrating place where effort doesn't quite lead to results — and explore how shifting from performance to presence can change everything. Adam shares thoughtful insights on leading with value, building real relationships online, and why the human element matters more now than ever. So what's missing? Connection. And Adam reveals exactly how to fix it. You'll discover his powerful "Three R Framework" for outreach that feels like service, not spam. Plus, you'll hear how AI can support — not replace — the human touch, and how value-first engagement can lead to real relationships and business growth. This episode is packed with perspective-shifting insights, practical strategies, and actionable steps to help you move from performance to presence and from content to connection. Key Takeaways: Why "successfully stuck" content creators struggle despite showing up consistently. How to use Adam's Three R Framework: Right Person, Right Time, Right Value. Why "permission-based outreach" builds trust and leads to stronger relationships. How to integrate AI with heart and without losing the human touch. Why volume doesn't equal value: how to shift from noise to resonance. What "value-first outreach" actually looks like (and how to do it). How voice and nuance help AI reflect your true message. Why who you are matters more than how often you post. How to move from digital connections to meaningful conversations. Why visibility reluctance is often a sign you're focusing too much on yourself. Are you feeling the weight of success that looks good on paper but feels off in your gut? In this episode of Your Passion, Purpose, and Personal Brand, host Lisa McGuire sits down with leadership mentor and founder of Born to Lead, Alex Kuhn, for a soul-stirring conversation about the invisible tension between authenticity and ambition, and how it can make or break your leadership. Alex reveals the real reason so many high-achieving leaders feel stuck, even when the world sees them as successful. This is not your average leadership chat. Together, Lisa and Alex unravel the myth of "performative success," explore the inner work behind sustainable growth, and challenge you to redefine what it truly means to lead from your truth. This episode is for the visionary leaders, purpose-driven entrepreneurs, and executives who are ready to stop chasing strategy and start living in alignment with their personal brand voice. You'll walk away with the confidence to say no to what no longer fits, tools to recognize misalignment before burnout sets in, and the courage to finally go all-in on yourself. Key Takeaways: Authenticity ≠ Oversharing – True authenticity begins with clear boundaries, not vulnerability for vulnerability's sake. Growth Is an Internal Shift – Leadership evolution isn't just metrics; it's personal transformation. Sustainable Strategy Requires Alignment – If your strategy doesn't match your energy and purpose, it won't last. Confidence Isn't the Problem—Commitment Is – Action slows when alignment fades, not because you lack belief, but clarity. Legacy Over Ego – High achievers thrive when they lead for meaning, not metrics. Visibility Should Match Personality – You don't have to be loud to lead. Speak daily in the way that fits YOU. Leadership Is Personal – Professional success is an extension of personal alignment. Energy Management Matters – Consistent speaking or visibility must be supported with intentional warmups and habits. "Busy" Is a Red Flag – When you say "I'm too busy," it's actually a sign you need to pause and realign. You Don't Need Another Funnel—You Need Resonance. Welcome to the Season 5 premiere of Your Passion, Purpose, and Personal Brand! This episode takes a bold twist when Lisa McGuire moves from host to guest, inviting renowned journalist Cheryl Tan to take the reins and guide a deep, soul-baring conversation that exposes the hidden truths behind "success." For years, Lisa has helped others find their voice. Now, she shares the personal story of how she rediscovered her own. From growing up in a culture of silence to leading a purpose-driven business, Lisa reveals how she escaped the trap of being "successfully stuck"...a condition many high achievers find themselves in when traditional success leaves them unfulfilled. This episode pulls back the curtain on Lisa's new book in progress, Successfully Stuck, and explores what it means to live, lead, and work with unapologetic authenticity. It's a powerful call to drop the mask, reconnect with your true design, and finally answer the question: What if success isn't what we thought it was? Key Takeaways Being "successfully stuck" is real—many high achievers feel unfulfilled after reaching societal benchmarks of success. Success is not a destination; it's an alignment with who you truly are. Creativity and authenticity are stifled early in life by systems designed to promote conformity. Your nervous system, not just your mindset, may be keeping you frozen in fear. Taking off the "mask" means risking rejection but gaining real fulfillment. Lifestyle design is about choosing how and with whom you work—freedom, not hustle. True