This month we revisit PatM legend Phillip J. Roth, who brought us Total Reality and Fatal Revenge, for his 1990 movie "Red Snow." Shot at Timberline and Ski Bowl, this film takes the classic trope of skiers vs. snowboarders and amps it up with Uzis and murder. We're then joined by our friend Mark Landers, who was a production assistant for this movie, who dishes on the behind-the-scenes goings on.
When 19-year-old Chris Green is found beaten to death in a snowy Bangor, Michigan ditch in 2002, his family fear their son's murder will never be solved. Years pass before shocking revelations from an informant emerge and blow the case wide open. Dipsea - Visit Dipseastories.com/COLDCASE to start your free 30-day trial! Part Three of my Christmas Special! Dennice Cisneros who you all know plays ‘Olivia Romo' in the comedy horror, “Red Snow” alongside the legendary Vernon Wells and other great actors such as Nico Bellamy (Luke), Laura Kennon (Jackie), and Alan Silva (Brock). At first, I was reluctant to watch this movie, but I am certainly glad that I did. It's not your typical comedy horror with just vampires, the storyline is quite ‘cheeky' and very entertaining. Dennice Cisneros, an award-winning actress who is the first a first generation Mexican American and quite talented. She pinned the role of Olivia very well and I am delighted to say that no one else could have acted as Olivia better. For those that love cheeky, romance, vampires, and comedy all wrapped in a horror movie, this film is definitely for you to watch… And to put on your list as Horror Christmas movies to check out, I guarantee that you will not regret it. Overall, great flick… The cheesy and cheeky comedy makes up the entire 80 minutes with a plot twist at the end. If I were to rate this movie with ‘fangs' – I would give it a 4.5 out of 5. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/southjerseyhorror/message

You ever wonder what a vampire movie mixed with Christmas cheer would look like? Well wonder no more because here is Red Snow. The only question is...can the stake the landing?
To kick off the holiday (horror) season, we were fortunate enough to chat with the Writer/Director and star of the 2021 seasonal vampire flick that we raved about back in Ep 80. Tune in to hear all about the making of “Red Snow,” why Sean wrote the lead role for Dennice, and how its smart mix of horror and comedy has made it one of our favorite holiday horror films.

This week, we're joined aboard a Soviet submarine by Mark McManus, Jack Shanahan and a low-effort lizard alien, who proceeds to run around the boat in the nude murdering members of the crew. But we're all too interested in Jenna Coleman, David Warner, some guys from Game of Thrones and a discarded fibreglass suit of armour to notice. Notes and links The tale of Steven Berkoff's wilful destruction of the climactic scenes of The Power of Three is told in its entirety in Episode 234: Stop Watching a Kids' Show. Those of you lucky enough not to remember 1983 might need to be told about The Hunt for Red October (1990), a film set on board a Russian submarine captained by a typically Scottish-sounding Sean Connery. Mark Gatiss is definitely looking over his shoulder at that film while he's writing this episode. Nathan refers to the most recent episode of Bondfinger, where we comment on am episode of The Saint which contains scenes of French people speaking to one another in English with a French accent. (Which is just the sort of thing they probably do all the time just to prank us.) Here's El Sandifer's brutal assessment of the Ice Warriors: “…if we're being honest, the fact that they are literally green reptile monsters from Mars has to mark the point where the show has simply given up on monsters and concluded that the audience will accept anything.” Spencer Wilding played Skaldak in this story and was the Wooden King in The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe and the Minotaur in The God Complex. He also played Darth Vader in Rogue One. Fans of hefty lads will enjoy his Instagram. I certainly did. Welcome to a new year of Cheer and Loathing! After a brief break, we're back with Season 3 and a discussion of Winter horror. This week, we're discussing two recent releases — and two very different films. Steph picked the light-hearted, vampire horror-comedy Red Snow, while Casey went with the bleak and atmospheric Antlers. What's more surprising than our picks this week is how we felt about them. This episode goes to some very unexpected places, and it's one you'll definitely want to tune in for. Intro Music Credit: Ariel Dyer - https://arieldyer.bandcamp.com/

Our main feature this week is THE MEDIUM, a Thai Shudder exclusive about shamans and possessions. Does it rise above the other possession movies or will Jason whine during the entire episode? But first, we're reviewing Faking a Murderer, Red Snow, Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, Last Night in Soho, The Forever Purge, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, Slaxx, and Billy Silver by Daniel Volpe.
