For a couple who are apparently concerned with maintaining their privacy, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been posting an awful lot of content sharing insight into their Californian life, including pictures of them and their children Archie and Lilibet at Disneyland. But more controversially, Meghan shared on Instagram a bedside twerking video, taken shortly before she gave birth to Lilibet, to silence online trolls who claim she was never pregnant at all. Instead the video has emboldened conspiracy theorists and subjected both of them to merciless ridicule. So, what will be next? A presidential campaign? Or something even more vulgar? Joining Piers Morgan to discuss this is host of ‘Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered', Kinsey Schofield, commentator Ava Santina and comedian James Barr. Streaming giant Netflix seems to have another gritty hit on their hands, and this one's darker than ever. 'Adolescence' follows the story of a young boy accused of stabbing a female schoolmate, and draws heavily on the continuing controversy of the online ‘manosphere'. The show paints a dark and violent picture of modern masculinity, seemingly pointing the finger of accusation at online influencers like Andrew Tate. So should youths be banned from using smartphones? Are caring and conscious parents the answer? Or is a return to firm traditional Christian gender roles the only way forward? To debate this, Piers Morgan speaks to host of ‘The Crucible' Andrew Wilson, comedian and radio host James Barr, host of ‘Tomi Lahren is Fearless' on Outkick Tomi Lahren and host of ‘The Determined Society' Shawn French. Until the end of WWI, the Middle East as we know it didn't exist. No Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, or Iraq. Instead, there was the Ottoman Empire, whose dissolution using an arbitrary line on a map set the region on a course of upheaval that's still with us. Listen as historian James Barr speaks with EconTalk's Russ Roberts about the 1916 Sykes-Picot Agreement, and how, in the century that followed, the machinations of the French, the British, and the local residents created the modern Middle East and affected the lives of millions.

“Politics is personal” as the old saying goes, so no one should be surprised that the rightward geopolitical shift that Trump's re-election has brought to pass would affect other areas of American life. The US entertainment industry for example, is reeling from the new President's zero tolerance for woke. Blake Lively's attempt to ‘cancel' Justin Baldoni has backfired spectacularly and Selena Gomez's recent anti-deportation outing on Instagram has brought her nothing but accusations of performative ‘virtue-signalling'. Plus, trans actress Karla Sofía Gascón, star of Oscar-nominated Emilia Pérez is in hot water after some unsavoury tweets were unearthed... We look back on the region's history and discuss what it can teach us about the future.Jonny Dymond brings together a carefully assembled panel of experts, academics and journalists to talk about the conflict in the region. What has happened in history to lead us to this point? And, what can history teach us about what might happen next? This week, Jonny is joined by senior BBC correspondent and Middle East expert Jane Corbin, historian James Barr, and the BBC's Middle East correspondent, Yolande Knell. They explore the violence and civil war in the run up to Britain's withdrawal from its Palestine mandate, Israel's declaration of independence, and the war with Arab states that followed. This episode was made by Keiligh Baker with Ivana Davidovic. The technical producer was Ricardo McCarthy. The assistant editor is Ben Mundy. The senior news editor is Sam Bonham. This episode is part of a BBC Sounds series. This is the second instalment of a two-part episode. The October 7 Hamas-led terrorist attacks on Israel and the subsequent siege of Gaza by the Israeli military upended the Middle East. Can the conflict be contained or will the tensions between Israel, Hezbollah and Iran escalate and engulf the Middle East in a regional war? On October 27, 2024, Jeremy Bowen, the International Editor of the BBC, joined Intelligence Squared CEO Matt McAllester in conversation to reflect and make sense of what is happening in the region. Bowen has reported on all the most significant events that have shaped the region's recent history – the long and ultimately failed Middle East peace process, the tragic events of 9/11 and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, plus most recently the Israel-Hamas war. Many of these events are covered in Bowen's recent book, The Making of the Modern Middle East. As a journalist and author, his deep understanding of the political, cultural and religious differences of its peoples makes him uniquely placed to explain its complex past and troubled present. This is a two-part discussion. Part Two, recorded on October 28, 2024, convenes Dr Sanam Vakil, Director of the Middle East and North Africa Programme at Chatham House, and James Barr, a historian of the Middle East and the author of Lords of the Desert and A Line In The Sand, in conversation with BBC News presenter, Jonny Dymond. So, Piers Mortgan brings rapper and podcast host Zuby, transgender activist and writer Eli Erlick, Uncensored contributor Esther Krakue and comedian and podcast host James Barr together for a timely review of this year's festivities. One thing that has been noticed by more than just a few is that in the US, Target have massively scaled back their pride merchandise and observance of the holiday after the conservative backlash, leading many to question their commitment to the queer community in the first place. Conflict then arises when the panel arrives at the topic of trans women in women's sports. Then we move on to the overnight success of the ‘Hawk Tuah' girl and what it says about western society. June is Pride Month, a time for acknowledging and celebrating the LGBTQ+ community across the world. It's surely a worthy cause, but Piers Morgan has a question to ask; Why do the LGBTQ+ community enjoy an entire month of events and attention, while other minority groups usually only get a day?To discuss, Piers brings collegiate athlete and author Riley Gaines, journalist Ernest Owens, LGBTQ+ comedian James Barr and columnist Esther Krakue together on Uncensored. James and Ernest furiously defend Pride month, and argue that people like Piers are actually a reason it's necessary. Riley comes at the discussion from a different angle, saying that deference to LGBTQ+ activism is leading to unfairness and a lack of opportunity in women's sports. Hosted on Acast. In this fiery debate on women's sport, Piers Morgan brings James Barr, Esther Krakue, Tomi Lahren and Francesca Fiorentini onto the topic of trans athletes, ignited by the news that transgender sprinter Aayden Gallagher was booed for winning gold in the Oregon Girls 200m State Championships last week. Esther and Tomi are indignant at what they see as males replacing females in women's sport, while Francesca says she's ‘embarrassed to be a woman' when other women 'freak out' about trans athletes. While it's supposed to be a unifying celebration of music, the Eurovision Song Contest practically never manages to stay apolitical; and this year was no exception. An unprecedented level of disruption and protest was directed at the Israeli entry Eden Golan over the weekend, as global anger at Israel's actions in Gaza continues to grow. To discuss this year's contest, Piers brings comedian James Barr, Israeli writer and activist Hen Mazzig, Novara Media host Michael Walker and Drag Queen Crystal onto the show. As the Israeli assault on Gaza, immediately preceded by the Hamas-led massacre in Southern Israel, continues, we return to the history of this conflict. The crisis in Israel - Palestine continues, currently unfolding with the Israeli attack on Gaza, immediately preceded by the Hamas-led massacre in Southern Israel. Unpicking the history and origins of these events remains a particularly difficult task, with history used and abused by people with points to prove on all sides. For that reason I was particularly happy to be able to conduct an extended interview with the historian James Barr, whose books on the history of the Middle East, including A Line in the Sand and Lords of the Desert are some of the best regarded guides to the region, particularly in the early years of the twentieth century. With James, in this first episode, we got to the bottom of famous moments in the Levant region in the early twentieth century, including the Sykes-Picot agreement and the Balfour Declaration, as well as the underlying colonial tensions, notably between Britain and France that drove much of these events. In a subsequent episode we will talk about Jewish militancy in the mid-twentieth century, the events of 1948 including the Nakba and the establishment of the State of Israel.