legacy is created by modeling what it means to live with purpose, especially for the next generation. What does it really mean to use your voice, not just to speak, but to shift culture, challenge norms, and advocate for others? In this episode of Your Passion, Purpose, and Personal Brand, host Lisa McGuire sits down with Dr. DeRetta Rhodes, Executive Vice President and Chief Culture Officer of the Atlanta Braves, to explore how courageous leadership starts with presence, not performance. Dr. Rhodes shares the deeply personal and professional moments that shaped her journey, from staying silent in rooms that overlooked her to becoming the voice that now ensures others are seen, heard, and valued. They also dive into the challenges women face with visibility, the power of sponsorship, the tension between perfectionism and grace, and how leaders can create environments of safety and belonging. If you've ever felt like your voice didn't matter or questioned how to lead in a way that uplifts others while staying true to yourself; this episode is for you. Tune in for a candid conversation about leadership, culture, and the transformative power of using your voice, not just for yourself, but for those who aren't in the room yet. KEY TAKEAWAYS Your voice and words are powerful — use it strategically and with intention. Culture is created by how people feel — not just the metrics. Shifting from performance to presence fosters belonging and authenticity. Timing is critical. Protecting your energy and choosing when to speak is part of courageous leadership. Creating safe spaces allows others to thrive and feel seen. Storytelling and shared experience break down barriers and inspire others. Self-awareness and reflection help you grow into your voice. Lori is a former Fortune 50 leader turned career reinvention coach who's helping mid-to-late-stage professionals land high-paying roles without sacrificing their authenticity or dignity. At a time when job searches are more competitive than ever—and ageism looms large—Lori brings hope and hard truth. With 28 clients placed in six-figure roles in under a year, her framework isn't just effective—it's transformational. Lori dives deep into how tenured professionals can stop spinning their wheels, shift from fear to fierce clarity, and own their unique ROI in today's market. She shares her 5-pillar framework that helps clients get hired fast—not by flooding job boards, but by reframing their brand, mastering executive presence, and networking with surgical precision. If you've ever questioned your value after a layoff, doubted your relevance, or struggled to speak confidently about your next chapter—this episode is for you. Prepare to rethink everything you know about job searching, confidence, and career reinvention. Key Takeaways: Old school job search tactics no longer work—it's time to lead with clarity and intentionality. Tenured professionals must define a personal brand that aligns with who they are now, not just who they've been. Structure, routine, and mindset matter more than most realize during a job transition. Networking isn't about schmoozing—it's about strategic connection with decision-makers. Overcoming ageism starts with owning your energy, enthusiasm, and experience—out loud. You're not selling yourself—you're positioning yourself as the solution. Interviews should be treated like business conversations, not interrogations. In this episode of Your Passion, Purpose, and Personal Brand, Lisa McGuire sits down with Kelly Sjol, a seasoned fractional CMO and founder of Storyfy Marketing, to talk about the growing wave of fractional leadership—a revolutionary way to structure your work and life around purpose, profit, and flexibility. Whether you're an executive in transition, an expert feeling unfulfilled, or just curious about what “fractional” really means, this conversation peels back the layers. Kelly shares real-world wisdom on how to build a sustainable business model around your zone of genius—without going back to the 9–5. If you're dreaming of more autonomy, meaning, and impact—this is your episode. Key Takeaways Fractional is not a trend — it's a long-term, sustainable career move. The biggest hurdle? Shifting from employee mindset to entrepreneurial thinking. A signature framework is essential for aligning teams and delivering value. Clients don't buy your expertise—they buy your ability to solve real business problems. Fractional leaders need to embrace structure and systems to scale. In this eye-opening episode of Your Passion, Purpose, and Personal Brand, Lisa McGuire sits down with Tanja Horan, founder of TACOSA 360 Consulting, to uncover why “nonprofit” is a tax status—not a business model. With a rich background in tech, AI, fintech, and health, Tanya brings a business-minded approach to the nonprofit sector, helping mission-driven organizations scale without losing their heart. From debunking common nonprofit myths to showing leaders how to prevent burnout, she shares practical strategies for building sustainability, diversifying revenue streams, and leading with focus. Whether you're a nonprofit