Circus geeks or holiday bloodsuckers? Take your pick from the two movies we discuss this week. “Nightmare Alley” (2021) gave us an all-star cast, a chicken beheading, a bathtub HJ, and the desire to never want psychic abilities. While “Red Snow” had a “Misery + Vampires” feel to it, with a cute bloodsucker wearing outfits Annie Wilkes would be proud of.

Welcome back to another "slay" ride of an episode, and it's a Dickens-splittin' jaunt this time around! This week, 'PostMortem' brings the yule with a review of one of the most hilarious "killer Santa" B-movies, maybe of all time! From 2005, starring former WWE star wrestler Bill Goldberg, filmed in "Hell"-ish Alberta, Canada - SANTA'S SLAY! Also this week, staying within the axe-mas theme, your host briefly talks about the Shudder exclusive THE ADVENT CALENDAR, the festive vampire flick RED SNOW and the re-cut and re-released Director's Cut of ROCKY IV: ROCKY VS DRAGO. All this and more as Paul unwraps this week's "season's grievings" on Podcast Zero. In this week's episode Mike, Rich and Steve are joined once again by Sean Malloy, host of I MUST BREAK THIS PODCAST - Sean joined us to record a review for the next episode but stuck around to help out reviewing this week's DTV Throwback... First up though is SLUMBER PARTY MASSACRE a remake of the 1982 classic slasher. This one is directed by Danishka Esterhazy whose film The Banana Splits movie went down well around here! Next is RED SNOW , a horror comedy in which a young novelist is "visited" by an injured vampire. NIGHT RAIDERS is a political allegory dressed up as a Dystopian sci-fi movie and gave us unsettling flash-backs of The Flood! Our final feature review is STEALING CHAPLIN, a caper movie directed by Paul Tanter (Kill Ratio, Once Upon A Time at Christmas), and starring Simon Philips alongside his brother Doug as a pair of conmen in Las Vegas. Our Short Shot is BOGLINS RETURN - This is from the MASE BROTHERS who gave us the excellent Cyborg: Deadly Machine. We recommend you click the link to check out their other work! As mentioned above, Sean Malloy joins us to talk about our DTV Throwback, the remake of GET CARTER starring Sylvester Stallone. Please note that I mistakenly call Stallone's character "John" when in fact it's Jack! You can find Get Carter on IMDB TV, and is free with adverts. Follow the Short Shots TWITTER page, where we will be linking to a short film every day! Don't forget to also check out our main show, the DTV DIGEST on TWITTER and FACEBOOK!
@EchoChamberFP https://www.instagram.com/echochamberfp/ this week is another 'TWO Parter'! We start things off with a vampire Christmas tale, and end with the new Netflix Christmas RomCom. 'Red Snow' is written and directed by Sean Nichols Lynch. Struggling romance novelist Olivia Romo's (Dennice Cisneros) dream of meeting a real-life vampire comes true when Luke (Nico Bellamy) shows up at her isolated snowbound cabin in need of assistance. But on Christmas Eve, Olivia's dream becomes a nightmare as Luke's fellow vampires, Jackie (Laura Kennon) & Brock (Alan Silva) come looking for him... Michael Mayer directs 'Single All The Way' and Chad Hodge handles the writing duties. Desperate to avoid his family's judgment about his perpetual single status, Peter (Michael Urie) convinces his best friend Nick (Philemon Chambers) to join him for the holidays and pretend that they're now in a relationship. But when Peter's mother (Kathy Najimy) sets him up on a blind date with her handsome trainer James (Luke Macfarlane) the plan goes awry. Our scariest guest Sean Lynch returns, and this time he brought a book. Is Freddy a poltergeist? Does Sage talk too much about Jason X? Are there 30 pitches that are worse than the version that made it to film? (yes.) Check out Sean's new movie Red Snow (which Gavin shot) at whatever festivals screen low budget horror movies.
