On the backs of one of rock ‘n roll's greatest innovators and one of its greatest ringmasters, Van Halen made some of the greatest music of the late ‘70s and early ‘80s. Guitarist Eddie Van Halen chased the perfect sound while lead singer David Lee Roth chased the next party. They were also ruthless when it came to protecting the unique thing they had created. Nothing was allowed to stand in their way. Not bullies, bootleggers, cynical guitar manufacturers, record producers – even the members of Van Halen themselves. Sinners, Reacher, Invincible and Severance. We are doing our best to keep ahead of all the amazing TV releases out there at the moment, and seemingly we're failing pretty miserably occasionally. So in an effort to make up ground, we are doing two TV roundups of what's hot on the box. This week is Reacher Season 3, Invincible Season 3 and the second huge season of Severance. But as we had to move the show to accomodate a screening, we have also included a special bonus review of the film we saw; Sinners - The new film from Ryan Coogler, starring Michael b Jordan, Hailee Steinfeld and many many more. Dion, Jill and Quinny are the ones getting square eyes this week, so we hope you appreciate the many hours they have spent in front of the TV (and movie screen) for you... Sinners Synopsis: Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back. https://youtu.be/EQ-jtaIIjJk A huge thank you to all our Innies, Outies and Super hero man mountains who listen (perhaps) to each episode of the show, especially those of you Bootleggers who join in on the live-chat during the Twitch stream this week (and every week!). If you haven't done so before join us next week for our live show 7:30pm Wednesday the 30th of April! Your generosity is always appreciated! If you feel so inclined drop us a sub! The more subs we get the more emotes, you get! Every bit of your support helps us to keep the show on the air! I would like to discuss severance and I'm like please no.  Quinny  Hmm. Unless there's an extraordinarily good package to go along with that severance.  Dion  Yeah. Well, we just watched Milchak. Aubrey O'Quin and Mai-Brit Harvey take us through the vibrant 1920s-themed event held at the historic Driskill Hotel. From the dazzling flapper dresses to the dapper suits, the evening was a visual feast. The night honored remarkable individuals like Linsay Rosser-Sumpter, Sage Kimzey, Justin McKee, and Outlaw Partners for their significant contributions to the Western space. The heartfelt recognitions and emotional moments truly showcased the strong community values and support for rodeo athletes. The evening underscored the importance of acknowledging the efforts of those who tirelessly support and uplift the community, emphasizing the deep bonds and shared commitment to giving back. The festivities wouldn't have been complete without acknowledging our amazing event partners and the excitement of our auctions. We extend our gratitude to all our sponsors, including The Austin Gamblers, Tecovas, Boot Barn, Smarty Rodeo and more, whose support made the event a resounding success. A themed photo booth presented by Smarty, a TruWestern scent bar, as well as both live and silent auctions presented by Boot Barn added layers of fun and engagement for all the attendees.  Highlights from the gala, such as Ezekiel Mitchell's heartfelt speech about the WSF's impact on his life, brought the community together in support of WSF'S mission. Listen in as we reflect on these memorable moments and look forward to future events that promise more fun and community engagement.

“Don't ask me nothin'! You hear me? Don't ask! And don't bring anybody in here for me to identify. I won't identify them even if I know they did it!” This is the story of the nation's up-and-coming criminal underground.  By 1920, with few exceptions, producing, buying, and selling alcohol is outlawed, but that doesn't stop enterprising Americans. Many feel perfectly comfortable flouting the law and continuing to drink at their leisure, albeit with the added thrill that comes with evading halfhearted lawmen. Some cops are even in on it! But even as law enforcement steps up their game with undercover agent extraordinaire, Izzy Einstein, criminals get organized and start doing serious business—serious as in murderous. Home-brewers like Maude Vogan can be found in rural America, but in the big cities, Prohibition provides a marketplace for organized crime to flourish. There is money to be had, if one can ignore that the likelihood of getting killed just shot up dramatically. Notorious gangsters George Remus, Legs Diamond, and Lucky Luciano run this underworld, double-crossing each other, planning takeovers, and making millions off of booze-loving Americans. But can law and order triumph over these mafiosos? For now, fuhgeddaboudit. ____ Connect with us on HTDSpodcast.com and go deep into episode bibliographies and book recommendations join discussions in our Facebook community get news and discounts from The HTDS Gazette  come see a live show get HTDS merch or become an HTDS premium member for bonus episodes and other perks.