leader, board member, or simply someone who wants to make a bigger impact, this conversation will challenge your assumptions and give you actionable tools to grow smarter, not just harder. Key Takeaways: Why nonprofits must embrace a business mindset to thrive. How earned revenue can be a game-changer for mission-driven work. Strategies to say “no” with confidence and protect focus. Bridging communication gaps between nonprofit boards and leaders. The importance of unrestricted funding for organizational health. Ever left a networking event feeling like you needed a shower and a reset? You're not alone. The handshake hustle and business card swaps just don't cut it anymore. In this episode of Your Passion, Purpose, and Personal Brand, returning guest Catherine Brown shares how she's reinventing networking through authenticity, generosity, and genuine human connection. As the founder of the Good Humans Growth Network and creator of the SELL WELL Conference, Catherine is leading a movement that proves building relationships can be meaningful—and still move the needle in your business. You'll learn why personal branding is non-negotiable, what it really means to be a “good human” in business, and how Lisa's new mastermind, Beyond the Transaction, is cultivating deep, transformational connections—online and in person. This episode is your blueprint for connecting with purpose and standing out by being unapologetically you. Key Takeaways: Networking Shouldn't Feel Transactional: Build relationships that are based on trust, service, and mutual growth—not immediate gain. Give First, Receive Later: The best connections come from a genuine desire to help others before expecting anything in return. SELL WELL Is Not Your Typical Conference: With hands-on workshops, interactive sessions, and no “popcorn presentations,” it's built for real transformation. Specificity is Kindness: Knowing what you want makes it easier for others to help you—and makes you more referable. Good Humans Spot Potential: The right network doesn't just support you—they reflect your potential back to you.   SELL WELL B2B Sales and Networking Conference - September 11-12 2025 https://www.theghgn.com/sell-well-2025 The Good Humans Growth Network https://www.theghgn.com/ Beyond the Transaction Hybrid Business Circle https://beyondthetransactionmm.com/register  Beyond the Transaction Open House - Wednesday, July 23, 2025 @ 10 AM EDT, 9 AM CDT, 8 AM MDT, 7 AM PDT https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/wLCzYF6jTe-ErmC99oXbsQ#/registration  Catherine Brown LinkedIn  https://www.linkedin.com/in/catherineleebrown/    CONNECT WITH LISA Register for the Beyond the Transaction Mastermind Open House on July 23, 2025 and/or apply to join the group: https://beyondthetransactionmm.com/register Sign up for Lisa's "so much more" newsletter: https://www.thediyframework.com/so-much-more-subscribe  Next Steps to the New You Waitlist: https://go.lisamcguire.com/next-steps-to-the-new-you-waitlist  Human Design Masterclass Waitlist: https://go.lisamcguire.com/human-design-masterclass-waitlist  ideal Client Workshop Waitlist: https://go.lisamcguire.com/ideal-client-workshop-waitlist-icww785155  Get your free Human Design Bodygraph: https://lisamcguire.com/get-your-free-chart/

Have you ever looked around and wondered, “Where are the people who really get me?” That question used to echo in Lisa McGuire's mind—until she found herself in a mastermind that didn't just help her grow her business... it transformed how she saw herself. In this heartfelt episode of Your Passion, Purpose & Personal Brand, Lisa shares what it was like to be part of a high-caliber community that supported her authenticity, challenged her potential, and held space for her to lead from truth. It wasn't about tactics. It was about alignment. Since then, she's heard the same question over and over: “Where do I find people like that?” Now, she's creating the answer. Lisa is launching a new kind of group—one where authenticity is not optional, it's the price of entry. A space where presence replaces performance, and where your voice, values, and vision are finally seen and supported. This isn't about fitting in. It's about finding your place. Key Takeaways Lisa's own mastermind experience helped her stop performing and start aligning. A supportive, truth-telling community can be a catalyst for massive inner and outer growth. People often ask, “Where can I find these kinds of relationships?”—this is the answer. Real transformation happens in spaces where you don't have to explain your soul. Jerri is a former superintendent and was a principal in multiple school districts. Jerri's passion for pushing boundaries shines through her work as the National Academic Advisor for ClassLink and co-host of the LinkedUp: Breaking Boundaries in Education podcast.  