Today's episode features two interviews and two reviews. We started off by Henri's review of Red Snow, "a dramatic feature that begins when Dylan, a Gwich'in soldier from the Canadian Arctic, is caught in an ambush in Afghanistan". Check it out at redsnow.ca We then continued with Deon's interview that they had with Derek Chan, playwright and director of yellow objects, a show that is an innovative resistance against tyranny. Deon followed this with their review of The Essentials, presented by the Cultch and to finish off, we had Serra's interview with Jacob Gramit and Kira Fondse. Jacob is the artistic manager of Musica Intima and Kira is one of their sopranos and they talked about The Beginning of the Song. (Go to 0:55 to skip the intro) In Episode 44, we are joined by a special guest, the hilarious and clever 2 Dolla Will who is a member of The Blicky Boyz, and is legitimately one of the funniest artists I have ever heard. With a prolific work ethic boasting many projects under his belt... most notably Red Snow 5, an album that was released on March 26th, 2021... co-starring the Blicky Boyz and Iceberg Theory (friend of the show, who I interviewed earlier this year in Ep. 28). We first dive into 2 Dolla's origin story, and the key influences that shaped the artist's comedic rap stylings (2:49). Next, we discuss why 2 Dolla Will and 'soccer moms' have such a special connection (14:34). Will gives some insight into how his lyrical approach evolved into the stream of consciousness hilarity that it is today (17:05). 2 Dolla then discusses what the overall intention or objective he has in mind when creating his music (21:04). Hailing from Butte, Montana, Will speaks on his hometown and why he feels it's important to properly represent where he's from (23:59). Next, we discuss 2 Dolla's recent album, Red Snow 5, and how his approach to this album was different than his previous work (28:07). We then go on a tangent related to wack rap fans who are stuck in the past... who may or may not be fans of R.A. The Rugged Man (32:48). 2 Dolla discusses how his relationship with the other Blicky Boyz members and Iceberg Theory developed, as they play co-starring roles on Red Snow 5 (40:22). Will gives us more insight into his stream of consciousness rap recording process (49:56). We then discuss Will's choice to distribute his music mainly on Bandcamp, and why other independent artists should consider making the most of this platform (51:58). Finally, 2 Dolla gives us a breakdown of the many projects he has coming in the pipeline in 2021 (1:00:54). Will Dean is our guest author for this mini episode of the Love Your Library podcast, talking about his brand new book The Last Thing to Burn. You may already know Will from his brilliant series about Swedish journalist Tuva, which began with the much acclaimed novel Dark Pines and was followed by Red Snow and Black River. Will is a romantic ideal of an author, living with his family in a cabin in the middle of a Swedish elk forest, as isolated as one of the characters... Happy New Year! This week Liz and Alrik welcome back previous guests Sean Lynch and Gavin Murray to talk about their new film Red Snow which they shot along with Alrik as producer back in February of 2020 right before the pandemic hit. We recorded this conversation back in April of 2020 so some of our comments on COVID19 are pretty dated but this is a really fun conversation about shooting a horror film in the show, roughly over a month after we wrapped production. Liz and Alrik also have filmmaker Debi Bradshaw on the show to talk about her excellent short film Hotcake, which is a coming of age, 80s period piece short film, which is I think the first of its kind that we've had on the show, so check it out!