Your WHY I believe in lighting the spark that helps others shine. My “WHY” is rooted in a lifelong commitment to making a meaningful difference in the world by empowering people to lead with heart, think boldly, and grow into the best versions of themselves. Whether I'm supporting educators, mentoring women in leadership, or creating spaces for creative reflection and innovation, I strive to leave a trail of impact that inspires others to pay it forward. For me, it's not just about changing systems, it's about touching lives Your Background  I grew up in a small town and have been happily married to my high school sweetheart, Kurt, for 42 years. We have two amazing kids who I like to say are both in the mental health business—our daughter, Hanna, is a dedicated school counselor (School Counselor of the Year 2025), and our son, Max, brews great beer (which supports adult wellness!). We're lucky to all live in Lawrence, Kansas, where we can spend lots of quality time together. Family means the world to me, and I love that we laugh, support one another, and enjoy life side by side. Teacher and Kansas School Counselor I didn't love school growing up, especially middle and high school. It often felt disconnected and uninspiring. That early experience shaped my purpose: I wanted to make school a place where kids felt seen, engaged, and excited to learn. I spent 13 years in the classroom doing just that. But over time, I realized many students were struggling with personal challenges, and I wasn't equipped to help them navigate. So, I returned to school to earn my counseling degree, never intending to leave the classroom. But that decision led me down a new path. I became a school counselor and was later honored as the Kansas School Counselor of the Year. From there, my career expanded into leadership roles, serving as a principal, superintendent, and assistant superintendent. In 2010, I also pioneered the Kansas Online Learning Program, helping to shape the future of education in our state Tech-Savvy Superintendent From 2007 to 2020, I served as either a superintendent or assistant superintendent, leading during a time when technology was transforming education. I was deeply committed to ensuring that our teachers were equipped with the tools and training they needed to integrate technology meaningfully, and that every student, regardless of background, had access to devices and opportunities. I often said that when you put a computer in the hands of a child, it makes your poorest student rich. My work during this time focused on accessibility, digital citizenship, and future-ready learning. I wanted our students to be prepared, not just for tests, but for life. That meant giving them the digital fluency to thrive in a rapidly changing world.  I was honored in 2010 by ESchools News and was named one of the 10  Tech Savvy Superintendents in the United States. This was quite an honor for a superintendent in a rural Kansas community.   National Advisor at ClassLink and Co-host on the Breaking Boundaries in Education Podcast As the National Academic Advisor for ClassLink and co-host of the LinkedUp: Breaking Boundaries in Education podcast with Jamie Saponara, I continue to impact the educational landscape. My passion for pushing boundaries and fostering meaningful change shines through in all my endeavors. Firefly Effect and Rock Star Presenter  Two of my signature presentations—The Firefly Effect and Unleash Your Inner Rock Star—are deeply personal and powerfully purposeful. The Firefly Effect is about recognizing the light in ourselves and others. It's a call to lead with authenticity, purpose, and presence, inspiring leaders to shine in unique ways, while sparking light in those around them. Hanna and I enjoy presenting this session together, especially with these wings. Here's one with Michael Wesely (Episode #172) Unleash Your Inner Rock Star taps into the energy, confidence, and voice that so many women have but often are silent. It's designed to remind people, especially women in leadership, that they already have what it takes to step into the spotlight of their lives and careers. Here I am with an AI-generated version of me and my co-Rock Stars, Barbara (host of the Rethinking Learning Podcast)  and Erika Sandstrom (Green Screen Gal), rocking out during our presentation. I'm passionate about these sessions because they blend storytelling, interactive reflection, and empowering strategies in a way that's fun, relatable, and transformational. Watching people light up, realizing they are already enough, already powerful and impactful, is why I do what I do. Your Passion and Travels My passion for education has taken me far beyond the classroom and the boardroom—to Shanghai, China, and Kenya, Africa. In Shanghai, I worked with students and educators on innovation in teaching and learning.  While in Kenya, I had the profound honor of engaging with women leaders, students, and teachers in deeply meaningful ways.  These global experiences reminded me that while our cultures and contexts may differ, the heartbeat of education is universal: connection, opportunity, and hope. I believe global education is not just about geography—it's about perspective, empathy, and preparing students to be thoughtful, compassionate citizens of the world. These journeys fueled my belief that when we invest in women and empower educators, we unlock change that ripples across generations Awards You Received  I have been honored with several prestigious awards throughout my career, recognizing my seasoned leadership and impact. These accolades include Kansas School Counselor of the Year, eSchool News Tech-Savvy Superintendent, Kansas State University's Educational Administration Student of the Year, and Technology Leader of the Year by Tech and Learning Magazine. I have been invited to the White House three times, where I shared my knowledge and insights with then-Vice President Joe Biden's top aides on virtual education. Additionally, I was privileged to attend President Obama's unveiling of the Future Ready Initiative for Schools. EdTech and Design Thinking  I believe deeply in the power of design thinking and project-based learning because they mirror the way the real world works—messy, creative, collaborative, and purpose-driven. These approaches challenge students to think critically, solve authentic problems, and build empathy as they design solutions that matter. In a world where innovation and adaptability are essential, we can't afford to keep teaching in ways that prioritize memorization over meaning. Design thinking empowers students to see themselves as changemakers. Project-based learning gives them a reason to care. Together, they cultivate future-ready skills—like resilience, teamwork, and curiosity—that our world desperately needs. If we want a better future, we need to start by changing the way we prepare our learners today. Empowering Women as Leaders Empowering women is at the heart of everything I do. Through keynote presentations like The Firefly Effect and Unleash Your Inner Rockstar, I create spaces for women to rediscover their confidence, share their stories, and lead with authenticity and purpose.  I also co-host the LinkedUp Podcast, where we amplify the voices of bold, innovative women in leadership, tech, and education. One of my favorite traditions is hosting the Women's Tea—an intentional gathering designed for connection, reflection, and celebration among women leaders.  Another highlight of the year is our Women in Technology Retreat held annually in San Diego. It's an unforgettable experience that brings together women from across the country to learn, recharge, and grow together in a powerful community. Whether it's through sketchnotes, interactive vision boards, or hands-on workshops, my goal is always the same: to remind women of their brilliance, build a sisterhood of support, and make sure no woman has to rise alone. Why does Fashion Make a Difference?  I believe fashion is far more than fabric; it's a form of communication, confidence, and creativity. What we wear can empower us, lift our energy, and help us show up more fully in the spaces we occupy. I often say, “What you wear speaks before you say anything.” It's true—your outfit tells a story about who you are, how you feel, and how you want to be seen. For me, fashion is a joyful form of self-expression. Whether on stage presenting, recording a podcast, or connecting with leaders, I choose outfits that reflect boldness, positivity, and personality. I believe when women feel great in what they wear, they're more likely to speak up, stand tall, and own their brilliance. The Badass Firefly Effect I just published The Badass Firefly Effect. This project is close to my heart, which blends leadership lessons, personal stories, and creative inspiration to help women lead with confidence and courage. Here's Barbara's review so you have an idea what's in my book. “In The Badass Firefly Effect, Jerri Kemble invites readers on a powerful journey of self-discovery, courage, and purpose. Through personal stories and leadership lessons, she shows how embracing your inner light—your SHINE—can inspire others to do the same. This empowering guide speaks, especially to women, ready to lead with authenticity, confidence, and creative fire. Kemble's words, inspirational quotes, and brilliant sketchnotes remind us that impact matters more than applause, and that our unique spark is our superpower. Both inspiring and practical, The Badass Firefly Effect is a luminous call to action for every woman ready to be the glow, the grit, and the firefly.” What's next for you? I also just illustrated a children's book that's now officially published and expected to be released before Christmas—an exciting milestone!  Beyond that, I'm diving into new art projects, designing creative leadership tools for ClassLink, and continuing my journey of learning and research on women in leadership. At the core of it all, my mission is simple: to shine—and to shine brightly enough that others feel safe and inspired to find their light.  Jerri Kemble's Contact Info LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jerri-kemble-58307b28/  X: @techsavvysupt Bluesky: @techsavvysupt.bsky.social Email: jjkemble@gmail.com  ***** Thank you, Jerri Kemble, for joining me on my virtual porch.  I'm fortunate to know Jerri, to have been on her podcast, and to present with her and Erika Sandstrom in our “Unveil Your Inner Rock Star” sessions  Jerri is that Firefly who brings light to everyone so all of us shine.  