The Living Daylights. License to Kill. A third movie that never got made. Who's your James Bond? Sean Lynch's is Timothy Dalton, for some reason. Join us for a reductive history lesson on all things Bond, an intimate discussion of Dalton's jawline, and some bond pitches. Note: this episode is currently not working on spotify, for some reason. You can listen to more of Sean's voice at his podcast TAPEHEADS, where he shows his wife VHS tapes he knows way too well. It's cute. And coincidentally, you can listen to both Sean and Gavin talk about making Lynch's directorial debut "Red Snow" over on Alrik's podcast MAKING MOVIES IS HARD.

Marie Clements is one of the most visionary and astonishing storytellers working in Vancouver today. Whether it's with documentaries like The Road Forward (which used musical numbers and moving interviews to tell the story of the Native Voice newspaper), or her libretto for Missing, the chamber opera that amplified the stories of murdered and missing Indigenous women, Marie's aim is to imprint stories on her audiences. Marie's latest is Red Snow – and on the surface, it's tonally and thematically different from her previous work. It's a moving and at times violent drama about a Gwich'in soldier serving in the Canadian Army who is captured by the Taliban. Red Snow is about love, and children, and faith, and the different faces of colonialism. It's about survival, and language, and snow. It's heart pounding. It's glorious. It's astonishing. In short, Red Snow is textbook Marie Clements. On the eve of Red Snow's theatrical release, Marie Clements joins Sabrina Furminger in the YVR Screen Scene studio to talk about her film, and what she'd like audiences to think about while the end credits roll. Will Dean is an author of ‘Dark Pines’ and ‘Red Snow’. He moved to Sweden with his wife and lived in his self-built cabin. His bestselling debut thriller ‘Dark Pines’ was chosen for ITV’s Zoe Ball Book Club and shortlisted for the Hearst Big Book Award Crime novel of the Year, The Guardian’s Not The Booker Prize, and the National Book Awards. In this summer 2019 HKTDC Hong Kong Book Fair, Mr Dean will come and talk about his immersive fiction and how a novel is more powerful than movies.
Is Scandi Noir still Scandi Noir if a British author is writing it? Will Dean has gone a long way to immerse himself in Nordic Noir culture, even building a house in the middle of a Swedish forest. It's the setting for his edgy thrillers Dark Pines and Red Show, featuring the deaf journalist and investigator Tuva Moodyson. Will reads from his latest book, Red Snow, and tells us about life in the forest, how he writes and his "creeps book". There's also a competition to win one of Will's books - but you'll have to listen to find out. Some commentators have suggested that Scandi Noir is now in decline. They begin with Yuichi Yokoyama's Iceland, released last fall from Retrofit Comics/Big Planet Comics. The plot of this book is minimal -- two characters are searching for a third, they find him, and then they drive off in a taxi -- and it's something like you might find in Samuel Beckett narrative. But it's Yokoyama's art that propels the text. As the guys discuss, there is something kinetic, claustrophobic, and even frantic about the visuals. For Derek, futurism comes to mind. After that they look at a book that both Shea and Derek have been eagerly anticipating, Susumu Katsumata's Fukushima Devil Fish(Breakdown Press). The core text comprises nine short stories that provide a diversity of tone. The first two are the most contemporary, originally published during the 1980s and focusing on the dangers of nuclear power. The remaining pieces reflect Katsumata's style from the late 1960s into the early 1970s, stories originally appearing in the legendary Garo andCOM. Some of these are folklore-inspired narratives, presenting a pre-modern Japan inhabited by kappa and tanuki and reminiscent of the stories found in Red Snow. Others are instances of "I-manga," introspective and highly personal pieces driven more by tone than cohesive storyline. Four critical and biographical essays, two written by Katsumata himself, round out the collection.

On the day of our lort and savior's birthday 1776, George sets in motion a plan to embarrass the British, leverage a strategic advantage, and crush the Hessians in Trenton. This show covers some pretty epic moments in early American history. One scene from today's episode was reimagined by painter Emanuel Leutz. 'Washingtons crossing the Deleware' is one of the most iconic images of the revolutionary war; however, the image is far from what actually happened that cold Christmas day 1776.