I hope you enjoyed our conversation. You've been there—that moment after a sales call when you realize you've done all the talking. You've shared your expertise, pitched your solution, even offered to "follow up" (again). And somehow, you still feel like you're the one chasing them. What if that feeling isn't just in your head? What if you're actually giving away your power in these interactions without even realizing it? In this episode of Your Passion, Purpose, and Personal Brand, host Lisa McGuire sits down with sales powerhouse Amy Sulka to uncover the hidden mindset traps that sabotage your success long before any negotiation begins. The Truth No One Tells You About Sales Amy doesn't mince words: "No one is taking our power. We're giving it away." This isn't just another tactical sales conversation about closing techniques or objection handling. It's a wake-up call about how the subtle language we use, the desperation we carry, and the assumptions we make silently undermine our authority with every interaction. Amy reveals how saying things like "I'm just following up" or "Thank you for your time" aren't harmless pleasantries—they're unconscious signals that diminish your equal business stature and position you as a vendor rather than a trusted advisor. Whether you're a solopreneur trying to land your next client, a sales professional hitting roadblocks, or a business owner tired of working "in" rather than "on" your business, Amy's perspective provides the permission and pathway to step into your power. Listen to this episode if you're ready to transform not just how you sell, but how you show up in every professional interaction. As Amy reminds us, "Until you think of yourself as a trusted advisor, your prospect never will." KEY TAKEAWAYS In what situations do we stop qualifying and start pitching and hoping. What's behind our avoiding tough money conversations  How chasing unqualified leads creates a self-fulfilling prophecy The real reason prospects "ghost" us after meetings The "pattern interrupt" technique that immediately elevates trust in sales conversations Why qualifying out is more profitable than chasing every lead How the subtle word "just" is costing you authority and deals The three questions that qualify any opportunity properly CONNECT WITH AMY  LinkedIn Profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/amysulka/ Website: go.sandler.com/salessellutions360 CONNECT WITH LISA Sign up for Lisa's "so much more" newsletter to get your digital copy of The Perfect Plan by Don Barden. https://www.thediyframework.com/so-much-more-subscribe  Next Steps to the New You: https://go.lisamcguire.com/next-steps-to-the-new-you  Instagram: @iamlisamcguire Facebook: @iamlisamcguire LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/lisa-mcguire/  YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@iamlisamcguire  Get your free Human Design Bodygraph: https://lisamcguire.com/get-your-free-chart/

Ever feel like you're crushing it on paper but quietly burning out behind the scenes? You're not alone—and you're definitely not broken. In this episode of Your Passion, Purpose, and Personal Brand, Lisa McGuire welcomes Aaron Morrison, a straight-shooting performance and mindset coach who helps high-achieving entrepreneurs uncover what's really driving their stress, procrastination, and emotional exhaustion. Together, they explore what happens when outward success masks inner burnout—and how to shift from high-functioning survival mode to sustainable, emotionally aligned performance. You'll hear about Aaron's unique approach to emotional regulation, how subconscious patterns create sabotage loops, and the truth behind the “never enough” mentality so many top performers silently carry. This episode is a soul-level reset for anyone who's outwardly successful but inwardly stuck. Tune in for a candid exploration of what it really takes to align your inner programming with your goals, regulate your emotions, and finally stop running from your own success. KEY TAKEAWAYS: Burnout isn't a badge of honor—it's your body sounding the alarm. High performers often push through exhaustion, mistaking it for drive. But burnout is your signal to pause, recalibrate, and realign. The “never enough” mindset is a silent thief of joy. When your ambition is fueled by fear or unworthiness, no amount of success feels satisfying. Recognizing this trap is the first step to freedom. True transformation begins with radical self-awareness and ownership. Nothing changes until you take responsibility for how you show up—internally and externally. Procrastination isn't laziness—it's fear in disguise. Whether it's fear of failure, success, or visibility, naming it gives you power over it. Emotional regulation isn't soft—it's your strategic edge. The ability to manage your inner state directly impacts your decision-making, leadership, and long-term performance. Sustainable success requires more than strategy—it requires emotional alignment. You don't need another course or checklist. You need to align your beliefs, behavior, and nervous system with the future you're building.
